  • June First ~ National Say Something Nice Day

I had a laundry list of national holiday themes to choose from, but I picked the best one. LOL

Gully washer last night. 2.5" of rain in about an hour. Nephew was baling hay. Never a good thing to happen. TV reception was knocked out during the ballgame, but we watched on iPad.

If any of you remember TL from years ago, he gave us his meatloaf recipe, and I have used it religiously since. I needed 1 can of tomato sauce and didn't have any but did have a can of Sloppy Joe sauce.
Best meatloaf I ever made. It makes the BEST cold leftover sandwiches.

Well, better get the day started and locate the cat. Haven't seen him yet this morning.

    Hugs, Everyone.

Good morning Elaine and everyone else who pops into our cyber world home.

Today I will spread some grub killer for my friend, then home to clean house I hope. Have to get my shower first so better get a move on.

    Have a good day everyone.
Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured.

Good Morning Elaine, so good to see you this morning...was watching the news last night about all the rain, destruction and death in Texas from all the flooding and such...so very sad.

Was TL his name or was that abbreviated? I'm not sure of who your talking about...could you post the recipe again please...I am always trying new recipes for meatloaf, just like different tasting ones sometimes.

Have a dentist appt. this morning, the scan yesterday was quick, I always wear a sport bra with no metal and a lightweight shirt with not sparkles that way I do not have to undress, makes it go quicker, LOL...will know results this week I believe...this is just a precautionary thing nothing to be alarmed about...no need to get worried about something that has not happened yet.

Got the bed sheets changed yesterday, heavy winter blanket off and lightweight one put on, all things washed and put away, cleaned out the fridge, had made fruit and veggie trays for Memorial weekend downsized them and put the serving trays away...all that before going for the scan then back home to prepare supper..

This morning I wake up and make my coffee, go over to French doors that lead to deck and look out and the pole barn garage door is wide open, yes you guessed it, hubby left it open and he swore he closed and locked it, two weeks ago it was our home garage door, and he calls me a NAG!!! Wonder why, told him when he called me that if he wasn't so dam*ed forgetful I wouldn't have to nag, I rest my case!!! Of course I did remind him of that this morning!!!! Don't get me wrong, we are not arguing all the time, he is just a bit more cranky than I like, its like he is in defensive mode all the time, hoping when he retires he will get over that at some point..

Well folks time to get my shower and head out the door...

Have I told you guys lately how much I enjoy coming here and reading what you write, I may not comment on everything but I do read and enjoy you sharing your life with me..Have a great day one and all.

Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God

Good morning...I got a call yesterday while voluteering it was my Supervisor at Dollar General asking if I wanted to work this coming Sunday...would have normally been my Sunday off since she bumped me to every other Sunday...Of course I said yes!!! I am so thrilled to be getting extra hours even if it is only 4...because she told me in the beginning as I learned and she felt I was ready to learn something more then she would teach me more...well this Sunday night she took the time to teach me to stock...She also said in the beginning as I improved and showed that I could do the work I would get more hours...SO I feel like its a huge thing for her to call me and offer me hours...

I am headed to grocery store in a bit before it gets to hot...then this afternoon I am headed for the Chiropractor...church tonight..

Good SUNNY Morning! Yesterday was a very pretty day.

Yesterday wasn't super productive, but I did get some cleaning done & some errands run. My thrill yesterday was picking up the Longaberger baskets I had held for me from the flea market on Sunday. I got 2 pie baskets w/shelves for $20 total. That's fantastic price for those and even the cheap ones are more than that. Now I have enough pie baskets to easily transport 20 but with a dinner plate on top, I can do 28. Dinked around skimming the pool off & on yesterday. Blaise went in for a swim a couple of those times. Still not warm enough for me, but almost. Spent the evening reading a good book.

This morning I woke early so I started the laundry. Heading out soon to go to the bank, a different pool place, Sam's Club, and Aldi's. Have to make a lemon pie for a customer later today.

          Have a good one all!

