  • Saturday morning sunshine its great to be alive

Good Morning, I am feeling like I turned the corner to being over this 'stuff' I have had, the congestion has been horrible...while sick I still had to have my lab work done because of the medication I am on, well MI called yesterday and wondered if I was sick or something because of my white blood count, told them what was going on and was told if not over it by Monday to please call them...the gastro Dr. here sees the same thing and has not called me...and they wonder why I go to MI for care...

Still have congestion and coughing, and I still do want to take short naps, but all in all so much better, didn't want an antibiotic as those usually set my crohns in motion and I think people run to the Dr. to soon without just letting nature take its course....don't want to take antibiotics unless I absolutely have to...

I am feeling like some pancakes and sausage this morning, finally getting an appetite back.

Good to see jostoy is back among us, we are dwindling down in people so fast don't want to lose anyone else coming here and talking..

Maxie, you mentioned the ride Soarin at Epcot, that was my very favorite thing at Disney as well as my grandgirls also...you really felt connected on that ride...also I am so happy that your granddaughter is finally taking a stand with Mommy dearest, she will feel so liberated when she does, I know she loves her, it is her Mother, but boundaries are wonderful for everyone...

Cookie I am saddened by reading about Mickie also, the only place I found anything was on her son in laws David's facebook page, I am watching the Toledo Blade newspaper just in case she passes and no one says anything...she was just the sweetest lady, so loving and caring, your true Italian Mom family....have missed her so much here, it amazes me how fast dementia can take you...

Well time to get a move on, I think I will even get out of my night clothes today and try and play a human...

Have a good weekend one and all....so glad you are here.
Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God

L and I wanted to get on the Soarin ride, but there was a 70 min. wait. We were on our way back to see if we could get on it that evening when we got the call that my niece was on the way to pick us up. Never got to get on the track test either as it also had a 70 min. wait time.

    Well good morning all.

Will be going out to E.'s to finish the pin I started for V.'s two little kitties. We did put them in the pin for a while, and it seemed they were happy to get some fresh air. Little Marshmellow, an all white kitty with blue eyes, was a real stinker. She was the first to jump on Marmalade, a yellow kitty, and started romping and playing. We were actually surprised to see that as Marshmellow is much smaller. Think she must have been the runt of the litter.

Anyway, E. and I made good time yesterday. Got to do everything we wanted to get done in Vincennes and home before 3. V. was to be picked up by E. by that time and brought to her house for a couple hours. V. didn't spend the nightr with her as that is the usual for Friday night. The reason is that her mommy and family are taking her to the water park in Indiana today. E. will keep her Sunday night instead then take her home to her daddy.

Will have to pick beans again this afternoon. Then will put them on to cook so I can take some to E. I guess V. ate ju7st about all the beans I gave E. earlier. I and E. don't mind as V. had about quit eating any vegetables. So I take pride in the fact that she liked my fresh cooked green beans.

Better get off here and get dressed so I can have some breakfast before I start working. Everyone have a good day.

Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured.

        Good Morning!

Yesterday was good. Got the goodies delivered to the restaurant and then the 3 of us headed up to Becca's apt to attack it and the fleas. She's bombed the place 5x and there is still live ones left. We swept, and swept, and swept each room at least 3x or more. By the time we left there weren't any critters jumping on our ankles. Stopped at my Mom's on the way home because her line as ringing busy. I started trying to call her around 9:30 and never got through. Sure enough, she didn't hit the stop button the last time she talked to her friend. Invited her over for dinner & cards.

Got home and started working on dinner....roasted chicken, m potatoes, gravy, stuffing, carrots & onions, and fruit salad. YUM! My Aunt P came over to be our 4th. We had a nice evening. Becca and I lost every game. We are big LOSERS! LOL! We let them win....yea....that's my story & I'm going to stick with it.

This morning I want to work on making a bunch of the cream pies.....PB & Samoa. I'm out of them at this point. Becca it meeting her friend Krista for lunch & then they are coming back here to swim. Picked up the supplies to make monkey bread for later this afternoon since that's Krista's favorite. I love her. She goes to our church and they've been friends for at least 10 yrs. Not sure what else I'll do with my day. Sounds like enough to me.

Maxie....I'm sure with MD moving away that it was a HUGE weight lifted off Sierra's shoulders & mind. She feels much freer I'm sure. Don't know why her mom calls so much though. Hope she doesn't decide to move back.

        Have a good one all!

Sunny and hot....a perfect Saturday! Joystoy, we always do the test track several times with a fast pass. After they changed it from the last time we were there it wasn't worth the wait. Even Andrew did not want to go back and redo it. BUT the new Soarin is fabulous!!!! I thought the wait times for rides was horrendous and we did stand in lines but were really happy with the fast passes....just walk right in! I am up early waiting for the carpenter to replace some warped decking boards and with as hot as it going to be you would think he would be here by now. It isn't like my schedule is overflowing for the day or maybe I don't have anything on the schedule for the day but what matters is I am up and he is not! I know I have no patience and will never be able to go with the flow. I must always be in control of that flow!! I am telling you that this world would run a lot smoother if people would just do it my way. Andrew's playoff game has been changed from 6 to 8 tomorrow night so I have to remember to record the Amelia Earhart special. I doubt her disappearance was a total mystery and the government has known a lot for a long time...maybe from the very beginning. I am sure there are very few mysteries in the universe. Sorry to read about Mickie. I always admire her devotion to family. Sharon glad you are feeling better. I have nothing more to say on any subject...well that is probably not true since I can go on and on about 'subjects' but will take another cup of coffee and sit in the morning sun for a minute. I am getting way to much sun and it is showing on my skin. It is so hard after years of sun loving to have to protect yourself constantly and obviously I do not. I just need sun on my head!!!! Well enough about me..take care and have a wonderful Saturday!!

