quiet day yesterday.. more sorting of music.. found out the church has a paper collection container. and they get paid for collecting recycle paper. hooray. thats where my discarded music is going.. plus its amazing how much paper comes into a house every week too..

Good Morning, a damp, dreary one here this morning, but they say we will have some sunshine today, sure hope so..

I woke up at 5:00 a.m. and could not go back to sleep so after laying there for 1/2 hr. I got up and got busy finished cleaning out the fridge, got the envelope with money ready for the cat sitters, unloaded dishwasher, cleaned out the microwave and fridge, cleaned the top of the stove, wiped down the stainless steel appliances, cleaned out my purse of any liquids, had some leftover mashed potatoes so I mixed them up added some shredded potatoes and will fry them up when hubby gets out of bed...he said he was making BLT's for breakfast since we have bacon, lettuce, tomato to use up, potato patties will go good with that..house is clean, I have a load of towels in the dryer to fold, will make the bed after hubby gets up. After all the morning stuff is done I will get my shower, finish off my packing and we will hit the road toward MI and tomorrow morning have to be up really early to catch our ride to airport...then off to the wild blue yonder..

So that is my day plan, will take our son and his SO out for dinner today before they drop us off and take our car home with them...If and when I get a chance while gone I will check in...you all take care and try and behave yourselves...I don't return until Good Friday late in the afternoon/evening.

Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God

      Good morning everyone.

I have my packing to do as well. I will be heading for F.W. early tomorrow morning. My sister-in-law has a few things she needs done. My brother never taught his kids how to do anything. So I feel like I need to do things for her since he is not around to do for her anymore. My brother's thing was antiques, and he could buy a piece of "junk", and put it together or repair old furniture, making it look like the original piece. He would buy old pieces of walnut or maple wood to have to repair antique furniture. Me nor his kids like antiques, but that was his "hobby". I did show my sister-in-law how to get on e-bay to look what things were selling for. She has been able to sell a few things at the antique shop. He collected old coffee grinders and Daisy butter churns. She has sold some of the larger coffee grinders, but don't believe she is interested in selling the butter churns. Not yet anyway.

As to the old furniture that he hadn't repaired, I have no idea what she will do with them. It would be nice if she could find another antique dealer who refinished and repaired furniture.

Well enough of that...I will just bid you all a good day.

He who angers you, controls you!
Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured.

        Good Morning!

        HaHa, sassy, April Fool.

Sharon, have a wonderful time! Will look for some pics on your FB page.

Janet, I don't have problems with John and the cat waking me if I keep my door shut, which I do most of the time. LOL

Jostoy, I feel for you. We have a LOT of stuff around here we could do without.

Well, I'm off to a bridal shower at 10a, of all things. Family or I would bow out.

Have a good day, my Friends.

Good Morning! Another dreary one here, but that's not stopping me.

Yesterday I spent most of my day in the kitchen. Made that new lemon bar recipe, but I wasn't impressed. Tasted OK, but didn't look pretty. The first two pumpkin rolls I made came out dense and terrible. What did I do wrong? Well I had to run to Saxonburg for the giant pasta shells and it hit me....I forgot the baking pwd....duh! So I came home and made a couple more and they turned out very nice. Then it was onto making the chicken stuffed shells. Cleaned up and then made 4 doz cupcakes for an order. Just got them out of the oven & Cork came home. He was suppose to work overtime, but the big boss called & said no overtime, so he got sent home. We went to a local Estate Sale. I found him a watch for $1 and a couple other little things. The lady checking me out use to bake and one Thanksgiving had orders for 98 pies...yes...NINETY EIGHT!!!! She makes me look like a slacker. The most I ever made in one day was 32, and I was exhausted after that.

Becca got here a little after 5pm and so did my Mom. We had a nice dinner & dessert, but they both were out of here by 7pm. Becca had to be up this morning at 5:30am and wanted to get home & to bed. Mom didn't want to drive in the rain & dark. I was ready to just sit down.

