    Good Morning, Friends. :

    Raining cats and dogs. Hope it lasts. We have had the driest year ever.
    Notice the Lady Asian Bugs are back. Column on the front porch was crawling with them. I read they do not like lemon so I may wash it down with something lemon scented.

    Made some bread yesterday. Fun, but now we have all this bread to deal with. LOL

    Still so sad about Mickie.

    Better get the day started. Hugs to Everyone.

    Good Morning....not feeling to good this morning, got sick during the night...and now I feel chilled and sick to my stomach...

    So I will just say good morning to all and have a good day...
    Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God

    Good SUNNY Morning! Today will be our Indian Summer...almost 70...and then it's suppose to plummet to a high in the 30's starting tomorrow...BRRRRR!!!! At least they took the snow out of the forecast.

    Yesterday was good. Baked pies. One of them was a small lemon meringue and I took it and went to visit Linda. She's the wife that runs the farm stand where I take my pies. She's been battling cancer all summer. She's currently in the local nursing home. Had a nice visit with her. I did start icing sugar cookies, but only got 5 doz done. Made a big pot of chicken & rice soup for dinner, so we'll have that for a couple days now.

    This morning Sue is coming and we are going to work on sugar cookies. I'll ice and she'll dip and put any decorations on the finished cookies. Hopefully we knock off 20 doz while she's here. We'll see. I may be dreaming. But a girl can do that ya know. I don't plan to bake another cookie until those are all done being iced. I finally declared that order cut off will be next Sunday. After that you are out of luck. I only need about 20 more doz to reach my personal goal, but will go past that with Sue's help. Her & I decided where I could put a second oven....Cork just rolled his eyes...LOL!!!!

    Have a good one all!

      Good morning ..

      yea , Donna and I get sunshine today... and a warm one!... will look around and see if anything needs washed, DRIED outside.. got to be a blanket or throw that needs a quick wash.

      Karen said she would be over and give my downstairs carpet &.center of the room ..a going over with her rug scrubber...can't go to deep with water .the underneath pad got soaked a couple years ago with water heater leak,( extremely red water).. and if you get it wet . the red comes shining through.. .. but might get the muddy foot tracks looking better.. I wasn't worried about it. but she volunteered.. ..take all the volunteer help I can get.... making a short list of tasks for Mike... ... this house has lights in the middle of the ceilings.. with glass covers.. and none of them got washed this year... thats a climbing job.. take about 20 min to do all.. sooooo...

      Im going to cook in the morning Tomorrow.. so when Mikes get here there will be food to eat.. macaroni salad. sandwiches. and a peach cobbler. if the have already eaten , all that would keep over.. today is finish housework. and then play on cell phone..

      Sharon..here comes the nag, here comes the nag..... I told You to TAKE IT EASY... conserve your energy.. you cannot be sick at Thanksgiving... you can not be sick period...
      now you get the hugs.... curl down and rest today ..

      Elaine,, so glad you are getting rain.. a much needed item.. the Bread... cut loafs in half.. wrap well ,air tight and freeze..you can even slice it before wrapping..take out just what and when you need it.. ( one "old" person who hates throwing out stale bread answer ).Tell John Hi.. does he sleep a lot.?? I see DAvid sleeping in the recliner , a Lot..

      Donna, same advice to you...DON"T push the energy level too much today...you and Sue and great together...but extra cookies not worth you hitting bottom......I can nag her, shes one of mine.. .

      Hi Bethina, SassyGirl... Barb.Pat, Jostoy. Nalani. Punkin, Justy. . and all you other great folks..
      Jo G.. hope all is going well ... did you need or get help?..

      Take it one Day , one step, at a time.. cause that's all we really have.

