Morning...A lot on my mind this morning...My dad will be seeing a head and neck surgeon today to consult about have a melanoma cut off....and mom had her yearly exam from her surgeon that did her surgery a year ago and she now needs to have an MRI. The surgeon felt something..it could be nothing but still needs to be checked...I must admit I am nervous for both of them....They both seem to not be worried in the least...which is good I am doing enough for both of them...

Work is a bit stressful right now...apprently Monday I didn't do something correctly so I got to hear about it yesterday...when I went to fix what they said was wrong I didn't find that much out of place...I asked about it and apprently I need to be more careful about balancing my racks of clothes...

I am really enjoying my sister and her family being here....but ready to not have to share the house....My nieces decided the Christmas tree needed to be up so they put it up last night.

    Good Morning

Bethina ,, understand about wanting your house back to yourself.. company is great but....... been there ,done that too.. hope today goes better for you at work... just keep doing the best you can. December is a crazy month in stores!

I got to stay home yesterday . ( as opposed to David having me run some place )... got some extra tasks done..cleaning the stove oven was not on the plans... but I went to cook pot pies and filled the kitchen with blue smoke... I had forgot about the apple pie running over last week.. . so oooo ... it had to cleaned. scraped and made ready to use . bun making on Sat.
Cookies Sunday... also David had a new pr of jeans that he had bought in Nov. ... laid them out and got them hemmed up.. besides doing 3 loads laundry. .dusting . running downstairs sweeper. everywhere.. and then empty and clean the sweeper.. enough cat hair in it to make a whole new kitty.

today the D. Man wants to go shopping ... so making lists,,Aldis.. Boscovs. Sams.. cold but not snow.. wish I knew what to get my Daug. and two Daug in laws.

Hi SassyGirl and HI to you all.. be back later to read.
Take it one Day , one step, at a time.. cause that's all we really have.

Am still in the hospital. Tubes, monitors, leg compression tie me down. Yet, am supposed to try walking & sitting today.
Was wakened every 20 minutes last night.
        Need a good nap!

Good SUNNY Morning! YEA!!!!! Yesterday was SO GLOOMY.

Yesterday was good. Another slow but sure day. I got the doughs mixed up and baked off 4 of them and got the pie made. Cook a good dinner. Found a babysitter for Blaise for Friday.

This morning I'm heading into town to grocery shop and HOPEFULLY finish my little bit of Christmas shopping that's left. I have a new customer coming this afternoon to pick up her order, so I have to make up a couple trays when I get home. Want to finish up a couple kinds of cookies that need icing.

((JoG)) so glad you got to check in with us. Slow but sure.

            Have a good one all!

Good Morning to all...was awake way early this morning but had much to do....

JoG, glad the surgery went well now on to recuperation...

Elaine yes the kitty is on a special diet, and like you said, prescription and same thing your kitty is eating Hills c/d diet...trouble is I have two cats so it is double expensive....well there is a big problem now, I am having to watch and protect Rufus constantly from Sam, Sam is hissing and growling at him constantly and I am so afraid he is going to attack him...vet said that isn't unusual after a cat has had a stay at the clinic its all the smells he has brought home with him of other animals, that in a week it should be better...Rufus seems to be doing okay, he said he removed 8 stones but that he also had to vacuum out his uretha because he had crystals in there and those are painful also, he said I wanted to do xrays but the power went down last time you were here, and I said yes, only after I demanded them you still insisted it was STRESS!! He knocked $30 off the bill, big wow, should have been more...over a $1,000 yesterday and hubby said on top of the already over $500 we spent...I don't know how people can have animals if it cost that much to take care of them, now the expensive 'prescription' food.

Maxie I type a post here all the time but trouble is I hit enter on my keyboard and poof it is gone....instead of clicking on post icon...grrrrrr hate it when that happens..

Was thinking about Mickie yesterday how very, very sad....a woman that did so much for her family....I know how fast and devastating that disease can be...happened to my friend when I moved to IL, he was fine when I left and within a year he was gone..

Well folks time to get a move on, going to try and catch a few zzzzz's while the cats are sleeping....Have a great day one and all.

Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God

Ended up spending the entire day yesterday running around. I cold find more running to do today but Sierra just called to say she is heading over for the day since some of her classes have been cancelled and her computer died and she forgot her power cord so she is going to use mine for homework. I have plenty to do here so should stay home and off the computer! I do need to get these toys to the drop off point but that requires a trip home...but then I could go to the bank and grab some money. Why does money just evaporate? Andrew finally decorated the downstairs tree and then brought track up to set up the train around the upstairs tree but...always a but...we are missing a turn piece or something technical. I want his father to get moving and get the track piece so he can set up the train. Andrew has it meandering around the tree and along the wall and it is totally unacceptable and totally not compatible to my Christmas decor. That means his set up is on a 10 years olds eye to beauty but my eye is the one that counts. We ordered meat yesterday and I hope it will be ready for pickup while Jon is here to haul it. Tomorrow he is meeting up with his brother but I will hold down the fort and get Drew off the bus. He ask if it was just the two of us could we go out to eat pizza. Silly boy..we always eat out when Dad is not around. JoG glad you're surgery is over and hoping for a speedy recovery. Beth I had melanoma surgery and it is all well an good. Snow flurries in our forecast and the coldest temps since last February. Whooppee! NOT!!

yes, happy you got to check in Jo!
It is still too dark out to know if we will have sun or not today. The rain is to come and not sure if today it starts or tomorrow. It is giving us a good snow pack as well as water in the lakes. Parts of my lawn like the edges are green and growing again! Did I tell you all I have lilacs on the top of the bush? The blooms are lasting a lot longer than they do in the Spring!
I am as ready as I can be for the mother to come checkout the daycare. And, to be honest, it is as much me checking the family out as it is them checking me out. Sometimes I have not been as eager for them as they are for me and just find a way to not have an opening...if they are people who have had a previous daycare or just sound too demanding or too vague on their schedules...I have found too often that parents don't tell the whole story about why they left the previous daycare and I am very careful. It just takes a couple of times (should only have taken once!) of not being paid for childcare to teach me a lesson...
Anyway, yesterday was a good day. The plumbers came and fixed the water pipe. Rather than have them snake it out, I opted for the suggestion to replace it. Now I can get back to washing clothes without water on the floor and the laundry area/diapering area is super clean! When the repair guy pulled out the machine I dusted it and the back and swept out the things that had fallen between the dryer and washing machine.
Yesterday a friend I hadn't talked to since a funeral in Feb called and we are going out to dinner on Saturday. We used to see each other all the time or talk on the phone but then just got different schedules...it was so good to hear her voice and I am excited to catch up on Saturday.
.I hope we all have a good day. Maye, with everything you did yesterday I would have rather gone out! But getting so much done feels so good. I know what you mean about the kitty hair, only with dogs! I had moved our sofa when the trim was being painted before Thanksgiving and there was so much dog hair that I had missed when I Swiffered...then, when the same guy was working on my treadmill I couldn't believe all the hair that had been trapped under it! We could have cloned a few dogs, I am sure
I better get going...have a good day. I wish I could have some of that warm, baking aroma in my house for my parent visit! Donna, I bet it smells amazing at your house!.

                    Good Morning.

Jo, so glad to hear from you this morning. I know you are a good patient and will follow orders.

Sharon, happy to hear Rufus is recovering well.

Just got back from dentist and when I started to hang my clothes in the closet, I decided it HAD to be straightened out.

So now I'm down to preparing for lunch. Thinking maybe shrimp gumbo sounds good. Have some fresh/frozen okra to throw in.

                    Have a super day, Everyone.

Thanks for the the Reminder SassyG.... I am old enough to remember That day... and then the stirring of pride as the country began recruiting ..my Dad was in his thirties. had 4 kids, and was a mechinist.. needed at the local steel plant... so was not called. up for duty... no Tv. but the radio news was on....and the newspaper. was not long until things began to be rationed. Gasoline..then came food stamps for certain items. and then began the casualties. and the sadness as families lost relatives .

JoG.. good to read your post.. will be even to better when you are way home!!!
Sharon. got your hands full with kittys... I did not realize how expensive vet care is.
Paula... know that feeling, getting new people .. did the same with piano kids... first took everyone who called.. later make a Waiting list... and Will call you when I have opening..List.
...... for the most part I had great parents. because new people were mostly recommented by my students ...over the years ,I had some absolutely wonderful people... right now. the last three kids are like family.. I will miss this .
                        Hi Maxie.
Donna, I am wishing now I would have done my shopping in Nov... We were out today.. but I not only ran out of energy.. having David with me was to much work.. so afraid he will fall.. the escalator made me hold my breath. . Must get away by myself one day or two..
..... see you all in the morning ...
Take it one Day , one step, at a time.. cause that's all we really have.
