Good Morning! Another wet & dreary one here, but at least it's not frigid.

Yesterday was good. Went to Bible study, only to find out it was canceled due to the death of a friend of the gal that teaches. At least I wasn't the only one that didn't get the message, so we sat and chatted for a bit before all going our separate ways. I went to WM to pick up a few items, and then stopped at a new place to look at flooring. Don't know if I'll get any this year, but I'm getting someone out to measure & then get some prices.

I puttered around here all day. Got laundry caught up and put away, finally got the maple twist cookies iced & in the freezer. Last night my Mom, SIL, niece, and I went to EHCA to watch their musical. They did a great job. My cousin Karen's daughter was the carpet. They did Aldin Jr (an abbreviated version of the show) and her modeling & baton years helped her in her moving around. It was great!

Today's goal is baking at least 6 doz cupcakes for tomorrow's orders. They are for 2 first communions. The one, the cupcakes are going to be arranged in the shape of a Cross, and then I'll ice them. Once Blaise gets home from school, we'll head down to my brother's place to see my niece & her prom date. We already got a sneak peak at her with her gown on and she looked gorgeous, so I'm anxious to see her with all the bells & whistles.

Bethina...once you get moving, your day will work out. Chin up and smile!

Good Morning.....enough with all the nasty, wet, dreary, cold weather outside...time for spring to come alive.

Got all the cookies baked yesterday 7 containers and 21 dozen cookies for the men going on fishing trip, today will be making the coleslaw and potato salad then I will be done...I will miss the hubby but I am looking forward to some me time, shopping, visiting, etc. and no earplugs at night so I don't hear the snoring, LOL

Beth time to put on the positive hat and get your day started, think of all the good around you and think of others. We all have those days were we just want to go back to bed and cover up the head but soldier on...

I need to get in the freezer and find something that trips my trigger and sounds good for supper, another thing I will get to enjoy, not wondering what I am going to fix for supper everyday...don't get me wrong I love him dearly but having a little time to myself will feel good..

Cookie after baking the cookies I did and keeping up with the dishes used to make them and then cleaning up the kitchen I could not do what you do no way...the older I get the slower I go...

Well ladies and gents time to find something to eat and then get busy in the kitchen again...hope we all get some sunshine soon...have a great day one and all...so happy to be here.

finally Friday! And the 5th...so lots of Mexican yumminess going on. My mind blanked on how to spell that and the computer would not autocorrect for me.
My mother has had a wonderful week in Florida. I told my brother I haven't seen the big smiles here as much as I have seen in his pictures. He gave her his old iphone and now she can receive and send photos to everyone on her list. They went t to the beach yesterday and the wind was so strong her hair was blowing and she didn't even look like herself. She flies home tomorrow and I will be going to the airport in the morning to get her. A stop at our favorite Italian deli and restaurant for cookies on the way back. I am trying to find a recipe to make them and need another example pack...quality control!
Beth, you have had a big week with company and cooking and work. Good for you! Almost done with this week and you can know you did it well.
We aer to have a big drop in temperatures starting today. Nothing bad; it is going from the 90's down into the 70's. So nice! I have had the a/c on the last few days. And have started watering the yard.
Sharon, all the cooking and baking you do for the trip is amazing! Do any other wives add to it?
I need to go open up the daycare and get this day really started. Hope your Friday is good and full of things to smile about!

Took a ride to downtown Alton last night to see the flood since it is only 15 minutes away from us. The city crews are all parked and waiting to close roads as water laps across them. We crossed over the bridge into Missouri and all those little roads are covered. We take those roads to get close and watch the ice flow in the winter and the eagles feed in the spring. We sit on the earth dams to watch the fireworks in July but everything is covered and only the top of the road signs are visible. Andrew loved that...trying to figure out where the roads used to be. He is still not 100% and probably should have missed a day of school but I have really slacked off the homework just because he doesn't feel up to it. Couple more weeks of school left anyway. Yesterday was another day of running. Sierra's car was finally finished so Jon was off work and we ran to switch cars and pay the bill and take her to lunch and then Jon and Sierra went to the bank to have him put on her account and he came home livid. The bank will not allow him to be put on his 20 yr old daughters checking account until they run a credit check on HIM! Probably going to charge Jon for the credit check. She just needs another persons signature and I do not understand why the bank cares? he said he just stood there with his mouth hanging that a bank would do that. She insists are leaving her banking in Staunton and I understand because I left mine there but at another bank. Yep, the old hometown is big enough for two banks! But this week has been rotten with running for and with her and then the rain. 9.5 inches of rain total we have had. Sun is out for now with no rain predicted but furnace is running so must be cold out still. Never climber out of the 40s yesterday and Drew's school picnic in the park has again been cancelled as has baseball. Picnic on for Monday...ball practice when they can walk onto the field but who knows. Jon is working this weekend so hope I can find some peace and quiet and be left alone. Nice to have my car back but have no intention of leaving the place! Guess all I have done the last week is complain about something but I do not like turmoil and aggravation or RAIN! We have sun just not the warm that goes with it..

🌵Today should be a hot one. It was supposed to get in the triple digits, but they now show 99�..... close enough I guess. The triple digits will be here soon enough.

Didn't get out to shop yesterday, so we're doing that today.

Not much else going on here.

Good morning. Our warm has cooled here and it's overcast but no real rain expected. Will warm up again next week.

Made a pot roast in the slower cooker yesterday. It tasted delicious but was stringy again even though it fell apart. The beef that we have been getting is awful. About the only beef I get is ground. I eat mainly pork and chicken and lamb when I can get it.
My favorite grocer had lamb shanks on their special ad but they didn't receive them. I was told they would have them soon.

Nothing else to talk about so will just say Hi to all.

Guess what? the sun is shining here for the first time in over a week. Not a cloud in the sky and will stay that way for a week or so, it says here. We shall see if it is true or not.
