  • Happy Groundhog Day - Feb 2

    Good morning.
The weather is already looking like springtime here, the afternoon reaching into the 70's. But we were really surprised to see that next Thursday will be the start of some 80° weather. This is pretty early for higher temps.
Today I have a haircut appointment. It's overdue. I'll be glad to have it done with. My hairdresser is actually a nice person, even generous, but she's a motormouth. She talks incessantly...that's what I'm not quite up for today. Oh well.
E has the neighbor boy hired today to lean up the last fall of leaves and debris. The young man does excellent work. I think he's looking for a career in landscaping.
And that's as far as today's agenda goes.

Hope you all have a great day. ☀️

Good Morning! It's spitting little snowballs right now.

Yesterday was good. I spent the first part of the morning straightening up and doing some laundry. A girl that was a friend in HS came for lunch and a nice long chat. After she left I started icing 6 1/2 doz groundhogs for today's order. They turned out really cute once I figured out how I was going to do them. Took Blaise to BB practice after supper. He's not a really focused player like most of them who are serious and can make baskets. Oh well. He's having fun. Kathy showed up around midnight and did some laundry. We chatted a few minutes before I headed to bed.

The next few days are going to be busy just like Christmas mixing & baking cookies. I got a nice sized order the other day and they want it by Monday morning...we'll see. Will try my best. I've got to take a half an hour later this morning after my Aunt P comes for her cookies, and get the pie into the doctor's office.

Speaking of the doctor. Last Friday he changed my insulin brand again. If you are a type one and your pancreas has any life left in it, this insulin will do something to stimulate it. Hey, worth a try. Well I think it's working!!!! I haven't had to take any R Insulin in a few days, which is great!!! I hate to think what this new type costs. I just got the other type of insulin refilled earlier in the week.

      Have a good one all!

SassyG.. what a cutie pie picture... My cat likes to crawl into the tub too.. but only when I am in there doing my "other business".

getting a lot of reading done..have the hardest puzzle and can only work on it for a short while . but I will get it done!

        Elaine how is John?
Sharon, feeling ok ? I sure hope so.
Will be back to check on all of you later today... gotta go.. David is walking the floor ... giving me weather reports..

        Goodbye January, Hello February.
        Good morning to all.
My stomach is still bothering me today. But other symptoms are gone.
It better be gone tomorrow, as I have a haircut appointment.
I'll spend another day resting. The cramps are no fun.

Donna, did you get my email yesterday?

To all, have a great day. ☀️

Yes, and mixing up both doughs today. I DID have the GingerSnap cookies made, but they are a favorite around here & are almost all gone that I baked last week.

Good morning to all and Welcome February! We usually start to see almond blossoms this month...I have yellow flowers ( oxalis) coming up around my side yard.
We have more rain forecast starting this evening.
The chihuahua we have been fostering goes to her adoption family tomorrow. Becky will take her to the vet for her spay and they will pick her up. I would have gladly taken her but we are at our limit on dogs. She is the sweetest little thing and the first non barking chihuahua I have ever seen!
My mother is doing so much better. I hope her doctor agrees. It is hard to know if I am doing too much..
Donna, as you make cookies is it possible to put pictures of them on Facebook?
Thinking of you all and hoping your day is happy and full of smiles and kind words. You deserve them!

Morning...I am so ready for the weekend..so ready for my hopefully quiet Saturday...This week has been extremely long and today won't be any shorter. Cori had me up at 1 2 and 3 finally at 3 I gave her food in hopes of shutting her up. it worked. Now I am really tired going into my meeting.

Work this morning...meeting this afternoon. Mom comes this evening...and leaves with my sister and nieces for Florida in the morning...I will miss them...but am honestly glad to be stay home. My daddy will be here all week...we may do a few fun things..

There has been people next door the last 2 days and no one is supposed to be there. There were people putting stuff in back of their truck on Tuesday...They left before anything could be done. Yesterday there was a u hall. Dad saw that...but they didn't get anything..the brother inlaw saw it also and watched from up the street. They must have realized they were being watched because they sped off in the u hall with out getting anything..just like the day before they sped off shortly after I got home like they knew I saw them or something. They must know my schedule or something they only come when I am not home.

Good Morning! The sun is peeking out right now, but I don't know how long that'll last.

