  • Dec 15th....Thursday....

Good Morning! Thought I'd get this started. It's so darn cold, that they delayed school by 2 hrs early last night. Thankful we knew that soon, so we didn't even set the alarms, but guess who was awake way early...ME!

Yesterday was very good. Delivered the doctor's ofc then went to Aldi's for a couple items...$30's later...and stopped at Mary's Cakes for Red coloring gel...$19 later. Bought some tips, a new cookie cutter, and some snowflake decorations too. Came home and started mixing up 9 kinds of cookie dough. Got 5 of them baked off and even made a decent dinner. Relaxed and watched TV and clipped coupons and put them away. Very good day. Had a very nice long chat with Blaise's other grandpa. He called to tell me what game system they were getting Blaise for Christmas since I ask. My SIL wanted to get a game, but we didn't know which kind of system they were buying him. Told Kathy so she could get him a game too, and boy was she PO'd. That girl loves to bite the hand that feeds her and sees the worst in everything.

    Oh...sorry...got side tracked.

Today I'm going to TRY to bake off the rest of the dough. Sue is coming and we HOPE to get most if not all the cookies iced. I already have the icing made. That's today's goals. Today is Becca's LAST DAY of college. Her last final is at 8:30am and then she's done. She has a training session at work from 6-10pm. She doesn't have to work tomorrow, so I'm hoping she'll come home & we can celebrate tomorrow evening with her. We'll see. I was hoping she'd come home tonight, but I don't know that she'll want to be driving back here that late. We'll see. We are just so proud of her!

    Have a good one all!

BTW...there is a big discussion going on on FB about the RT and people coming back. Welcome back all that decide to come check us out again!!!!!

Good morning Cookielady and all who follow. What a beautiful day. It's 65º right now and going to 70º today. I'll take it.

Aldi's shopping this morning because I cleaned windows yesterday and didn't feel like going. I hate the crowd on Wednesday anyway. I doubt if they sold out on the fruit and produce and those are our main items. I love their Lemon Tuna in a pouch for 89 cents. One of these days I'll break down and buy that chocolate brioche. I've heard it melts in your mouth.

Our termite guy will be here at noon to do his thing and I sprayed for the other bugs around the outside and inside of our house yesterday. Glad to have that done. I need to get my craft closet organized better and maybe I'll do that this afternoon. We'll see.

        Good morning.

Donna 'shamed' me into coming in and saying hello Actually, I've thought a lot about you all, but for some reason, I just can't remember or make a point of coming in to say howdy.

Just a little quick update on me: we moved out of Las Vegas and now live in Gunnison, Utah (central Utah, small town of just over 3000 people). Bought a nice home, so this will be our final move until they move us in a pine box...

We now have TWO great grandbabies... I might have mentioned Laci (born 7/8/15) but our little man, Thomas (family name, call him Tommy) was born 9/26/16. They both live in Las Vegas, and I miss them a lot. Hopefully we're going to go down for Christmas so Ralph can meet Tommy for the very first time. I've been down twice -- once just after he was born, then again in November when granddaughter Dominique and Thomas finally got married. They've been together nearly 5 years, it was about time.

Nothing much else going on in our world... just crocheting, reading and playing computer games is how I spend my days.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Good Morning....Judy, Judy, Judy so good to see you here...good for Donna...hoping the 'shame' gets to more people...So in Utah now, and me and Donna so hate the moving stuff and now here you are...being away from the grands is no fun at all.

Well my past few days has been accepting my deliveries and getting them unboxed, have a few more yet to come, hoping hubby will do something with boxes pretty soon...he is in a whirlwind of emotions right now because of retirement and 'giving up control' of things...he is not sleeping and his personality really STINKS!! I told him last night he needs to just "Let It Go" and let his replacement handle things, because this time next week it will not make a hill of beans difference...newbies taking over are young and no it all's and it is driving him crazy....and me along with it....did it have to be during holiday season?

Today I will try and make heads or tails of some of the mess I have in the entryway and diningroom...Rufus is doing much better which has helped me immensely, they are both adjusting to the new cat food, it doesn't seem to require as much as they once ate...use to be they both got 1/4 of a can in the morning and 1/4 in the evening plus the dry in the dish, they now eat more dry than the canned, plus I bought prescription treats which they are very happy for...

Did make some Mexican wedding cake cookies yesterday, was in the mood for them, today will make some double decker fudge, chocolate and peanut butter....also hoping to get magic bars made...So need to get this day started..

Here is the mess I have in my entryway...Have a great day one and all...IMG_0424.jpg

            Good morning, all.
Yesterday we had a pretty good scare. My incision started "draining", but we couldn't see where it was actually coming from. I must've leaked at least a quart of bloody water between the living room and bathroom. Then more later. Finally reached someone at the hospital who was able to talk us through what we were seeing and what to do. (This afternoon I'm scheduled to see our PCP.). Maybe a couple of days more before the incision really begins to close. This morning I woke with a slower leak, so my nightie is damp, stained, and I keep a hand towel next to my tummy. At 4 a.m. E decided to check my bandages, and most leakage is from the stoma area, where my bags used to be. Moving around is far from comfortable. If I drop something, E has to pick it up, because I can't.
My son asked if we'd be there before Christmas, and I said we don't know yet, it depends how the incision does. He asks, "what incision?" How does he think all this gets done??? Or the meaning of "surgery"? He's 55 just after the new year! Du-uh! Oh well. Won't we all be glad when I've healed!

So, no plans today except see the PCP, and another doctor tomorrow morning.

