  • Sunday ~ May 21 ~ Hello~

    Good Morning, Friends.

Dark and stormy morning. Stormed all night - nothing severe, but all is clean and cooled down.

Have my dessert for church ready, now I just have to get me ready.

Hope you all have a very wonderful Sunday.

Good Morning. A very dark, dreary, wet morning here...and a 70% chance of more thunderstorms today so my idea for supper grilling out will have to change, will come up with something else...
Yesterday was a busy day, got 5 of my flower pots done before I saw lightning then I stopped, have about 5 more to complete...hoping at some point I can get at least 3 of them done today...I bought two of those pots you can put on your railing so I have two of those to get done for the deck...I think next year I might downsize those because it is so gosh darn expensive to buy the flowers and potting soil. Hubby got my hangers on the front porch installed so I could hang my baskets.
Been on a mission to use up all the foods I have in the freezer, so each day is a thought process of what to fix, but I want to get it used up before I buy anymore meats, I have a hard time resisting a good sale, LOL...Also watched the Nascar races yesterday, getting to the point they are not as interesting as they once were, I know they are trying to get a handle on accidents, holding grudges, etc. but they sure have taken a lot of enjoyment out of them..
About time to get some ideas on where I would like to travel and camp at this year, a good thing to do on a rainy day while hubby will be inside also, we can sit in the family room with out laptops and compare notes, LOL...
Have a good day one and all...its so good to feel like doing so many things, please pray my somewhat good health continues..

Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God

Don't wait for 6 strong men to take you to church.

      Good morning.
A quiet, sleepy Sunday here. So why did I awake at 5a.m.? Guess I ran out of sleep.
Got some caramel coffee pods, so that's what I'm having right now. ☕️ It needs neither cream nor sugar, and it's still yummy. Today should be a sizzler for us, 97°. The triple digits will arrive Thursday I think, as the forecast stands. Hoping there won't be any grass fires 🔥.

Not much happening here. Ho-hum. I'll probably look into my craft room and see what I can give to grandkids. One girl is quite the artist. One DD enjoys crafting as well. One DD enjoys crocheting, and has quite a business going.

Other than that, the first order of the day is to bring in the newspaper, and enjoy my coffee. 🤗

      Have a super-duper day.

Create a beautiful day wherever you go.

        good morning

        sunshine.. yea...

great day yesterday,, Jacobs college grad. program. with V.Pres. as main speaker... security was immense! secret servicepersonal both visible and "invisible" everywhere .. no problems tho.. never got the feeling anyone was in danger.. Vp. Pense had a good talk .. there were many Tv station camera set-ups.. we watched the evening news. and it was kind of funny to see how the announcer took some o the speech content and "re defined it".. have not and will not be trusting Tv news reporters .. was a very long day for we guest s.. but Jacob had to do photo poses with his friends. and family..
was also a great Birthday.. lots of nice phone messages.. and cards .. D. had got a cake and ice cream . some family showed up to eat it.

now today is Bethany Baton recital. inside, where it is warm... and I won't be staying to the end .. will leave after her solo. David has been home alone enough this week.. so far he has not fallen.

Paula I need to do the same with my freezer.. take inventory and then use up the meats ...

better get moving . get organized for Church ... see you all later
Take it one Day , one step, at a time.. cause that's all we really have.

Thanks for telling us about the news...how they can twist up a college graduation address is beyond me! I should say Why would they do that????
And it is Sharon who is clearing out the meat in the freezer, but a good idea for me to do, too. I have some that probably just should go!

