good morning

time is flying by...just these 3 little days left in Sept...darn....

up and ready to go to work today... Karen bought beets to can.. they are in my downstairs kitchen. I will get them started to cook shortly... then she will be over to finish the peeling, cutting, heating in pickling juice. can ,seal and smile at the finished jars. (and just maybe go get some more?.)..

so better get bed made, the few dishes washed and head for the downstairs.. see you all later... oh.. coffee, donuts over on the bar..help yourself.

Good morning..Cori is behaving very well this morning.. She got in bed with me at some point and went to sleep almost under me! For once I had to get her out of bed...after she had her food I went back to bed...and I didn't want to get up and she came back in and got back in the bed with me and messed with me until I got back up! Good Girl! I think she must have been making up for yesterday and last night...I came in from my meeting last night and with in 5 minutes of being home she knocked my water mug over...and got on the dress 4 different times before we went to bed last night...

Work today Errands this afternoon....church tonight.

Good SUNNY Morning! It's a bit nippy out there, but a light sweat jacket solved that problem. Almost missed the bus yesterday, so today we were out there a little early...just in case.

Yesterday was good. My energy level was lower than I would have liked, so what I did do, I drug through. After pie delivery, I went and got a hair cut & perm...I feel good again! Mixed up some pie dough and rolled out one tray of it so I have some crusts in the freezer. Around 6pm Greg called & ask if I'd like to make 4 pies for today. Hey, I'll take whatever business I can get at this point. Took Blaise to the library.

This morning I got up and made 4 apple dumplings. Combine 2 different recipes and used 4 different kinds of apples. This is an experiment for me. Greg ask if I made them and I haven't, so this morning those guys at the stand our my guinea pigs. I don't think they'll argue. Then it's onto see my PCP for a follow up appt. Will make a few stops after I'm done there. Not sure what I'll get into once I get home. Now depending on the weather, I may go with my Mom & SIL to a band festival so I can see my niece perform.

Good Morning to all...

Maye good luck with the beets, my Mom loved pickled beets, me, not so much, I love to use them to make pickled eggs though...Hope this means that you are in less and less pain..Feels good to feel good after what you have been through, or at least that is how I am...

Beth, I have learned with these two to always use a covered beverage container, I prefer that to having to buy a new keyboard, which I had to do, and ruined papers, books, etc. because of them being 'nosey' and spilling things. I figure they are never going to learn to stay out of things because that is what cats do, they are curious...

My plan for the day is to get prepared for a Drs. appt. in the early afternoon, about a 40 min. drive, and I have the hubby's truck, Dodge Ram instead of my vehicle, and it is a rainy, dreary day out...Last night I fixed smoked ham hocks, green beans and potatoes cooked together, and made Marie Callendar's reduced fat cornbread, hubby loved it, I thought it pretty darn good myself..

Well off to get this day started, with the dreariness and rain I would prefer to stay in and read but that can't happen, so have a great day one and all..

good morning here! the garbage trucks have already rolled by a couple of times and I will be bringing my cans back in before daycare parents have to drive up.
I love beets on my salad, but I have never made them. just bought them in a can or served them to myself at the salad bar...so glad you are able to do more, Maye.
My niece is having a baby today, C-section. I went to her wedding last year. The baby has some issues and will need surgery. Non-life threatening but major cosmetic surgery. She was the one who worked at Epcot and so did her husband, but he got a position offered back in Utah where he was from. And where there are two super medical centers: Univ of Utah medical center where she will have the baby and Primary Children's hospital. The problem is lymphangioma (not sure I spelled it correctly), and any prayers and good thoughts for this baby and her parents today will be so appreciated.

House is cool this morning...had to grab a light blanket last night. This evening is our baseball game but first i have to meet Sierra at the repair shop to drop her car. I don't know why she can't do it alone but I do have to cash a check anyway so have to make the trip. Need to run the vac in the kitchen so if I have to drag it out might as well use it. No cooking for me tonight! Cards won big last night so maybe I will see a winner tonight. According to the weather guys I may see my breath!

Good morning....
I woke about 2 this morning, til about 3:30a. I might as well get a kitten so I'll have an excuse. I was up again about 6a.
It's light out, but not too bright out. We have chances of light rain through Sunday, now. Temps are hanging at 90° through the weekend.
No plans for today.....breathing is a must, but everything else is left to ambition and chance. 😄
Got my tea, will be thinking of breakfast soon.

Maye, I love beets. Used to love them pickled, but lost that taste some time ago. I do get pickled beets for E occasionally, and use the juice for pickled eggs which he loves. Yesterday I opened a jar of sweet pickles, ate two very small ones .... In half an hour my feet were swelled up. So, nothing brined is in my diet these days....brine is high in salt. 🙄
Beth, definitely get yourself a spill proof mug!

I have a couple of unspillable containers but they are for me as I knock things over. Found them at the drug store.

Hot and muggy here but I don't turn the airconditioner on till I go down for lunch. At least I try not too but sometimes I do.

"Muggy" (living near large bodies of water, generally) makes the heat more uncomfortable, doesn't it?

I remember when we were changing planes in OH (from MI) how the high-80's temp felt like they were debarking in He!! (general groaning of these passengers). When we got to PHX in 100°+ heat, they thought it was heavenly cool, in comparison. 😂
