  • Hello Saturday

This week was long one. I have had a lot on my mind..one of my close friends had am in removal Surgery Tuesday...then emergency surgery to remove blood clot Thursday. He lost 2 pints of blood. Yesterday they were trying to find blood for him. As of last night they hadn't found any...

I found out Wednesday evening my Bible Study leader and his wife are leaving my church.

At the beginning of the week I had major issues with my home maker person.

Some stuff has worked it's self out other stuff will take a while.

Please forgive me for pulling back and being quiet. Love u

Good Morning! It's suppose to be sunny, but has yet to arrive.

Yesterday was good. My Aunt P invited me & my Mom to her place to play cards last night & I was to find the 4th person. Actually got Aunt J to join us. It was nice because it was my Mom's
BD and we aren't celebrating until next Friday due to my brother going on vacation. So her day wasn't forgotten. It picked up pizza and made her favorite choc cupcakes, and gave her her BD gift.

My energy level was a bit low yesterday. I planned to mix up a bunch of cookie dough, but only got 5 kinds done....9 was my goal. Everything was put in the refrig to chill and just wait until I'm ready to bake it off.

Not 100% sure what today will bring. No real plans. Becca MIGHT come to pick up Joy her cat. Cork wants to go out garage saling. I'd like to start baking off dough. Time will tell. Hope to get in that pool.

Bethina...it's OK...we all go through quiet periods.

    Have a good one all!

Maybe your energy level is low because you do to much? It;s summer so stop and relax. However, if you have any of those chocolate cupcakes left you have my address!

    Good morning to all.
Such sad news about Micky this morning. 💐

Well, last evening we got a little more rain at sunset, so I got to see actual raindrops running down the window. Today will still be in the triple digit temperatures, but tomorrow will start a run of temps in the 90's, with more days of our monsoon rains ahead. Our trees have sure needed the rain. Their leaves have been scorched by the previous heat we'd had, and as much as E made sure they had water from the hose they didn't perk up til they got the rain. The trouble is, with the rains comes the humidity, which added to the high temps will really drain your energy. ~~~~ Hey, Mother Nature, isn't the desert supposed to be a dry heat???!!!

Hey, Beth, we all have times that are difficult and we need space to work things out. Don't worry.

Cookie, 5 batches of cookie dough seems like a lot to deal with, to me, and 9 would be overload. Wow....
Busy lady, how do you deal with that plus accommodate family members at the same time. You must have bewitching powers. 😉

Well, I don't know what E has planned today. I think I remember saying if he ran the vac, I'd mop floors. Other than that....?????

I'd ordered a couple of casual dresses that were supposed to be delivered early, and I paid for that service. Looks like Fed Ex will deliver after I leave this coming week. Just my luck. Crap. Oh well, I'll deal with it.
Obviously, life is not meant to have a set pattern of convenience, right?

Well, not much else going on.
Will just wish you all a beautiful day! ☀️

Maybe that package will come in later in the day. I have had that happened with second day delivery where it did not come in the regular mail but with a special delivery. But I do know how aggravating it is to be expecting something and it comes the day after you need it. I have two things I am waiting for right now but one is for Christmas so no big hurry on it. Stay cool Jo ...I have never been to the desert but know a thing or two about humidity in Illinois!

Good Morning. Yes a very sad one with the news of Mickie...but don't think she would want all the sadness but to remember the classy lady she was..which I do.

Donna your body has a way of telling you time to take care of you!!! So listen...

Bethina, your homemaker person is a trained professional and is trained to help you be a stand alone adult so that if anything should happen to your parents, etc. you can take care of yourself...and being adult means taking care of your home, keeping it clean, cleaning up after yourself, not making excuses why you can't plus working a job like a lot of us have done, plus take care of our families...you can do this also...if not you come across as a spoiled brat which can make them irritated. Listen and learn from them...as well as at your job...in life we always have someone we have to answer to whether it be job, home, church, etc. You can do it, just think before putting that wall up... Sometimes being overwhelmed can make us all be quiet...

JoG, sometimes we pay for a service and don't get it, I learned that by trying to overnight a pkg. just enjoy your trip...

Today hubby and son are off to some races, while my sons SO has chosen to come and spend the day with me, look forward to it, hope it is warm enough to swim and be outside...need to decide what to cook for us, or maybe just go out to eat..need to get my day started...Blessed to know all of you.

Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God

Two sentences in and I lost my post. Unlike Beth who goes silent I love to talk and will just start over. My family always knows my mood and what my problem is! Anyway, to start over....Jon and Andrew went fishing last night and found a gar fish on the bank. I did not know they were native to this area but think I read that they were being introduced to combat the Asian Carp situation. Anyway, Andrew thought it was neat and Jon says the fish were not biting but the carp were jumping and it was entertaining. Guy time! Although if Sierra had been home she would have been there too. She fishes a lot with her bf. Dresses like a million dollars then rips out a worm and fish hook. Got my hair cut yesterday and finished all my running which took longer than anticipated or maybe I talked longer than normal. Seems everyone had something to say but it is small town USA and I NEED to know what they had to say...you know? I always stay up watching tv waiting for Sierra every night but last night I was dead to the world and she must have stood at the door calling me and finally came in to shake me and ask if I was dead. I never sleep that deep and it was a little unsettling. I would hate to think I am losing my mothers instinct! I may not hear the house explode but always hear a kid in the hall heading to the bathroom. For 40 some years I have had top notch instinct skills and now i am going into another mode. Guess as long as I recognize who is at the door I still have something! Nothing going on today but running the vac and maybe laundry. Both Sierra and her dad are working today so it will be quiet. Cardinals back last night and lost. Back to hearing me complain that we need pitchers. Had a car scare going to Staunton yesterday when the ck engine light came on. Since I did not have time to mess with it then and there I did my chores and got my haircut then the light went out. I am a little negligent with warning lights especially when they go out but did think I should get it looked at. Mechanic scanned the car and said it was all ok but he reset the 'car history' whatever, and no lights came back on. I explained to him that I was taking a road trip this coming week and was going no matter so fix it now. Have been doing business with the dealer and mechanic for so many years and Jon and Sierra and even mommy dearest have purchased cars from him so we have an understanding and the light is out and I am free to head out either Tuesday or Wednesday for a week of fun in the sun. I have no patience with things interfering with my plans. Again small town loyalty or lack of competition more like it. Well, you all know I like to talk so will move on and start my day. Not cooking so may have carryout again..good thing I have a variety of carryout places...maybe chicken tonight! Have a great and happy Saturday and you do whatever you want.

Good morning! The news about Mickie makes me remember her recipes and family moments she always posted. Being such a great person I am sure there was a joyful reunion in Heaven when she got there!
Today started with the pool and now laundry and floors. Becky bought a lightweight Dirt Devil yesterday for easy clean ups. How many vacuums do we need? Apparently. more than the pricey Shark, because it is heavy, and I find myself sweeping in the daycare rather than getting it out and all the fuss with the assembly. And I don't have much carpet at all in this house anymore...oh, well.
I have a funeral at 11:00 this morning. I went to a wedding reception last night for a widowed friend...he lost his wife a little over a year ago. And then later today my mother wants me to take her to buy a new tv and phones for her landline. Thank Heaven I have Becky to help put the tv up and get it working. It is a little more complex now than just plugging something in, like it used to be.
Spencer's family is in NYC this weekend and posting great photos. It is raining there, or was yesterday when they arrived, but it didn't deter them at all.
I better start getting my self in gear. I am going to the store next for food and the farmer's market for a few items.
Take care and enjoy your day!
