Sun this morning and rain this afternoon. Sun and warm together for 24 hours would be a nice change.

Jon put a turkey breast in the crock pot last night so I am thinking we are having turkey for supper tonight. See how sharp I am mornings after a cup of coffee? He is off today so may fix the rest of the meal? Not likely but at least I have no planning to do. However, I do have a grocery shopping to do. Ask Andrew last night if he wanted to dye eggs next week and I got the biggest run around...have no idea if he wants to dye or not. I think he will if Sierra is home. His mother never dyed eggs with him so he always did it with Sierra. I would be sad if our egg dying days were over...

Blues won again last night in over time. That is 3 games in a row with overtime wins. Exciting! I dvr'd Survivor and watched it before going to bed. For some reason I can not find a favorite to cheer on this season. I think they are just an unpersonable group..not to my liking anyway.

A stomach flu and strep throat are going around now on top of the other diseases. Saw on the news that some idiot did not vaccinate their child and has exposed the city of St. Louis' tourist sights to measles. I do not care much about your beliefs but endangering an entire population because of your religious or medical hangups is criminal. Andrew was at the Science Center on the contaminating weekend. Now a days people do not understand the dangers of measles or the birth defects and deaths they caused. Maybe we need to re-educate people on why these vaccines were invented and the lives they changed.

Jon is meeting Drew's mother at school for a meeting so is up early and Sierra was up but went back down with an upset stomach. I am still in my jammies and thinking another cup of coffee sounds good.

Hoping each of you have a healthy day with plenty of sunshine and warm temps.

Maxie I've seen some who claim the vaccines cause autism. I wish those would look at what the actual illness causes. They are not only exposing everyone but their child

Good windy morning! I can hear it howling around and haven't looked out, yet to see what the sky looks like. It is supposed to be rain and wind the next three days.
I shared the video of my grandsons playing in the snow in Md. yesterday. Their day was out in it with them urging them on to throw snowballs at each other.

I still dye eggs for the daycare. although the eggs I hide are all plastic. These kids like boiled eggs, so I keep those inside. I am taking off Good Friday and will plan our party and egg hunt for the Monday after Easter. That is the week the elementary schools is out and we will do egg hunts all week.

I am later this morning. I just stayed in bed a bit longer and then have taken my time...

The plumber got here during nap time, but I was so happy to have the clogged toilet taken are of, I didn't mind the noise at all.

I need to go open up the daycare and get my day started.
These storms are so bad. I hope you all are staying safe and inside as much as possible.

Good SUNNY Morning! We ended up getting 8" of snow yesterday....big difference from the 1-3 they predicted.

Yesterday was good. It took me forever, but I got the last of the baked sugar cookies iced. YEA!!! I left the hardest for last...the Easter basket. I put a base coat of icing on it, then do the basket weave on the bottom & green "grass" on the top. I then put 5 "eggs" in the grass. They are cute, but take at least an hour to ice a dozen.

I had an eye appt at 10am, but a few hundred feet down the road going down the hill, I decided it just wasn't worth the risk, so we found a place to turn around and came home. Called & rescheduled my appt to today and they had time to also do Blaise, so we'll kill two birds with one stone. Came home, iced, and did up all the laundry. Sorted thru my desktop and now need to sit & pay bills. Found a new phn # with an order written on the paper. Don't remember the call at all, but I put it on my list. Think I may need to bake another small round of sugar cookies. Dang! Oh well, need the $$ to pay the house tax.

I slept in real late this morning. Hate when I do that. I could be dead back there, and Blaise would never check on me. He just sees it as an opportunity to play more games on the TV. Thoughtless child!

Need to bag up the sugar cookies into orders and see where I stand. I have the cookie recipes out that I need to mix up and bake in the next week. Cork wants me to mix up and bake some Easter bread for the guys at work. The roads are clear, so we'll be going for our eye appt and deliver the doctor's office pie early this afternoon. I think my day is planned out for me. Just wished I hadn't slept in.

Maxie...I sort of understand the reason why some don't want to vaccinate their children, but like you said, they haven't experienced the consequences of the real diseases. I know there is something to all the Autism, and believe it has something to do the all the shots, but I think (as if anyone ask me) it's because those poor little ones are given so many at one time. Spread them out so they don't overwhelm their little bodies. JMHO

      Have a good one all!

        Good morning, everyone.

Looks like a partly cloudy day all day here. It’s supposed to hit 92° this afternoon, then the next couple of days will be 80 again, and drop after that yet again. Crazy weather, really crazy. But I wish I could share this warmth with you.

Didn’t sleep well last night, but only got up once. I slept in this morning a bit longer than I liked, but oh well.

No plans for today. I do need to catch up with laundry, though.
        Then, whatever else comes up.

I don’t think I’ll dye eggs this year. No sense to it any more. Kids don’t visit. E & I can’t do Easter egg hunts for each other. 🙄.
This weekend, though, we have Gaslight Theater to look forward to with niece & nephew. She emailed me about dinner beforehand at a steakhouse they like.

Can’t think of anything else to add. Guess I need a shower to completely wake up today.

Have a good day. 🤗. Hugs for whoever needs them.

Good morning. It’s sunny out and 40 degrees I’ll take it. Hubby and I are both sick, low grade temp, chills, achy, tired I could go on but will stop there, you get the point. So don’t feel like talking or much of anything. This too shall pass.
Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God

Here are some facts that counter the common misconceptions about vaccines and children:

Scientific studies continue to show that vaccines do not cause autism. The original article that sparked the fears and controversy years ago was shown to be fraudulent, and the lead author has lost his medical license. Since then, DOZENS of large studies of millions of children have found no evidence of a connection.
Vaccines have never contained methyl-mercury — a toxic metal that can accumulate in the body and cause brain damage. Before 2001, some vaccines contained thimerosal — a safe preservative made of ethyl-mercury. And even then, to prevent confusion, the FDA ordered that it be removed from childhood vaccines. The flu vaccine in multi-dose vials still uses it, although thimerosal-free versions are available.
There is NO evidence that spreading out or delaying the timing of a child’s vaccinations has any tangible benefit.
Here’s another thing you should know about vaccines. Older adults need them too. Here’s why:

As we age, our immune system weakens. Older adults are more likely to be infected and develop complications from vaccine-preventable diseases.
Immunity from some vaccines can decrease over time, which means booster doses are necessary to maintain protection. Also, some bacteria or viruses change over time; this makes annual vaccinations necessary.
Older adults are more likely to have a chronic condition, which can increase the risk of diseases such as influenza. Skipping a vaccine can have serious health consequences.

I had a tetanus shot before my melanoma surgery 5 years ago...had no idea the shots effectiveness wore off. The measles, mumps, rubella shots were new with my sons and I look at how quickly those diseases were contained. I do not know why there has been an increase in autism but I do think a lot of these kids through the centuries were just plain misdiagnosed with other ailments. Babies were born with birth defects because of the measles and many others died from suffering the disease. I truly think parents should be reeducated on the effects of these diseases. Not to many people remember how devastating smallpox was a century ago..in fact it has been eradicated to the point that kids are no longer required to be vaccinated. And I agree that if you do not care about infecting my kids you should care about protecting yours.

As a daycare provider I am required to have vaccinations.
I had them as a child and had to
            Get them again last year.

Paula, do you require the daycare kids to be vaccinated also? Just wondering.
