  • Good Wednesday Morning

Good morning everyone...feeling better today than yesterday...between the heat and my allergies...I think my head ache yesterday was not enough rest not enough water.

My daddy showed up last night....He came to mow and work at my sisters but he won't have to mow. He will work at my sisters today.

My schedule for today...work...helper lady comes the rest of the day...and church tonight.

Stay cool if you can and make sure to drink plenty of fluids...

Boffler I hope you are feeling better.

    Good Morning!

Yesterday was good. Dropped Blaise off and then headed into town to Aldi's. Came home and put the finishing touches on most of the baked cookies. By then it was time to pick him up. How does the time fly so fast? On the way home we stopped at the pool supply place to give the one gal a plate of cookies. She's always so kind and we talked cookies a couple weeks ago when I was there. She gave Blaise a big water gun....thanks....guess who's going to get soaked in the pool?

Came home and made the 2 pies for today and the foods for the Swim Team picnic. There again....the afternoon just slipped away. We had a nice time at the picnic. Would you believe there weren't any drinks brought? We assumed (silly us) that the people who donated drinks and took home the leftovers all season long would bring them back for the picnic....NOT! The team gift this year was a big beach towel with the teams logo and name. Well they gave us concession stand ladies each a towel too. Nice! They said it was to bribe us to come back & do it again next year. We will.

This morning Sue is coming to help me make and roll pie crusts. First I have to drop off Blaise at VBS and then go to town to drop off the 2 pies. I got up early to prep things so that we can jump right into. Linda called from the farm stand and said peaches are being picked up on Friday, so we'll be starting 2 weeks earlier than last year. I'm not mentally ready to start yet, but start we will. Starting off slow on Saturday with just 4 pies. That means my Friday will be totally nuts since I'm hosting my Mom's birthday dinner. It'll all get done.

Time to eat & get ready to go. Have a good one all!

Donna, you remind me of me in the pool: don't splash me. Don't get my hair wet!!

I don't mind getting my hair wet, but it has to be on my terms and my timing. I detest being out of control, so I don't like sudden water in my face or suddenly going under in the water...DON'T PUSH ME!!!!!

    Good Morning to all...
Beth I feel fine, thank you, its just pneumonia something I have learned to deal with I have aspirated pneumonia a lot...allergies are the pits especially on the eyes, nose and head.

Donna, I swear lady you worry me, you push yourself so hard and getting close to the time to settle down and take care of you... I know for me the older I get the slower I go, and at 64 that is getting pretty darn slow, LOL...

I have no immediate plans for the day, after making chili let it simmer on the stove while I did some running around with the hubby, he needed an oil filter for boat and oil, then we headed to check out a zero turn mower he is interested in a brand spanking new one, geez, first a boat and now a new lawnmower, he has a John Deere tractor and lawn mower now he needs another toy....I mentioned that I needed a new desktop computer as mine is over 8 yrs. old and is outdated for many pages I go to, he says, "can you hold off on that", well I know why now, LOL...I do have a new laptop with but I do so enjoy a desktop for so many things..

Will be trying out a new beauty shop and hair stylist, seems the one I have used for years is slowly downsizing preparing for retirement, so a bit nervous about it tomorrow..
Got to spend about two hours in the pool last evening, with the good ole 50spf sunscreen and it was so relaxing...hubby joined in after changing the oil and filter in boat...I bet he will want to try the boat out today so I will be prepared..

Have a great day one and all, off to read the news and drink my coffee..

Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God

I push hard for a few days and then I'm wiped out for a day or two. Sue started helping me today, and having someone to talk & work with makes it much easier. With raising Blaise, and Corky working a crap job, I can't see myself slowing day any day soon. We need my income, plus I do enjoy it. Now I'd really like to quit cooking supper though. Cork isn't fun to cook for. I'd love to try new recipes, but with his limitations, that makes it hard.

    Good morning ..

up early.. finally got shower. shampoo. now to fix this hair.... then .. see what the day will bring. going to be in 80s.. I love it

Sharon. I was like Donna. instead of baking I gave piano lessons.. and active in church stuff. etc... I baby set Grandaughter from the time she was 6 wks old ( when I was 60).. until she was 3.. and suddenly when I went past the 62 birthday.. I started to run out energy.. I cut back on lessons. and some of the church stuff... was strange . just like a signal.. David retired and was home all the time . we finally got a slower routine worked out .
.. but it was strange how one day you realize.. the busy busy person has to give in and slow down!..
about a new computer.... I ask myself the question, why did I but a new computer?... Im quite the old lady now.. and the old Vista was doing more or less,OK.. the answer..... because I wanted to treat myself.. its my birthday, C.day Present.. and I am enjoying it.. moves so Fast!..

Bethina, good to read you are feeling better.

Don't know what we will do today.. I can always find a drawer or cupboard that needs sorted thru...
maybe we will even go running around ...( anywhere but the Carnival,, that is in little local town).

Hi everyone, I will be back to read!!!
Take it one Day , one step, at a time.. cause that's all we really have.

Good morning, just me and Molly home today. Guess she thought I had slept late enough, she was using her paw to shake my shoulder when I opened my eyes she liked my face. Candie decided she didn't want to cook last night so she got KFC, so today my lunch will be the leftovers.

      Everyone have a great day

I am typing blind again. Not sure how to fix it on this iPad.
Donna, I am trying a new cookie recipe: lemon thumbprints. Lemon curd is in the dip part of the cookie.
The splash pad was such a success!! And did not wreck the grass underneath. I had a Slip and Slide one time that totally ruined the grass under it.
The kids told their parents all about it and I had texted all of them pictures while we were outside.
It was 67* when I went outside at 6:30 this morning. So nice!
I have one school boy today who brought a book to read to the kids: Captain Underpants! I will read a little to make sure it is not full of potty humor. My 4 year olds are already full of that.
Fine line keeping all parents happy.
Hope you all are feeling fine and dandy.
Sharon, I don't know what I will do if my stylist retires...I always notice who has good color and cut when I go to church or to stores and would be asking for their salon!

Blaise LOVES Cpt Underpants. He has the entire series. I like buying series. Now I heard the movie CP was too potty mouthed, so we didn't go to see it. Post that recipe. I already have 3 kinds of thumbprints.....the regular one rolled in walnuts and filled with icing, the Maple Pecan one rolled in pecans and filled with maple flavored filling, and the last one is Almond Creams with an browned butter almond flavored filling. All are good and all different from each other.

      Good mid-morning, everyone.
I've got all my stuff in the suitcase. am dressed to travel. Am having a snack of tea and graham crackers while I wait for E to mobilize himself. All that's left to do is ponder if I forgot anything. And start the dishwasher before we leave. E's in charge of his own stuff.

I don't mind leaving the 90+ temps and the 50-100% humidity factors. I will miss the times we will actually get the monsoon rains here. Yay for rain! We're not getting as much as forecasted. Mother Nature needs to be put on notice for that.

Soon we'll see our "baby" (in her mid-40's....don't tell her we still refer to her that way), and her grown up family.

Sounds like a pretty good day ahead for all Rounders.

JoG, until my mom died she introduced me as her "baby daughter", I was just the "baby" until my brother was born when I was 11.
