Morning all...I shut cori out of my room last night and only woke once. I feel rested this morning...ready to face the world....

Cubs won last night...

Work has been work all week....Yesterday the big wigs for our store/company were in the store...One of them complemented me on my old man costume from last week..today I am not dressing up..I am honestly sick to death of dressing up...Halloween is not my favorite holiday....I don't think that I will even turn my light on Monday....I will get candy for my neighbors son...thats all.

Will probably have a nap when I come home from work...and then clean my room and down stairs..

actually I too had a lot of good unbroken sleep last night.. too bad David wants to go to shopping... I have little housekeeping chores on a list, and checking them off one by one...... but a trip to stores saps the energy .. will be limited to the less strenuous ones.. two more geraniums to un pot and repot. to winter over..
Mark stopped back in yesterday and took down the three tomatoes plants in the flower bed along the wall.. those three plants produced enough eating tomatoes for us all summer.. and were still hanging full of green ones,, but the frost had hit the plant.. and the tomatoes were also getting a bitter taste. .must try that again next year.

planning a trip to visit David's sister next week one day... she is now a resident in a care facility.. but her health is so "iffy". want to visit before the weather gets bad.. Mark will drive us .almost a 2 hour trip.. long way to go to say Hello... but she don't travel any where.. and I don't go in the snow!..

Bethina, Im not turning on lights for Halloween either... bought a bunch of candy last year.. had 3 children stop.. and then David ate the rest of candy.. a no no... so this year I will not be home.. I do have a bag of candy stashed in case some relatives or close friends show up with their little ones..

What do you do with your geraniums?



Paula,
the ones that are singles in pots. I just trim back a lot of the upper growth.. set on the bay window sill in bedroom. water occasionally.. not heavy watering.. they sometimes even get blooms.. that is a coolish spot too.. the other ones that were in the ground I will loosely pot them in soil. set in the house garage . its cool and lots of light.. do the same, cut them back to main stem ,, a little water now and them..in May,,I will shape them , completely water soaked and let them set in house a bit.. then plant outside.. so far they have always come back out very nicely.. the main thing with geranium... if you water them a lot the have tons of green leaves.. If you cut back on watering ( or less rain) then they bloom and bloom.. they do prefer drier ground to bloom..

Good Morning, had a wonderful day all day yesterday, visited my friend and took them their soup, she wasn't home but came here later, then a nice phone conversation with another friend, ordered pizza for supper, then after supper a cousin stopped by for his veggie soup and I also had some chicken noodles for him, in return I got me some turtle meat to use...have not had turtle soup in ages nor baked turtle, that is in my plans now...yummy. Later I got a text message asking me if I had used his Grandma's recipe for the chicken noodles because it tasted just like what his Grandma use to make....compliment..

Today is a dentist appt. I screwed up this week, so will make sure I am there early, LOL...

Not much else planned, maybe some shopping while I am out and about, been doing some Christmas shopping, a little at a time rather than waiting until last minute...Easy just to click, click, click and have it shipped, my kind of shopping...never have been a big shopper...just do not enjoy wondering around looking at things..

Well time to read the news, finish my coffee, then hit the shower and get this day started...

I am shopping your way, too! The biggest reason is living in this small town there just aren't enough real choices. If I can find items on Amazon and ship with my Prime, I figure I am getting my money's worth! I saw some snow scooter type things the boys in Maryland will like. My mom sends over all her catalogs for the daycare kids to cut and paste, but I go through them first checking out anything that will make a good gift.

Morning....I NEED SUNSHINE!!! It's rainy & dreary here. A good day to go back to bed, but that isn't happening.

Yesterday was good. Ran my errands before dropping off Corky's car for repairs. Baked cookies...surprise, surprise. Ok...I did slip in a few pies in there also. The restaurant called for a cake & pie. When I make the choc PB pies, I make a few at a time and pop them in the freezer. Once Cork got home, I delivered them. Made a nice dinner. I got a burst of energy around 9pm, so I rolled & baked the sugar cookies.

Had a nice chat with the General Store lady. She wants to start carrying small plates of my cookies on Fri & Sat. She LOVED the cookies I gave her. She placed an order for a tray of cookies for an event her son has to take cookies.

This morning I'm going to bake the last batch of dough I had in the refrig, then spend the rest of the time putting finishing touches on the other cookies I baked. Don't know if I'll get the sugar cookies iced though. Hopefully Corky's car is done today. We knew it wouldn't get done in one day because the part had to be ordered.

Beautiful day here. Headed to 82. Did get 3/10" rain last night. Always happy about that.

Good morning all. It's been a while. Had a toothache for the second time in my life. Still on antibiotics to clear up the infection so they can pull it. Only my second extraction, too, not counting wisdom teeth.

