    Good Morning, Friends.

Lilacs. Love and adore them. Never see any in these parts. Had many bushes at home where I grew up. Camelia the vet gave us in 1992 when our Poodle died was felled this year by some underground varmint that chewed the roots. It lasted 25 years. Can't complain about that. Can't decide what to put in the now empty spot. Miss those gorgeous blooms.

As to my favorite house fragrance: White linens and lace by Yankee Candle. Of course, I didn't find this until they discontinued it and now pay big bucks for what I can find on eBay.
We have a revolving door of people here, and I keep my wax melt machines fueled up.

Bought a new movement for our clock that we rely on in the kitchen and hope that John is up to installing it today. I'm tired of seeing 5:55 everytime it strikes.

The weather here is just what it should be. I pulled a LOT of grass from flower beds yesterday. Still need to do more, but may not.

JoG, yes, it seems you and John are dealing with the same grueling checks and balances. Thank goodness you don't require the transfusions he does. BUT they give him life. And I thank God each day.

Roofer called yesterday. They may make it here today to talk contract. Looks like it will be July before the roof shows up, but John says a roof should be installed in warm weather.

Well, better get going. Been awake since 3. Seems like it should be bedtime again by now. LOL

Hugs to All of You. maxie, you made me hungry for spaghetti and meatballs.

Good Morning to all from rainy, foggy Ohio....glad I am not traveling anywhere this morning, very foggy conditions, sure it will clear before I have to leave for my appt. I had planned on doing some shopping, but not in this weather.50 degrees out this morning but with the rain makes it pretty chilly. Been getting 'little' things done around here, my deck table was missing a plastic ring for the hole the umbrella fits in, told hubby weeks ago he said he would find a part, well he didn't but I did and put it in yesterday...golf cart need a gauge to let you know the battery life, he was supposed to get one but didn't, I found one on Amazon after doing research and ordered it, I can't install it, but at least it is here...I could go on but you get my drift, little things can stake up and become 'big things'. yes he is a procrastinator and I am a get on top of it now kind of gal.. Actually I am starting to be concerned that there may be a problem with him and he isn't telling me, getting very forgetful also and disagreeing with me on many things...will keep my eye on him.

No got some rugs in the dryer now, they always go thumb, thumb, trying to get all my rugs washed and floors done, first the rugs, but will wait on doing floor, weather outside to nasty and I want to open windows when I do the floors..

I love the smell of Jasmine, but also love the smell of lilacs and hyacinths, have not had a lilac bush since moving from the house around the corner from me...miss it, planted it by the bedroom windows..I planted a tree in honor of my Mother when she passed and also brought some coal and red dog rocks from KY and had them around the lilac bush, of course had to leave all of that at that house also...

I wanted to fix a chicken on the rotisserie on the grill but weather is not allowing that as my grill is out in the open, so have to come up with another idea for supper....going to freeze the chicken until some nicer weather comes around again...

Well I have bored you long enough, have a great day one and all...Be kind....
Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God

We don’t get fog here except in winter.
Usually driving to the airport or going south down I-5.
My kids would call that our
      White Christmas!

    Good morning everyone.

Got everything put away and "up in the garage and shed. Now I can rest a little. Have no idea what I will do today. I do have bacon to fry and some steaks to fix. The eye of round I run through a tenderizer. If I don't, my stomach just won't digest it. So those 2 things I sure want to do. The other meat is ribeye that I want to grill either today or tomorrow.

I will be able to wash these dirty windows before long now. The weather is starting to warm up. Don't know if I will get them done before going to Fort Wayne next week though.

I have a couple of things to do for my sister-in-law up there. And E. is wanting her yard mowed so that could be today or Friday. My yard will also need mowing before I leave.

I use to have a Lilac bush by my bedroom window, but it never bloomed. After I dug it up and threw it away, I was told if I pruned it, it wouldn't bloom. Well I pruned it every year because it would "reach out and grab me" each time I mowed there. Live and learn. E. has a big lilac bush that I mow around. It has several limbs that are dead in it and I need to trim it. Also have an apple tree and pear tree that she wants me to cut down. So will do that sometime in near future.