Not sure what today will bring. Need to put the finishing touches on the cupcakes. Not 100% happy with them. The BB cookies turned out better than the cupcakes. I've already stripped & remade the bed, so I guess I'll be doing so laundry today. Time to get my shower & get this day going.

Have a wonderful time Sharon...you will be missed. Too bad you couldn't get a hold of Nalani while you were there. I worry about her. It's been a long time since she's checked in.

        Have a good one all!

          Good morning.
My cold isn't quite gone yet, so I'm still coughing but not as often. Discovered a cold sore at the edge of my mouth today.
The temp will remain in the 60's today, the sky is still overcast. But tomorrow we'll be in the 70's again.

Yesterday I made meatloaf patties and a cheesy colcannon for dinner. Yummy! E thought both were outstanding.
I just wanted some "comfort food". And it certainly was.

No particular plans for today. I hope to get a few things done here, but won't count on it. I'm feeling kinda tired and washed out.

I've been wondering about Nalani, too. I miss her posts.

Got the COSTCO Connection magazine yesterday. Some time back, I'd recommended Tony Hillermans books (murder mystery) for their authenticity in the lives and traditions of Native Americans, having been raised with them. (His parents were missionaries.). I think he has since passed away. But I was surprised to see an article by his wife Anne. She gave a recipe for Tuuvi Tacos.....tacos on fry bread. And she talks about the book characters as if they were real live people. Well, I guess they'd have to be patterned after real people. And there is a real restaurant the characters went to, which was an authentic cafe run by the Hopi people. The Tuuvi Cafe has recently closed. Darn! I would have wanted to visit it had I known that.

Guess I'll make a cup of comforting mocha to drink, and read a bit.

          Have a good day, everyone.☀️

I'd forgotten today is April Fool's day. Thanks for the heads up. It's a good day to tell my kids I'm PG!

My mom has all his books!
And a friend here makes Navajo Tacos using Indian fry bread at the church yard sales. I always show up for those!

What is that blinding light coming in the window? It must be the sun! Guess all the rain and gloom has moved on to the eat and the rest of you are suffering with it. Think today will go out and visit the nursery...need mulch and a couple of plants. The gazing ball Sierra bought me several years ago with her first paycheck is so faded but I won't replace it. I would like to get a big umbrella or something to put over the patio as sun protection this summer but those things are expensive. There is no shade in the back and I cannot just sit out there while they are in the pool. Sharon have a wonderful trip. You sound like me...will not leave the house for vacation or even a weekend away unless it is spotless. If I have to come home to a mess it is not worth leaving. I probably leave the house cleaner than we actually live in while here! Son is in cooking breakfast and it stinks...turkeys were not meant to be bacon. Sad thing is the only thing that is still in top notch working condition on my entire body is my nose...thought sense of smell was the first to go? Looks like mother nature took everything and left me with stink! Sharon, again have a wonderful trip and the rest of you have a happy Saturday. Bet Beth was cold in the outdoors last night!!

NIce start to April here. No early morning appointment, and the sun is out. The wind is here for the weekend, but since it has dried out all the puddles and wet grass area I am ok with it.
I am looking forward to Sharon's pictures, too...sun, sand and water are always my favorite views.
I will not be using this font again! too much space.
Maye, I go to bed at 9:00 and get up around 5:30, so I would be one of the noise makers at your house...
Not a lot to report. Besides the regular grocery shopping I am making up little gift bags for Rylie (15), Owen (10) and Derek (3 1/2) who I will see Monday evening.
Have a good day! Stay healthy and happy!

Paula, I wish I still had my book collection, but I donated more than 100 books to the Cancer Center's reading areas. Many may have been taken to the main hospital as well, for the patients to read/borrow/take. But the Hillerman books were outstanding!
And I LOVE the fry bread!!!

Another good writer is Lisa See, if you like Chinese history. I liked the earlier books best, as they were real history passed down from her grandmother. Eventually her characters immigrated to American culture...still pretty good reading, but I liked the historical ones best. She has a new book out at Costco right now, which I'd like a peek at before getting it. Otherwise I have her entire set minus one my DD borrowed.
