Good Morning, another brisk morning, but I do see the sun trying to peak out...Love your graphic...

Well I did manage to get my grocery shopping done, sheets washed and bed made, and cooked dinner...baked chicken, dressing, noodles and green beans...mighty tasty. Was feeling a bit dizzy yesterday, and this morning also but I think it is more the Meinere's than anything else because I am still having problems with my 'nose', always congested and look like Rudolph from blowing so much, and it scabs over all the time..

Don't know what the day will hold but seriously thinking about making some cookies haven't made any since Christmas, don't need them for sure, but want them. Might even do a little laundry and dusting also...I have a kitty that is driving me crazy this morning wanting outside, but his kitty walk is put away for the winter, and I think Rufus is getting stones again, as sad as it is I don't think I will pay for another surgery for him, its only been two months since the last one, and if it is going to keep happening even after buying all of this prescription food, then I think I will have to make a decision and it really saddens me to even think about it...

Time to go and read the news and get this day started, hope everyone is feeling as fit as a fiddle today...I have no complaints, I woke up, I'm moving, no pain, life is good and I see the sun coming out...Have a great day one and all.

Good morning. everyone seems to be sleeping in this morning. I have been fighting with a bill from the insurance company since November and today am going in to face to face handle it. They did a review of my car insurance, changed some things, sent me a refund and have been sending bills ever since. It is never for the same amount so I do not know where they are getting these numbers and since there are no explanations I doubt they know either. Yesterday a wind system blew through and it was really blowing for a while! Back to normal this week with everyone going to school and me getting a schedule back. Of course that means cooking meals. Ick! Gotta finish my reading and get moving...think I will stop by Bath and Body and pick up the new scent Sierra and I sprayed on ourselves last week. It just smelled better and better after we left the store and I think I am due for a treat. The birds are singing so I am assuming it is a warmer morning. Scott says southern missouri has trees budding and the first spring flowers peeking up. You should hear these birds!!

What is the scent? I haven't been to Bath and Bidy for awhile. Not a store I get in and out of without a bunch of stuff!

Good Morning! We got a light layer of snow last night & it's coming down very slow this morning. Cold again. The wind was whipping so hard last night that it tipped over our full garbage can out for pick up.

Yesterday after church & SS I came home to snuggle with Blaise & fell asleep for 2 hrs. Once I ate & got my head cleared, I did do up the laundry. Dropped Blaise off at church for Kidz Club and I went to play cards at my SIL's with her & my cousin Karen. Called Becca when I got home to catch up on news for the week. All is good in her world.

This morning I'm heading into town to grocery shop, but before I do that, I'm dropping off cookies at a customer's house I pass on the way and after I'm done shopping, I'm dropping off cookies to another customer who has been very ill for the last 3 months. She didn't order any, but she use to be a great baker & since good ole Arthur has come to stay, she can't. I want her to try my ladylocks because we talked about them before Christmas. Need to cook dinner since we are just about out of leftovers. Need to get pie crusts ready and maybe even bake the two pies I have orders for tomorrow. I'd do them tomorrow morning, but I've got a doctor's appt pretty early and then plans right after that.

      Have a good one all!

        Good morning....
I was awake over an hour ago, and made myself toast and coffee today. Getting things together for a shower. My medical appointment isn't til this afternoon. It's an hours drive each way. Because the lab is always behind, and this doctor is never on time, the entire afternoon is going to be shot.

Yesterday the rain never did make an appearance, except for deep thunder at 4:30-5pm. But today will be much cooler in the low or mid-60's. Picking an outfit for today will be a challenge. The clinic will be cold. I need something warmer to wear, but something that provides easy access to my port. I've got summer-wear to fit the bill. The muumuus are nix. I have a large tee-shirt that will work, if I have a long-sleeved shirt to wear over it. I notice that I'm "missing" 2 pair of comfy pants. (They never came back in our laundry basket.). But maybe I'll just replace them one of these days.

Yesterday I found a turkey breast in the deep freezer. So it got slow-cooked in my electric skillet in chicken broth. Turned out really good. Had one last can of cranberry sauce in the cupboard, so I heated peas & carrots and made cheesy mashed potatoes. E loved it. The turkey was tender enough to cut with a fork. So probably I'll shred it tomorrow and put BBQ sauce on it for hot sandwiches.

Tonight we will open our package of cookies, and enjoy some treats when we watch TV. Yum! You KNOW it's taking a whole lot of will-power to deny those treats all weekend!!!!!

Well, I'd better get my shower stuff together and peruse my closet a bit more.

Sharon, be very careful with that dizziness. We don't want you falling down.
Sorry your cat's sick again. I'm sure he's miserable with it, too. We do what we have to do. ☹️

Maxie, what's the magic scent you're buying?
Right now mine is Desert Queen (from the night-blooming cactus). It's a light floral, and the most non-offensive one near people who are aggrevated by or allergic to scents.

Cookie, that's sweet of you to bake for the lady afflicted by Arthur. She will love it!

