  • Oh My gosh the sun is shining Saturday morning.

A beautiful morning to wake up to, the sun is shining hoping for a beautiful day out...so tired of rain and dreary weather...

Hubby left the house at 6:00 a.m. this morning for his fishing trip hope they have some decent fishing weather for Northern Pike..
Everyone was looking forward to the cookies, potato salad and coleslaw...some homemade goodies...don't think any of the other wives do it, if they do hubby has never spoke of it.

I am in the mood for a Quiche Lorraine, have not had one in years, hubby is not crazy about it so will make it for myself, will be enough for the whole week, LOL also like to fix liver and onions while he is gone but with blood thinners they discourage that...boo hoo...

I love the hubby but looking forward to my time alone, haven't had that since he retired....my cousin and I have a day together planned already...

Well off to get that pie crust made and the other prep to have my quiche..hope everyone gets some sunshine today...

Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God

Good morning...I am up early....Today is the day that my sister and her husband come home...I will miss being with my parents and nieces but I think that everyone is kind of aching to get back into their own routine...Mom's ankle seems to be better..she never did need crutches...

My nieces have swim team practice this morning...we will go watch that....I need to go to sam's so we will have lunch their...

    My sister's plane comes around 430 I think...not 100 % sure...

I shall go to bed early tonight....The activities of the week plus work have worn me out.

      Good Morning.

Gorgeous weather here, as well. At last. Yesterday was a perfect day and today looks like the same. Good time to get out and get some Vitamin D.

Making buttermilk pancakes right now. Waiting for the iron to heat.

Also making bran muffins today and ham salad filling for sandwiches for church That should keep me busy most of the morning.

TX Rangers played Seattle last night. Game started at 9 and went 13 innings. We got in bed at nearly 2a. But winning makes it worth it, since the Rangers are doing very little of that.

Well, I hear my waffle iron talking to me. Better go. Have a super duper Saturday.

        Good morning!
Well, we Did hit triple digits yesterday. 102°! 🌵 We had a minute of finely sprinkled rain and some big winds blowing dust. The car is therefore dotted with bits of mud. Today's forecast is for 92° and more winds today. Tomorrow, just 77°.
        Crazy temps, hey?

Yesterday I took a new dress to the tailor's for a better fitting. The two short darts at the underarms, and a bit of hemming, will cost almost as much as the dress.
Then we went to Kohls, and I'm looking for capris with elastic waists. I accidentally picked up a pair of long pants, and they were a beautiful fit. The 3 pair of capris didn't. And I grabbed a pair of capris with the same label and hope they fit as well. I wasn't in the mood to try on any more, I was getting tired. I can always return them later. They had a sale going on, and I saved 25% on my purchase. That pleased me! Clothing will be a bit of a problem for me. I not only have the lump from the spleen surgery, but now I no longer have a defined waistline since the last surgery. I need elastic waistbands now because the button & zipper on the older pants get to hurting my tummy if I'm sitting. 😐

We didn't do our grocery shopping yesterday, but E picked up milk & fruit and vanilla wafers on the way home.
Well do that another day, but not today.

Well, nothing spectacular going on here.
It was nice seeing ARM's post yesterday.
My cuppa mocha is calling me.

Hope you have a great day. I wish you all some warm sunshine'y weather. ☀️

Good DREARY Morning! Yesterday eventually turned out pretty for a while.

Yesterday turned out to be a very busy day in the kitchen. Baked 7 doz cupcakes and got them iced. 3 doz of them had to be in the shape of a cross. The other order was for individual cupcakes. While I had the mixing bowls messed with cake batter, I mixed up and baked the cakes for next weekend's BD celebrations...SIL & Blaise's. We celebrate them together on MD. I put the naked cakes in the freezer & will ice them next weekend. The restaurant called & I had to get their order ready & delivered. That all made for a very messy kitchen that I kept cleaning up & messing up again & again. I finally pooped out & the sink was full with the last mixing bowl. Making 4 rounds of icing is messy.

Went down & saw my niece & her date before the prom. They looked so nice! She looked like a Barbie doll. Beautiful!

This morning I slept in & didn't want to, or rather didn't mean to. We've got 3 boys coming to play for Blaise's BD "party". I've ordered pizza, going to make a fruit salad, and a plate of veggies. If they eat it..fine, if not...we will later. Becca is picking up the pizzas on her way through town. She's coming for a short visit to give Blaise his BD gift from her. She has Sorority activities going on this weekend, & since she's not working, she can go. Now I'm going to be baking sugar cookies. Oh....Blaise's BD cake will be cupcakes. I'm going to let the boys pick out naked cupcakes, then they can ice them & decorate them however they want. I'll have all kinds of sprinkles & such for them to pick from. I've also bought 4 Pokemon packs and they each get one & they can trade among themselves if they want to. Not doing a traditional "party".

Well, better get busy chopping fruit & veggies. Have a good one all!

