  • Monday ~ October 2

    Good Morning.

I've been up since 4 - no reason - watching all the horror in Las Vegas. Everybody is going to have an opinion about guns and mental illness today. Keeping the TV off.

Trip to cancer center. I'm not expecting good news after last week with chemo. We'll know by 3p if more blood is needed.

    Hugs to Everyone.

Good morning..I am feeling better than Saturday...still not great..and if I had my way I would spend one more day in bed and go to Florida in the morning..but I don't really think that calling in when I am taking the rest of the week off would look good.

      Good morning ..

Bethina, hope you get to feeling better ,cant start a trip feeling sick..
Elaine.Hope John's numbers are good this time .
. David's sister Bonny does not have cancer, but is getting infusion every so often,, she is not Making enough blood to keep her oxygen level high enough..she is a really heavy lady.and is in Congestive heart failure..she lives in a Care type residence..we generally go visit her in October. but David don't think he would like a 2 1/2hr ride now.. once he can get his back pain back under control.. why aggravate it with a trip?..She is 11 years younger than him .

David has appt. with PCP to review all hospital tests and to see how he is doing ...hoping to pin a reason for this Blood Pressure that goes up and down..

      will check in later ..

        Good morning. ☕️

This morning we pack up and go home. It has been a nice visit with the kids. Didn't get to see any of the great-grands this time around.
Now, back home to reality. Got lots of cleaning and sorting to do. But mainly, hearing from his surgeon about his surgery getting set up.

Elaine, we hope johns medical readings show something positive for him.
Beth, I hope you're feeling better for your trip. Maybe the sunshine at the beach will help.
Maye, I hope that the doctor's get Davids medical problems in order.

And now I think I'll start sorting my stuff to pack. Need something to do til E wakes up.

        Have a great day, everyone.

Good Morning to all...the sun is shining would be nice if it could warm hearts of steel...

I can truly say I am physically and mentally worn out....since going on vacation and one day back and losing Grandpa and all the driving and stress of that has just done me in...each day was and hour and 45 min. drive one way, so late getting home, cooking and doing it over again has just done me in...but I do have physical therapy again today, I really think they milk these things to much and intend on telling them that I am fine now, I do the exercises at home not just the two times a week for the 45 mins. sessions...

And now this coming weekend hubby's sister wants us to come down to help her start clearing out the house, which we found out is being left to her, and pretty much everything he had is being left to her...so not sure why she is needing help when they live right across the road from his house and can take their time getting it ready...To put it mildly she has been a real *itch during this whole thing, being left in charge has made it go to her head, not her heart...

Aunt Maye hope they find out what cause David's blood pressure to spike, and no, a trip would not be good for several reasons.
Elaine, sure wish things were different for John and you, sure it has to wear both of you out with all the travel and such.
Maxie painting can be really hard on a person, it sure is me...I am not a work horse like jostoy, LOL
Paula, that food 'stuff' would drive me crazy.. or crazier as one might say.Hope things continue to go well on your house.
jostoy, still no surgery date for you? Why does it take so long?
Bethina, sure hope you feel better soon.
Darla, great finds you found at that sale...

Time to get a move on, hubby went to the office and I am enjoying the peace and quiet so much I might not get much done but taking it all in...

Have a great day one and all, watching and waiting for the leaves to turn brown and start falling, I think I am looking forward to fall and winter, much more down time...
Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God

We were typing at the same time, Sharon.
Our cousin lived in Bloomfield Hills, MI.
Love reading all your posts. How is Doug doing with the real estate?

Oh Sharon it is a nothing recipe...you know I cannot cook! But Sierra likes scalloped potatoes. I just use potatoes, flour, butter and evap milk. The boys will add a sprinkle of cheddar on theirs but we girls like them plain with ham. Like I have always said nobody comes home asking for mama's recipes!

Good morning! cooler here and it even felt a little too cool last night. I had to shut my window almost all the way closed.
Elaine, I will probably not put the news on. I read enough as I turned on the computer and usually have on some news to hear the weather, but I don't want the kids hearing all this.

Jo, you asked about how potatoes are listed: in their own category as a vegetable. Starting today we are mandated to have a fruit and a vegetable (I almost always did) whereas before we could have two fruits or two vegetables..so you could have mashed potatoes and carrots and get counted for your meal. Now there has to be a fruit and a veg in your menu. It all is fine with me about that; I have some of everything because I have such picky eaters.

I need to go get my day started. New month and new calendar up and if should be feeling like Fall!
Hope you all can spread some cheer today.
Hoping David is doing well and the same good thoughts for John.
          Take care, Friends!

I knew you would have state regulations but to have the feds visit? With food rules and kids with food allergies and whatever else can happen in a day care you must have a stack of paperwork! Then on top of all that you put up with parents and then the kids themselves...I never realized how hard it would be!

