  • It's hump day, Wed. Oct. 28th, the month is fast passing

Good Morning world, are you ready for me?

I need to start this morning my clearing up a misconception caused by my brain and fingers not working together as they should.

Yesterday I made a statement in my morning reply that my "husbands wife was coming to my house to work on my dishwasher", what it should have said was, "my cousins wife"...well I had no idea I had misspoke until my good buddy jostoy called and as we were talking she ask me how long we had known each other, I responded, "since 1997-1998", she then said, "All those years and I never knew your husband was a bigamist"!! WHAT'D YOU SAY??? I got all hot and sweaty, shook up, etc., then she told me about my morning post. Well while we were on the phone I edited it, went back later and saw that Nalani had caught what I had said also. Well maybe I should proof read what I write, LOL...made for great entertainment...Jo Doug did get a good laugh from it, but told me to tell you that one crazy lady is all he needs in his life/wife.

Got my laundry and dusting done yesterday, today is a rainy cold day outside, so I think I am going to bake some bread, some fresh out of the oven, butter on a slice sounds so good, then will fix some beef and noodles to go with it for supper..over mashed potatoes, and some peas...

For some reason lately I have been in the baking mood, cooking mood, etc. maybe because I have been so sick of late that I am trying to play catch up. I don't want this feeling to go away, it sure makes me count my blessings, I usually do anyways, but even more so lately. It's great that others are seeing me again, my ole cheerful, funny, crazy woman..but also a loving caring woman also. My Aunt that was here over the weekend just couldn't tell me enough how I seemed like my ole self again..When I am feeling good I try and get in all that I can because since having Crohn's since 1983 I know how fleeting these times can be, I was in remission one time for over 5 yrs. and it felt great..

I have two cats, and I know at night time for some reason they get on top of my counters, I have seen paw prints on my stove, so my routine every morning is to wipe down my countertops with Clorox wipes..when my cousin stayed here she noticed what I did each morning, and said, "your countertop is always clean why do you get up every morning and wipe it down?" she cracked up when I told her I am pretty sure my cats get up there at night and sing and dance to their own drummer and are laughing at me..

Well folks, time to read the news, make my bed, get dressed and get this party started..

Love, hugs, best wishes for a wonderful day for all of you..

Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God

Sharon, your post made me smile. So glad you are feeling better and enjoying life once again.

Rainy and very windy here still. I went to bed at 7pm yesterday and totally missed the storm that raged through last night.

No celebration for Erin's birthday yet - waiting to get a paycheck and THEN we will do something. She understands, thankfully.

    Otherwise, not much happening here.

    Y'all have a good 'un.

The only person you should try to be better than is the person you were yesterday.

Good RAINY Morning! They actually posted 100% chance today. It started last night and is suppose to go clear through tomorrow morning. Blah!

Yesterday was good...sort of. Our Becca-Boo went back to school until Thanksgiving. That time will fly fast. Actually in a week & a half my friend Maureen & I will be going up to visit Becca when Mo is visiting for our annual applesauce & apple butter weekend. Mo has been wanting to see Becca's college for the last couple of years but with us living in OH, it just never happened. Anyways, my Mom ask me to drive her into WM to order new glasses since her's broke. We saw Blaise get off the bus from school, Becca said her goodbyes to him, and then we left. She met us at Arby's & we had lunch before she continued back to school. Mom ordered 2 pr of glasses and I ended up picking the same frames I have just a little bit redder. The other frames were much more expensive and these were only $28, so it was a no brainier to me since we don't have eye insurance. I wear progressive lenses and get the almost thinnest ones I can get, so the lenses are pretty expensive. If I didn't get the thin ones, it would look like I was wearing Coke bottles...I have bad eyes. Stopped at Aldi's and then headed home. I was worn out. Kathy actually showed up...to shower & eat...then left for the night. Watched NCIS and then a couple shows I had recorded.

Sharon....I got caught the other day with a typing error that Aunt J thought was humorous....I typed lived in Freeport 5 DAYS instead of 5 YEARS concerning the snake. I saw your typo too, but thought maybe you were on good terms with Doug's ex. LOL!

Today is cooking day for my cousin Karen. She's starting a new diet for her arthritis...the paleo diet. Making her chicken & veggies and the rest of the family creamy chicken. I'll have to learn more about how to cook paleo stuff. Not sure what the rest of my day will bring.

