  • Wednesday June 21st longest day of the year and summer begins

Good Morning to all...it is very cloudy out there this morning...and its only 61 degrees, but supposed to warm up a bit...sure hope so...first day of summer, weird weather we are having.

I broke my little toe yesterday and it hurts like the dickens, its all swollen, red, purple colors, etc. I was on the deck preparing to sit down in my zero gravity lounge chair with my book and walked right into the leg of the chair, well from then on it was ouchy, ouch and came in the house to ice it...was sure tender trying to sleep last night...making sure to wear some flip flops for now, even in the house, don't think I could stand wearing a shoe...oh well, clumsy is as clumsy does..

Looking down at my hands this morning, getting so many lumps and such from the arthritis fingers do not look so good anymore...and I have a hip that is paining me something awful goes down the outer thigh and to the knee....darn this getting older just isn't any fun....have had trouble with it before got a shot in the hip and physical therapy for two weeks...doing the exercises I use to do then...hope it keeps me away from orthopedic Dr.

Well enough moaning and complaining this morning, I will do just what I told Beth to do, 'suck it up buttercup" and get on with living...could be worse..

Well hubby wants to try out the boat today, it is a 2010 Crestliner sport edition, more for fishing than leisure, he deserves it, it has a canopy over driver and passenger if needed..will wear my sun lotion and hat to keep from getting sun poisoning again..was going to fix a roast today but will change the menu to going out to eat...

    Hope JoG's scope went uneventful.
JOSTOY is getting her self all organized for her trip...
    Maxie is fairing well.
    Donna busy as always..
Aunt Maye have you had any time for deck sitting?
Darla are you getting stronger and able to stay by yourself and getting some strength back?
Sassy how are things with you..
    Elaine how is John?
All that is coming to mind at this moment, hope we get more visitors...

Have a great first day of Summer...

Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God

Morning...still having issues with my back...but no time to go get myself checked out...so I will just keep going ..

Work yesterday was ok....Volunteering was short but sweet...I walked in and one of the ladies greeted with me with a huge smile and hug!

My lady will be here early today so I arranged a ride home for which I am thankful with the humidity that supposed to be around today.

Its my turn to serve with the hospitality commity at church at the coffee/snack bar....today we are having make your own ice cream Sundays

Before any of that I am off to make egg sandwiches for my sis and I....not really in the mood for one but she sure does love them.!

      Good Morning.

Just read yesterday's posts and thought I had checked in, but I couldn't find myself. I spent most of the morning mowing and throwing out trash from the shop. Not fun, but somebody has to do it. John can't tolerate inhaling anything irritating. I use a mask, but still get stopped-up head after. Help is coming today to do the weed eating.

John is OK. His HGB is at 8.8, which isn't as good or as bad as it has been. So we are hoping it doesn't drop too much next week. But he feel pretty good. Getting him a haircut today.

I chuckled at Paula and her storage unit. We've never used one, but unfortunately have a shop and a shed and when things left the house intended for the trash, I always found them in the shop. Now I have to deal with what I threw out and he decided to keep. Ha Ha!

Better get going. Lots to do always. Have a good day, Everyone.

        Good Morning .

Finally dressed and moving .... when a cat and a husband made enough noise to wake me at 5am.. I get up a grumpy morning person.. I like silence in the morning before coffee .. no talking please... never got moving until about 8am.. and 2 cups coffee later.. got some needed .

wiping in kitchen for about an hour,, .. those trays under the burners.. all shining now.. and counter tops are appearing .. as I start to hide stuff...Company coming..on the July 1.. need to make serious counter top space.. I only get concerned about places in the house where Company sees. ... like the Fridge, the silverware drawer.. the bathrooms.. .and will get the deck all nice and neat,clean... yes I have been decksetting.. love it love it! Shove stuff under my bed.. no one will look there ,,,

Elaine, does John sleep a lot? ... David dozes off and on all day..

Sharon,,, how does the song go..." you.ve (we've) only just begun ".... the knees, the ankles. the hips.. the finger joints are the beginning.. or maybe yours is the spine?.. (thats David's baddy.) .mine is knees.. yor are right.. getting old is really not a lot of fun...even getting new parts.. like knees. are not like the originals.. thank heavens for pain pills...for me, I can make it on Ibuprofen or Tylenol.. so far.. don't need the heavy duty stuff that David takes.

gotta go.. Im being paged by my "boss?"...see you later

Take it one Day , one step, at a time.. cause that's all we really have.