Guess you are tired of reading my novel, so will bid you all a good day.
Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured.

Jostoy. lilacs bloom off last years wood. The neighbor we share mailbox space with had one that I had never seen bloom and I ask her is she trimmed it. She said she did and was getting tired of caring for a bush that did nothing. She stopped trimming and this year it is going to bloom! JoGee it is Bath and Body..not sure if I told you the right place. The place with all the bath gels and lotions. They have the candles next to each wallflower and the smell is incredibly similar. Elaine, they have a White Linen scent too. Gosh, seems like I spend a of time in that place and should be getting paid for advertising!

Well, I have a news flash but it has not happened yet but it was mentioned so we will see. We were sitting around waiting for bus time and Sierra said her bf would be here on Thursday. Like the room got quiet and Jon and I looked at each other and he actually ask 'WHY?' Cracked me up but only on the inside because this is a big deal around here. I am shopping all day tomorrow and Jon is working so there will be no meal and we will just order pizza but that may be the best. Having to look at him over a meal I cooked could be upsetting to my digestive system. I refuse to walk on eggshells for this person and he will take us for the way we are but at least I will come home in a good mood since it is our ladies shopping day. Ladies shopping day is a big mood enhancer for all of us. May not buy a thing but it will be a good day!

Yesterday lunch was very nice...once i got there! All the RR crossing out of town are closed and after turning around twice I just drove to the police station and told them I was new to the area and how was I going to get out of town. Got some type of man directions so the office clerk wrote them down for me. She said she could tell by my face I was lost with his directions. BUT she did it by stop signs and left turns and I missed the turn reversing the directions and ended up way out of my way on country roads trying to get home. I just kept driving thinking I had to end up somewhere and I finally saw a familiar road and turned on it. Got home at the same time as Sierra so we drove back and she got me out of town a way I did not need directions. Down this road one turn and back on the main road. So why was I meandering on country roads? Everything is country around here and when you are directionally impaired you do not know what direction you are going. They came me directions to get me closer to the main road but Sierra knew I just needed a way around the crossing. It was an adventure but the sun was out and I had a full tank of gas.

Thinking it is breakfast for supper tonight. Has anyone noticed all the veggie recalls? Why all of a sudden am I worrying about listeria and e coli? Have we no standards left? A government plot to kill us all off? But really why is growing our food such a big deal that you cannot keep the dirt and water clean? And another complaint how come once the flu season is over stores no longer fill the antibiotic sheets dispensers? I like cleaning the cart handles with every use...and I did not get the flu or have a cold this winter. Now I am not saying everyone is germ ridden but why take the chance?

Ok enough complaining about germs and diseases. Need to make a store list and start laundry. Need to clean the bath and this evening will have a discussion with the rodent who is drying his dirty hands on my decorative towels. I'll get this mystery guy when he gets off the bus this afternoon.

Sunny today but clouds moving in...temps in the 40 this morning but warming into the 60s later. 70s tomorrow! 80 this weekend!! Going to do some planting and transplanting...maybe Spring is here!!

      Have a great day people!!

        Good morning.
Hot day ahead. No rain in sight, but the weather person on TV says “moisture coming to the NM border area” —- what a tease!

Elaine, I’ve had only one blood transfusion a couple years ago. But I’m a borderline case with my red cells always dropping, and they will say “let’s see how it looks next month; you might need a transfusion”. They haven’t figured out what makes my cell counts drop or rise.

Maxi, we have BBBs everywhere. Not sure I’ve seen a Bath and Body anywhere we go here. In face, the only one I’ve been in was in Albuquerque! Will google to see if there’s one here or in Phx.

Didn’’t get much done yesterday. Hope today is better for chores. I want E to help decide on a new pest/weed control company. The weeds have started growing, and need to be removed. Til then, he can spray the yard with general chemicals. He will have to get up much earlier than usual to do the spraying in this weather.

Wish I’d hear from the kids more often. I probably will when we move back to Phx.
Well, I’ve been up a while, had breakfast, and read the parts of the paper worth reading. Most of the news I don’t want to see much of any more. Too depressing. Did see a graph on supporting better education. Democrats are high on the list, the republicans much lower. Disinterested people fill the gap. How sad!