I've been in the baking mood lately. I have a freezer with 2 shelves full of cookies for no other reason than I wanted to bake. I've been giving out sample plates to perspective customers in hopes that they'll order. I did get my first Christmas & Thanksgiving order on Friday. I had mailed letters with cookie & pie lists to people I had list back in 2007 and the customer that called was so excited that I was back in the area. She ordered 4 pumpkin rolls for Tkgvg, so I'll bake them next week while I'm making my friend Maureen's that I'll be sending back with her.

Best get busy....have a good one all!

Good morning I am hoping today is better...I learned wake up slowly then text mom... I explained to her that she needs to explain herself..not just send me a text that she says she is in a crisis...she totally understood and apologized. She and Daddy are coming for a few days next week..I have a few things that I need to do and I need her here with access to my money. I ended up not taking the bus to my doctor's appointment...I missed the bus as I was not in the right spot on the road. It was raining I was under the awning of the building that I was told the bus stopped in front of....evedently you need to be exactly in front of the bus stop sign or they won't stop. I will try the bus thing again on Friday...I don't have to be any place at any exact time..

I volunteered yesterday it was much much better...I really enjoyed it..the people remembered me and one even told me she loved me...

I did go to the doc my sis just had to take me...I really really liked everything about the new doctor's office...

Today is my meeting day in Saint Louis my sis will take me...and tonight is Trunk or Treat at church.

Another dreary, drippy, rainy day here in the sunny south. Took my wake-up liquid out to the patio......got my butt wet......forgot to wipe off chair before I sat down. Nice way to start a day.

Will be the designated driver for WR for his eye doc appt. a little later today. Hmmm.....wonder if they'd mind a grumpy old lady sitting in their waiting room with her warm, fuzzy robe and tennis shoes on. No ??? You're probably right - that might not win any prizes for me today.

Alrighty then.....off to the showers. Take care.

            Good Morning.

Still no snake. Have given up worrying about it. I do think King would alert us if he saw it.

So speaking of King, John's arm is still inflamed and swollen, so we went back to doc yesterday. Another shot. Doc wants him to have one more.

Trying Beef w/Broccoli for lunch. Hoping for the best but anticipating the not so good. Never used beef in a Chinese recipe beore.

            Hugs to Everyone.

              Good morning...
It's a cool 57° right now, supposed to get to the mid-80's again (not what yesterday's forecast said). Anyway, the next few days should have highs in the low 70's, with some rain in the forecast.

Started cleaning up the paperwork in our computer room yesterday. Eventually it'll be an exercise room .... supposedly. Will work on that more today.
Also need to make a quick run to the grocery store. It's Seniors day at Frys (Kroger), so an extra discount for us.

Sounds like everyone is in good spirits today, even despite rain? I like to wear bright colors on rainy days. Not only does it make one more visible in the dreary outside, but boosts the spirits of one's self and others. (A coworker once told me that my bright colors improved the attitudes of many people, on those dreary days.)

Well, I'm going to bring in today's paper, get my hot tea, fill my pill case for this week, then get my day going.

Have a great day, everyone. 😄

Good morning, all. Woke to a nice surprise. It rained during the night. Not a big rain, more a mist but it was enough to make Lily take a very short potty trip.

I'm not surprised that many are in a baking mood. I am but probably won't have time today I think it's just that time of year. I want to make some more of the cranberry, white chocolate cookies. I think I put the recipe in the annex.

Today is senior lunch and it's Teriyaki beef so I'll have that. I missed Monday as I was shopping and then we had Chinese food at my favorite restaurant. Either they have changed cooks or are getting careless as my chicken was overdone. Didn't complain but if it happens again I will.

I must confess, Sharon that I caught the error, too but didn't mention it. Glad to see you're feeling better and hope it continues.

Elaine, I hope you enjoy your Beef and Broccoli. Tip from a long time Oriental cooking fan. Be very, very sure not to overcook the meat. If it tells you to cook the meat and veggies together DON'T DO IT! Cook meat first, remove from pan, cook the veggies, put meat back when you add the sauce, and you're done.

