Hi, Maye. I guess we're the early birds. Was up for the same reason.
I remember Kiel from our visit to PA so long ago. Sure was fun.

I guess I have to finally face the ironing day. I got a new slip cover for the love seat. Same as the one I had on it but Lily has worn out the old one bu jumping on it to get to her favorite perch on the back next to my desk.
When I got the first one 3 years ago I said ironing it is like wrestling am octopus so I knew what I would have to do.

Well, my breakfast is calling again. Sunday breakfast, one of my favorites is buckwheat cakes with apple butter and sausages. My sis, Ada, gave me a jar of her homemade apple butter and it is really yummy.

Later. Everyone have a great day. No rain here for a about a week.

      Good morning.
Yesterday we ate out, shopped, then I got so weary we came back to the hotel so I could nap. Aggggh...when I woke I had a bag malfunction, big time. E changed it, and cleaned up the mess. Well, it won't be so long til I'm rid of it.
Had a great time at dinner yesterday evening with our lady friend. An Italian restaurant that had the tenderest chicken I ever ate! E said the same thing about his veal.
Sounds like people here are still groaning about the election. The big joke is that Canada is building walls to keep US out! 🙄

So this morning we meet the "kids" and niece for brunch. I gotta get going and get dressed. Made my tea & E's coffee, and washed my hair so far. Now for the clothes and stuff. Then call the restaurant manager about seating us all (they don't make reservations there, but she promised to get us close together.

      Wishing everybody a good day!

Good morning...cold good morning with frost on the porch railings and windshields. Had a wonderful time yesterday. The Bob Evans we had breakfast was packed and you could hear the tables around us discussing the election. It is just so darn depressing and not that my candidate lost but what won. I sense there will be a lot of buyers remorse setting in soon. but......we shopped and shopped and shopped until my feet hurt. We shopped the toy store, bed bath beyond, the book store and the entire mall and I managed to find something to buy at each stop. I made a big dent and then came home and ordered a few things. I am thinking I will go to our local mall today and pickup up some gift certificates and wrapping paper. I am ready to get it done although I am not sure my heart is totally into it. After my own shopping is completed I still need to work with Jon on the Santa gifts. He had Drew finished but his daughter is proving to be hard and he does not want to give her a bunch of gift certificates. Jon had wanted to fish today but Andrew is busy and Sierra said she would be by but who the hell knows about her...saying she will be by depends of what mommy dearest has planed...plus having her here is stressful depending on her mood. If neither show maybe I could get Jon to work in the boys cave and Andrew's room and get them cleaned. Holidays are coming quickly and I need bedrooms for guest rooms and the boys cave should probably not stink. The second chair cover has never been finished and has sat half hanging off the chair for a week. I have one compulsively neat and clean son and the other not so much. `How two boys who came from the same parents, raised in the same house with the same standards and rules could be so opposite is mind boggling. Well guys think I will do some more on line shopping and read the hometown paper that came in the mail yesterday. Will do whatever I want to do with the rest of the day. Blues lost so badly last night I had to switch to a Christmas movie. Hope this is just a streak...wow!

I totally know what you mean! Two girls and two boys and you could almost draw a line down the middle of their rooms by one half being neat and clean and the other a total catastrophe! All from the same two parents, but I am not a very organized person, and my husband was...so I guess two kids got his clean genes and two got my random, scattered!

My comment to maxie is taking forever to post...there it finally posted. aagh! Ok, I got 5 of the duplicate posts deleted. No small task, either.
good morning! Is this the way my day is going to go?
Maye, I talked to my MD grandsons and they are really waiting on the edge of their sleds for snow! So, if you do get some, please make sure it reaches down to Millersville, Md. in the Baltimore area I wanted them to have their Christmas sleds and scooters in time for the first snow...
Donna, they are still talking about the cookies! A big hit with the boys and the parents and the uncle.
We are making another drive down to the chico campus after church today. Becky has to go on Friday for an orientation and still isn't totally sure how to get there. I was pretty shocked when we came to two different round abouts! I thought all I had to watch out for were the one way streets they have downtown. I was ready deep breathing for awhile, especially when I realized I didn't remember the way out of there...And Siri is no help. I am looking up and writing down the directions turn by turn this time. Becky was telling me from what someone told her...I should have been better prepared, and will be today. I am a visual learner and the old time paper maps are my preferred method of travel to parts unknown.
Jo, sorry about the malfunction, but honestly, you guys are such a great example of getting through and getting with things! Hope you have a great day with family today.
I got my big turkey into the freezer and now deciding on the other foods. I saw a new sweet potato casserole recipe that I am going to make. Just a different topping from the regular streusel one I do, so not like trying something too new for the first time on company.
Barb mentioned no rain for a week, so I guess she is up on the weather. Thanks, because I have been avoiding the news. Can I just say one more time that added to all the other election stuff that people are talking about is the one that right now directly impacts people here the most: no plastic bags in the grocery stores. I did buy two at Walmart yesterday to see how they are and for 10 cents and 125 reuses (what the bag says), I thought, ok, I can reuse this but having to take my own bags all the time is just going to be my new normal. Not having free garbage liners or yard clean up bags is going to take some thinking outside the box...Ok, I know it is a little thing to most of you, but this is the way California votes...
So, if you are home today, enjoy and if you are away, enjoy that, too. Take care and see you all later!

