One more day! I can do this...for some reason this week has been a real struggle!

I got some good news from my mother the other day about my granny. My granny has agreed to relocate to the assisted living that is 5 minutes from my parents home...My mom is happy about it so I am some what happy I still have my reservations but I think that it will work out. It will be so nice for mom to not be 1.5 hours from Granny when she needs mom. I am looking forward to just spending time with my granny. I plan to spend some time with her when I get back to Centralia...I want to go spend a weekend with her...I can sleep on an air matress in granny's living room....The apartments are not huge but they are not little bitty either...bigger than what she is in right now....The thing that I like the most is that they will make her come out for her meals...They won't allow her to stay in her room to eat. The place that she is living now has allowed her to isolate herself.

Work today...then running to the store then home. Tonight I am cooking dinner for my sister and her family.

      Good Morning.

Ha H! Sassy, your wake-up call. That is too cute. I think our cat King must think like the cat in the gif. He hates to see the bottom of this bowl.

Well, drizzling, so we may get some of the outereffects on the hurricane the next few days. Not too much to be concerned about up here.

Goodness! The yard looks amazing - like it had a haircut and trim. No more "stuff" around flower beds and trees. I have to say weedeaters rock, and so do the young men who use them.

Laundry is calling, so think I'll get going. Trash day, so will look for some stuff to discard.

Newsletter is complete. Do you really think anyone is going to read 24 pages. If I were making decisions, it sure wouldn't be this big. Overkill. Me and the readers.

      Have a good day, everyone.

Good Morning....beautiful one it is but a bit humid already.
Sassy aren't cats just the most demanding things ever? I have two that every morning they think they need at least 15 mins. a piece of attention and getting water from the bathroom sink, one likes it to run down his head while he drinks the other likes you to just put water in the sink...they sure occupy a lot of my morning...

Elaine is sure does look nice outside when all the areas are trimmed and grass mowed, but how long does it last? We need some rain in the worst way, grass is dying and the weeds are taking over...

Beth really good news about your granny, better for everyone.

Hubby and I took the boat out yesterday, we had a wonderful day and beautiful weather for it...the boat is so easy to drive..we stopped at Subway got subs and we ate lunch on the boat floating in the water, had our cooler with us for drinks..I always use 50 spf sunscreen as I am now allergic to the sun and it keeps me from getting that burn/itch...

Well hubby is up now he has been doing his real estate classes at home, will go Sat. for a full day of prepping for his test...by July he will probably have his license.

Plan on spending some time in the pool today...Next Tuesday we are going to Indiana, will stay at a campground, my sister is moving and my husband volunteered to come and do the painting for her in her new house...she nor her hubby are in good enough shape to do that. So I will help her with the moving and unpacking as the rooms get completed...Easier if we stay at a campground and plus we enjoy it...

Well off to start my day, hope your day is a good one.

Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God

      Good morning.
Yesterday turned out to be 115° again, but today's forecast is 108° so hopefully it won't be over 110° and we'll have a few days of relief. Our "excessive heat warning" stretches through Sunday. We were talking about how much more difficult it is to take this desert heat as we get older. We were thinking of moving to a Senior Living home in Phoenix next year..... but they are 5° degrees (average) higher than our temps. They were dealing with about 120° (or close to it) this past week. We are going to be considering that for a while.
It's too hot to do our yard work, but it'll have to get done when we get a break in the heat. I used to do most of it, easily, but my strength and energy have gotten reduced somehow.

Hi sassy....I got a kick out of your "wake up call"!!!
Beth, I'm glad your granny is doing better --- the assisted living place should be good for her.
Elaine, that is a long newsletter! The one I did was maybe 3 sheets of paper, or holidays 4 sheets of paper, folded to be just 6 or 8 pages. That included space for a bit of trivia, a joke or cartoon, or a short recipe.
Sharon, I can't imagine dealing with sun allergy AND camping. I take Vitamin D because I avoid the sun a lot here; it has its dangers.

Well, I've got my tea this morning, but it's time for me to get some cereal. I didn't go shopping yesterday, so I hope to go today, or tomorrow latest. Plus I need to run my ice maker today and refill the ice bin in the kitchen freezer.

Hope everyone has a good day. ☀️

Create a beautiful day wherever you go.

Well, when you do not sleep at night you are up early in the morning! Just one of those nights. Right now the contractor is outside tearing up the old sidewalk and making a lot of noise...our neighbors make a lot of noise with their toys and guns so hope they enjoy an early wake up this morning. Hot hot yesterday..hottest day of the year so far but the boys spent the evening in the pool and I watched the Cardinals win...again!!! Life is slow around here and no one has bothered to cook since before vacation. The lunch meat supply needs replenished but I do not feel like a trip to the grocery. You go in for one thing and end up with $100 in your cart. Not as sunny this morning but a/c is running so must still be hot. Don't know if Andrew will be back today or not.......he has a ball game tomorrow out of town of course. He hit the ice cream pizza last night. Came to the door to see if anyone wanted a piece while it was dripping down his arm. He was eating it in his hand like a piece of pizza. You betcha I wanted a piece but on a plate with a fork please. Brought back the memory of my kids and Tinkers kids running the streets in the summer with Popsicle runs down their dirty arms. They were always dirty! Well, need to get moving. Sharon your retirement sounds perfect and I envy you. Beth, good news about grandma being closer to your mom...it will be easier on both of them. A freshly mowed and trimmed yard is the best view...I used to sit on the porch and look over the yard with satisfaction...for the 24 hours it looked nice! Morning Sassy. Have a great one all!

