  • Clocks Back Before Bedtime ~ 11/5 ~ Good Morning!

    Hi Everyone.

OMG! Logging onto old websites with a new computer is NOT easy. Still having trouble communicating with some.

Had to get away from here yesterday and so we went to Paris (TX) to Hobby Lobby and Aldi's. Going to Aldi's is a joke for me. I get all the junk and leave all the good stuff behind.

So sorry to hear about Sharon. Hope jostoy has some news today.

Waiting to hear how Donna is, as well. Janet - let us know, please.

    Back to the grind.

    Hugs to Everyone.

    Good SUNNY Morning!

I'm feeling MUCH better. Surgery went well. The goiter was much bigger than they thought & went down into my collar bone. I was so tired that Corky didn't even go up with me. He said good bye as I was going up to my room. Blaise came home sick, so Corky had to go get him. My Mom had to pick him up from the school. I slept most of the day of surgery, but not very well during the night. Therefore I was dragging yesterday and shuffling around. Becca tried to do everything for me. So glad she was home. I got a solid nights sleep last night & I feel so much better.

Still going to take it a bit slower than normal today. I have to take a couple trays of cookies and pumpkin rolls over to the General Store and I've got that done already. I have an order for a cherry pie IF I want to make it...we'll see. The person who has it ordered called & left a msg on Thursday morning that he wanted this pie and would be over later to pick it up. Well he got surprised when no one was here and niether was a pie.

Good to be home. Have a good one all!

        Good morning everyone.

Cookie, glad you're feeling better this morning. Know you were happy for Becca being home with you.

And no I have no more info on Sharon. I am included in that "no phone calls". Sharon will let us know something as soon as she is feeling up to being online.

Already have a load of laundry in the machine. Besides laundry, I'll be picking up more leaves for the Monday pick up by the city. Plan on doing my neighbors as well since he doesn't have a vac mower. He is the one who always cleans my drive of snow during the winter. So I do mowing jobs for him to make the "exchange".

This year I have also gotten a snow blower as my back just won't take the shoveling anymore. When Russ cleans the drive, there is always the snow left behind up by the garage door.

Yesterday I went and paid for my new counter tops for the kitchen. Should get them in sometime the first part of Dec. After they are installed, then I'll get the backsplash measured for the installation of the subway tile. Then the final project will be to get the kitchen cabinets painted. Right now they are the oak and that "dates" my kitchen badly. So I'm "moving up in the world" by updating my kitchen.

Won't be on for 3-4 days probably as I'm going to the Lake after Church tomorrow. Will be closing the camper for the winter. Don't know how long it will take me, but I'm allowing 3 days for the job. I don't move as fast in my "old age".

        Everyone have a great day.
Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured.

Well lost my first post..new is not always better and this computer has never liked me. It needs a good updating and cleaning since it was Sierra's old one but I need to grab a savvy person in the family to do it. I did not know when early voting was in this county so will wait until Tuesday to vote...it will be Hillary. I know what I am getting with her and the other is a surprise waiting to happen. To many secrets hidden in those tax returns I am afraid and his pettiness, lack of control and ego is a huge concern to me, not to mention a complete lack of common sense. As for state issues I will vote for everyone who is pro union. The local issues cause me concern...I have never joined this community and but would hate to vote against something it needed. Need to get some info on the library issue for sure. I see vote against signs and wonder who would vote against a library? Must be more to that. I will just be glad to get the crap off my phone, out of my mailbox and off my tv! Furnace is running so cool must be back but looks like the sun will shine today. Jon took off early this morning for a train show. He and Andrew are getting the trains lined up for under the Christmas tree and evidently we 'need' something. Drew is all excited over which train to run upstairs and which to run down. Big decision which may have something to do with this trip today. The running of those trains around the tree brings back so many memories to me when my husband and I would sit in the dark with just the tree lite while he ran the train after the boys went to bed. Time change this weekend. I normally like the change but with Drew not getting off the bus until 4 it leaves him no outside time if this weather continues to be so mild. Kids need that down time after school and before homework. Guess today I will try to do some of the things I did not do yesterday but then again may not do anything...again. Must must must start this shopping thing. I have never been so not in the mood. I love Christmas, shopping should be done by now and wrapping started. I haven't even started a list this year! Sierra wants to order hockey tickets for my birthday and I cannot even get in the mood for that. I think mommy dearest is still in the back of my brain and I have to get THAT out of my head...I need a good mental purging! A thorough cleansing of the brain is in order...do they make brushes for that I wonder? Sorry to hear about Sharon and hope Donna is well. Will sign off and enjoy the quiet with a second cup of coffee and maybe a cookie or two. Happy Saturday to all!!