Getting a haircut today so we do not have to call out the dog catcher. I have been dinking around with growing this and shortening that and have decided to get the entire mess cut. Short! Really short since I wear it shot anyway. Rained again this morning. When will it stop? I have drilled holes in the bottoms of all my pots to drain water. Andrew had another game cancelled for muddy fields yesterday. It may be national say something nice day but I cannot think of one nice thing to say about this darn ole rain. Paid bills yesterday and again did not cook a meal. Jon calls up and ask if I want a Subway. I did not because I am not eating very much lately but I felt bad that I have not cooked for a very long time. Tonight I will do something with pork chops since they are what I grabbed. Maybe pick up a box of wild rice and do a one pot meal. Look at me...I feel bad my son is starving and then try to figure the easiest way to cook something. I love cold meatloaf! Problem is with the kids here there were never any left overs. Did laundry yesterday and other than a trip home for haircut and stop at the bank I have no plans for the day. There are things I could do but I have no plans to do them....

Good morning, all. Hot again today and hotter tomorrow. Such is life in the foothills of the Sierra.

Off to PT at 9:30. Nice neighbor offered to drive me. Will pick up a few groceries when we start home.

Interesting to use Sloppy Joe Sauce on meatloaf but since I don't like meatloaf very much I may never find out. Haven't made or eaten meatloaf since I moved here. Joy used to make it often but hers made it in the Kitchen Aid and it turned out rubbery in my opinion.

Like Maxie, I'm watching for the dog catcher. Maybe I should just let it grow a bit more and get a license a rabies shot. It's almost to my shoulders but I can't get it up because it is so fine it just falls down and I can't stand to use enough hairspray to hold it.

Gotta run. Everyone have a good day.

                  Good morning, everyone.
We have an Excessive Heat warning through the weekend. Today is supposed to be 97°, but for the next several days it will break 100 and get as high as 110° by Saturday.
I haven't seen the news about the rainy destructions. I think there's major climate change going on.
Maxie, feel free to send that darned rain our way. The trees and plants will thank you profusely.

This afternoon I have to deal with PT. As the inflammation area on my foot is decreasing, the pain feels a bit worse. It feels like my ankle wants to crack off. I hope it disappears by the time my antibiotic is done this weekend.

Then tomorrow I will have my first experience with the chemo. It will be a 6 moth adventure. Naturally, the docs say it probably won't be as bad as I expect. Of course, there are a number of pills I will be taking, most to take care of side effects. Well, we will see how it affects me. Today I need to set up all my regular pills in their containers, and ready the separate dosages of the treatment pills as well.........in the event I don't feel well enough to think about it much.

Sassygirl, I love that kitten pic!!!! Yes, I'd protect it from the boogyman.
Elaine, I'd love that meatloaf recipe, too.
(Maxie, if you want leftover meatloaf slices, cut the slices before putting the meatloaf in the fridge, wrap your slices in foil and hide them in the freezer!)
Jostoy and Cookie, always busy and about! But I envy you gals because I don't have that much energy these days.
Beth, good for you.....you got more hours! Things will get better now, won't they?
Sharon, you're also busy as a bee lately.

Well, guess I'll get myself some breakfast.
Have a good day all you lovely people, no matter what your weather. I'd like to send you all some of our sunshine!☀️

Barb, Maye, we apparently were typing together today.

Put my name on the Loves Meatloaf list, too!
Hot here and getting hotter, just like Barb.
I was test driving a new car over the holiday weekend and thought I was going back on Tuesday to trade and test another Van. I called as soon as the dealership opened Tuesday morning ( yesterday but seems longer) and told my salesman Start writing up those papers! I don't need a van and will take the Equinox! I thought I had to have a van...and thought it would be hard to turn in the van because of emotional attachments, but I did it pretty effortlessly! I am not posting pictures on Facebook but wanted to tell you guys. I have never bought a car by myself...so this was a big deal for me.
Hope we all fill the day with Saying Something Nice!
I want to echo what Sharon said: I love reading your posts and seeing a little peek into your day! And what's cookin' at your house

We looked at an Equinox the last time we bought a car, but ended up getting the Escape and then a Fusion. I don't care what anyone says, but I can pack more into my trunk & backseat than those kinds of vehicles, especially the Tarsus.

I'm a meatloaf lover too and I've been using Jackie's recipe with a couple tweaks for quite a few years. I made it last week for the first time in a LONG time and everyone (except Corky) gobbled it up. I'll be making it again soon.

Well I'm stuck in the kitchen for the next few days. I suddenly have orders, which is a good thing. I needed them. I always say God provides what we need, no necessarily what we want.