All, I cannot bake a large number of cookies as the only freezer I have is the one on top of the fridge. Would have brought the small freezer if I had had a place to put it but there is no electricity in the two storage areas.

                Later, all.

It rained yesterday and is Raining this morning! It was raining around 3:00 when I let the dog out for a potty break.
Barb, I hope you are getting rain, too.
Our garbage trucks came earlier than usual and both are back behind the fence. On to the next thing...
Sharon, the fresh bread and butter sounds perfect! I have a Baking Bucket list that has brioche and Challah bread right at the top. I don't like bread machine bread. Maybe I just didn't have a good enough bread machine, but the texture felt off. Anyway, I have a baking calendar set up to start on that bucket list...
Bethina, your post here sounds like things are already looking up!
                  Another child just drove up.
                  Have a good day!

Rained all day yesterday...yay!...now it is time to move on. Got what we needed and I'm done. Today is day one of the big vacation and son is sleeping in...what the heck? I'm up and roaring to go. Also need to call direct tv and get my tv fixed. I Have one channel and thank goodness it is the hallmark channel. Don't know what happened but it is frozen and won't even turn on and off through the box. I had to go to Sierra's room to watch NCIS! Hopefully that will be taken care of today. Eldest son called last night and has made a bid on an house. I dunno, so much money. I would not want to live the lives of these kids...of course he is 41 so maybe not such a kid? Sierra had a class cancelled and just walked in. She is going to eat her lunch for breakfast but wish she would be a little less gabby. Some of us are just getting up to face to world. Well, looks like day one of vacay is off to a slow start or no start so far. Promised cream of broccoli soup for supper so need to get moving. Rain, go away, you had your day!

                      Good almost afternoon.

slept in again until 7.30 ...wow . this is great except I feel like I'm running behind all day.
I like that "set-in- the chair" hour with coffee and crossword from newspaper... but
I gathered up the load for washer. then tackled the refrigerator.. tossed out something that was moldy.?.. and reorganized all the other stuff into smaller containers.. the Ham I baked Monday in Donna's borrowed cooker.. turned out delicious!.. it belonged to son Mark. he came, yesterday . cut me off a bunch and took the rest home to divide between him and his 2 kids... I made a bowl of ham salad with some of mine.. great sandwich coming up today..

Hrh. hey, the next time I have to go for 7am lab work..please dare me to go in my P. J.s and robe.I will if you will..
Sharon,, I too saw the ex-wife thingy. and you and she being buddies.. and smiled and smiled.. how cosy .... Love Typo errors... makes for fun on the RT.. and you are showing all your wonderful sides , which we do know you have , and go missing when you are ill. no fault of yours .it the darn disease. .. may you be in remission a long time...
Rain in California... .. even a little helps.
Bethina,, you have such a great attitude .. not to let the bus schedule upset you!.

Maxie, our young people ( at 41?,young? ).. are braver than we were .. they except debt . and they might as well go there for a house... if bad times hit and he would lose it... he would be in the company of lots and lots of others.

Paula , had a bread machine.. it died, and I never bothered to replace it.. like making the dough myself. hope the kids were good today
JoG. we are getting a steady rain today. slow , wet .. so good day to clean out fridge and now headed to big freezer
and speaking of freezer, Barb get a small one..tuck it in any corner of any room.. put a table cloth on top and use as a stand. ..

better get back to work before I the lazy sets in.. see you this evening .

Take it one Day , one step, at a time.. cause that's all we really have.

So far, so good, Maye! Snack time and the Natives are calming down...cheesy roll ups. Which means a corn tortilla with shredded cheese, cooked and rolled.
Do you believe Taco Bell actually sells them and this is what they call them? Mi would call it a rip off! Taco: no meat, no lettuce, no sauce.

Today sure did fly by. Lincare came with my new Nebulizer. Then FedEx delivered the meds for it. Between the two the time should be cut down from half an hour to 15 min. or less.

Grandson power washed the house today. Tomorrow he will work for the business on a bigger job. Then Sat. he will do a Sam's run for me. He is certainly coming in handy. He's worth the money and saves my sons from having to do so much. Get the Dr. appointment out of the way Fri. afternoon and things should be done for awhile until Dec.

Had brisket today. All the guys enjoyed that. I did also but my low salt diet didn't approve.