        To all, have a super-duper day! ☀️

Good morning! Instead of an early child I have some later arrivals and I was able to do a bit more this morning.
The flooding from the Oroville dam was our live tv last night as we watched people evacuating and posts on Facebook from friends who were impacted and leaving. One said she and her kids and parents were evacuating as her husband remained because he is an EMT. First time I really thought about those who have to stay behind when everyone else is ordered to leave.
Gas stations were running out of gas. Something we always try to do: full tank of gas and enough cash to get through a few days...and always keep a case of water bottles in the car. Just in case...
Donna and Maye, I was reading a food blog ( Mindy bakes) and she talked about the Pittsburgh cookie table at receptions and big events. Like the Bride's family would be in charge of a table with homemade cookies in addition to wedding cake. Have you heard of this?
Another day of sunshine hefe and upper 60's.
That is enough to make my day! Sunshine on my shoulder makes me happy, as John Denver sang.
Hope you all are happy today.
Sharon, hugs to you and your sweet kitty.
Jo, I know you and E will enjoy those cookies.
Bless you all! I love this community!

Yes, a cookie table is quite common around these parts. I didn't have one & back 30 yrs ago I think it was an Italian thing, but many others do it now. I don't think any of my cousins had a cookie table, but we were all married btw 25-35 yrs ago.

I haven't seen a cookie table at any wedding I've been to. I would have loved that.
Does one person make all the cookies, or do several people make them? Is it all one kind of cookie, or a mixture of types of cookies.

I have done wedding cakes for most of my kids (unless otherwise requested, the cakes were citrus-almond. Try mixing some almond filling in the frosting between layers! That one got raves!!).
I did a tall wedding cake for a granddaughter plus the grooms cake --- her sister opted to purchase pies and cheesecakes that my son created different sized pedestals to display them on at her own wedding.
Nobody mentioned cookie tables back then.

Now a groom & his Mom bought their cookies from me that they were assigned to donate for the table (10 doz for each of them), so I guess it's not always the bride's family that does all the baking. I think it's usually the mother, aunts, and close family friends that does the baking. It's a whole variety of cookies. Usually small ones. That's where I got my oreo truffle recipe after tasting one at my cousin's daughter's wedding.

People typically take a variety and bring them back to the table to share. Some families provide small boxes for people to take home some cookies towards the end.

Well I am home from my running...was pretty successful. Insurance bill was finally explained to my satisfaction and the gal showed me where I was on the top of her 'keep on top of list'. Since I was a walk-in this morning I will assume she has been watching out for me. She said she would call to fix something and they would change something else which kept generating the different bills. I have a sheet with all the bills and corrections so should be fine until the next month! Ran into the grocery store for supper sides tonight and tomorrows meal. Tonight Turkey on the grill with corn on the cob (it has been yummy where ever/whatever country it is being imported from), baked potatoes and salad. I have done my turkey breast in the crock pot for a long time JoGee and they are the tenderest things...have my sister doing it know. Tomorrow is stew...my family loves stew and hot bread. Another crock pot meal from my infamous kitchen! Stopped and made a appointment for an eye exam Wednesday and then Bath and Body. Boy do I smell good ladies!! It is Tutti Dulce Pink Peony. I, too, leave that place with more stuff than I can use...what did we do before Bath and Body? Must have smelled like the dark ages!! But I do feel I deserve a treat once in a while. Last fall Sierra talked me into a car smelly and I kept getting whiffs of funeral flowers. I wondered if it was a premonition or something! so that had to go. Right now the only scent I get is stale fast food. At least that just makes me hungry and not depressed! Only chore left for the day is to call the banker and get some money to pay for the car insurance and hopefully my new glasses. I will be broke but man will I smell good!

Thanks, Cookie, for that info on the cookie table. Maybe an upcoming granddaughter will be getting married in the near future? Then I will suggest and donate to a cookie table.

Maxie, I need to see if there's a Bath and Body shop in town here. Our stepdaughter loves shopping there, as does her daughter.
Later: I checked, and there is a B&B store in a mall in our area! If store prices are the same as online, it's bargain priced! What great gifts this will be to my girls, their girls, and friends. Plus, they have a lot of travel-sized products which is great for trying out when one feels like it.
(I know the stores have testers, which the customers are constantly trying out, when makes it difficult to accurately judge the scents in the store. I was with SD at her store in Albuquerque one Christmas, the worst time of year to be in a heavily scented store, and I was very glad that her shopping took only about 15 minutes!) 😄

Just a quick hello from me to you....Have to go for my finger prick this morning and also stop by The Granary to tell them of a couple of scratches on the mirror in my curio cabinet...didn't see them when I bought it and the glass was to frosted over from the cold when they delivered it, I have no doubt they will do what they can to make it right, that is why I like buying my furniture there...Also need to stop and get my hubby a card and a little something for Valentine's Day. We are going out to lunch and then a movie for our special day...Have a great day one and all...hope to make it back here later...
