Good Morning, I have been up since 4:30 a.m. one of those mornings you wake up, lay in bed hoping to go back to sleep but that doesn't happen, so after an hour of that you just get out of bed...well that was how my morning started...got up, turned on the computer and coffee pot, made a cup of coffee and set down here to read the news and enjoy my coffee, then it turned to concern about Hurricane Irma. My thoughts, prayers and concern for all those in the path.

Yesterday ended up being a very nice day, there was a place about an hour away that I have always wanted to see but just never did, well yesterday we went and I loved it, so much history about the Black Swamp area, lots of interesting things from our past....and the restaurant we ate at fantastic, will definitely go back again... https://saudervillage.org/

Well time to think about breakfast, going to be french toast (Maxie) and sausage...have a great day one and all.
Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God

    Good Morning.

French Toast! Love it. John doesn't. I don't understand that.

Very cool this morning. Had to put on heavier clothes.

We've been watching weather, too, very frightening.

Off to church. Have a good day, Everyon

Beautiful morning here and I have been checking in with my Florida brother who has his family up in Orlando. One daughter is in the Tampa area, though, and I have been watching Good Morning America but just turned it off. It can get pretty stressful listening to updates and hearing from people with children who decided to stay in their homes! My brother said it is raining and some wind in Orlando and showed me a kpicture of the refrigerator with everything they brought...he said the other house on Merritt Island has that frig cleared out. I asked him about food because of power outages that would be a sticky mess to clean up.

I have church this morning and then not much. The lasagna for the dinner later is ready and I made the grape salad again. The Farmer's market will be open for about three more Saturdays and the grapes are still going strong. Mine are all gone with the birds and then my picking all I could find and using for the daycare. After this dinner, I am concentrating on lighter fare and not such pasta filled meals. We will see how that goes!

Yesterday as I walked into Walmart, I saw a friend sitting on a bench by the door. She works there, but I hadn't seen her in so long I thought maybe she transferred to another store. We had a great talk while she was on a break and it was a highlight of my day! and the day was good...I love running into friends and catching up. Then when I took my mother to HOme Depot she knew exactly which aisle the cans were in and we got two easily and got them to her house. It couldn't have been easier! The baby shower went well; the mom didn't open up gifts until right aobut when we had to leave (homework), but that was ok. We had a good time and met a lot of her family.

Sharon, that place you went looks like a great step back in time!
Hope you all have a good day!

Paula have been to "modern" showers, both bridal and baby, where they don't even open the gifts. I like when they open them so you know what the may still need.

Was up in the middle of the night itching...I was covered in hives. Cannot think of anything that I ate but was in misery until the antihistamine kicked in. Went back to sleep and all gone now! I looked like a tomato and did not know where to scratch first! Must have been a gottcha from God...I swear he sends them out once in a while!

Glad everyone was inspired to make french toast...I did not but will today. I was watching a movie when Jon came in from work and when it was over and I headed to the kitchen he was passed out for the evening. I never saw him again until this morning when I was up wandering the house itching. I have bacon and sausage and Sierra is off to join her best friend and grandma for lunch before she leaves for back to school so we do not have to share! She was home right after work last night so I am hoping there is trouble in paradise....please!

Cardinals won lost night and play this afternoon. Time is running out for them to make the playoffs but it is so close to hockey season I need to dust off my sweatshirt. My favorite time of the year is when the Cards are playing playoff ball and hockey season has started...I love the Blues!

Guess I have said all I have to say. A sunny breezy Sunday but we do need rain and maybe Irma will blow some up over Illinois. Prayers to all in the path of this storm and those beginning to clean up from last weeks. Going to stay in today since my system seems to be sensitized to something. AND that is the best excuse I have for not doing anything today! Still waiting for a burst of energy...getting tired of always being tired and I even feel dull minded sometimes. Jon is off tomorrow so I need to save up the energy I have to make a scene about painting the porch. No matter how great the play you only win the award if the project is finished. Have a wonderful Sunday all...

          Good morning!
Just lost my entire post, and retyping it.

Mornings are in the mid-70's here, but the temps will bop at around 100° for the foreseeable future here.
Lots of other weather to watch from here. Harvey did its dirty work, and grandson-in-law (a paramedic) is returning today from a 10-day stint in Houston. Now Irma is making progress up the E coast. Back in the Gulf, Hurricane Jose is building up I think pretty much in the area they just had that huge earthquake, those poor people!!! And Katia will soon make its way through the Baja areas and up the W coastline. And today's paper shows all the big fires happening in the NW states. There will be a lot more people needing help. Our ex-presidents are all asking for funds for whatever account will be helping those people (aside from FEMA). The rest of us can just count our blessings, and help where we can.

Sharon, Sauder Village sounds like a great place to spend time, and have a meal. I'd sure like to visit there sometime, if possible.

Yes, I'm a huge fan of French toast, too! I like to make extra to freeze for quick future use. I like to pop one in the toaster and spread a nice jam on it.

Beth, that house is bad news. Don't the police drive by to check on it? Hope you get to feeling better today.

Hi Maye,.....hope there will be a computer solution for you soon!
Hi Maxie, Paula, Darla, Sassy, Cookie, etc. Where's jostoy these days? Lisa?

          Have a beautiful day.

(Had to log out and then in again, as that blank ALERT flag kept coming up when I tried to post. Wonder why it happens?????)

I'm thinking that the weird "Alert" flag that I get is when some of us are posting together.
Looks like 3 posts came in while I was attempting to, because they weren't visible when I was typing. It does not help if I wait a few minutes and try again. I have to copy the post, log out, re-log in, and post then. Go figure. 🤔

Afternoon all! It a pretty sunny day here though a bit on the chilly side. The furnace actually kicked on this morning.

Yesterday was good. Got a great deal on a Queen Ann recliner at a garage sale...$40. I was saving up my $$ to go buy a new one this week because my current one has a rip in the fabric across the front. They don't make sturdy fabric anymore. Made a pot of chicken rice soup for supper.

After church & SS, Blaise & I dropped off the pies and headed into Aldi's. I decided I wanted to make a pot of chili and a few loaves of cottage cheese bread, but didn't have all the ingredients for either recipe. Both are in the process now. I'm hosting cards here tonight. Dinner will be choice of soup, bread, tomato pie, and whatever else they bring. I feel a nap coming on.

              Have a good one all!
