That kitty picture is so fit to my coriander. She too had me up way to early!

There was more craziness next door. When I came home yesterday my ride drove past the house. I thought good there is not anyone there...well we slow down to stop in front of my house the front door of the house next door opens. I came and got hold of the people I was suppsed to call if I saw anything...come to find out the trouble maker got out of jail Thursday. So it must have been him in the house. I don't know. I know that I decided to get my mail before it got dark...and went to go out my front door and there was big police suv parked in front of my house. When I went out for the mail I noticed an officer with a board. I am hoping they finally boarded up the house.

Mom didn't come last night. My sister will pick her up on the way. Daddy will be back here sometime Sunday and stay for the week.

Yesterday was the day that my vacation time and sick time took effect at work. It means I have been with them for 6 months. I am planning some type of get away at the first of March. I have not completely decided what I am doing I just know I am getting out of town for 3 days.

Work...Chiropractor...then home to read my book are the plans for today.

Good morning , see if I can post without messing up the entire thread this morning
Its been a very long year since Davids surgery... and my shingles.... so sometimes the brain malfunctions. ( well, I have to blame it on something don't I?)

SassyG. the cat is so adorable..

hopefully will get the day to spend AT HOME... will even cook a nice dinner for David if I get to stay in.... Yesterday was Dr day for him... Lab work for me ,again, and it seemed to take 90% of the day.. so .... will clean a little.. cook a lot.. make out the Tax papers... call the insurance co... and pray DAvids Sister is improved this morning ..

his Sister, Bonny , has been in hospital since Monday.. pneumonia.... she is also in congestive heart failure and has extreme respiratory problems. ..yesterday she was still on a ventilator.
Got no phone call from her daughter. so praying that is a good sign.. she lives approx 2 hrs away.

    better get moving

    Good morning, all.
Had my hair done yesterday. It feels good. The hairdresser also had a girl practice doing a paraffin wrap on my hands.
All I did was ask about a cuticle cream. She looked at my hands and asked how about a nice moisturizing wrap? I never really answered, but she got the stuff out and the girl-in-training sat down and did my hands while my hairdresser did my hair.

Sassy, what cute kitties! I love 'em!

So not much new here. Hope to get out a bit today.
The weather should be very nice.

Hope your day goes very well. ☀️️

Good Morning to all....welcome to my new norm, my mornings are not mine anymore, I like quiet, he likes noise, no place to get away from it...hard to concentrate at times...he talks to himself out loud, I am constantly saying, "what" and he says nothing just talking to myself...LOL

Since having this 'allergy' thing going on my nose is sore, red and crusty inside and out, also underneath my eye that was itching, nasty and red I now have very dry crusty skin, I need to find something for my nose and under my eye to soften the crusties and let them heal...every time I blow my nose it hurts like crazy. I did a lot of sleeping yesterday, put pinto beans and ham bone on to cook and it did all day, made some cornbread to go with it...that was supper...have no clue what is on the agenda today...maybe sweet/sour chicken over rice...

Maye, not to worry about the mess up, we are all guilty of messing up things, it happens...we love and forgive you, just glad someone post...I don't go looking for reasons to be upset...

Have a great day one and all, I need to find some breakfast and get dressed for the day, in something warm as it is COLD here only 20 degrees, chill factory colder...

      Good morning everyone.

Have to look for my Will, so started last night while watching TV. Started in the 2 boxes of papers. No Will, but did take out a lot of paper-work that has to be shredded. Still have my small safe to go through.

Also called about changing investment firms yesterday. Hopefully, they will be more co-operative than Raymond James.

As you can tell, not doing a lot heavy work around here. A lot of sitting which is not good on the back. May have to start walking again until it's time to start gardening.

      Everyone have a great day.
Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured.

Jo I am so shocked and surprised that you could not find that will, that is so not like your organized self!! But we all have our moments, LOL I hope you find a more 'co' operative investment firm...and do be careful if you are out and about walking...

Interesting, jostoy, I am trying to decide about changing my will, too. At least for now while my daughter is still in school, I want to make sure she has the funds to finish.
Rain and thunder last night and rain and wind today.
And, our weatherman said CA does not have groundhogs! That might mean I have to rely on your PA guy with the big name I can't spell to forecast the seasons. No!
I am just focusing on the violets and the oxalis coming up around the yard...Hope Springs eternal and all that.
I am 95% ready for my tax appointment. Just typing up all the final figures in their categories...and it is supposed to be sunny tomorrow and Sunday so the drive to Redding should be easy...
I better get gong. Dog paw prints to clean up and one little girl is here. Her new time is 7:05 and keeps me moving!
      Enjoy your Friday!

We need to update our wills, too. When E ordered his TurboTax, he found that they have Will Maker as well. So one day we will have to sit down and do that. That should be short and sweet.

Sharon, it's the same here. E likes noise, I like quiet. He's always talking...to himself, to his computer, to the TV, to his Magazines.... or else plays music.

Paula, when I first moved to the Texas Panhandle, the weather never matched the predictions of the PA groundhog. So they introduced Sammy Snake to do that job. But snakes aren't furry and cute, so I don't think Sammy lasted long....guess he shed the job when he shed his skin. But the West could use its own groundhog. MI had snow Jan 31 & Feb 2 so I'm told. Our temps reached the 70's in the afternoon, and next week this time it'll reach the 80's. So if that's winter, I don't even want to think of how sizzling the summer here will be.

JoG, is all of Arizona warm all winter like where you are? I realize the mountain area is cooler, but was wondering about all the lower elevations.

No, we actually had below freezing temperatures three days in a row last month. Nights can run in the 30's during our "winters". Afternoon might get to the 40's and 50's then. Normally February is our "coldest" month. But our winters are generally 2 to 2-1/2 months.

Last year, were I not in cancer surgery and treatments, I could have started my veggie garden in early March. Next week when we get to temps of 80's, nights will be in the 50's and I could probably put seeds out. Unfortunately, I am giving up gardening because I haven't been up to doing much of anything.
Normally I'd have covered my garden for the winter with gardening tarp. I'd have picked my early tomatos by summer, but the harvest I'd pick in February under the tarp would be 3-4 times the spring crop.
As for flowers, I don't have the talent for that...never did. Heck, even my paper and plastic flowers wilt on me.
Also my native trees died in a freeze a few years ago, and the replacement trees aren't large enough yet for shade.

Snowbirds stay here for about 3-4 months over winter months. They find it tolerably warm here. Many are recognized by their shorts and slacks with pressed creases, the older couples dressing identically.
The regular residents and us older folk, are most likely to wear somewhat warmer outfits. First, we are here through sizzling seasons of 115°+. Or those like me with health problems, and I think surely my red count is low and must be anemic again, wear fleece sweatshirts, sweaters, and such, who can't get comfortably warm. Two weeks til I see that doc!

Anyway, we are convinced that our winter is about gone, and spring is imminently here.

Thanks, JoG. When we have zero temps, in a "normal" winter, your winter temps sound really good.

Hey hubby and I could spend some time in FL next year, at least know two people who love in Panama City, Pat and one of my neighbors from our old neighborhood...my oldest sons age...and I have a cousin that lives in Grand Island, FL, so would have a few place I might like..Also know a few people in Arizona, JoG and another neighbor from the old neighborhood in Tempe, AZ. Until they get ice or even snow. They don't know how to drive. I'm with you though about "going south" for the winters.

      • #11
So, I guess we migrate to the southern states for warmth. 😄
