  • Friday ~ September 29 ~ Good Morning!

Looks like only JoG and I are on the RT at the moment.

I had a very strange night, with little sleep and a cat who wanted to be fed, so I'm wandering aimlessly at this point.

About bed making. All my life I have made beds. Couldn't tolerate an unmade bed. Now I'm reading that airing the bed is more important than making it.
Although I have carloads of former and present bedspreads for the "main" bed, John cannot tolerate heavy quilts or spreads, so I have removed them all, and he is down to a sheet. For my bed, I now leave the spread atop the chest at the foot of the bed and forget both of them are essentially unmade - but aired!! Ha Ha!

So waiting for Nancy to decide if she wants lunch out. If so, I will come home, pick up John and go to cancer center for last chemo shot for this month.
Thankfully, he has tolerated it very well, only one afternoon with a bit of a stomach issue.

Well, better carry on. Have a lovely day.

maxie, I could never live in town, although I grew up in a big city. I'm fine with no neighbors and no traffic (and nowhere to shop).

    Hugs ~ ~ ~

    Good morning.
Had to preheat the Keurig machine for my morning mocha. Geez, it's a noisy thing. It's got 2 sets of noises....one set when heating water, and a second noise added when your cuppa whatever is brewing.
Today we will be packing the car and take stuff to the kids in Phoenix. Will stay there this weekend.

E did get our sink fixed. The "snake" didn't do anything, so he took the pipes apart. What a mess. Cleaned those and put it back together. Still stopped up. Then he bought Liquid Plumber. The directions said if it didn't unclog in aa certain amount of time, to call a plumber. Well, it didn't, but he let it sit overnight. Voila! By morning it was cleared, we let that under-sink cabinet dry out a few more before putting things back. Honestly, not everything fit back under there, so I put the cleaning stuff in a basket, and will be cleaning stuff next week. I'd already started on the guest bathroom, which is also my bathroom.

We've been leaving our beds "aired", Elaine. It's handier if we might need naps. E is usually the last one up and so he used to make the bed. We have the top sheet, and my half of the bed has a blanket. I'm the one who chills easily, and the A/C comes on even if I think it shouldn't. It has a mind of its own.

I texted my youngest DD (who has been dealing with depression). Just some words that might be encouragement or uplifting. I plan to do this at least weekly. I think it's the best way I can help her through this. She is getting treatment/med's for it, but it's not always effective. Her DH is very supportive, and they're looking for better doctors there in WA.
I will not be seeing GD this weekend who has depression/anxiety/paranoia, this weekend. Her mom thinks it's not a good idea yet. I wonder if the drug damage could be permanent? We will find out, I suppose. This GD is the mother of our autistic child. A difficult and sad situation.

Well, I'd better go get dressed and get stuff together. I wonder how E is going to manage some of this stuff without the use of his one arm. I doubt I can handle the major item he's giving SIL.

I'll likely be checking in, but if there's anything to prevent that I'll still be reading. Some hotels have a really crappy WiFi system.

    Have a great day.

Another sunny morning but very cool this morning. I, also, did not sleep well last night and ran into Sierra coming out of the kitchen with the same complaint. So this morning i have a headache and blah feeling...good thing I have no plans for the day!

Bed airing..I love it! Sounds so much better than I didn't feel like making the bed. I knew that was a ruse from all the OCD people in the world to get me to make my bed! Well today the bed is airing!

Last night we ended up eating at Steak and Shake. It was very good for a change and I could thaw some cube steak for tonight but I think Sierra said she was not going to be home. That in itself is not a big deal since she is seldom home anymore but tonight is a special night for her...their 10 MONTH anniversary. Ten months and I still have teeth that have not been ground into nubs!

Got my haircut yesterday and picked up no gossip or town news but got another wonderful haircut.

Tomorrow is our trip to Sikeston and I am looking forward to it. Need to call my sister and see exactly what time she will be leaving St. Louis. It is a 2 1/2 hour drive from the city and 3ish for us coming in from here. If we are waiting for them in the lobby Jon and Andrew will have gone through all our supper money in the game room! Lambert's only takes cash.

