  • June 4 ~ National Hug Your Cat Day!

Also in the list was National Cheese Day. I like that better, although I have already hugged our cat this morning.

It is 5:30a, and I have already cleaned 1 bathroom, even painted a bit of the baseboard where a nail was showing.
Washed a load of new pants I bought John.
Made a batch of Rice Krispies Treats, and I laid out a pound of bacon on cookie sheets to cook in the oven when John gets up.
Gee. Maybe my day is over! But I do want to make that Granny Cake recipe I have been seeing on FB.

Well, whatever, I am finally feeling a bit like myself. Thank goodness.

Hope you all have a super Saturday.

Yes it is cute. This morning I wanted to hug my cat also but not in a good way, his constant meowing has put me in a foul mood to start my day.

Good Morning, it is Saturday isn't it? This week has been a busy one, way to many Drs. appts. and test, LOL And all the other 'stuff' that goes with everyday life...
Elaine I also had new clothes to wash, seems I am forever more trying to fill my closet back up, I even hang everyday t-shirts up because I don't like to seem 'crinkles'

Told the hubby we needed to put our boat for sale and buy a smaller one, he did and low and behold someone came and looked at it last night and today they want to take it out before buying it...works for me, haven't used it since we left IL. The one we have is a flote deck boat, similar to a pontoon, with just the two of us, just want something smaller and easier to take places. With me now being allergic to the sun will have to be real careful...

I have been trying to find a straw hat, large brim, with the string that hangs down you can adjust to hold it on your head, can't seem to find one anywhere. I remember years ago my Mom had one she always used when gardening and mowing and such...

It is very humid out and the high mold spore count and pollen count is keeping me inside more than I would like....but this to shall pass..

My scan I had showed a spot on my left lower lobe in my lung and a nodule on my left thyroid so there will be a Pet Scan done on my lung and an ultrasound done on my thyroid to see what they are and what if anything needs done..So my blood pressure was a bit high yesterday at the Drs. office and my stomach was doing flip flops and keeping me in the bathroom..I called and told hubby the results after I got home...I feel a bit left out and jealous at times because when someone in his family has a problem he takes off work and is with them, and is calling them etc., I guess over the years I have just been way to strong a woman and he thinks I don't need anyone..I really don't I guess, but it would be nice if he asked... Or made me feel like I was number one in his life, 'his family' always comes before me..Don't get me wrong, he is a wonderful man and would do anything for me, if I asked...

Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God

We have those hats in Illinois. Come for a visit and get 1.

Also hope that the next tests show nothing to be concerned about. You will definitely be in my prayers.

Good Morning! It's a cloudy one, but not rain supposedly. Yesterday was a beautiful summer day.

Yesterday was a busy one, but I got almost everything accomplished that I had planned to do. The only thing not done was the price sign for today. Baked 6 pies. I used the farm fresh eggs for my Lemon Meringue pie and those dark yolks made a beautiful yellow pie w/o food coloring...not that I normally use food coloring. Made my sloppy joes & that was lunch.

Becca went to load her Escape after backing it up to the sidewalk, and the hatch wouldn't open. She JUST had it open before backing up. I called our mechanic and he said bring it over. When we went out, she tried it again & by golly it opened. Shut it & tried again & it wouldn't open. DUMB! Took it over and found out the little motor was getting too hot & once it cooled, it would let the hatch open again. Would you believe they don't have a second way to open those things except with the fob. DUMB DUMB DUMB!!!!! He left the panel off & showed her how to open it manually if it totally dies before he gets to fix it next Thursday. In the meantime, we came back home & got her Escape loaded and she's moving to the apt. She'll only be about 15 minutes from work from up there vs 50 minutes from here. I'll miss her company.

Kathy & I went to the funeral home last night. Started at 7pm and figured we'd just zip in & right back out. We got there right at 7pm. We had to wait an HOUR to get through the long line. Donna & Doug were separated and I guess things are not happy happy. Donna & their daughter Rachel weren't there last night. We did get to talk to their son Luke. He's a sweet kid. Doug shot himself and the family blames Donna and Luke feels the same way from what we've heard. Sad.

Today is my last concession stand. My brother Ray is going with me again. It's suppose to be cloudy, though I hope the sun peeks out a little. Got lots of drinks! Becca & Corky will be leaving in the next hour and Kathy is suppose to be coming to be with Blaise. She's bringing a friend with a child to go swimming.

Best get busy......have a good one all!

Sharon...sorry to hear the scans weren't all clear.

      Good morning everyone.

Today I will sand the rough areas of the boards I bought yesterday to replace my corner boards on the shed at the Lake. Also bought the paint yesterday to paint the shed after it gets a new roof next week. Now you can see why I'll be gone most of next week. Have the electrician also coming to run the electrical line to the camper. After he gets everything up to code, then I can have the Electrical Company come and put in the meter. Also hope that I have time to hook up the septic tank. Will buy those supplies after I measure the distance from camper to septic tank.

