July 12th Wednesday.....Good Morning!

Good Morning! Looks like it's going to be another wet & dreary one out there.

Yesterday was good. Took Blaise for his final swim lesson. Came home and just couldn't get my motor going....took a nap. Then I was ready to go. Decided to finally wash most of my towels and tea towels in vinegar and then baking soda. Trying to revive them and make them absorbent again. Got a text from my SIL asking if I'd like to play cards. We started out with just the 3 of us....me, my Mom, and SIL, and then around 8pm my Aunt P arrived after her granddaughter left.

Just puttered around most of the day. Ran the carpet scrubber a bit and freshened up a few areas. I hated to admit I knew how to run it because then Cork won't do it anymore. It's been his job for years. Baked the pie for the doctor's office....blueberry peach. Speaking of peaches, I called and talked to Linda, and peaches will be arriving in a couple of weeks, so my pie baking season will begin. Texted Sue and she's coming next Monday and we are going to start making pie dough and crusts in preparation. Aunt J is coming Thurs to scoop some grease balls for me. Let the fun begin!

This morning we'll be running the pie to the doctor's office and making an Aldi's run. Becca will be leaving later. She went down to Pgh to spend the night with her best friend and will be coming back here sometime this morning. It's been nice having her here. She'll be leaving her cat here until she makes sure the flea problem is solved at her apt. Not sure what the rest of my day will bring. Something always presents itself.

Good morning....Hot one here today!

Please pray for my poor mother and granny. Granny is causing 10 kinds of stress for mom. She is now saying she doesn't know if she wants to move or not. She is not saying this to mom but to other family members that are then letting mom know. Mom is acting like she doesn't know a thing about it around Granny. Granny needs to tell mom herself. Also the fact that my anxiety has been up and I haven't had the sweetest aditude hasn't help mom either....I apologized and I am working through this myself...will give my worker another chance for the time being..I have a friend over here helping me sort this all out.

I am headed out the door extra early this morning..my sister and I are going for breakfast burritos and mountain dews before she drops me off at work...I need the caffeine this morning..Cori was loud last night...I really think she can since when I am not in a good mood or anxious.

Good morning.
I'm waking up too early these days. 😴
Oh well. Yesterday we didn't have rain, and it only got to 92°. I believe today is forecasted for 98° with 60% chance of rain.....and humidity is high, about 70%. In the predawn light, I see dark clouds out there.

I got flowers from E yesterday...the color is striking, like some of our sunsets, a reddish orange. Reason? Just because.

Not much going on here. Just getting stuff together for the trip next week.
Also checking with nephew & wife on how he's doing after that motorcycle accident. He's going through physical therapy, and will be having cataract surgery next week and in August. They've got guardianship of 2 of their granddaughters. Until he can get back to work, were helping them out as we can financially.

Geez, Cookie, you have me craving your pies now! Wish we lived closer, but maybe not because my weight has gone up and getting it down is a slower process. Such is life. I need to get back to a hobby or some project here.

Beth sorry you are dealing with family's problems, but it'll be settled before long, ad no doubt without crisis. Hope you find a way to get Cori settled down at night. Maybe you should have named her "Crisis"! 😉

Good Morning! I hate to say it, Donna, but we loved the days it rained and thundered! Becky finally got to know what I had told her it was like to get summer rain that didn't cool things off and started out of the blue!
Do you use lard for your grease balls? I have been told it makes the flakiest crust.
We bought the best rolls at the Amish Farmer's market! We also bought raw honey, jams, nut rolls and doughnuts. The doughnuts were for the family to eat and the others were to bring home for gifts.
Ugh. My early kids got here much earlier today and I hope the mom could read my surprise and see my lack of makeup and realize she is way too early! I should have had 10 more minutes.
I have to go back down with the kids and work on my attitude

Good morning.

Like others have said...today is to be hot with very high humidity. Doesn't make working outside pleasurable. Today will put a netting on the top of the cat pin to see if we can contain them.

Looking forward to getting that done and back home in the a/c. I planted 3 rows of turnips this morning and watered the flowers. Can't depend on getting any rain, and they needed a "drink".

Got home yesterday afternoon after going to the Lake to mow after getting E's yard mowed Monday. Stopped in to see my oldest cousin before heading on to the Lake. Hospice has him sedated with morphine to keep the pain down. He was not conscious, but I at least got to see him. His kidneys had already shut down and his heart is only pumping about 20%. Don't think it will be much longer before he makes the trip to his final home.

While at the Lake, my neighbor next to me out there took me to see his baby mule. She was born on July 4th and they named her Liberty. I guess it's very rare for a miniature horse and miniature donkey to conceive. But that little mule is so energetic to be only 1 week old when I saw her. She sure was a pretty little thing.

Well I better get off here and get to work. Have already vacuumed the hard floors, so need to get my duster out while waiting for E. to call me. Everyone have a great day.(in the coolness of your home)

Morning! Another day of triple digits with one more to go tomorrow and then rain friday. Hope this streak does not break so soon because our reunion is next week and we want it hot and pool worthy! Roofers are on the roof installing the new ventilation. Pretty darn hot for them up there. I have nothing to say. Made an appointment for a haircut Friday and Jon says on his day off Monday we are going to the river and get peaches from a co worker who runs a produce stand. Will get to cross on the ferry and then lunch out. Hope Sierra is off that day because I know she will enjoy it. I am getting a late start this morning and haven't read the morning news. But I think if you read yesterday you probably have a good handle on today. I think we were better off when we didn't get a constant dose of horrible news. Roofer done and paid so hope to feel a difference in the heat buildup...certainly made my checkbook lighter! Guess I should stop wasting time and get moving. Stay cool but enjoy the summer. I know I need the sun on my head!!!

Good afternoon, don't know what happened to the morning... I made myself and omelet, read the news while drinking a cup of coffee, then my cousin called and we talked over an hour, then I broke up the green beans hubby picked yesterday so no here I am..

Going to have ham, green beans, and potatoes together, might chop up and onion also, I will need some cornbread with that..

Not much else planned, hubby got a haircut and is now at the real estate office with the other employees watching a training video...he is really doing this, LOL...

Well off to search for the ham in the freezer left over from Christmas..

Hope everyone is having a good day...Cookie peach pie sounds good, might have to get a container out of the freezer and make one..

so be it..Good evening to all. darn near bedtime around here , in fact David is in bed.. reading for about 10 min.. then he will be asleep for the night.
I will take care of lights out, make sure cat is situated. and doors locked. have a good book to finish...

Going to Donna's to make "grease Balls" tomorrow... to enlighten those folks who have not read this before... Donna uses a lot of shortening and lard . and hates touching grease... so I measure out cup portions and roll into a ball shape. place in a coffee filter. and we stack them on tray.. ready for her to grab.. a tray of shorting and a tray of lard.. ...... the best part of all.... her and I get to TALK. while she is mixing /baking and I'm messing with the greas.
its my " alone" time ,..I am needing a break from this house.. and my hubby.. ..

Jostoy... what are you going to do with all those turnips.. ! one year we planted them ( lived on farm wayyyyy back when). and I think we had turnips in the cool storage area all winter.. .
Sharon, made me hungry for fresh green beans.. on groc list to buy..