Yesterday was good. It was like Central Station for a while with a few customers coming to pick up...well, not all customers per say. My Aunt P came for a cookie tray, then the lady who ordered the 6 doz groundhog cookies, and later in the afternoon my SIL for a plate of cookies. Of course there was chatting with everyone. Delivered the strawberry rhubarb pie into the doctor's office before their lunch time. Was telling the nurse that the new insulin seems to really be working & she gave me a few more sample pens of it. Came home and started mixing cookie dough. Made up 7 different kinds and got 2 baked off before dinner. After dinner I was just done. I even went to bed early.

This morning is Bible study and I hope to get two of the doughs made up into their balls so that they'll be ready to bake when I get home. Baking them and the sugar cookies are on my agenda for this afternoon. Dinner will be leftovers.

              Have a good one all!

Good Morning to all...had to soak my eye and nose with warm washcloth to start my day, just allergies at a weird time of year...for now my eye has stopped itching and feeling like something is in it...Yesterday was a busy, busy day, we left the house at 7:15 a.m. and didn't get back home until 2:00 p.m. I had labs, then infusion, then pharmacy for the Warfarin, will be back and forth for a little while until they get my blood where they want it to be. Why is it the older I get the more things that are going wrong? so darn aggravating, I feel like I should be feeling great but then some days I get a reminder I am not, so will see the best in each day....and keep on keeping on..

Hungry this morning, so need to look around and see what strikes my fancy..

Sure hope Maxi can come out of the closet soon, LOL

Donna hope that this medicine continues to work for you, sounds very promising, and you are like the rest of us, making the best of each day, you are such a trooper, all that baking, raising a child, taking care of your hubby the way you do, wonder woman..

Good morning to all you fine sweet, loving people, here is to a wonderful day.

                KISS (keep it simple stupid)

Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God

                  Good Morning!

Well, I see our groundhog has seen his shadow and predicted 6 more weeks of winter. Not sure this part of the country will agree. Buds already popping out and about.

Day 3 of chemo, so back to the clinic. Shot only takes 5 seconds, but the yada yada takes much longer.

We got desperate yesterday and had bacon and tomato sandwich for lunch. I cooked the bacon in the oven on a rack inside a cookie sheet, and it was picture perfect. That is the way to go with bacon - I know I've tred every way out there. Ha Ha!

                  Have a wonderful day, Everyone.

                    Good morning everyone.

Boff, look at our bodies as cars. The older they get, the more things go wrong. The only problem with us is that we "get nickeled and dimed" until death. We can't trade our old bodies in at some dealership.

Took my papers in to get my taxes done done yesterday only to find that I need another 1099 form from my investment firm. Called them and the guy said he couldn't give us the non-taxable income. The form will be mailed around the 15th. I will have to check some of the firms here in town. The present firm has never been cooperative, and their financial adviser left town a couple years ago, so I can't "directly" cuss anyone out for their lack of cooperation.

Hope to get out a bit today. It starts getting colder tomorrow., Everyone, have a great day.

Good morning, all. A rainy day in CA but it doesn't look like it will be a lot. We got enough in the last storm to last for a while.
Expected to continue off and on for the next week.

Feeling good after 2 months of constant pain with my back and with all the rules that have been added to control opiates it's rather like gun control. Only outlaws will have drugs Starting a new course of PT soon.
I had to figure out how to get it sorted out myself.

And it's Spring. I don't agree with the calendar. The Daffodils are starting to bloom and I saw buds on the Forsythia yesterday.

                      Glad to be back again.

What a morning. Woke up to rain pouring down. The dogs didn't want to go out and I couldn't blame them, but...
Two early kids this morning. One I knew was coming early and the other seems to have a new early s he duke this semester.
I am not accepting what the PA ( sorry, Donna and Maye) groundhog says. If we have to have rain then I will go by the CA groundhog who didn't see his shadow.
I did get all of the kitchen swept and ready to be steamed with my Shark. But on a wet, rainy, paw print kind of day, I am not sure how effective it will be.
Becky takes my mother's for her post op check today. Hopefully, he releases her to drive and physical therapy...my mom wants to visit Florida next month when my niece and Chloe are out there. The other niece has a new baby, too, so it would be a great time to visit.
Fingers crossed you all have a good day!