I am back and ready to get to work again! Nothing like a great vacation without clocks running my life!
Washington DC was so great and so exhausting! My treadmill workouts are not enough for all the walking and the heat and humidity. Our two Capitol tours were so awesome! The first one on Thursday was meeting Stuart's congresswoman who was in a meeting but said she could come out and tlak with us if we could come over to where she was...that was my first workout! The new intern who took us over didn't know his way around, but we got a great look at all three buildings and the tunnel they all show in movies when they are moving the President around...Anyway, that was a highlight. (And not at all lost on me that My Rep Did Not come out of any meeting for us, but oh, well...)
Time with my grandsons was the best! If you saw my Facebook posts the two in Scouts got to hold the Scout banner for their group in the parade! And all the subdivisions decorate their entrances with banners and flags...so Patriotic. Annapolis was beautiful on Monday and all of our outdoor walking had gorgeous days. It rained the last two days off and on but whenever the rain stopped the boys were in the pool! I told them I had been in their pool more than my own this year! food was good: we had Japanese as well as crab and other American barbecue favorites. Too much good food!
I missed you all and will go back and catch up on what you all were doing.
Soarin" over Ca has been our favorite ride, too. I heard they changed it to be over the World now...
Laundry and airing out the house are the big things to do as well as water the yard. I think my yard people watered a little as it looks pretty good. Probably on the day they mowed, they must have put on the timer sprinkler out front. Our temperatures here have been HOT and will be that way all this coming week.
That was one thing I wsa so grateful for in MD: all the Metro trains and buildings were well air conditioned. And we always had a bench in the shade when we needed one.
            Take care!

              Good morning, dear friends.
It's amazing how weather forecasts change overnight. Today will not drop in temperature hardly at all, the Thunderstorm will not be here for a week and dropped to 40% chance at that, til then there's a 20% chance of rain each day which usually only amounts to a high humidity. The nearby fire has slowed and is about 1/3 under control, and another fire has begun in some other nearby area. Need to check a map. Anyway, there must be particles in the air from the fires, as my eyes feel dry and itchy, and are ringed a bit with red. But in a few days --- supposedly --- the temps should be down to 100°.

I think it's time to start getting together things that I want to wear on our trip to WA. Their weather is in the high 70's and the 80's, which will be a great break from this heat for us. I have 2 summer weight sweater tops, as I seem to chill easily - good for their cooler days. And I have other summer shirts to wear. I need to hem a new pair of slacks.

E wants to continue our search for a Senior Living apartment. A really big upside to that for him is that all meals are included, and we'll be spared cooking and grocery shopping. But that's really a downside for me...I really like to cook....I'll know what exactly is in my food. I've gotten to where I'm don't care to go to restaurants; I enjoy light fare, but they offer higher calorie light fare...also things like chicken or tuna salad sandwiches are not on anyone's menu today, everything is fried, breaded, spiced; and hamburgers, chicken burgers, are piled so high with additional crap I don't see how it fits in the average person's mouth. And that's what I'd expect in the apartments' dining room. But we also learned that we can stay and try out a meal. However, I do have my electric pot and skillet and hot plate that has select pots & pans. I have no doubt that I'll be taking those. I have a set of microwave cookbooks that I will study as well, for cooking and baking. We will be taking notes at some of the places here, so we will know what questions we need to ask at the facilities in Phx.

No plans today. Just try to keep ourselves fairly cool. 🍦

Hope you all have a great day. ☀️

Cookie, can it be a neighboring apartment at Becca's that has the origin for the fleas? It wouldn't hurt for her to keep a can of insect spray, and spray outside her door and immediate base boards there, and use it every week or two depending if the problem continues. ????? If it doesn't stop, she may want to consider moving.

                  good afternoon.

Day of Departure has arrived.. Kiel left about 8am... he has a 8-8/12 hr drive if he doesnt stop to eat... we packed a care lunch of sandwiches ,goodies ,water for him..

then Mike'Pam packed. and gathered up all wash sheets, pillowcases and towels ,handed to me.. also put their space back to original shape. ... We went to lunch with them and then they drove off from there , headed to Pittsburgh airport.. for their flight to Colorado springs.. ... so the only guest left is Grandson David, and he will stay another day , maybe two.. he has the longest drive .
..... he is not hard to have , just feed him.... ...

have a fridge full of leftovers.. so won't have to think cooking today.. ... was such a grand week.. weather was sooo nice. and the boys and their Dad and David and I had some good "family" time.. very seldom are we together .. in a year.. Pam took lots and lots of pictures... downloaded to my external harddrive.from here camera. so I have an evening of viewing soon...... I need some REST first...

Kiel picked out a new computer for me and got it all ( or mostly all) set up from my old one... any glitches that occur ,,, grandson Jacob can fix.. it sure is different!.. but the increased speed is the most fun of all..

JoG.. You enjoy your vacation.. please don't OVER DO... I agree on restaurants... if the food is good... the portions are so huge.. today for lunch I got a good tasting hamburger. but ended up taking apart and eating the meat, lettuce, tomato... and had ordered broccoli..big serving of that.. thanks heavens.. much better than fried.

Paula. sounds like you vacation was a gooooood one.
Maxie, you are getting as suspicious as me about "secrets"about Amelia..

Donna tell Becca a natural way to keep the flea population down, on rugs, and carpeting .. take salt and liberally scattered into the carpet.... under beds.. anywhere .. this dries up all eggs and babies..leave a day or two.. run sweeper and repeat .. after keeping one of marks Dogs. I had fleas in carpet . aggg . try all sort of stuff and finally the salt treatments worked..takes a day or to for them to be dead ..

                  ok see you all later..
Take it one Day , one step, at a time.. cause that's all we really have.
