  • Sunday morning, but no sunrise here...

Good Morning, hope everyone has a nice day planned no matter what the choice.

We are hoping to get the pool closed today if it doesn't rain.

We went to Red Lobster last night for dinner, I can never eat everything for sure so I brought a goodie box home as did the hubby, will go good with a piece of steak for supper, and we brought home the biscuits also. Our 34th Wedding Anniversary is Monday so we decided to celebrate this weekend, hubby ask if I would like to go out for dinner...So sweet.. Then when we got home it was time for Ohio State football, great game.

Went to the pool place yesterday to get what we needed to put in the pool to close it, and also to Big Lots, always find 'stuff' there I want to buy...and I did, I bought a Shark vacuum and it works GREAT!! Been needing a new sweeper and just could not justify buying a Dyson when Shark got better reviews...I paid a hefty price for an Oreck years ago and said I would never do that again...

Will get off of here after finishing my coffee and reading the news, so sad and scary with the explosion in Manhattan, we are not safe people...

Have a great day one and all...

Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God

Good morning...yesterday was a pretty good day..got my stuff done before mom and dad got here...then mom tried to get a hold of my sister and her family with out success. My oldest niece was in a volleyball tournament. They were still playing so my parents and I went out for supper. We ended up having breakfast for supper at Bob Evans. It was all really good.

Before mom and dad got here I finally was able to get a hair cut. Feels so much better than it did. Also looks much better.

Cori was very nice and let her papa pet her last night...and then mom was up at 4 this morning and cori actually sat in the chair with her. When it comes to her mom she is being a brat this morning...woke me around 5 chewing on me.

Bible study this morning...no plans for the rest of the day...my parents and youngest niece will be leaving for vacation while I am at Bible Study.

I am not sure if I remembered to tell you all but on Friday my job coach person came...she will be coming once a month...and when she asked my direct supervisor if he had any issues he said no everything is perfect and I am great worker. said these things in front of me.

    Good morning everyone.

I am now in Fort Wayne. It was a 4 1/2 hour drive to here from Pontiac, which I thought would be less than that. However, when you are on a 2 lane highway, and a bunch of towns to go through, you can't get much speed up. When I did hit the 4 lane part of the highway about 70 miles out, then I had a cop on my tail. He followed me all the way to about 27 miles from Fort Wayne. But I did get here safely, and that is what counts.

Today I get a rest day as we are going to the Johnny Appleseed Festival. From what the family has told me, I think it will be a fun outing. My niece also said that she would pick me up one afternoon before she picks up her daughter from school, and then we would go to the Zoo. I love Zoos. Sounds like my great-niece wants to go to the "African" part so we can ride in a ski-lift. Now my niece knows I don't like heights, but I can't disappoint my great either, so it looks like I had better put on a "brave suit" and get on that ski-lift.

Time for me to hit the shower and the get some breakfast. Everyone have a great day.
Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured.

      Good Morning.

Sharon, Red Lobster is always our destination, it seems. John gets the same thing ALL the time, and I move around on the menu.

beth, wonderful news about your job coach's comments about you. So glad all is going well. (even cori) LOL

jostoy, no way would I ever get on a ski-lift at this point in my life. Rode too many growing up in Utah. Have a great time!

Nothing to report. OH! I did make an apple pie yesterday and put some of this coconut rum in it. I don't think in my lifetime I will ever use up this liquor, but when a friend asks you to make a cake, you buy the ingredients and make a cake. The pie was AWESOME, BTW.

Off to church. Have a lovely Sunday!

It was my supervisor that made those comments to the job coach!

Cori is being a super bad kitty at the moment....can't find her anyplace...usually if I call to her she will come out but she isn't doing that this time....I will look for her when I come home from Bible study. I think she was exploring and got scared because she heard dad in the kitchen. not sure

        Good morning.
Looks like you've got the day off to a good start. I haven't brought in the paper yet, much less have breakfast.
Looks like a hot day ahead, as we hit 100° today.
E may or may not want to go out shopping today. I'll go for the exercise. Might get a meal out afterwards.

        Beth, great compliments at work!!!
Joystoy, I don't dare take those ski-lift rides these days. You need to move fast getting on and off, and I can't move quite that fast any more. And I don't want them to jerk me around as "helping me". I'd surely have a fall.

The pie sounds scrumptious, Elaine. Try the liquor in a Bundt cake with apple or orange or pineapple in it.

