  • Good morning Friday 9/16

    Good morning...TGIF! I still don't feel real great..better than this time yesterday. Working and volunteering are all that I have on my agenda for today...Then home to rest.

    I didn't make it the whole shift at work yesterday...got to feeling really horrible..went to the doctor's office they were able to get me in with the nurse practioner she was really really nice...her nurse was even nicer...got a shot for my head ache antibotics for my sinus infection...finally got home taking the bus to do anything takes longer...layed down to take a nap and cori kept coming to check on me and then she climbed up on the bed with me and was asleep in 5 minutes then when I woke this morning she was back in the bed with me.

    Its supposed to storm today..cori hates storms...it thundered earlier when we were still in bed and she wrapped her two front paws around me.

    I am so thankful for an understanding boss that let me leave to go to the doctors..I don't know if I need a note or not so I got one just incase.

    Good Morning to all.

    Beth, glad you got some meds for your sinuses and hopefully the shot for your headache worked...I have one cat that is terrified of storms and the other one is not bothered by them at all.

    Maxi please pass the Geritol around because yesterday was one of those days for me, did not get much done at all, told the hubby last night this week has been a bust because I have had zero energy...felt rather lazy in fact...I guess everyday can't be a busy one....I also have a load of towels in the dryer that have been there a few days, today is the day they get folded and put away. I did get all the sheets and towels done that we used in the motorhome last weekend, that should count, LOL..and have managed to cook supper every night...

    I think today I am just going to get out of the house just 'because', thinking Hobby Lobby is a good place to start...also a place called Gabe's...need to buy more towels and washcloths for the motorhome for our trip to Disney next month...also some 'bins' to sit on the dash of the motorhome for clothing...I also want to pick up a few more movies for the girls to watch on the drive down...

    I am in the process of using up what we have in the freezers so each day is a stand and look and decide on supper...same with the cabinets, looking at dates and using things I already have...and it is a lot, the freezer is running over...anything that is out dated is being thrown away...With only the two of us things do not get used as they once did, and somethings you buy at the store are just way to big and too much for two people...

    Well I leave you with:'Think positive and positive things will come your way'....smile and most others will smile back at you...the attitude you put out is the attitude you get back...Have a great day one and all...

    Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God

    Good Morning.

    I do not need Geritol today. Tree frog woke me at 4a. I thought it was in the dining room, it was so loud, but finally figured it was outside. So i was up, might as well clean the bathrooms and steam the floors.
    Now I have towels washing.

    Got my new specs yesterday and we went to Red Lobster. Probably the best meal I have had there, and I have had a BUNCH of meals there.

    Today making homemade pizza. I hope it will be as amazing as I am hoping. Hate frozen pizza and have to drive to town for an order out. Too much trouble.

    Hope you all have a super day!

    Glad someone else is not moving at normal speed either,Sharon. Ran the vac and folded that load of clothes. Made a huge breakfast for supper and they ate like pigs. This morning it is rainy and thundering and I need to run home to go to the bank and get gas while I am there. If it rains hard enough on the way over I won;t have to stop and wash the dust off the car. Tomorrow I am meeting my sister and niece for breakfast and then we are spending the day shopping. I need fall wreaths for the doors and she needs something to wear to a wedding...my niece wants a trip through Bed Bath and Beyond and then run through Home and Garden or whatever they call it now and look at Christmas trees so we will have a full day then have a late lunch. Maybe that is the geritol I need! It has gotten a lot darker since I have been up! Looks like a full fledged storm is rolling in so better go. Early dismissal for Andrew so that throws my schedule off...

      Good SUNNY Morning!

      Well yesterday I had to dig deep for needed energy. After delivering the pies, I went to Bible Study for the morning. Didn't get home until noon and had a bazillion things to get done before 3:30pm. Got my pies made...only 7...and then started cleaning. All floors got mopped or swept. Bathroom a light slap & tickle, and Blaise's crap put in his room. Found my dining room table, wiped it, and actually put a table cloth on it. Friends of ours from Bradford are in town for their son's wedding tomorrow. When they were taking cookies to the cater's, they weren't that far from us, so they came for a visit and dinner. It was great to see them. They were the ones that took care of our house while it was sitting empty & up for sale those 3 years. Deb & I cooked dinner together. Nothing fancy. I then let them pick a pie to slice & have as dessert. Jim picked the peach nectarine one, which I had never tasted....oh my word...that's a GREAT pie! They left around 6:30 to go run some more wedding errands for their son.

      Nothing big on my agenda today except baking. Think I'll only make 6-8 pies for tomorrow and then I want to bake two carrot cakes for the freezer and make a PB pie for the freezer also, so that when the restaurant calls, I'll be ahead of the game. My work is dwindling so I'm thinking of ways to get more business so I don't have to go out into the real work world. I think next Monday I'm going to take some sample desserts over to Aunt Maye's SIL company. I talked to Shawna's boyfriend last night (Aunt M's granddaughter) who works for the cafeteria, and they don't serve desserts...yet. The worst they can say is no.