Looks like it's 50° right now, but heading up to 82° today.

Not much else going on in this neck of town.
            Have a great day!

            Hi Judy!
            Cookie, Yay for Becca!!!

Jo, would a night time pad or other monthly pad work over that leak? It would save on cleaning towels.
I used them over an insitiion I had a long time ago.

Good morning and Hello Judy! I was going through recipes the other day and quite a few I had printed off said jgarcia!
I am in a hurry this morning. My routine is a bit out of order and I have one little girl coming at 7:00am.
It is really windy and raining outside. today is Becky's last final and she is driving up to Redding by herself. The person she usually rides with has an interview and Becky just wants to get home.
I hope you all have better weather than we are today. I think I need to rethink our food for the day. I was going to have turkey sandwiches, but I think I will change it to grilled cheese. And soup.
I made cookies yesterday for the shelter. Baking and tasting can get me into trouble, though, so I am not doing anymore except for Becky's birthday cake...
Make it the kind of day you want it to be!

Wind chill of 2 this morning with more cold predicted and possibly some type of moisture this weekend. Yesterday I cancelled lunch with the school chums to stay home and ended up meeting Sierra for lunch. Yesterday was her last final and now she will be transferring schools and heading in the opposite direction of us. I think a break is necessary...nuff said about that. I have stopped hiding the Elf in hunt and seek places and putting him the open being a bad elf. Yesterday he crawled into the candy bowl and threw candy papers everywhere. Yes, someone had to make the mess so I made the sacrifice and produced the trash...we are out of cookies anyway so candy was naturally next. Today I will let Jon hide him since he is off. Thinking today I will run for groceries and the biggest part of Christmas food and stay in this weekend. I will also have help carrying in the groceries and that is a big help. I understand retiring husbands messing up routines but I sure do wish mine were here to have retired. He died at 49 with visions of early retirement. Often wonder what life would be like if he were here. Probably living someplace full of junk because the man loved auctions and junk stores. Oh well, stay warm and stay healthy and those of you with a little sun enjoy. Today is a two pair of socks day for me Karlinann so sit in the sun for a few extra minutes for us northerners who are entering into a long and cold winter. Happy Day everyone.

                Good Morning.

WOW~ Judy, wonderful to see you. Not sure where Gunnison is. Sure I've been through or nearby at sometime or other. Tell Ralph HI from us.

Jo, you are a warrior. And so is E. Hope you know how much you are loved by this "family."

Donna, you go girl! Get these Rounders back. That would be awesome. I miss everyone so much. What about Pat? Congratulations to Becca. I know how hard she's worked, and it helps to have a great Mom and Dad's support.

Janet, you need to find David a hobby that will keep him home. I know he likes wood - what about whittling?

Paula, thanks for updating me on Beckie. Glad all is OK. We have brown recluse spiders here, what have put a pretty good scare into quite a few folks I know.

So far, only have my nativity out. Everything else is so hard to reach, and with the fireplace going, it's hard to redo the mantle. Not sure anything else will happen.

Well, I need to get busy on the Historical Association newsletter. Items poured in email overnight.

Have a good day, Friends. D:

Maybe the 6 time will be the charm. I keep getting dumped. I have tried to post some photos to show that my Round family is always in my heart, on my mind and in my prayers! I've been taking a walk down memory lane. A

iken has been hot, cold, freezing, sunny, and rainy! It's like a crapshoot trying to figure out what the weather is going to be. It's going to be 50 degrees today and that is an acceptable temperature for me.

I am going to lunch with some friends. We are going to a new restaurant called Willie Jewell's Schoolhouse BBQ. I don't normally do barbecue, but I love beef brisket and this place is supposed to have really good beef brisket. I have to run and get ready so that I don't make my ride wait. I will try to come back and post those pictures later. Have a great day everyone.

Boo! Bet some of you thought I was dead! Well, I'm still alive and kicking. Not going to excuse myself for being gone so long.....lets just say major illness and depression can make a hermit out of you. Read Val's thread on FB and decided I should make contact. Life is quiet. I go to church on Sundays and see a Christian counselor ever 2 weeks. I visit my granddaughter Addie and that s abut it. The cold and any bad weather may slow me down some, but I am functional at this point.....better than the shutdown i was in. Hope all of you are having a great Christmas season. Will do some reading and try to catch up a little. Have a blessed day!
Good friends are like diamonds...precious and rare.

Jo good to see you here....understand what depression and life changes can do to a person....coming out of it is a slow but steady progress. Just drop by and say hello if you can, more if you feel like it...cyber hugs to my cyber twin...

JoS - I believe you are the one that got Brett's cat, Coni? I didn't know if you posted here anymore or not. Is Coni still living? I have thought about her a lot, especially since we have an empty nest now & my husband & I got a cat, name Jazz. How have you been the last several years? Depression can be so hard to fight. It's good to 'see' you here! Hope to talk to you again sometime.

What a wonderful grandson I have! This is the young man I usually don't hear from, and have seen only twice.
So I was surprised when E brought in a recording of his phone call saying Thank You. He found out I'd been having surgery when he called, so he called again today and I got his call. He said he's very aware that I hadnt missed any holiday or important occasion ($), and he wants to be in touch. How sweet is that! He's married with 2 kids, finished EMT training at the top of his class. (I'm seeing more medical careers in my family these days!). More surprisingly is that I noticed that he's got a very good vocabulary. Anyway, this young man has just made my day, if not my holidays. It's so nice when they grow up successfully. 🤗