            Good morning ,,

repeating Donna, yucky start outside.. think the sun is trying .. but her and I like Real Sunshine!!!!.

got my cookies all delivered to bake sale/rummage sale at church yesterday... told the gal in charge to call if they though they would need a couple pies today..... no phone call came yesterday.. so I did not get up and bake this morning ...will freeze the doughs.. not making any more sweets this weekend... I have munched on cookies for 3 days now.. (my knees will not be happy if I gain back any of the hard won weight lose.)..

JoG. fitting and fixing garments are a time consuming process... have done much of that for my family and a lot of it for piano students.. prom gowns etc.. wish I could find some reasonable slacks that Fit..

went to gddau Bethany's musical at school...Aladdin.. she was the magic carpet..... and stole the show! did not speak but grinned and gestured and had fun!.... she also danced with group . with a solo part in it... Left DAvid at home ,He had worked at sawmill and was hurting ,,, gddau,Shawna drove me there on a rainy wet evening .

Hi Bethina, SassyGirl, Elaine and Sharon,,,
Sharon,, ah a little husband-free time... Yea,, this retired guy at home is hard to get used to. ( if you ever do).. except for Elaine's John..he is a prize package!!!!!

It is overcast and have a slight wind that is supposed to get windier...But, no air on and the outside air felt so good when I took Roxy out. I was moving toys and bikes off the patio and it just felt great to be out there.
Jo, any time they tell me 99* I know it will be higher...never lower. Why is that? And factoring in kids and their activities and such just increases what I feel inside. The one downside is I was going to go in the pool this weekend, but not with temps in the upper 70's and a breeze...
Becky and I are driving to the airport to pick up my mother. Yesterday my brother was texting me pictures of some of the rides they were on with the Expedition Everest roller coaster as the finale! My mom went on it with him next to her, so I guess I will be brave and go on it if and when I ever get to Florida.
The cookie baking has got to me with all you girls are doing (and if any guys out there are baking I am including you!) I saw a lemon cookie on Facebook last night and saved it to do this weekend. Since it won't be too hot today, I will do it when I get back.
that roast you said you made and the one Maye did last week, Barb, got me to thinking about one, too.I am thinking of doing one in the oven the way I used to and see if the meat will not be stringy. We have a meat market in town and I may go there. It is more expensive but I am so tired of the same old meats. I love lamb shanks, but have not made them, just ordered at restaurants.
Maxie, I hope those waters go down...I watch the news and have seen a lot of bad weather...all you people take care!
I better get moving. It can be deceptive thinking I have a day off!
Love you all and hope today is what you want it to be.
Sharon, enjoy the quiet and your quiche! I order that often, also.

The sun is still shining and the furnace is not running! Cardinals and my beloved Blues both won so we avoided elimination and hockey will have at least another game this season on Sunday. Unlike Elaine both games were early...yikes I hate those late night games! Did not hear from Sierra so guessing all is well in her world..until it isn't and then she is on the phone. Andrew came in and announced he is feeling better...he was so happy that he got to go out and run with the kids. It took him a week to get over that strep. He does not like stew so for supper he had a grilled cheese and 2 corn dogs and came in later for another sandwich. I know that is not very nutritious for a kid coming off a sickness but it was friday and I have had a hard week. Guess I sounded like a Debbie Downer all week but you just get so aggravated. Mommy Dearest texted again yesterday..wonder if she isn;t going to miss me? Who wouldn't miss this cheery attitude, smiling face and giving nature? I crack myself up! I think I may go through Kohl's today and since I have a coupon, Kohl's cash and a reward I might pick Andrew up some vacation shirts. I have bought him all new summer clothes but don't want to wait and get them from his mom only to find them not in very good shape. Not that she doesn't take care of his clothes because she does but I line hang some shirts to avoid shrinkage. He has these nice brand name shirts and yesterday he comes out with a plain tee and says he likes this shirt because it doesn't stain and I should get more. Nothing like a 4.00 walmart shirt to but a smile on both our faces. But I will probably end up going on to Kohl's and paying 4 times more for a shirt because I have a darn coupon and Kohl's cash. I am a pathetic shopper sucked in by a 'bargain' and a coupon. It has been windy the last couple of days so things are drying out and now grass needs cutting. With Jon working this weekend and Drew gone he will come in and go straight to his cave only coming out to look for food. I have a hankering for taco bell..I know I hardly ever eat that junk but it just sounds good so I will grab a couple for him for supper. Or I could drive through Pantera's for a soup and sandwich...look at me, still in my jams drinking coffee and worrying about lunch. I must be all back to normal if I am already worrying about lunch! Cookie you are a wonder throwing a party for a bunch of little boys and then giving then icing and sprinkles. Holy Cow! Have a beautiful Saturday and Sharon I would never cook for myself if I had the week free...enjoy the quiet. Jo did you check Penney's for elastic waist? Beth, glad things will be back to normal for you. Sassy, hard to think graduations are starting already and I like green bean casserole and Elaine's pancakes sound delish. I am off to shed my jams and take myself off shopping...and lunch of course!
