  • Good morning 5/3/17

    Work yesterday was fine...busy busy busy but fine....Volunteering was ok too...

    I came home from running a couple errands with my friend that brings me home from volunteering and took a little nap..then started dinner we had hamburgers baked potatoes salad and cottage cheese. I am not sure what we are having tonight...

    Did a load of my sisters laundry have 3 or 4 more...

    I went to let my friend/neighbors dogs out and that little bitty one doesn't like me one bit and I couldn't get her to go out at all...I had no trouble with the big one..I even had my oldest niece go back with me to try again with the little dog...IT actually tried to bite her...she was not smart and tried to pick her up...

    I will come straight home tonight and rest while the house is quiet..and head over around 4ish to let my friends dogs out again...

    I am sure that I will start supper again tonight but I don't know what...

    My youngest niece wants to go to church with me tonight to see some friends..My parents aren't taking her to her church tonight...

    Try to have a good day...

    Good Morning,

    hi Bethina,,, you are a busy lady.... and such a kind, helpful one..

    yesterday was such a mixture of weather.. wet, sun, cool.40. finally electric power went off... Some where a tree went over the line? or an accident... did not come back on until last dusk... ..missed having my evening coffee..

    David will be itching to get out somewhere today... Monday we went to car wash, and bank and library.. stayed home yesterday . so that means we will have to go somewhere.... I put a lovely roast in the crockpot early this morning ... so no eating out!. maybe I can get him to wait until tomorrow to GO ..

    Hi to you all.. see you later

    Take it one Day , one step, at a time.. cause that's all we really have.

      Maye I am looking forward to a week of doing what I want with the hubby on his fishing trip, I want a day of total ME, staying in my MooMoo, and just relaxing...

    Good Morning Beth and to all that pass this way today. Those little dogs can be nippy...glad you had a good but busy day.

    Yesterday was busy for me also, unpacking and other things, but hubby did the shopping for me it is so windy and cold outside..plus had decided when I got back from Hawaii that Rufus my kitty that already had so many problems with bladder stones needed another visit to the vet as he is getting pretty unhappy when someone touches his back, also has bare spots on each side of his spine close to his hips, I was suspecting arthritis and that is the call from them also...I won't be going through the laser treatments at $90 a week but will give him pain meds and Dasquin Advanced for joints. Will not let him suffer, but try and help until I feel his quality of life is not good...hard decision but one we pet owners have to do...they gave him something to relax him enough for a test but was not enough and he was vicious, BUT it has made him a space cadet, one that is acting all weird/wired and he can not sleep or just lay down, will not let them give him that again...he is still pacing this morning...hubby says after this time to change vets for sure...another $161.00 spent...laser therapy, brief exam, something similar to morphine, and two meds to bring home...can't keep this up for sure..

    Miffed at my sister in law again, hubby just doesn't see it but she is trying to act like she is in control of everyone and everything....last year I had a suggestion for a zero balance chairs, I have one and mother in law really liked it, well we were having a group discussion on what to get her for Mother's Day but instead of keeping the group discussion going she sent hubby a private message with a picture of a swing she wanted to buy their Mom, fine by me, but why go all private, hubby said it was because he did not have facebook messenger on his phone, LOL...yeah right, I don't care, but it was rude and uncalled for...their Mother their choice, it was just a suggestion....WELL now usually the hubby is on his fishing trip for Mother's Day but this year he will not be, so yesterday she messages me to invite me to come to their Mother's house (but doing it on Sat. since said sister in law works on Sunday) since hubby will be gone, I said no he will be getting back that day so I am staying home, but ask her what the plan was for a gift this year. Her response," I don't think I would buy that chair you spoke of last year, I don't know when Mom would use it"....my response, "had not even thought about that chair just wondered if it was a together gift or separate"...read the messages to hubby and he said, "well you must have mentioned the chair again"....you see, he just doesn't get it!!! I AM DONE WITH HER TOTALLY!!!! Still stewing over that one and you realize even after 35 yrs. you still aren't family....it just added to the Grandpa's birthday remark last month, we have a get together, and she says, "leave it to Sharon to be all organized" and started moving things around, LOL

    Well off to get a bite to eat then start the baking sessions...

    Have a great day one and all....

    Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God

      Good Morning! It's another dreary, wet, & cold one out there today, but at least it's not windy.

