Well my goodness where is everyone? I got off to a rocky start, my trash compactor got stuck and was making a horrible noise, so had to wake hubby up, went out and tripped the switch in electric box....hated to wake him up before 7:00 a.m. but knew I had to, well it is now over two hours later and he has taken it apart and found that the drive wheel broke...so much thick greasy goop...well thank gosh for RepairClinic.com they are our go to place when we need parts or pieces..found what we were going to need and ordered it...I can still put trash in just can't compact it, works for me...this is my 4th trash compactor, once you've had one you never want to go back to a regular trash can, LOL...

Supposed to be a scorcher out there today I will wait until the sun is off of the pool then get in....will be my first time in...looking forward to it..

My birthday was last Wednesday got phone calls and cards from all the kids except did not get a card from my daughter which is unusual but it came in the mail yesterday along with a pkg. with a T-Shirt inside from Bob Evans that said, "I love you like Biscuits & Gravy"...brought a smile to my face as her hubby and my grandgirls love my biscuits and gravy, the grandgirls say mine are better than Cracker Barrels and Bob Evans, LOL...it seems her Mother in law who lives here in Ohio saw it and bought it and sent it to GA so Kris could in turn send it back to me...I loved it.. Yesterday she sent me videos of the girls doing cartwheels in the water they were going kayaking...a first for the grandgirls who are 8 and 10, they loved it...there is one thing for sure my daughter does not let the girls play on IPad's and watch tv all day, they go outside and play and she is always searching for an adventure for them. They are both on swim teams also...

Well time to decide what to fix for brunch, LOL....have a good day one and all...if anyone else shows up...we are dwindling fast on here.
Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God

Good morning, Sharon, and all who follow.
I've been putzin' around for about an hour.
Nice and sunny here, today dropping to the mid 90s for a few days. Peeked ahead at the forecast, and the triple digits will return climbing hotter than before.
The newspaper says that the merged wildfires have consumed 10,500 acres now, and still burning. Part of one of the fires is under control, but overall it's still a danger. It was started by lightning striking the dry grasses.

Sharon, a belated happy birthday to you. Your family obviously loves you a lot ❣
Mine is later this week. I'm finally getting my haircut that morning. 😊

Can't think of anything newsworthy here.
    Have a wonderful day! ☀️

Good morning! sunny but cool here. church will be at 10:00 instead of 9:00 and it will be in another town just north of me with other congregations...so I am not leading the music and can sit with Becky in the regular pews and just enjoy. I always enjoy church, but not having to be up front and lead the music is a day off!
After church we are visiting a couple of friends and taking cookies. One is an older couple who live in an assisted living center, except in going for a walk, Vicki was pushing Norm in his wheelchair and tripped and fell and broke her hip. so, after surgery she is in another convalescent hospital until she is able to go back to the living center...their son is staying with the dad and we just thought cookies were needed all around!
I said I was making a dog blanket for a rescue dog, right? It is one of the tied fleece kind, except I saw a YOuTube video that showed a couple different methods. The second one (I did say this, didn't I?) was the one that didn't reqire a lot of little finger tying and after I went back to Walmart to buy more scissors (I still haven't found my other good pair) it went even faster. the pinking shears were good, but harder on my hand to use. Becky will mail it for me tomorrow. the dog is in a rescue in Texas.
Grilling outside today and eating a great salad we made yesterday...just need to add some apples to it. It is a spinach with nuts and apples and cheese.
Hope you all have a good day! Relaxing and restful!

Good Morning! It's a sunny one this morning.

Yesterday was good. A busy one in the kitchen...now there is something new! LOL! Tonight we are playing cards here, and we are doing it early so Becca can get home at a decent time. 5:30am comes awful quick. I was rooting through my freezer the other day & found a bag of ham leftover from Easter, so we are going to have scalloped potatoes with a layer of ham in it. It always tastes better the second day, so I made it up yesterday morning & baked it. It'll be rewarming it on a low temp. While that was going, I got a call from an older customer who ALWAYS asks me the same question...do you have any apple pies in the freezer? I always answer the same....no, but I'll gladly make you a fresh one. While that was baking, I mixed up a couple carrot cakes & popped them in the oven once the pie came out.

We grilled last night too. Since ours is a charcoal grill, I try to grill several days worth of meat since it stays hot for a few hours. Also made some sloppy joes with the remaining hamburger, which are good for lunches. After dinner we went down to the pool. It's not warm enough yet for me to get in. The water needs to be at LEAST 80 degrees before my big toe gets dipped in.

This morning we went to church & SS. It was Senior recognition Sunday, and they ask be to bake or make up trays totally 22 doz. We have 2 services...8am & 10:45am. First service wiped out the 2 platters pretty quick, so I can only imagine how fast the 3 trays for late service will go. Becca & her BF Krista left after church & went out to breakfast to catch up. I love Krista. She makes me laugh.

Now I need to start getting my thoughts together for cards tonight. Need to make a fruit salad and a strawberry pie. Going to make up some kind of pasta dish that Corky will actually eat since he doesn't do potatoes or ham. It's a win win because then he'll have leftovers for the week. Everyone is coming at 4pm and then the guys are going off to do their own thing (my brother will go home & mow). Us ladies will then play cards....my Mom, SIL, Becca, and me. They are in charge of snacks/munchies.

Best get busy. Have to leave time to nap. Have a good one all!