To everyone, whatever you're doing, have a great day. 😄

Did not get home until dark yesterday. We had a wonderful day and my sister found her clothes in the first store with one try on session. Once that chore was done the rest of the day was ours. Spent a long time critiquing some of the Christmas trees and decorations out...what is with a pink tree or one with feathers? Jon and Andrew drained the pool yesterday and will take it down today to do a better job of leveling next year. We had it all leveled and he decided to turn it and not relevel it. They trimmed back some shrubs, cleaned up some piles and when I got home he had a fire in the pit but Andrew was across the street at the neighbors fire. Kate ask what we were doing for Jon's birthday this week and I had forgotten...bad mom! So I am hastily planning a meal for tomorrow. His bday is Tuesday but Sierra comes on Monday after class. i was going to fix a nice meal but Drew came in and decided hot dogs and hamburgers made a better celebratory meal. Works out for me because I have an appointment at noon tomorrow back home and grilling requires less work for me. Kate will come straight from work and both kids will be here so looks like we hare having a birthday party tomorrow..his 40th. My baby is 40...holy cow what does that make me? Pretty darn old! I had a Bob Evans breakfast yesterday Beth, yummy. I need to grocery shop today for our party tomorrow and buy a cake. Bought new fally/wintery pillow covers for the couch yesterday and they are so colorless after the limes and bright yellows I had this summer. May have to go buy one with a big bright bird or something to plop in the middle for a little color. Grocery shopping for our party tomorrow and need to run the vac because someone tracked in mud. Suppose to be hot all week and that is good. It was hot the week Jon was born. I remember because we had put in a new furnace and the a/c wasn;t working correctly. Who says you forget misery? I remember that! Have a wonderful day everyone.

Oh, Maxie! We can't even start thinking of how old our kids are....at least not at the beginning of the day. And for the couch, maybe one pillow some shade of Autumn red ( burgundy?...) in a shiny fabric to give you some color? I am just picturing what I see at Target or Penneys. Or a throw...Stop me any time.
It is a sunny Sunday morning here. Brownies are out of the oven and the house smells Heavenly!
Elaine, you reminded me of a recipe ingredient I bought one time. Grand Marnier! Holy cow! Small ( but pretty) bottle for 25.00! But my new bread pudding recipe called for it...and my favorite beef burgundy ( neither Siri or my autocorrect seems able to help me spell the French name which I always use for it) from Williams Sonoma calls for a Bottle of Pinot Noir. Kind of pricey, too, but such a good dish.
So, hoping you post your recipe and pass the bottle
Beth, I love when management compliments in public! ( corrects in private!). I was in my Salvation Army store yesterday looking for vintage linens ( didn't find any), but thought of you. I saw a woman straightening things and made sure I told her how nicely set up the department was. So easy to find something positive to say.
The apple festival sounds like something I would love, Jostoy! Besides always looking for Empires, my favorites, I go for caramel apples and apple fritters. Apple butter is a given on my list! Hope you enjoy and hang on tight to that ski lift. Is it one you have to hop off like in ski season or can they stop and let you get off without jumping?
Yesterday at the Meet the Candidates was Becky's dream day. Photo with each of them. The guy running for State Assembly asked us to take a selfie with him. I have no idea how we looked, but for sure Becky smiled all day! And, two people there who are members of the local committee have close contacts in the Poli Sci dept at Chico State where she will be transferring next semester. During the guy who is running for Congress ( against the incumbent) a person walked up to the group and started interrupting. It was apparent he had some mental issues, but I was impressed with how the candidate handled himself and the interrupter. I was trying to look calm but I as pretty close to where the guy was standing and I am pretty sure my face showed me concern. One of the guys in charge walked over and got him quiet.
There were other things going on in the park, so lots of interesting people.
We are gong to a friend's parents ( the one I always seem to go lately). Her granddaughter has been having yard sales to earn money for their pet shelter. Two little dogs need surgery. Yesterday this 8 year old earned 500.00 that she is taking to the shelter this morning.
Just saw the time. I better get my hair and make up and then dress for Church.
Have a great day! JoG, hope you get to eat out!

Afternoon all! It's a cloudy humid on here and yesterday was more of the same.

Yesterday was good. Made a couple pots of soup and baked 2 loaves of bread and 14 pies. Got that all done & time for a quick shower before everyone started arriving. Becca came home for a quick overnight visit and my Mom and her friend Dorothy came to play cards with us. We had soup & bread for supper then played cards. My brother & SIL stopped by on their way to pick up my niece from Aunt Maye's granddaughter's 16th birthday party. We had pie & ice cream.

After church & delivering pies, we came home and I made waffles for a late breakfast, then Becca & I took a nice nap. Becca headed back to her place and I've just been monkeying around on this computer. I've actually taken a day of rest. I only have one order for tomorrow and I'll do that in the morning.

              Have a good one all!