      Maxie...did you get those sheets on the bed? I read your post from yesterday this morning & it gave me a good laugh. Great way to start the day. Sharon....I find when I bust butt for a couple days or a week in a row, I then have to have a day or so to get some energy back. Last week was crazy for you.

      Have a good one all!

        Put the sheets on this morning because Andrew made a crack. I will not have a 10 year old questioning my housekeeping skills! I also ran the vac and folded that load of laundry AND put it away. I am totally caught up on the chores from the beginning of the week and now have to start the chores from the middle and end of the week. Progress is slow moving around here...

      hey sunny morning for Donna and I... yea!.

      however, like the rest of you ... still hunting for the energy !...
      the steady pain from this post- herpes neuralgia has left up... Thank you Lord.. now I have this lingering really sore spot,but tylenol does help it.. its like a bad bad bruise. I have a really snug panty girdle that I have been wearing and the support up against that spot is good... but it sure has sapped the energy ...glad nobody is coming to visit or stay.. ...

      Maxie, I have an allergy to perfumes and smells and never get to wander thru bed bath and beyond anymore.. enjoy yourself
      Bethina, glad you went straight to Dr.. nip the sinus stuff early
      Elaine ,a good meal at Red Lobster?...since I don't do much seafood . we never go there.. makes you feel good when you get something really good at a restaraunt..
      Donna.. Hopefully . one of these days we will get our couple hours together.!.

      ok time to get something done... laundry. sweeper. mop... a plan.. (bathroom done right after morning shower.)