        For someone who thought they had a nice quiet week I have been on the road someplace every day. I have things piling up that need done and just can't get into anything. Tomorrow is our family Thanksgiving at my sisters and last night Sierra told me she decided to work instead. It is her birthday and I had planned on taking a cake but her loss..hope she wakes up sometime soon but the disappointment in her is deep. Who would have thought? Getting a haircut this morning and will fill the car with gas for tomorrows trip...stop at the bank for some cash since I will be in town. Grocery shopping should be done for next week. Boy do I hate grocery stores around the holidays! Andrew has been cleaning his room so Uncle Scott can sleep in it next week and I need to get the Christmas shopping off Sierra's bed. My sister said her shopping is done and her wrapping finished. I need a dose of energy! I have been reading one of the books ANdrew bought to him every night and he is enjoying it...it is a kids book yet the vocabulary is pretty high level so I stop and make sure he understands. With the homework there is not much time for recreational reading and he has a hard time anyway. Last night I was heading in to watch hockey and he reminded we needed to read a chapter. Jon has been sitting with us playing on his phone but is in the room and makes an occasional comment so guess he is listening too. I like that he sits while we read because it makes it feel cozy and maybe will make Andrew more comfortable with reading. Although I do think his sound effects are not totally necessary! I have cooked such crappy fast meals around here this week and last night we did McDs so will put a pork roast in the crock pot this morning. Wish my mood was better and having this ear clogged again is not helping. When did I turn into an old lady? I need a dose of happy juice and a good boost of energy. And maybe three days where i was forced to stay home..but after tomorrow. Need to get out and have Thanksgiving Dinner tomorrow!

          Good morning everyone.

          Today I will drain the water hoses and get them put away. It is to be 70 here also with rain this afternoon. The 4 yards that I did yesterday can't tell that I ever picked up leaves. We had wind all night, and are to have gusts of 40 mph to day. That should pretty much take down the most of the leaves that are hanging on the trees.

          After Sunday, I won't be picking up anymore as I'm leaving for F.W. early Tuesday. Monday is reserved for laundry and packing. So far the W.W. are leaving any snow prediction out of the 10 day forecast. I'll be staying a week up there, and IF my nephew has gotten the big items out of my S-I-L's garage, I'll be doing more work out there. The last that I talked to her, he still hadn't moved into his house that he bought.

          Time to get busy so everyone have a good day.
          Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured.

            Well, I am with Beth, and say I am happy to see Friday!
            but, it will be a high worry day until I hear that Becky gets to the campus all right. She was a little emotional this morning and had already taken some of the herbal anti stress and anxiety capsules we have. So, relying on a prayer and her ability and determination to get her through.
            I have my church turkey thawed and ready to roast. I am using the wings to cook with the inside stuff and make a gravy.
            I need to startt putting things back since the painting is all done..
            Maye, I have a question: will the piano tuner have to have the piano away from the wall and the back available to him? I don't want to have to keep taking things off and putting them back, so I thought I would ask. He comes on Monday. I have never had it tuned...well, it was once but I wasn't home; Gary was.
            I feel so badly for Mickie and her family. Hugs to you all!

              Good morning, everyone.
              After a week of not sleeping much, I really conked out and slept late this morning.

              Maye, this week I've not seen hide nor hair of any of my neighbors. But I did get a call from our niece at the other end of town last evening. She wanted an update on her uncle of course, but also asked how I was doing and if I needed any help with anything. (Like my stupid bag!). But my bag is doing good, and ought to last another day or two. I admit I've gotten away with eating half meals this week, so no strains on the pouch. I did promise to call if I need any help.
              I prefer half meals, and I'm still getting my nutrition.....and it's much less strain on the bag.

              I have not heard about SIL's funeral plans. My BIL is hospitalized, having tests run, yelling at nurses to let him go home. He's weak, but sounds like he's doing okay. E returns home tomorrow.

              Yesterday I ended up turning on the heat. It looks like the temps will average in the 70's, some days in the 60's ahead. Rain forecasted for Monday. Yay!! So summer is officially gone, and this must be autumn. My elm trees have some yellow-brown leaves. Next month they'll probably have bare branches.

              Well, I have finished my breakfast of an apple Danish, so I ought to get dressed as the morning is still chilly.

              Elaine, you can use some of that bread for church.....make a breakfast strata or overnight breakfast casserole. Or a bread pudding, for that matter.......add apples and pecans to it.

              Have a great day!
              ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
              Create a beautiful day wherever you go.
                I have to share this...Sierra and I did some fast shopping this afternoon and stopped for lunch at Olga's. You will never guess who walked in and joined a table of older women....Santa! He had taken his jacket off and removed his hat at the table. He literally had lunch and was very kind to the kids in there. When we left I ask the manager if Santa paid for his own meal and she said NEVER! If a customer doesn't pay we always comp him. What a treat and we got a big kick out of him just strolling in like a normal guy and having lunch with friends. He stayed in character the entire time we were in there and you gotta give a guy credit for that!