good Sunday morning and it is 65* out. Sunny and going to 99* today, but when the guy says 99, I just say 100. It never seems to stop at 99.
Yesterday after attending two pet shelter fundraisers, one to drop off dog beds and one to buy dog treats, we went to a new ice cream place. Basically it is a build whatever you want with doughnut ice cream sandwiches. Or milkshakes with doughnuts featured in the design. I had a sandwich with chocolate almond ice cream and Nutella and marshmallow cream drizzled inside. They warm it up so the doughnut is warm and the ice cream still cold. Pretty good and just what the Anderson kids would love: their favorite desserts growing up were doughnuts and ice cream. Saturday morning after delivering newspapers it was the tradition to go get doughnuts for the family. And Baskin Robbins was the gold standard for ice cream. So, of course, Becky and I texted pictures to Stuart and Spencer.
Spencer had texted us pictures of the thunder storm on Friday. They are still amazed at how different the weather is in Maryland than what they are used to.
After the ice cream treat, we came home and searched for swimsuits and Finally found them. In a beach tote in the back of my closet. I had bought two Adirondak style chairs at a friend's moving sale and after getting in the pool (slowly and with a lot of gasping at the water temp), sat out and almost dozed off. I did a few laps and floated around with the pool noodles and just enjoyed the day.
I finally went to Walmart for groceries and didn't do much else. We were both still talking about the graduation. Who knew a 2 year community college graduation could make someone so happy?
Becky has been through a lot and when she started back to school it was taking just one class to see if she could do it (her words).
Today it will be church and then home to water and barbecue. I have chicken marinating and hamburger to do, too. The chicken will be cooked up and used for lunch during the week.
I hope you all have a great day!
Maye, we also went to a used book store yesterday and bought a stack of books...I didn't get to mine, yet. Maybe today.

Morning! Scott just left for his reception and will not be coming back here. it was nice to see him even if just for a few hours. Jon was forced to work overtime so never got to see his brother. Sierra came in early last night but is showering to get out of here this morning. She did get up early to visit with her Uncle. Short and sweet visits are not all always that satisfying but something is better than nothing I guess. He brought me a couple of tee shirts from his last trip. Ok, I love souvenir tees! They make up a lot of my wardrobe. Have no plans for today. Yesterday we hung some things in Sierra's room and I have been doing an awful lot of laundry for someone who will be doing her own...her words. Mommy dearest is now residing in the state of Minnesota! They arrived late last night and good riddance..omg, Sierra has her on speaker phone right now! I am still hearing her voice!!! Another storm rolled through last night. Cardinal game was already in rain delay when the satellite went out so I missed nothing...St. Louis and I were sharing the same storm. 3 nights, 3 storms, 3 inches of rain. We never just get a gentle rain anymore. Gotta change Andrew's bed since it had a guest last night. Jon will come in and drop after working a double yesterday and working today, Sierra is going to shower and take off for the day and probably most of the evening. Afternoon Cardinal game so we all know where I will be. Sunny, windy and much cooler. Wish it would dry out so we can start to paint the porch. Even the commentators of last nights game were commenting on how much rain St. Louis gets and how the field is fixed to drain so well. We are the capital of rain this year!! Happy Sunday to all...

Good morning finally a warm sunshiny day. Not sure of plans for today. GD is here for the weekend. Asked her what she likes for snacks so Granny can pick some up when she goes to the store. Have to get son-in-law that what I buy and bring hete is for anyone who wants to eat it. Ellen told him "mom is going to get them what they want within reason."

Afternoon all! It's raining here now. Yesterday turned out nicer than expected.

I don't think I got here yesterday. My feet hit the floor running. Had planned to go into town & then home to bake, BUT Cork wanted to go to yard sales, so off we went. I got a few really good deals. One was a winter coat for Blaise next year. Met some nice people too. After we were done, we all headed into town. Stopped at WM then Aldi's. Waited 10 minutes until the Chinese buffet opened, then we had lunch there. THEN it was home to bake off 3 kinds of cookie dough.

By late afternoon it finally got warmer, so we worked on the pool a bit. Cork mowed the yard. He came across a snapping turtle, and Blaise got a big kick out of that. He sat out in the yard and took pictures of it and watched it for a while. Having no electronics has been a good thing. Oh speaking of Blaise, got a call from his teacher. Hmmmmmm. He's got a major case of ants in his pants. There was also some trading of toys & bribing with "I'll be your friend IF". Long story.

Last night Kathy called & ask if we'd bring Blaise down there after church. She was SUPPOSE to work until 4pm today, but ended up only working an hour. They made it worth their time though. After church & SS we took him down. Stopped at home to change & eat lunch, then headed into town to check out the flea market Cork wanted to go to. Now it's cookie baking time. Also prepping for a picnic dinner today with Kathy & Mike. Told her to bring extra meat if they want to grill it & take home. Once you get a charcoal grill going, it's good for a while to cook on.

Now the plan is for Kathy & Mike to "sweep" the bottom of the pool. Hopefully the rain moves out of here in a bit.

          Have a good one all!
