  • Morning Folks

Hard to believe this month is half over already and it just seems like it just started on the 4th.

Yesterday was a busy day, went and got my INR poke, then stopped and got my grocery shopping done, then got all of them put away when I got home...did a few loads of laundry got the house all dusted and then prepped for supper...later on cooked said supper..diced potatoes, onions, some garlic and smoked sausage diced up also fried in a pan...was so good. Trying to use up foods we have in freezer and coming up with a way to make them good...

Got a phone call from my brother in law that my sis was in the hospital, now mind you this sister has always been the healthy one of us three, her last stay in a hospital was in the late 70's so this is all a whole new experience for her, she is the oldest of us three at 71. He told me what had happened and to myself I was thinking, sounds identical to what happened to me in November, well after testing and monitors it was found that she also has AFib just like me...She said knowing I have it and how I live my life makes her feel at ease that she will also be just fine and can talk to me about it...I ask her if she had a nitro patch, iv drip and shot in the belly and she said yes to all... I pray she will be okay. Was also funny that we were almost identical in how it happened, she also thought she had pulled a muscle in her chest and back area because it hurt so bad, but then it got worse so she told her hubby she thought she would go to the emergency room, he ask her the same thing my hubby said to me, "do you want me to go with you?" and my hubby also said, "I can meet you at the hospital". That is what happens when men are married to strong woman who are very self sufficient...

Well no more news from the peanut gallery, how is everyone else doing?

Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God

Good Morning Roundtable. Still at Candie's, will need to start on the kitchen. The kids have been taking turns cooking super, son and his girlfriend /wife have even been eating upstairs. Fri & Sat nights we played games after.

Have been playing with the knook stuff that I got in the big bag from goodwill. It says knitting with a crochet hook. Not real sure if I like it or not since you have to pull the loop through different, I forget and do regular crochet.

Rained/stormed here all evening and night but this morning the sun is out. Not sure about temp since Molly hasn't wanted out yet, don't think she knows I'm up yet.

    Everyone have a fantastic day

Would be interested to see what this looks like. I do crochet but not knit so maybe I couldn't even do it. Keep working on it so you can give us lessons!

    Good morning.
I'm surprised that our weather is holding in the mid-90's here, but so is the humidity. Makes you feel "icky". Rain forecasted for every day this week, although we're not seeing much of it. We're just thankful when it does fall.

Haircut for me today. No other particular plans, except packing the suitcase. E will be calling a cab company today for transporting us tomorrow. Hate to leave our car in long-term parking. We've heard no explanations about why the shuttle services have gone out of business.

Sharon, that's quite a coincidence with you and your sister. But since you two share this turn of events of hers, being able to share with you probably reduces her stress about it.

As for me, I remember well how my mother said in her nasty voice, "Why can't you get something everyone else gets, nobody in our family had what you got. I don't understand you!" Like I chose my condition??? She was probably just frustrated because she never heard of it, and couldn't offer help. But every time there's a change of some sort, the name of this condition changes. The name is basically an explanation to the other docs of what's going on. Basically it's a blood disorder that developed fibrosis in my bone marrow. According to the docs, not all of our genes are perfect. We all have thousands of mutant genes. I did not choose the genes that caused this. It just happened by chance. That's your science lesson for today.

E should be waking shortly. I'd better see to breakfast.
I hope to have time to post tomorrow, but if you don't hear from me we are on our way to WA. With all the complications of air travel.

    Have a dandy day! 😄

good morning! It is get ready for trash day, meaning find stuff to throw away!
I was tired yesterday and went to bed at 8:00 so woke up refreshed and ready to do whatever comes my day...should not say that! Not tempting Fate!
The month is zooming by, for sure.
I bought a splash pad for the kids which got here yesterday and today I will hook it up to the sprinkler. Hopefully, it doesn't do anything bad to the lawn under it.
Yesterday the power went off right before lunch! Just long enough for me to get the flashlight and check the fuse box and go look for something to fix them that didn't need cooking...and came back on. There is some construction work going on and a daycare mom said it happened at their office a few times; she works at Social Services and I can only imagine how that messes things up when you are on the computer, etc.and the power goes off.
Well, I hope your day has some relaxing moments amid the chores and errands.
Sharon, your sister sounds like she has the right attitude for healthy healing and living. You ae a source of positive attitude and strength to all of us.
I will be checking in later to read all the posts.

Understand the inconvenience of construction. And why is it we always think the problem is ours and go off looking for our problems? Maybe to many years of fighting fuses when i was younger? Love the idea of a splash pad. Sierra showed me something yesterday about a gym pad you put in the pool and 'practice' flips and somersaults on. I'd rather just lay on it but she thought she needed one...if the girl could still do a flip or even the splits I buy her one!! Sounds like you have fun days in your day care. Lucky kids!!