      Yesterday I just didn't have a lot of energy, but I plugged along slowly but surely. Got 5 kinds of cookie dough mixed up and got 3 of them baked off. The other two had to be chilled overnight. Aunt J stopped over. She had called to see if I had an over abundance of some cookies that I'd like to get rid of. She's donating cookies to her church's bake sale this weekend. Well I cleared out a bunch of cookies that had there for a few months. That's why I made fresh batches of a couple of the cookies I made yesterday. I also made the first of 4 kinds of cookies for a wedding I'm baking for...the maple twists. Now they need iced & dipped in more nuts. If you don't like nuts, they aren't the cookie for you. During the evening I made a lemon meringue pie for the doctor's office. I did manage to pick up a couple of rooms & get them swept. The big maple tree right outside out door has been dumping a ton of tiny "helicopters" and they've been getting tracked in, so I got the porch swept off so my freshly swept front room wouldn't have a ton of the tracked in every time we came through the door.

      7 years ago today I was by Kathy's side waiting for our lil Blaise to be born. We swore the doctor held off the hard labor until after office ours. Kathy had been induced at 6am and Blaise wasn't born until 5:30pm. He initiated me by peeing on me right away, the lil booger! He was so proud today. Later on I'm taking a big box of donuts for his class for his birthday treat. Kathy & Mike are supposedly coming up for supper tonight, though we didn't tell Blaise. If she doesn't show, there won't be tears.

      Today is another kitchen day, though I'll be taking a break & delivering the pie. I'll stop at Aldi's and pick up a few items. Think I'll bake some choc cupcakes for this evening. He's requested Orange Chicken for dinner though he doesn't like the glaze on his chicken. I'm hoping some of his guy friends will be able to come on Saturday for a BD play date.

      Have a good one all!

      Donna, the birthday memories and plans sound wonderful! some events are just etched on our hearts no matter what! Tell Blaise a big California Happy birthday from me!
      We slept with ceiling fans on and windows open in my room. The rest of the house was closed up and when I got up this morning it was 78* in the house. Opening the windows and sliding glass door made it go down to 76 right away. Not sure what it is now, buyt feels and sounds (quiet except for doves) so nice. The garbage truck has not got to our street yet, so no yucky noises from them.
      My storage unit has done nothing but raise prices and I am making plans to get anything of value out and get rid of the rest. I will donate most of what I don't need. I have a bassinet and some childcare things over there but babies aren't in bassinets that long and the ones I seem to get are all getting too big at 3-4 months old for it anyway. I am slowly, but surely, making room in my metal shed here. The whole reason we got the big unit was when Becky moved home she had a lot of furniture and household items so it seemed a good thing to do at a time when things were changing fast. And open sheds (the doors that pull to the center) are a place where rats like to hide...my pest control guy told me that. However, I am getting some strong tubs and my friend's things I have been storingfor her for 5 years are going inside here as much as I can and the rest in the outside shed. (do I sound like I have been talking myself into this for awhile?)
      I need to get moving. Maye, you have got me in the habit of Swiffering my floors instead of sweeping like Iused to. so much better.
      Also, if you see a news segment with a fight on a flight from Tokyo to LA, the grandma and young mother (with a crying baby you hear) are friends of ours. The young mom was interviewed by CBS and then when the family was taking a walk yesterday NBC caught up with them! Just seeing the video her husband posted (he and my son Spencer have been friends since pre-school) made me tear up. the grandmother is being so protective and even bends over the mom and baby when the guy who is fighting is by them...
      Well, take care of yourselves and those around you.
      Hugs to you all!

      Good morning, all. Shocking when you all mentioned how cold it is. Not gloating but it was 82º here yesterday. Expected to be about the some today.
      Funny thing. When I wrote today it reminded me. I have been reading Thomas Payne books. In those books he writes to-day and to-night. Then I remembered our third grade teacher telling us that some people were still writing it that way.
      Any grammar nuts my age have seen how much the language has changer during out lifetime.

      Speaking of dogs. My Lily is almost bling due to her cataracts. She is still healthy otherwise, eats well, begs for her walks even though she doesn't always hurry along like she used to. Can still jump up onto the couch even though she is ruining my slip cover with her claws.