Morning...have been up since the middle of the night then when I heard Jon leave I took a nap instead of starting the day. No wonder I don;t get anything done around here...I play time games. The porch is painted as much as I can without a ladder. The yard slopes and a section needs a ladder to finish up but I was told that my son did not want to see a large part of my body climbing a ladder. Personally, I do not want to see any part of my body on a ladder so will give him a couple of days to finish the painting. Then we paint the deck and steps, hang the lattice, call the landscaper to at least till and seed the front and, viola, done and done good! I know he worked his fanny off yesterday with the pool and did it all alone but he only has a few days until I will undertake to finish the painting myself!

Did a couple of loads of laundry yesterday before calling it a day. Everyone has new jeans so they needed to be washed in a separate load and then that pile of towels. Will finish that up today plus make a grocery run. I have a taste for scalloped potatoes and have a piece of ham stashed away in the deep freeze. Sierra loves my scalloped potatoes and that may entice her to stay home for a meal...and do the dreaded math! Hope she gets up soon to haul groceries. Boy does this family go through food! I am hoping it is the season change...the only thing I could find last night was bread and milk...isn't that the stuff you are suppose to always run out of? Not here!

Woke this morning to news of the Las Vegas slaughter. OMG! What is wrong with the world? How in the hell did that man get a machine gun and why was it allowed? Deer hunting or duck shooting? Amazing. Can't get food delivered to Puerto Rico but anyone can get guns with free shipping and door to door delivery. I gotta tell you this is a scary time and I wonder if that nut case who said the world was going to end last week may be right. Hurricanes, earthquakes, massacres and even a crazy man in the white house telling his own secretary of state the dealing with Korea is a waste of time. What idiot sabotages his own peace talks in public? on twitter? Lord help us all!

Guess I need to get moving. Always lots to do on a Monday...especially if you want to eat this week!

          Good Morning!

I know there is sad news, but I'm over joyed with the healing of our kitty Calipso. For a week now the left side of her face has been puffed out & hard. At first she didn't wince, but about Thursday she started wincing and not showing herself but once a day to eat. Friday when she was in to eat, I got a hold of her, prayed over her, and put some Neosporin on the area. Last night when I came home, she was inside, and talking up a storm. The side of her face was back down to normal, no wincing, and there was just a big ole scab under her jawline. I think she popped whatever it was. I've got my old Calipso back! PTL!!!!!!

This weekend was my final pie weekend at the stand. Now this coming weekend if anyone places an order, I'll fill it. Kathy picked Blaise up from the church when we were done, so I had the afternoon to myself. After delivering the pies, I headed into town to GROCERY SHOP....surprise, surprise. Came home and got the fresh peach pie made for my brother's birthday "cake" and Corky's food for his lunches for the week. We then went to my brother's for pizza & pie to celebrate his birthday. Now our ages are straight in a row until my birthday in January when I jump ahead again. Well....I'm always ahead being the oldest. Us ladies then played cards and Cork went and picked up Blaise.

This morning we woke up late, but enough time for Blaise to catch the bus. I was still so tired, so I set the alarm for 20 minutes and went back to sleep. An hour & a half later I woke up. I feel good now. Guess I needed it. Got the restaurant's order ready and delivered. Now to start icing at least 8 doz cookies but hopefully all 13 doz. Soccer practice this evening.

I keep shooting bullet prayers for those affected by last night's horror. Evil has reared it's ugly head again.

          Have a good one all!

I've read some of the news since posting here. It is crazy in the world. I tend to avoid crowds at all costs.
Who says we don't need gun control/restrictions?
Sharon, you're so funny - made my day.! How can you speak of the end of the world and ask for a new recipe at the same time! 😂
Come to think of it, that dish sounds very good, Maxie. I'd have it for breakfast if I could. Please post it for us.

Good afternoon, Dr appointment this morning this morning. Since the Drs volunteer their time you don't get the same one every time. Have liked the ones I've had so far but really like the one today. Younger woman and very thorough. My thyroid numbers are up so have to get a sonogram on it. BP was good, A1C still high but not really bad. She said the thyroid can affect the other problems so need to see what is going on with it.

Maryanne called while I was at Dr. Called her back when I got home and she was at the store, she called back when she got home (She calls and I call her back, I have unlimited minutes and she has a tracfone) so we had a nice talk.

              Everyone have a wonderful day

                good evening

Davids appt with pcp concerning his BP. and trip to hospital.. Dr.Sam had to read all the facts of all the test they done on the computer screen. decided to raise the new pill from a 5g. to 10.. the list of BP readings I had kept showed it was still jumping all over the place, so he will start larger pill tomorrow.. Dr Sam had a dr in training with him today. .and explained everything to him.. so it was a long extended visit and I made sure to ask a lot of question.. Officially he has "hypertension".. probably due to Age, stressing about his balance problem. with the Diabetes,, his kidneys aren't functioning that great.. so a lot of stuff combined keeping BP up........ soo... if David will just accept he is getting old.. and use that darn CANE.. live would be simple for me..

have caught some of the news, but since I don't watch much Tv.. and I hate being stressed about Things I cannot do anything about,,(but Pray)..
so many wonderful things happen in this country.. but the news focuses on the terrible "new making" situations.. tragic.

see you in the morning ..
