  • Its Friday July 7th let the weekend begin

Even though hubby is retired for some reason we still look forward to weekends, maybe because those that aren't retired yet we can get together with like our son.
Might have to cut this short, just saw a streak of lightening and hearing some loud crashes...will be back later...but I do want to ask for prayers for our beloved Mickie, I saw from her son in law that she is now in hospice care and seems to be going downhill fast...So please keep her in your prayers.
Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God

      Good morning all.

Vacations are wonderful, but oh the work that has to be caught up when you get home. The family of 13 had a great time. We not only had a swimming pool at our house, but there was a large pool and waterslide just across the street. Plus there was a "lazy river over there also. Some of the family had been in it, but got kicked out the second day...it had not been inspected yet. But on Thursday when we got back from our airboat ride, there was a sign in front of the resort front gate saying it was now open. My sister in law joined the fun of floating down the lazy river in the inner tubes .

For that many people to be in one house for a week, no one got mad or angry about anything. On Wednesday, we all had different agendas. My sister in law and I went to Epcot for 10 hours, 2 went to Universal Studios, 6 went to Disney land 3 stayed home to relax. My Epcot trip did my back in from all the walking. I'm still in pain, but hopefully the Dr.'s office will call anytime to come in for my surgery. If not, I have an appt. on the 19 and will probably get another injection.

Today will go to Vinncennes with E. then will build a pin for V's 2 kittens she got last Tuesday. It will be a 6' square so the kitties can have some scenery and fresh air.

Better get off here and think about a bite for breakfast, then get the items I need gathered up to build the pin. Everyone have a great day, wether it's raining or sun shining.
Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured.

Good SUNNY Morning...so far. Yesterday started sunny and then by late after (when the swim meet was starting) it rained, and rained, and rained. On the way home, you could see the sunset.

Yesterday was a busy one. No baking though. We all slept in until 9am, which is unheard for me. I had planned to be down to the bank at that point with papers for Kathy's appt for a loan. It's not looking good....they talked about a co-signer and I already told her I wasn't doing it. Then it was off to swim lesson for Blaise. Came home and started making the friend cabbage & noodles for the swim meet. I actually cleaned & mopped. It felt wonderful to come home to a clean kitchen. Probably did to Corky too.

The swim meet only got delayed 15 minutes due to thunder which happened a bit after 5pm. They decided to do all the points swimmers first then the exhibition swimmers last just incase. Blaise was all exhibition last night. Becca came and I was hoping Blaise swim, which he did. It rained almost the whole time, but that didn't bother the swimmers. Now it bothered the guests, and they didn't buy as much as usual from the concession stand. We FINALLY got people to donate hot foods, and a lot of it didn't sell. Came home and watched TV with Becca. I sent Blaise home with her and she already had him showered and a snack. He was waiting for me to give him his new book.

Not sure what today will bring. Thinking of going with Becca up to her apartment to help her sweep and sweep and sweep. Hopefully the fleas are dead. I don't understand why the first flea bomb didn't kill them all. We've done it before and it was all clear. Will probably go out for lunch and then home. I haven't swam all week, so maybe I'll get in today....if it's not raining. I'm sure the restaurant will be calling. Becca & I may go over to my Mom's to play cards this evening.

I'm so sad about Mickie. We share a birth date and usually called each other that day each year.

      Have a good one all!

        Good morning.

Another scorching day ahead, but soon the thermometer will be easing down again. Meanwhile, they've "moved" the Thunderstorms from the weekend to Wednesday and Thursday; it'll be "partly cloudy or partly sunny" til then. *sigh* We really do desperately need this rain.
For what it's worth, that fire has now burned over 26,166 acres, and is only 19% contained. Today will surely reach 110°. The temps should start dropping tomorrow.
E is keeping the trees watered, and I added some Miracle Grow to them. They are looking much better now. I might go out this weekend and add more to their base. Couldn't hurt.

I'm so sorry to hear this news about Micky. She's in my heartfelt thoughts. ❤️

Joystoy, welcome back. Your vacation sounds like it was a lot of fun. Sorry your back is hurting, though.

Sharon, were retired to the point that if it weren't for appointments, we couldn't tell weekdays from weekends. I woke today thinking it's Saturday. I had to check the calendar. Some days (especially if we're reading) a day goes by far too quickly.

Speaking of reading, I got the Kindle book of "The Hamilton Affair"..... it's a very popular Broadway musical, I think. Well, I'm only a few chapters into it. I must say it's well written, and holds one's interest very well.

I wonder if E wants to go shopping today? We have nothing on our agenda til my Doctor Appointment on Monday.
Oh, we got an IRS scam call, and E is taking the information and reporting it to IRS. They accuse you of fraud, and warn you of a legal action suit against you. IRS doesn't work that way.

        Have a great day! ☀️

Good Morning. Slept in this morning and have no reason...of course, I have no reason not to sleep in since there is nothing going on around here. Jostoy so glad your big family vacation was a success. We love cramming into a house and always insist on a pool even on a beach vacation. Mornings in the ocean and afternoons around the pool. Epcot is a favorite of mine but didn't spend much time there...did you ride Soarin? Well, you are not going to believe this....Andrew's baseball team made the playoffs! His mom texted yesterday and we are all going what? win 2 games and you make the playoffs. Must be some kind of a charity thing for especially bad ball teams! BUT, Sunday at 8 we will be traveling out of town for yet another game. My meatloaf was exceptional yesterday but the side dishes kinda sucked but the company and conversation were great. She has been in a very good mood lately and even dropped an early bomb that she has no more grant money and we have to pay for her books this fall. I say kuddos to her for dropping it a month early instead of the day of when she comes in and ask for money to pick up her books. Oh well, hopefully just 2 semesters to go and the fact that she stood up to her mom about not going to Minnesota. We have had some good laughs lately. It is so nice to ask a question and not get something snotty or sarcastic in response. We called the contractor over the porch and he came out last night. He will be back Saturday morning and replace the warped boards and those that shunk so badly that they are popping up. We cannot paint or stain the porch because of all the new wood we have to replace and I am ticked. If these new planks have to age we are back until late fall to paint and we had thought the project would be done by now! I want to shiny stain the porch deck and step treads dark and paint the railings white. New lattice since the slope of the yard was changed slightly. But noooo, we have a stopped project that is an eye sore. Never did get an oil change or tire rotate this week so must do it next week. Going to get hot here! Beth, your kitty sounds like a dandy. Sharon that is funny about weekends and retired people. During the school year I know what day of the week it is but summers are different and with Jon having days off on different weekdays and only every other weekend off I am always wondering what day it is. You would think it would disorient me but it doesn't. i am good at being confused! Happy friday all...sunny and hot here, just the way I like it!!
