  • It's Thursday Nov 2nd....right?

Good Morning! I don't have much time, so I'm going to get this started & come back to edit or add later.

The last few days have been busy, busy, busy. That Sue, she works me like a dog. LOL!

The last two days we rolled & baked 28 doz ladylocks plus a couple other kinds of cookies, then yesterday we rolled & baked off 39 doz sugar cookies and 15 doz maple twists. The wonderful thing? They all could be done with the convection mode. Just certain kinds of cookies can't be. That cut my baking time down by half. What a HUGE relief.

Yesterday after we were done baking or rather we quit at noon, Sue & I ran into town for lunch, a few errands, and the BIG stop....the thrift store which has half price on Wed. We were barely there, and her DIL called....her water broke. So we had to leave. It ended up her DIL's water hadn't broken, but because there's so much pressure on her bladder, she peed herself several times. Poor thing. They sent her home. She has a C-section scheduled for tomorrow.

I came home & finished baking off the sugar cookies, then took a nap. It's so darned dreary around here and wet. I NEED SUNSHINE!!!! I had a meeting at the church to finalize the plans and shopping list for the Community Thanksgiving Meal we are hosting for the first time this year. We are planning on 200 people. Came home & baked off the maple twists.

This morning is Bible study. Coming home from that and putting the finishing touches on all the cookies that we baked that need it. That will take all afternoon.

Paula....he was a magician. It got the costume for a dollar at a garage sale this summer....top hat w/secret compartment, cape, and wand. Super cute!

    Have a good one all!

Good Morning been up since 4:30 a.m., pain woke me up, tried going back to sleep but was to uncomfortable, darn AFib!! Blood pressure and heart rate was up, trying to ride out the storm, it seems to be subsiding a bit...while trying to no think about it I made my first batch of cinnamon ornaments, thought I best try one batch as a learning experience before I take the show on the road to GA to do it with the grandgirls...they are in the oven now...when they say use plastic wrap then one should listen, not wax paper LOL...much different than rolling out pie crust or cookie dough.. I can smell them now, house should smell good today.

I have a Remicade infusion at 1:00 sure hope this pain goes away before then, one good thing the heart Dr. is right in the same area if I need him...

I am losing hair like crazy, my scalp shows through, at this rate I will be out wig hunting again.

JoG glad E's surgery is over now he just needs to be patient, healing doesn't happen instantly...I know having some help would be wonderful but when they have families and obligations of their own it is not that easy...plus money and travel..

I don't have anything else planned today, the infusion will put me home at dusk and I don't like driving in rain and darkness...time to find some breakfast....

Have a good day one and all, find the ray of sunshine in your life...

Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God

They keep telling me that I go in and out of AFIB so have to stay on the blood thinner (maybe that is why I'm always cold)

Good Morning, freezing here, well don't know what the temp is but I feel like a popsicle. Told Molly that we were going to have to bring the electric blanket in. Candie is always hot and seldom even has covers so Molly and I curl up together under one.

Nothing happening here today so wishing you all have a great one.

I am on the run this morning. It should be a nice day here, but it is getting cooler, for sure.

My early child gave his two notice yesterday: I kind of thought it would be coming. It has always been about the money and one parent got a new schedule and so they are going to work out the afternoon shift and the day shift without daycare, which frees up for a fulltime child...or just let things go for awhile. I let a frined know who is always asking for people she works with and we will see. I had just told someone I didn't have any openings, too! But in all honesty, I probably would not have wanted her schedule and program pay plan...I got burned badly (lost 6 weeks of childcare pay) by someone on that same program.

anyway, I am off to open the door and be ready with a smile!
      Hope you all are, too!

        Good morning.
I slept through til almost 6 o’clock this morning. E is still abed, but says he has been waking a lot during the night. He has to wear that sling, and thigh high support hose, day and night, for a few days. I’m sure he’s more uncomfortable than he will say. Getting him dressed will be fun. I don’t see how to get a shirt on him. The one he wore yesterday kept creeping up to the sling. Well, we’ll get these things figured out as we go along, won’t we.