Finally got a new primary. Glad to be able to talk to somebody about the swelling on my right leg. Cat scan tomorrow to check for blood clot.

Fought leg cramps all night so little rest for me. I think it's the bad circulation. It has gone from occasional to nearly every day. well, it is every day in my toes but the legs are rare.

That gives you some idea of why I haven't been around but there is some good news as we are expecting a nice rain for the next 4 days

Today is laundry day whether I feel like it or not. Must go have some breakfast and then sort clothes. I do miss having my own washer.

Yay for our rain! I can hear it coming down right now and we have the same forecast. I feel bad for the kids on Halloween, but I am seeing green grass in places that were totally bare so I am feeling like you, Barb!

Good morning all.

I did get the furniture dusted and the windows washed yesterday. So I literally have a house that is clean inside and out. In between the dusting and window washing, I mowed the yard. This time of year, it is more acurrately to say that I mowed the leaves. I like to chop up the leaves as they are high in nitrogen which is a good fertilizer for the lawn. Once the leaves start falling heavy, I collect them and the city vacs them up and hauls them away.

Today I also slept in until 7:30. Don't remember waking at all during the night. Must be the change in the weather or we are all very tired.

Today is a play day. Going to T.H. with my favorite little girl and her great-grandma. This will be Violet's birthday outing. She gets out of school around noon, so grandma and I won't have any time to shop for ourselves as it takes an hour to get there and her mommy wants to see her today as well.

Time to get me a bite to eat so everyone have a great day and enjoy whatever you do.

Good morning, all
Yesterday turned out to be hotter than expected @ 95°, so today's forecasted for 96°. I thought we were done with the 90's, but guess not, now. 🌵
Yesterday we were out all day. I woke at 4:30 and didn't get back to sleep, though I lingered in bed til 6. We left early to go to the Cancer Center for mid-morning labwork...it's an hour's drive with all the traffic. Got a new nurse, and she was hillarious! Had me laughing so hard that I thought she'd never get the needle in my port, as she was laughing hard too. I even got hugs when I was leaving.
Then we had time to kill, so we browsed through Trader Joe's, and found a few things. The. E took me to a medical supply mobility scooter store to try out a scooter. This will be for those long walks at airports, zoos, botanical gardens, malls, etc. we didn't buy one yet, but he is seriously considering it. Then we went to Applebee's for a quick lunch. Then on to the Radiology building near the Cancer Center. They took me in quickly for my CAT scan and MRI. E was getting worried after 1-1/2 hours, but it didn't take much longer than that. He wanted to check another scooter store, but I told him I was tired and wanted to get home. He didn't understand why I'd be tired after lying on my back for nearly 2 hours. Good grief, it does sap one's energy to go through that. I will see the cancer doctor for the results on Halloween....how appropriate.

So, today, no real agenda. Smells like a corpse in the fridge, so I'm dumping all the leftovers and anything that might have gotten fuzzy and weird. E likes his time in the kitchen, learning the ins and outs about stuff. But the refrigerator isn't one of the things he's kept up with. Feeling a little more independent about "housewifely things" makes him happy. So I'll tackle the job today, and he'll learn another something about the job. 😉

Our shipment of more than 200 glow necklaces has arrived. We are ready for Halloween. We figure kids get enough candy. Mothers are glad to see something not sweet and edible going into the bags. The police love the idea of the necklaces to make the kids more visible at night, and have complimented us for it. (Sometimes the streetlights aren't on.)
We'll have to get our "La Bamba" skeleton out...last year people were dancing in our driveway and street! 🍁

Oh yeah, I need to get the November family birthday cards out and ready to mail.

Well, I guess I'll consider some breakfast, and get my day going.

I love your necklace idea so much! I bought a bunch for my daycare kids, the ones I have and the old ones who come by...
I also told my sons and they got them for their kids. Next year I will remember and get more. Wish we could see the skeleton!

Good rainy morning! It is coming down and that is a wonderful sound to type to....
I am not doing daycare today. I had parents pick up by noon yesterday (the ones that had to go into work) and three didn't come at all. I felt so yucky...this morning I feel better but not 100%.
I have a sign up on the door saying Closed today, just in case anyone from the State comes by for a visit. It is dark and locked up, but you never know when they will show up for a check of your facility.
Donna, I wonder if I stayed up later if I would get a surge of energy at 9:00? I slept in today till 6:00am and I feel so much better for it. But not as good as you do!

Oh, Donna, I am making candy corn white chocolate chip cookies for our church Halloween party Saturday night. I made them once before; not sure if I talked about them here.
For the cake walk, they are asking for cakes, cookies and cupcakes. I signed up for the cookies because most people were signing up for cakes.
I will check back and see what all is going on...