Thank you Paula, I sure try and keep on the positive side, sometimes when I am in the midst of a crohns flare it becomes a bit more difficult, but my sis is now looking toward me for help in this new medical things with her and I will be here..
Hope your splash pad is a splashing success...

Lots shaking today. Gotta go to the grocery store and pickup what I need to bring and then something for the ones here to eat until Friday when they join me. Yesterday was a wonderful day. When we got to the orchard Jon's friend took us to look at the grapes and invited us back for wine in the fall. They sell some wine that they make themselves from planting the grapes to putting it in the bottle and hope to start a winery. Cannot wait to get a tasting this fall. Then she took us to the peach trees and we picked ours fresh from the tree. Coming home we stopped at a great place for a big...huge...lunch. I always enjoy the ferry rides. Anyone noticed how bad the sweat bees are already? A little early this year. Anyway I got stung on each wrist yesterday by those buggers and ended up in the middle of the night trying to find a benidryl to control the itch. Anything flying that bites me causes days of discomfort! Except a mosquito...they do not bother me at all so go figure. Jon and Andrew swam yesterday then Sierra and I picked up pizza and the kids disappeared down into the boy cave so I saw neither of them all evening. Drew's mom texted and they are picking wild blackberries tonight and she knows they are my favorite. Hope I get enough for a pie! Peaches and berries and I have to freeze them immediately since I will be gone for 5 days tomorrow. BUT what a treat to come home to. Going to be to hot to bake anyway. jon woke me this morning saying that our school is on the list for not opening in the fall if the dumbass governor doesn't sign the school funding bill. Drew's mom had called him because she is all concerned. Not to worry...any governor that holds up school funding and delays the start of the school year is not going to be re elected..and by the way he is politicking being re elected is a big thing on his mind. Whatever happened to honesty and integrity in politics instead of ego trips and get rich schemes? Yes I know I am on my soapbox again and could go on and on but must get my opinions stored away to be aired another day. Too much running to do today. If I am not back tomorrow morning I will be back on Monday. Yahoo...family, food, pools and sun! I do look so forward to this week every summer. Stay cool..they are predicting 100s starting tomorrow and through Saturday for sure with not a drop of rain......

Maxie I love the enthusiasm in your post!! It sure feels good to have days you look forward to...so sorry about those nasty bug bites, they sure do seem to itch more at night...I wish I liked wine, I like the taste but it burns my throat all the way down and sits hard on the stomach so I pass it on...also love the ferry rides across the lakes to get to the wineries...didn't take jostoy there when we went maybe next time if we have a next time...I love a good soapbox rant, LOL

Maxie....try a slice of onion on your stings. Blaise will even attest to how well that works since he's been stung twice in a week's time.

Good Morning! A perfect sunny summer day.

    Yesterday was good....until....

I got some more cookies baked off. Called the garage, and Gary was able to take the Fusion right in. By late afternoon it was finished....needed a new rear brake. One more problem crossed off the list. Blaise & I went down for a swim. He enjoyed VBS.

Got a phn call from Katie's Mom. Katie is Kathy's housemate. They WERE the best of friends. I co-signed their lease because neither one had good enough credit rating....RED FLAG. But btw them they had plenty of money to pay the bills and PROMISED me it would never be a problem.....until.....Kathy started throwing her weight around and saying because my name was on the lease, she could make the house rules. She's been down right evil to Katie. Her Mom & sister are shocked. (I'm not) Kathy was the perfect friend before they moved in together. Her Mom called me in desperation and we talked a good 45 min. We are going to try and get the 2 girls together along with us 2 moms. Things need to be worked out, or I'll be holding the bag. I confessed to Corky that I had signed the lease and all that was going on. I'm blessed with a very kind husband.

Got a burst of energy last night & mixed up and baked off 3 kinds of cookies I got an order for for a wedding this weekend. I know the mother of the groom and she's been posting about her baking failures. Met up with her at VBS at pick up time yesterday and we were discussing her problem. The light bulb went on in her head and ask if I could bake her some cookies. SURE!
This morning after dropping of Blaise, I headed into Aldi's. Now to get it all put away and start putting the finishing touches on the cookies. Hope to swim this afternoon. Blaise & I are going to the Swim Team picnic later on. Need to get the dishes for that prepared too....veggie tray & fruit salad....maybe. May forget the veggie tray and just do a platter of cookies.

    Have a good one all!
