  • Saturday Morning Sunrise

Good Morning to all....yes there is a beautiful sunrise out this morning, now the sun is shining and supposed to be a nice day...going to get the deck furniture wiped off then going to do some front porch sitting and enjoy the beautiful day...Hubby will be back from his fishing trip late this afternoon, I have worked my buns off getting the house cleaned, laundry done, etc. and even cleaned the garage, he never cleans the garage and it drives me crazy, I like the floor swept and shelves dusted, his response "its a garage". LOL

Think we will have prime rib, baked potato and a salad for supper, sounds good to me, I love prime rib..

Not much else going on for me, get a shower, blow my hair dry and I will be ready for the day, will probably get the salad prepped...

Oh last night when talking to my hubby he said the guys were all sitting around talking one morning and a few of them said, "the only thing missing when we come here each year is some sausage gravy", my youngest son said, "my Mom makes the best, she can make us some next year". Got to love to son of mine that he thinks so highly of my cooking abilities, cookies, potato salad, coleslaw, now I will add gravy to that.

Well time to get my day started find something for breakfast, a poached egg sounds good to me..

Hope the sun is shining wherever you are..

Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God

    Good Morning.

Hi Sharon! Better sit while you can.

Gorgeous morning here. I must get the yard mowed today but will have to wait for dew to dry.

Paula, I loved the sound of your kids fingerprint frames. How fun!

I have been called to the kitchen. Will check on you all later. Hugs ~ ~ ~

      Good morning.
It's light out, but the sun hasn't climbed over the mountain yet. Nor have the winds started yet.
Today's laundry day. Other than that.....whatever,
I'd like to find stuff to toss or give away. I'll probably look in the closets and cupboards to see what I don't or haven't used.

Time to make my cuppa mocha, and think about breakfast.
Nothing is sooo happening around here.

Wishing you all a great day! ☀️

Good Morning! Another dreary one. Hope Sharon's sunshine arrives here this afternoon.

Yesterday was a busy one. Took Blaise in for his yearly check up. He's good to go for another year. We had an early lunch out and then a trip to the library. At home I got busy making all kinds of icing & fillings. Iced 4 doz cupcakes & 2 BD cakes. What a mess!!!! Later in the evening I filled the 6 Oreo crusts with PB pie filling & Samoa pie filling.

The big news yesterday was Blaise FINALLY lost his first tooth. We were reading his book and he was goofing around and out it popped. The tooth fairy remembered to come.
Called the restaurant we had PLANNED to go to today after graduation, only to find out they were totally booked already for the entire weekend. So much for that idea. We decided to go to the Chinese restaurant. Works for Becca and the rest of us.

This morning I'm trying to finish up a few things. Got the ladylocks all packaged and finished dipping the Oreo balls. Still short 1 1/2 doz, so will be making more of those, but will wait for another day. Think we'll go deliver the cupcakes & pies after my shower. Can't decide what to wear to the graduation since it's not going to be very warm, but not cold enough for a winter jacket. I may still wear my light winter coat just to be on the safe side. My Mom & SIL are going with us too, and Becca's best friend came up last night & stayed with Becca. She'll be sitting with us too. Blaise is going to be staying at my cousin Karen's for the day. He may end up at Aunt J's too. He'll be fine.

        Have a good one all!

Cookie, I agree with maxie in what she said. I sure hope you don't wear a top with buttons. If you did, you will be exposing yourself to the world. I know those buttons will pop off with proudness( is that a word).

An absolutely beautifully sunny and almost warm morning. Andrew just came in...he and dad have ball practice this morning then he is going to his uncles farm to 'work' with his uncle and cousin. He loves the farm and knows more about turkeys than I ever thought I wanted to know. They also have chickens but this kid is turkey crazy! He also brought in a bag of dirty work clothes that I have to get washed and dried before baseball. At least he came in all happy and smiley and carried the bag to the basement for me. Those stinkers have been laying around for a while! After he is deposited we are heading to St.Louis for a Mother's Day afternoon hosted by my nephew and his family. I have seen everyone since Christmas but not all together so I am looking forward it. Last night Jon brought in a bouquet of red roses for Mother's Day. Made me a little nostalgic...his father was not one to bring flowers for every occasion but the first time he ever brought red roses was when Scott was born and the second when Jon was born. Guess Mother's Day is the day to have that memory. At school Andrew made his mom a Popsicle stick decorated can with a petunia in it so he decided he only needed candy to complete his gift. When we got home I wrapped the box and put a pink ribbon on it and he was so surprised...thanked me for making the candy pretty. Jon said his mother was wonderful with accepting the gift. Kids just melt your heart! Well, then there is that bag of dirty laundry that is still stinking up the living room...it is melting my nose! I am going to have to spray!! By getting up earlier this week I have managed to get more done around the house. Kitchen cleaned up real nice yesterday and I even thought about the bathroom but decided to leave something to do for another day...I have a lot of little chores saved up for rainy days! But I can guarantee you this house will be spotless with everything in it's own place the night before we leave for vacation. If I have to come home to a mess I rather not leave. The boys have always bitched about that but that is how I am. I will also leave them sitting with the car running while I make a last sweep of the house and make sure all appliances are unplugged and doors locked...and towel hung. I really have to spray in here and maybe should have thrown the laundry bag in with the clothes...enjoy this gorgeous day. We have a heat wave coming in for next week. Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maxie, I'm just like you...don't want to walk into a dirty house when I get back from vacation. Have no idea where that thought came from because as a child at home, we were too poor to take vacations. In fact I don't know if that word even existed when I was a child.

It is a beautiful sunny day here and I am up and ready for the day.
The frames turned out so cute! Their little finger prints make the best five petal flowers. Two moms opened when they got here and hugged me and cried a little. The one mom had no choice because her 3 1/2 year old said here is your present and I will help you open it...as he was tearing into it! They loved wrapping their gifts as much as the painting. Anyway, it is worth the cost and the effort to see how much they love them. I bought an extra frame to use for one of the school girls whose toddler brother is here and I know the mom will want it. They get regular family and individual pictures taken, so have lots of great photos of their kids.
We had a really good dinner last night. It was a fundraiser for an 8th grade trip to Washington DC and NYC...for 12.00 we got tri-tip, beans, salad, a roll and a cookie. It was a prepaid ticket and I drove tot he school, gave my three tickets and was handed three dinners in Styrofoam in bags and drove away. My mom and Becky and I and dinner was great! I saw on a friend's Facebook page that her son was selling tickets and is saving for the trip. I love this kind of thing and would rather do this than buy the cookie dough some of the schools sell.
We are having a barbecue tomorrow. Becky had asked me what I wanted and that is it! It will be our first time grilling here this year and we need to get that out and checked today. We have the charcoal kind, which I prefer.
Laundry will be after Becky gets hers done. I have a nail appointment at 1:00 and then we will go to Macy's in Redding to shop. She is looking for pants to wear for graduation and like I said yesterday, I am looking for a dress or something. I will know it if/when I see it...
I hope you all have a fun day and a wonderful weekend.

Paula, money is better spent helping someone in getting what they need/want.

Sharon, couldn't comment on your post so will just say...hope your vacation was good as it is coming to an end this afternoon.

Has anyone else noticed that the comment doesn't come up for the one who starts the thread.