            Good morning.
It's 51° right now, going to 78° today. Humidity is up, but no rain in the immediate forecast. So it'll be a nice day.
E thought of something to get at Costco, so I'll go along to look at some more books.
I'm thinking about an egg sandwich today for breakfast when E gets up.

So I need to set up a brunch for next weekend, in Phx. Two daughters and a couple of grands want to meet our visiting niece and her new spouse. It'll be fun. I just need one of my girls to see if she can set it up. Many of the Good Egg restaurants have changed their names in the last couple of years. I know where they are, but not their names and addresses. 🙄

Elaine, thanks for the reminder. Not that it affects us - AZ doesn't do DST. But it affects us knowing the time for friends and relatives.
Cookie, I'm glad to hear you're doing better.
Beth, have fun with demo day.
Jostoy, sooooooo busy! I'm glad you pace yourself.
Thinking about Sharon. Concerned. Hope she is well enough to be in touch soon.

To all. Have a very good day today!

Good heavens! Good morning to all.
Had my post typed out and it disappeared! I got a "0 error" flag, whatever that means.

Well it's another cool day for us, humid but no rain forecasted. Nice day to be out.
Not a whole lot going on.here. But have 2 medical appts next week, then a weekend in Phx with a visiting relative.

Thanks for the clock reminder, Elaine.....doesn't affect us, but it does our relatives around the country.
Cookie, glad you're doing good after the surgery.
Jostoy....busy lady! Glad you're pacing yourself.
              Beth, have a good day.

Hope you all have a really good day today.

Oops, I see my first post now. It took long enough to pop up. Thought I lost it, because I did wait a while before deciding to retype.

We were away 90percent of the day yesterday... had a wonderful visit with DAvid's sister Bonny...( if you can call wonderful setting crowded into a small room at the nursing home . with her room mate bed and belongings too.. but with extra chairs) . we still had fun talking and laughed a lot... Knowing all her problems , it was good to have spent time with the Real Bonny once again... and her Daughter..

but left me so tired. that today will be a quiet day I hope.. hopefully get the ingredients all gathered in I need to make a pot of spag. sauce.. ( it will get to your house eventually Donna)..

Will go find out where and what is going on with Sharon.

                Hi to you all..
Take it one Day , one step, at a time.. cause that's all we really have.

Good afternoon everyone, I am back home. They are pretty sure it was a reaction to the shot I got for my pulled muscle that sent my blood pressure sky high 199/106 a headache that was excruciating and my chest hurting like crazy. The Dr. Said she has one other patient that this happened to, very rare. Of course leave it to me. I have had so many blood draws it's a wonder I have any blood left. Will let you know more later.

Checking in late due to appointment this morning g and sleeping in till 7:00!
So good to hear that both cookielady and boffler are on the mend.
I have normal Saturday errands of shopping and cleaning and taking things to Good Will but I will add in some mowing as soon as the lawn dries out a bit. I am hoping the rest of the leaves come up easily with the mower and the bag on the back.
The Shelter is open now, November through April, and Becky is back to volunteering on Saturdays. That leaves me 4 hours in the evening to fill. I think I want a pedicure later today.
Maxie, I am with you. Can't wait to Not get phone calls, post cards and flyers and political ads on tv. Best thing about DVR'ing is fast forward through all commercials. But, if they help anyone make up their mind to vote, then, more power to them. Just Vote!
My son Loved the cookies I had Donna send to him at my other son's house. Stuart's words: We all went to town on them! Not sure if other people use that phrase, but believe me, it is a good thing!
Hope your day goes well and you all take care of yourself and your loved ones!
Donna and Sharon, especially, keep getting better!