Already have a load of laundry in and a roast in the crock pot. Will be having roast, potatoes, carrots, and onions for my dinner tomorrow. I have left-over fish from the Kiwanis fish fry last night. Couldn't even get 1 whole sandwich eaten, but was it ever good. Of course I love fish anyway.

Well time to get up from here and get busy. Hope all have a wonderful day.
Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured.

          Good morning.
          Love today's cat graphics!
So many of you are already busy. One of these days I hope to get myself doing some things again. For now, E sees to it my "work" is minimal because "I need to rest while going through this". But I still have PT days to remind me that I'm quite a bit below normal in my strength. Looking back, I now see that the weakness gradually set in since last fall, and wasn't caught by the doctors til early this year. Oh well, many exercises I can do while sitting, or in bed. Floor exercises don't work for me, as I can't get back up with any ease at all. I do need to get those exercise bands, though. I think I've seen those at Bed Bath & Beyond, and I have coupons!!!! Theirs never really expire, so I have a lot,

Today should be a scorcher. The heat should peak at 111° today. Tomorrow it begins to drop a few days at a time til it settles at a simple 100° for several days. Still no rain in sight. Although the monsoon will start "officially" in less than 2 weeks (on my birthday now), it doesn't mean the rains will hit. It's been traditionally a rain beginning July 4 or 5. But I really wouldn't mind if Mother Nature would rain on my birthday. I'd love it!

Well, not much here to add. Not too much happening here. Well, an asteroid did hit in the outskirts of Tucson about 4 a.m. the other morning. It fell in some little town I never heard of. The news said its th 2nd time ever, to happen. I'm sure gem hunters are scouring the area for what they can get. I have a necklace with a piece of meteor on it. It's polished up and pretty, IMHO. I imagine the craft fairs this fall will have some nice meteor jewelry offerings.

Ive had my mocha, so am contemplating breakfast now. I need to sort my closet, a good chore for today. But I'd like a quick run to BB&B today. A stop at Target might be nice, but may prove too much after BB&B.

Hope you all have a great day. ☀️

Sharon, I hope your scans turn out to be nothing to worry about. You have more than enough on your plate as it is. 😟
If it turns out to be a concern, I hope it's easily wiped away for you. 🌹

Elaine you have done a day's worth of work in my world! Wow!
Sharon, prayers and good thoughts for you. Always.
My friend is in the hospital again. The one we had the barbecue at her parents house, Barbara, in my profile photo on Facebook. So, I will be cooking for her husband and son and going to the Farmer's market for both of us today.
My granddaughter is 15 today! For once all the gifts arrived on time or early, too. Can't wait to see them next month.
I have to run...please take care and have a good day.
JoG, you win the heat ! We will only ( ?) reach 104 today.

Good rainy day...seems we cannot string a couple of sunny days together anymore. The results on my knee is I have a tear in the back of my knee where the calf muscle comes in. Not severe and will heal without surgery....worst case is PT if it doesn't heal quickly...best case is I got my anti-inflammatory pills refilled. It still hurts and is swollen but I now know what it is. Jon has decided to take the kids tubing around the Rolla Mo area and I am thinking I might go also. It will be during his vacation June 21. Then my sister called and invited me to vacation with her entire family June 18 in North Carolina along the ocean. I would love to do both but have just about decided to spend the time with my own grands on the river even if it is for a couple of days on a river opposed to a week on the beach. Baseball last night again and we won! Good game, 12 - 9, but we did not get home until 11:30. No towns around here sponsor little league teams so we must travel back to my home area which is 40 minutes to an hours travel . But we do it and sometimes son does not have a smile on his face because he gets up at 4:30 every morning. But Andrew is so darn cute in that uniform. Nothing much going on around here, laundry needs to be done and floors mopped. Should grocery shop but will probably not do any of that. Boffler sorry the scans are troublesome and hope all is well. Jo, you sure are handling this chemo! You (we) are all a bunch of strong women in this group. Have a good Saturday.

                    Elaine, my middle daughter asks:
Aawww...but if you don't have a cat and you are lactose intolerant.....do you hug a cheese stick??
                    😆😆😆

                      Aloha all!

Just have a feral cat friend, and if I tried to hug him he would panic and scratch and bite me. But he will rub against my legs. His way of hugging I guess.

                      Everyone sounds quite busy today.

Boffler, could you just find yourself a big hat and tie a scarf over the top and then tie it under your chin. I have a floppy hat that I sewed a pair of shoe strings to the inside and that works too.

                      Have a good one all.