          Good Wednesday morning!
Elaine, hate to admit it but I have a good sized shed in the back yard, too. However, it is now so well organized, cleaned out and only about half filled. It had been a depository for things of no use...but things I couldn't deal with. tubs of my kids' things after they moved out, old books, etc. some boxes of dishes that I no longer used, but were too good to donate, whatever that means. I donated those things with only one mention they were from my wedding. No one even knows brand names around here...
And the purging continues: I saw a friend post about a yard sale she is having for her kids' school trip to China! I had just been going through all the lifejackets I got at the end of last summer and have 6 to donate. All new, but too little. all the infant ones were given to me by the manager of our Big 5 sports store (who I used to have in daycare!)
Sharon, that is a popular boat around here. Lots of people fishing on the river and in the lakes...one neighbor down the street has one!
Sassy, I can't wait to see the quilt!
I made a tied fleece blanket for a rescue dog who is being fostered until it is adopted. I saw a YOuTube tutorial that showed a method of cutting a slit in each loop and threading it through the loop instead of tying. I did that because my carpal tunnel was hurting too much to tie. I had surgery on both wrists but they are both coming back and with pain this time. Last time there wasn't any pain, which made the one specialist doubt I had it until he started poking and then all he kept saying was, Oh, very bad, very bad...I told him I was self employed and wasn't doing it for the time off!
I have done the bathroom floor and now need to go do the kitchen floor. Before it gets too hot to do anything.
As much as I dislike the mess of getting into and out of swim suits and all that goes with it, I am so glad I have things the kids can do to be outside in the shade and do water play. They need to move around...at least before the temps are too high. Which comes around 10:30 here! That was when it hit 100* yesterday.
Maxie, it sounds busy as always at your house.
Take care of yourselves and all those around you!

Morning..going to be hot today. Love it!!! But not as hot as those westerners are getting. Whew! Boys swan yesterday and wanted their pizza outside so Sierra and I stayed inside and talked. I just came out and ask her if she was happy here. Mommy Dearest calls and texts every day asking so thought I would ask too. She says she is very happy being back and her friends have noticed she is happier...she is gaining weight back and even her bf's mother has commented on that. She also admitted that it was MD's fault she moved out the last time and all this school transfer stuff happened. AND she is very mad at her mother for leaving here just because her boyfriend told her they were leaving but is glad they are gone. She said for the first time she has freedom and no curfews or lectures even if I wait up every night. Maybe a light is shining! Finally!! The contractor stopped by to see if JULIE had been here so he can start work but no JULIE. I really wanted this project finished before Jon goes back to work on Monday. I do not like dealing with contractors and workers or being responsible when it is not my money. I do not understand why things never run smoothly when we do a project around here. Sierra is working today and Drew says he may be back to swim this afternoon so that is all the news from here. Have ironing to keep me busy and should run the vacuum. Does anyone have a Air Fryer? I need a review. Enjoy the day peeps, stay cool...no one cut into the ice cream pizza so no cooking for me today. Ouch on that poor toe Sharon.

            Good morning.
The scoping went okay. They found two polyps, which of course got clipped out. The nurses were very informative and cheerily helpful. They did great using my port.....I barely felt a thing, but you do hear the needle pop in and later out. The doc didn't come by to see me til I was set up to be put to sleep, how last minute can you get! They're supposed to talk to you when you get there. I didn't see him again. After I woke, dressed, they said to stay off my blood thinner til Thursday, but I can take my other prescriptions and vitamins right away.

E did take me out to eat afterwards. I chose IHOP. The first one we stopped at, had no toilet paper or paper towels in the bathroom. I guess the employee he spoke to was unconcerned, so he asked for the manager. He came to the table and told me about that, and if employees had no way of washing their hands, he questioned the sanitary conditions in that place, so we left. The next IHOP was better. We had our brunch and came home. I napped for an hour. He fixed us frozen dinners for supper. I could eat only half of mine. Found myself dozing on and off, so went to bed early. And I slept in til 6 this morning.

Hope I get my energy back today. I do want to go shopping, as we need meats. E wants me to make another batch of those sausage patties (Sharon's recipe), as well as meat loaf patties. And I hope they'll have chicken on sale, too.

So today is still forecasted at 112°. It's 80° right now. (Yesterday it actually reached 116°, and the 10% chance of rain???? Well, we saw no raindrops, but the concrete block fence had areas of darkness - which indicates moisture - all over it.). Saw two tiny black and red finches sitting on our fence, too. The lizards have dug tunnels going under the patio and house, to cool off. They must be desperate, as the "dirt" her is not a nice soil, but hardens.

Sharon, I'm sorry about your toe. Ouch is right! Arthritis isn't pretty when it sets in. My fingers had started to twist (the middle finger on my right hand is twisted and somewhat bent - fun to show that off!), but no lumps fortunately.

Beth take care. Can you call your doctor about the back issues you have?

Elaine, I'm glad to hear that John is okay and feeling good.

            Hello to everyone else, too.

Today is the summer solstice... the night will be equally long as the day. Anybody going to follow the ancient tradition of dancing naked outside at midnight? (I'm not either!).

            Have a wonderful day. ☀️

Wow, 4 people popped in while I was typing. I'm getting slower at typing.