Wonder if E wants to go anywhere today....I’d like to. Oh, must call for a haircut appointment soon. My hair seems to have had a sudden growth spurt, and I don’t want E to mistake me for a floor mop! Hope I can get an appointment soon. With Mother’s Day coming up, the salons will soon be crowded.

Hope you all have a wonderful day! ☀️

Country roads! And streets with pot holes are my regular way to drive. And around here, if I can see thevtwo mountains, one north and one east, I can get my bearings...but north of Mt Shasta, going up to Stuart's, who knows?! One of my favorite directions I ever received was, Turn at the driveway where you see the dead skunk ...
A friend from here and still one of my best friends!

I went to Walmart after daycare and forgot two key items. So, I will be stopping by again today. I am typing blind on my iPad and it is hard to know if it is working.

This morning I was down that 1/2 pound and one more. I need to get back to thevtreadmill.

Elaine, camellias or gardenias would be my choice if there is the right shade available. Hydrangeas are one of my favorites but have been hard for me in my soil. Some people here have bushes as high as the side of their houses. But they need a lot of water...soil always damp.
What planting zone are you, Elaine?

I will check back later on my phone so I can read and type.

None of you are boring and I love the daily life you share!

Paula, that directional commment with the skunk is funny as all get out! 😂. What if another skunk or two were also hit in the meantime??? (When I lived in Texas, there were lots of dead skunks and armadillos. I’d be driving in circles)

When we lived on base in MS, our house had a plain Bush in front. I added white plastic roses to it, and it looked nice. One day I poured a lot of pickle juice on it....then later I decided to remove the plastic flowers. Lo and behold, the bush had sprouted white flowers of its own....it just needed a different Ph in the soil, and the pickle juice did the trick. I’m not sure if it was camellia or what.

Someone also planted a Pyrocanthus bush near it. Ugly thing, and kids were forever running into it. I got some shears and trimmed it up higher than the kids that ran through the yards, and voila! I was getting compliments on the “beautiful tree” we suddenly had.
Not that I’m good at flower gardens and such. MS was so wet that everything grew there. I couldn’t kill a plant for trying.
In fact, I even started a rose bush from a bouquet E gave me! The bouquet died, but one stem grew roots, so I planted it near the back door. It actually took root and grew a bit, and had one bloom before we left. Since then that housing area was wiped out by the hurricanes. Most of the base was.

Love Gardenias but you would never get one to grow outside around here. Dead skunk is funny! However, our roads are full of roadkill. I have always wondered how the Opossums have managed to not become extinct with so many smashed on the roads! You can order bed and bath on line but I normally only do that for the holidays so I am sure to get the Christmas scents that I already know. Their shops are always in the mall.

Afternoon all! It's a dreary one out there now. There was sunshine when we went out to the bus stop, but that didn't last long. Yesterday was dreary too.

Yesterday was a productive day. Baked a mixed berry pie, 4 carrot cakes, & 4 doz sugar cookies. Cooked salmon for dinner. It seems to be a favorite of my guys. Works for me! I love salmon. Had a relaxing evening.

This morning I was suppose to see my PCP, but they called yesterday afternoon and had to reschedule me. I still delivered their pie. I called Becca & ask her if she'd like to meet me for breakfast since I didn't have my appt anymore. We couldn't meet when I had the appt because she has to be at work by 1pm. We had a nice visit. I then went to the thrift store. Came home & tried everything on I got myself, and a couple of them were too small even though they were marked XL. Those are skinny XL's. I have a fatty tumor on my waistline, and I really don't like to wear anything tight that will show the bulge.

Now to figure out what I want to do this afternoon. I need to ice those sugar cookies. Leftovers for dinner before taking Blaise for karate lessons. He actually showed me the moves last night and seems excited.

I love lilacs. Didn't know about the trimming of them & lack of blooms. We trimmed ours back some last year because it was coming out onto the cars. I LOVE peonies too!

So....Maxie....what was Sierra's answer to WHY?