Those Popsicle stains running down their arms! The red ones really leave their mark even when you scrub them! With the sprinklers it helps to clean them up, but I have learned which brands have the stronger dyes!

Cats and pools! OUr cat who is so quiet and shy is meowing like crazy for me to open up my bedroom window where he likes to sit but it is hot and the wind is blowing from that side of the house...I don't want hot sir blowing in. I will probably give in just to quiet him down.
Our pool pump stopped right in the middle of swimming yesterday. Please let it be a fuse or some kind of easy fix. I had some kind of expensive work done on it a year and a half ago by the old pool cleaning people I used, but their guy was doing less and less and writing down the same times on his work papers and I was being charged higher each month, so I stopped the service in the winter and then found the new company I use now. A friend was telling me how great it is and I have been happy with the work and the lower cost. The pool is a great selling feature of the house if I ever sell and I want to keep it in good condition...
On the other hand, I don't ever want a pool of my own. Give me a cute condo with an HOA and I will be happy! (Not really: I like having my own yard, etc.)
Today is still setting heat records but when I see AZ, Jo, I realize I need to stop and just be thankful for air conditioning and cold water.
The friend and her kids came and got all the books I had for their yardsale for the school trip and some shelves and a few other things. She will be back with her husband to get the big rotisserie chicken cooker. It is heavy. I ordered it and have never used it. One reason it is big and another is it is heavy!
I saw someone posting about how much they loved theirs and thought I needed one. I will just keep buying the ones at the store. I don't buy them that often.
Sharon, the river here is almost crowded in the evening; it is so much cooer, by 15* or lower, on the river. That water is frigid! I have taken kids tubing in years past when I had teens at home and by the time you got out of the water, legs were numb! It comes out from the bottom of the dam up at Shasta. The water temp is in the 50's...The current in the river takes you right under so there is no swimming...
Ok, enough about the heat. I am excited about the day, whatever it brings. Kids are getting turkey sandwiches for lunch with wonderful apricots a grandpa brought with his granddaughter the other day. No heating up the oven.
      Have a good day, Everyone!

Good morning, all. The heat outdoors is debilitating. I didn't go to lunch yesterday due to the heat. I just stayed in with the A/C.

Made myself Baby back ribs and corn for my dinner. Tasted great but my tummy isn't used to fatty meat.
Don't have a BBQ here as they are forbidden on our porches. We do have access to a good one down by the community room but that would mean going out into the heat. The ribs lose more fat on the BBQ.

Have a bad case of fumble fingers due to one of my meds for my back. Not an opiate but it makes me dizzy. It should lessen after I eat something.

        Be well and stay cool.

Paula always seems to come in while I'm typing.

          Good SUNNY Morning!

I never did get here yesterday. The morning was terrible. My sugar level was very low & I had a heck of a time getting it up. I even at 3 cookies...dang it! I took Blaise to VBS, and came home & napped most of the time until noon when I had to pick him up. I felt 75% by that point. We headed into town to deliver the doctor's pie, then made a few other stops before heading home.

Once I got home I got busy baking. When I went into the pantry to get a pie for the restaurant yesterday, my freezer door had been left open about 2-3" all night. The sugar cookies I had flash freezing on trays got ruined, so I had to re-bake those and those for other orders in the next few weeks. I was short by 1 1/2 doz, which if I hadn't had to remake the 3 doz ruined ones, I would have been OK. Oh well. The lady that got wedding cookies from me last month came and got 8 doz cookies for her neighbor's visiting grandchildren. That's so nice of her & good for me. She cleared me out of a couple kinds, so I'll be making those next week. Fortunately they are easy ones.

Day before last Becca decided to go look at cars. Well she went yesterday after work & fell in love with a brand new Suburu. She said she did a spread sheet and she can afford it. Corky went after work to check it out. He is NOT a wheeler & dealer. She's paying sticker price. Made that salesman's day. She really wanted a pearl white one, so they are looking for one for her. She'll probably get it tomorrow. I remember being excited. We would have liked her to look for a used car for less $$, but as long as she can afford it, it's fine. Boy is Kathy going to be jealous. If she was wiser with her money, she could have the same. She's ruined her credit history, therefore she can't get a good interest rate either.

This morning I'm trying to make up for yesterday's loss. I've got a pie baking & then I'll be baking at least 8 doz cupcakes for an order. I then have to ice the 3 doz cookies for that same order. It'll be picked up tomorrow once I get the cupcakes all iced. They are for a graduation. Tonight is Blaise's first away swim meet, so we'll be leaving early to go to that. One nice thing, we can leave the meet as soon as he's done. The home meets I have to stay until the concession stand is all cleaned up.

Have a good one all! Good news about your granny Bethina!