Got some good words of encouragement from our kids. For both of us. When did they get so smart?!!! I thank you all for the moral support and thoughts of us, too. 🤗

I have an errand to run today. E wants to go along. I think he is going to pick out some comfort foods. But he deserves it, without a doubt. He’s trying to keep on doing all his normal things, but does need help now and then.
I think I’ll ask the kids to give him a call this week.

I think I have more laundry to look forward to today. Might go through my shoes to see what still won’t fit me, and give those to Goodwill .... I’m sure they’ll appreciate them. They’re good quality and still like new. I’ll replace them with adjustable sandals which I wear all the time these days.

I’m glad I made up all those meat loaf patties for the freezer. I have a few potatoes in the pantry that I want to make into latkies (potato pancakes). That’s one of my comfort foods. E tolerates them. Got lots of frozen veggies. I’m stuck with a big bag (like from Costco) frozen Spring Rolls, which E hates. But I like them okay.

        Have a good day! ☀️

Fog is burning off but the windows are steamy...the only thing that could make this morning uglier is if it were snowing!!! Andrew is coming in with his jacket stuffed in his back pack every afternoon so that means on these cold blustery mornings he is just wearing a jacket. He hates coats and being bound up but someone should be paying attention mornings when get goes to the bus stop. Or maybe grandma's are just always going to worry about their kiddies being cold. When I am cold I think the whole world is cold!

Going to get a pot of stuffed peppers on this morning. My sister made a batch earlier this week and they sounded so good. The other night Andrew had to shower here because his mother was having water problems. Poor boy had to put his dirties back on because he had outgrown all the socks, underwear and sleep pants so yesterday I added a bunch of money to my grocery bill and shopped at walmart. That boy has grown this summer. He almost ran us all down getting to the door when the bell rang after supper. I seem to have a package coming in every day and he ask before opening then rips into it. Wish he would be this enthusiastic when it comes to wrapping! Wish they all would lend a hand with that.

Need to run the vacuum today and run the dishwasher. Bet I could scrape up a couple of leads of laundry without looking to hard. Do not intend to leave the house for sure. Will be thinking of Jo and her E today...this recovery will be hard on both of them. Sharon hope you get to feeling better soon. Cookie how can you stand on your feet all day like that? But your house must always smell good. Darla, I love my electric mattress. Makes my bed so toasty but I am thinking of replacing it with an electric throw like you mentioned. I can haul that around it I need! Have a good day everyone.

Mine is an actual blanket, queen size, duel control. My brother and sister in law bought it for me last year for Christmas.

Darla, fleece outfits are part of this autumn/winter clothing line. And wear warm socks! That should help warm you up.

Boffler, it’s been quite a while since I made cinnamon ornaments! They were fun. And I love the smell. I added a wee bit of cloves to the cinnamon to boost the aroma. I hope your pain goes away quickly. I’m sorry you go through all that.

Paula, you have more to consider for child care than I’d have expected. I’m sure you’ll have no problem filling the space without any hassle. Wish sitters were more like you when my kids had them.

            Good evening

a busy day but not really?... does that make sense?... Our local restaurant has a special breakfast with a pumpkin flavor pancake. lower price too.. David loves it... so he wanted to get his Breakfast at lunch time.. combined that with filling the gas tank ,and also a stop at the Library.. there went a big chunk out of the morning ...
Then,,, the Camping Weekend is picking up tempo... Granddau Shawna, the new Mom .. said they were going up , ..and now her Dad, Mom.
brother Ian and wife, and Logan, the First Great Grand .. are going to camp also.. I bought all the ingredients I needed to make a HUGE pot of spagetti sauce.. got it on cooking about 2pm. and let it simmer until 6pm.. set and cool down.. will refrigerate.. and take that to camp.. as my contribution to meals.

in between stirring and keeping eye on sauce , I read , read read.. who needs to clean when you are leaving the house for the weekend?>.

so If I am absent Sat and Sun.. you will know I am away..
Paula.. when I had piano students , you could always tell who was about to "leave".. and most of the time I was glad..... like you I have a waiting list. so no trouble filling in the time.. hope you get a really nice child next.. ( with nice ,consider it parents .)