Laundry is waiting and should run the vac. Sunday I am back out to paint the porch. It will be October! this year has flown by. Have a wonderful Friday all......

Wow! The last Friday in September!

If I leave my bed open to air out, the cat would be on my sheets and pillows...I will have to read up and see what is being said about this. Only half the bed gets messed up anyway.

gosh, I don't have much going on today. I do have to remember to submit the daycare monthly attendance and food information. It will be a shock after the higher numbers of the summer months with school kids to see what I get reimbursed with just the normal kids here.I always spend more than I receive and that is ok, because at tax time the reimbursement counts as income if they pay me more than I paid out for food and supplies.

The painting should be done this weekend...I think I am being squeezed in between their other jobs, but whatever. I can't do it myself, so I am not going to stress over it. All the shrubs that were up against the house and overgrown in some area are cut away. The back looks strange with the trumpet vine completely gone. I am not going to let it get so overgrown. I am not sure if it will grow on a trellis but I will find out.

I hope everyone has a good weekend and enjoys the cooer weather!

Good Morning! It's chilly but sunny.

Yesterday was good. Sue & I made ladylocks, then peeled at least a bushel of apples, if not more. I then spent the afternoon puttering. Made up and baked the pies for today. Cork had to work over. I think he ended up with a 12 hr day. We had leftovers and then headed to the Troop meeting. I had planned to drop him off & run a few errands in Saxonburg, but parents stayed for the entire time. Met a few parents & had nice chats. Had to sign up to volunteer for something, and I picked the ordering of the chicken for the Blue & Gold dinner. Easy enough. Had to come home & clean up the kitchen.

This morning was a busy one already. The window cleaning guys came & did my outside windows. NICE!!! Aunt J came & scooped grease & we had a nice chat. I've got the last of the pies in the oven for tomorrow. Only one more day of pie baking for the stand. Need to stop & pay bills. Time just slips by on me.

Tonight is the Fall Festival at the Primary school. I volunteered to work 6-8. I hope Cork will be home to take Blaise or pick him up from me. I have a call into Mandy to see if she can take Blaise home with her for those couple hours if Cork is working. Her son Drake & Blaise get along great.

            Have a good one all!

hummm,, could not get on this morning and was heading for Donna's... soooooooooo. Finally tried again just now and here I am, late afternoon... Donna and I did have a good chat.
and all the grease leaves my hands so smooth and silky... made David a delicious dinner... then we went to visit a dear friend who has Pancreatic cancer. she is doing chemo.. it is 5 months since diagnosis ... She loved the plate of cookies Donna made up and sent to her!... so did her hubby..

I think my problem may be my keyboard... the keys don't always go down far enough... have a brand new one here. but will need gdson Jake to plug it in and tell the computer it is here..

Airing beds?... does that mean I don't have to make it!.... yea.. oh . you mean fold the top covers down nicely ..?? ok.

time for a wee bit of reading ...I keep ordering books , downloading books.. etc.. see you tomorrow.
              .......

Good Morning, the sun is shining and it is supposed to be a really nice day. Still a lot of green on the trees, but landscaping is all turning brown...

No plans here today but to sit and relax a bit and watch races later on.

We have all the stuff to get put away from motorhome, need to sweep and clean it for the winter months.

Here we need to get stuff put away from all that has been going on since last Sunday. Funeral is over now, death can sure bring out the best in some and the worst in others, and some of us get stuck in the middle of all of it.. Sadly.

Since hubby has retired my bed gets 'aired' out every day, by the time he gets up I have lost my motivation or I am in the midst of doing something else, I am a morning person, he is not he is more of late afternoon/evening.

I do know one thing, I have two refrigerator that need cleaning out and a good cleaning on the inside...and so much 'stuff' on tables and countertops that I just have to make heads or tails of...so plenty to keep me busy...just feel the need for some down time...

Have a great day one and all.

Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God