      Boffler, My dog Sam had leukemia. The vet gave him meds to keep him comfortable But one day I was giving him his favorite chin rub and felt small lumps and he was pacing and pacing so off to the vet again. That's when I was told it was time to let him go.
      I still miss him even though he has been gone almost 10 years. He was a good old dog.

      Seems like it has taken me a long time to write this with hopping up to do things so will close and get on with doing things.
      Be well everybody. I hope things warm up a bit for you all but not too much. We are expecting it to be 90º by Fri. and then cool off for a few days due to a little rain on Sat.

          Good morning. Another 2 to 4 inches of rain predicted for the next two days. Tried to get a baseball score this morning and all there is on the news is flooding. I mean I do not know if the Blues won, which I doubt because they were down 2 when I fell asleep in the 3rd, or if the Cardinals won. All area news is focused on the floods. My sister called yesterday and today is her babysitting day in St. Louis with her grands and they are talking of shutting down the interstate! Jon crossed over to Missouri for gas last evening and half the road is closed to only one lane. The list of school closings looks like after a winter snow. I do not understand why people live in these flood plains and go through this massive flooding and destroying of their homes every few years. AND why we keep paying them tax dollars to rebuild. School districts are suing the state for money owed to educate our children and we keep paying people to rebuild in flood plains. But then you all know how I can go on and on and on. Andrew has strep again. He and Jon met his mom at the clinic and it was full of kids with strep...again. Poor baby has had it 3 times this school year and a woman Jon works with came in and said it was their 6th visit this school year. After school he refused to read but drug out another book and ask me to read to him so I know he did not feel well. Sierra still has my car so I am like stranded back here. Remember when that meant you stayed home and did not do any shopping? Not in today's world! I am trying to keep the credit cards clean with vacation coming up so soon but boredom just gets the best of me I think! We have 4 little naked pink bluebirds! When we came out on the patio the mom left the nest and then both she and the papa keep flying close and acting weird. Jon put his phone next to it and peeked in. They sure don't like us on the patio but, knowing my son, mama bird will lose that battle! Guess I'll go look for some scores and see if anything other than flooding is on the news. Sharon Andrew was asking about mother's day and wants to shop for his. When I suggested we pick out a bouquet of flowers and candy he was so happy. They always make cards in school so his mom will be taken care of. It is so important to a little kid...let your sil handle it. She obviously wants to be in charge and go through the stress and hassle. Cookie I have been trying to work up the energy to make a silly little jello cake and can find a million excuses. I need a shot in the arm of energy but it going to come with more of this darn rain...cold and rainy here and I just want hot and sunny!!

            Good morning.
            ~Beth, sounds like a good but busy day. That's great!
            ~Maye, last evening the winds were gusting big time. It interfered with watching our TV programs. Not just the pixels going wild, but constant sound interruptions as well. Fortunately there was no damage to the electrical wires.
            ~Boffler, you're feeling much the way my SIL (E"s "evil twin") wants me to feel. Mostly I just ignore her, but in the beginning I was affected by her attitude. We haven't talked or visited in years. She didn't even show up for their older brother's funeral/memorial service this past January. She gave an very obscure excuse. Truth is, she's stuck in the same room inside a church and it's auditorium. At a previous family gathering she would walk out of any room we were in. We still have no idea what's going on with her. I just go with the family flow and figure that one day it'll all come back upon herself.
            ~Cookie, a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Blaise! I hope his day goes well. He's quite the little guy.
            If your energy is still down today, try to not overdo. You'll need your energy on the weekend if Blaise has his play date.

            Yesterday the weather got up to 92°, and will be a bit warmer than that today. 🌵 By Friday it promises to hit 100°.
            Officially, I don't think summer comes around til June. But springtime looks to be sizzling for us.
            Before the heat set in yesterday I was outside early enough to put new flowers in my pots. E really liked the arrangements. I posted a picture in H&G. Since I can't convince real flowers to grow in the sorry excuse we have for soil, I go with the fake ones. It took me all of just 30 minutes to do all 3 pots.

            Today I should do some dusting, sweeping, and picking up around here.

            It's a good day to have a good day! ☀️
            ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
              Good Morning.
              Cloudy, overcast here. More tornadoes expected, but south east of us. Nothing happening worth mentioning. I need to start washing all of my curtains but still haven't made a move. It's the climbing up and down that has been putting me off.
              Hope everyone has a good day. I like what beth said, "TRY" to have a good day. Ha Ha.