Morning to all...feeling a bit sad this morning, my first cousin in KY who has been battling cancer, diabetes and lung disease passed away last night...a true gentleman, in all ways...glad I took the time to stop and visit him in the hospital last year on my way back from GA...a surprise visit at the hospital.

Nothing big planned here today, going to have chili over macaroni with shredded cheese and onions on top along with crackers...Nascar race and be lazy...

Maxie love you are getting that shopping done..I have been doing the same thing, a store here and there, on line shopping and some gift cards..

Paula hope those grandkids get that snow this year...those darn roundabouts can throw a person off for sure...I am with you and so many others, sick to death of hearing election 'stuff'.

Maye, your right, David may be sore but seeing him happy is so worth it...its something that brings him joy, life is short, live it..

JoG, sorry about your 'blow out', I know that has to be hard on you, I know how I feel when it happens to me with a Depends on...

Barb hoping when hubby retires I see a whole lot less of the ironing board...makes my back hurt so bad.

Well going to go stand in the shower for a bit...Have a good day one and all.
Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God

Morning..I got up early with the kitty..she let me sleep until almost 7...then I went back to sleep...haven't been up long....I have one load of laundry into wash with more to go...I am so hoping next week isn't quiet as crazy as this one was...

I have about 1/3 of Christmas shopping done....I got some stuff for my bestie at work...so she is finished...I got some stuff also at work for another friend...she is almost done...sent dad to get a gift certificate for another friend...Ordered half of dads and all of my brother inlaws on Amazon...Have ordered half of my sisters...and a part of my mothers..

I will ask my brother in law for help with the other part of my sisters gift...probably a gift card...

I am thinking for my parents and my uncle there is a coffee shop they love in a town near them...and I am going to suprise all 3 of them with gift cards if I can do it...I am going to call the coffee shop and see if they have them if they do I will go from there..probably give the money to my cousin and ask her to help me get them...They will love it and not have a clue!

I am going to get each of the nieces a small gift and then cash....

I am making my youngest niece her gift...at the new house they have a creek that run's the back of the property..she has already claimed it as her own...so I will make a sign that says Reagan's creek. I may order one from the same friend that is making my sister's gift.

Can't forget Cori...She will get a small box of mice and some kitty ice cream.

Hey all!!!! Nice & sunny here.

Yesterday I was home ALL day and worked on that darn sugar cookie dough. If finally gave up when I reached 29 doz. Blah! Kathy & Jimmy showed up about mid afternoon. They stayed for dinner. I did cook, but nothing fancy or labor intensive. I used your spaghetti sauce Aunt J and Kathy wanted me to tell you that was THE BEST sauce she has ever had and if you ever don't have enough room for any, she'd gladly take it for you.

Went to church & SS this morning, came home & ate lunch, and then took a nap in the recliner. It was only suppose to be a power nap and somehow turned into a full fledged 1 1/2 hr nap. Oh well. Now onto finishing that sugar cookie dough. Don't think we are playing cards tonight & Blaise doesn't have Kidz Club, so it'll be a peaceful Sunday evening. I like peaceful evenings.

                Have a good one all!

                  Howdy!

I almost said Good Morning, but realized it is no longer morning.

When I came to the RT this morning, there were 4 online, so I thought I wouldn't get mixed up in the initial post and make a mess. So been to church and had a good turnout and a great sermon about finding peace amidst the turmoil. I think it was what we all needed to hear. I am not a Wesleyan, but I do believe in Doing No Harm, Doing Good, and Staying in Love With God.

Paula, I told John about the plastic bag situation in CA and he said we would be better off if they had been banned when first invented. Although we find all kinds of uses for them, for sure.

Weather still mild here. Certainly no sign of frost on anything. Glad about that.

Good to read your posts. Won't comment on them all, but still grateful in my heart that some of us still here. Wonder how Darla is doing.

Hugs to All of you, dear Friends.