      see you later

      ~~~~~~~~~~~hi fellow Rounders. whats up?
      Take it one Day , one step, at a time.. cause that's all we really have.
        Friday energizes me, so Good Morning and ready to roll. I have water going outside, spaghetti sauce cooking in the kitchen and just got a text that one child is home sick.
        Although her mother made sure to say that she seems ok this morning after throwing up twice in the night! I just texted back I was glad to hear she would be resting at home. I am not going to say to bring her and hope for the best! There is some stomach virus going around town.
        It is getting warmer. My air actually turned on yesterday. Upper 90's today and through the weekend.
        Yesterday I heard that another friend had passed away suddenly Wednesday. Anytime I have mentioned my CPR requirement it was her husband who I took it from. Carol was the secretary at school when I worked in kindergarten and was the one who organized the sick day donation ( teachers and classified staff donated their days off) so I could stay home with pay when our daughter was in a car accident. As a couple she and her husband were active, going to their cabin and hiking, snowmobiling, and no sign of any poor health. Her daughter said she was happy that she told her mom everyday she loved her.
        Tomorrow has a To Do list attached to it that starts at 8:30 and ends at a reception 7:00-9:00. I will show up at 7:00 and leave by 7:30!
        Sunday I am invited to my friends parents house for another family gathering. Her grandma will be up from the Bay Area and her family is like my own.
        Hope you all enjoy your day.
        Tell your loved ones how much they mean to you.
        You all sure make my life better!
          Blaise was home "sick" all day Wednesday. He threw up on my bed around 4:30am and was running a fever. By 9:30am he was back to being his normal self. Weird. If he was in HS, I would have taken him to school.
        Good morning.
        Overslept til 7 again. I feel like such a lazybones! But we had a pretty full day yesterday.
        My morning was a leisurely breakfast and a trip to my hairdresser's. It felt so good to get my hair done. E found a barber nearby that he really liked...a place that normally takes reservations for haircuts, but the guy wasn't busy and took him. Posh? 😄 We had lemonade and Harvy Wallbamger cake at my hairdresser's. Yum! She has free goodies like that for customers. I'd like to bake an Apricot Brandy cake for her.
        Then off we went to visit a Target in the area, that E was impressed with. So we browsed quite a while. Yes, we did a bit of shopping. Pantry staples, and some Halloween stuff. The store was larger than ours.
        Afterwards, we went to a nearby Bistro for lunch. Mostly to see what a bistro was like. Nothing special. Foods with fancy names. Most entrees had garlic aioli, and I had them leave it off mine. Huge cheeseburger, though. I ate half...it was a meal. (The other half was supper, and I didn't quite finish it. Far too much.). E had pastrami, and he, too, took home half his sandwich.
        My hip had begun to give me little shooting pains where I had my last biopsy. I'd done a lot of walking. So we went home.
        By then it was about 4p.m., and I'm surprised how E enjoys finding new and nicer stores in that area.
        So DD (mother of the bride-to-be) had left a call. E mostly talked to her, even about what one wears to a cruise-ship's wedding. She didn't like the idea of my wearing a muumuu, so I guess I'll see if I can find an A-line dress of some sort.
        E may need a new sports coat. IF THE BRIDES COLORS ARE WHITE-BLACK-RED, CAN I WEAR A BLACK DRESS TO THE WEDDING? (I forgot to ask her. But apparently she doesn't think a muumuu is good enough. Bah!)
        I have one slip-on plain place dress with an embroidered neckline, I might use in a pinch, but I will still look for a similar one in another color. I also need new clodhoppers (shoes - I wear a much larger size with feet swelling, ergo, clodhoppers). Oh, the perils of living with a colostomy, which won't be reversed very soon after all. 😝
        OK, no big plans today. Some home chores to get done.
        Beth, I'm glad you saw the doctor right away. Getting the note for work is always a good idea. I bet Cori looked so cute hugging you.
        Boffler, I like your words of wisdom. Thanks!
        Elaine, you have tree frogs? They are the cutest alien-looking things, but I've never heard their sounds. I just got a locking box with a 3-D picture of a trio of tree frogs on top...they move when you tilt it. I haven't made homemade pizza in a while...yummy!!!
        Maxi, have fun with your sister while she's there.
        Cookie, take advantage of the break to renew your energy. The baking sounds delish!
        Maye, the energy will return. Your body's way of telling you so. Our BBB doesn't have all those perfumes...or else I don't smell them.
        Surely others have posted before I finished this.
        To everyone, have a great day, may good things settle on you today.
          As I was coming in the door from delivering the pies, the phone was ringing. It was the restaurant. So I've spent the morning baking 2 carrot cakes, 2 PB pies, and a Kentucky Derby pie. One cake & one pie are going into the freezer for next time they order.
          Paula, the cruise is about 30 days away. We board the ship on the 17th. On the 13th I get my hair specially done with a shine solution. On the 14th I have to get my labs done at the Cancer Center, and I'll probably choose to get the blood infusion (doc gave me the option) for an energy boost. There's plenty of walking and stair climbing to be done on the ship, as well as getting to and from it. Then we'll start driving from the cancer center and stay in N Phx for the night, then head to Long Beach in the morning. We'll have a night's stay in a hotel near the ship area.
          I'll have to pack extra things to leave in the car, because when we return from the cruise, E planned other sightseeing for the next few days before returning home. We plan to have dinner on the Queen Mary on one of the days.
          It's going to be quite a vacation for us.
          It would be fun shopping with you, Paula. The sales women are not particularly honest or helpful in assisting my choices.
          Between my "lump" from the splenic surgery, and now the awkwardness of the colostomy to cover, they are all afraid they'll insult me. But my body will never again have the feminine lines it used to. Ergo, I find an A-line slip-over dress is my best accommodation.....if I can find one in this day of nearly-naked fashion.
          I will probably head to the SAS (San Antonio Shoe store) for the shoes I need, as I can get adjustable styles in quality shoes there. But I need to be refitted, due to the swelling I have to deal with now.
          Thanks for thinking of me.
          😄
          Beth, I prefer to try on dresses. Sizing on women's clothing is so crazy, from one brand to another, I really don't want the time wasted in returning stuff, be it size or general fit. As I said, I have two major drawbacks in clothing, my side "lump" and my colostomy bag, both courtesy of my doctors. E says my black slip-on dress should do fine. So that's one less expense. Now to drag him out for some shoe-shopping. 😄
              Maye, yes, my oldest daughter. I've gotten done with anger toward her in the last 30 years. I know she likes being in control of everything and everyone, but I've come to ignore that, too. E was the one talking directly with her and assured her I'd be dressed appropriately. I showed him the dress I intend to wear, and he's good with it. I *will* be dressed comfortably, and there's nothing inappropriate about the dress. It just won't have lace or bling on it. I have diamond earring studs, and my wedding band, plus my hair will have had a professional "shine" in it....bling enough. I will feel good about myself. Nobody will want to be rude about it, I'm sure. I even plan to sit with the MIL who will over-bling, I'm sure. Jewish/Russian, you betcha. DD can think what she wants to, even ignore me, it doesn't matter to me. We paid a bundle for our room in the cruise, because none of her siblings can afford that trip. GD should be glad to have more family with her. We may have to help them with some of the expenses because the bridal couple, her sister, brother, and DD haven't saved up quite enough.
              Did I mention the couple wanted the cruise because the bride isn't converting and doesn't want a rabbi, and the MIL is VERY adamant about not having a priest or JP. What's left that is legal is a ship's captain....which isn't here in AZ!
              This will be so interesting, won't it?
              Thank you for championing me, Maye. I appreciate it a lot.
              I'm too old to let any more of the kids' crap upset me. The joke is on them now. While I won't stick out like a sore thumb,
              I will do and wear and say pretty much what I want, in the long run.
