    Good Morning!

    Well, I should have signed in when I got up at 5 because I have been watching news with John for the last hour and I'm so disgusted with the political climate in this country. We have become a laughing stock.

    Blood test for John this morning and on to the market to buy a few items.

    Nothing else going on.

    Hugs to Everyone.

    Good Morning! The sun is trying to stay out but the clouds may win.

    Yesterday was nice. Came home from church and made the lemon meringue pie and put the dressing on the potato salad. I could have sat down at that point, but the baking bug bit me, so I mixed up a double batch of banana nut bread because I had a lot of over ripe bananas and while those were baking I mixed up a tripe batch of sugar cookie dough since I'm not happy with the cookies I made for this week's order. Then I FINALLY sat down and read...nice. We headed out a little early for my brother's place since we had to pick up Kathy & Jimmy. Lots of good food & good company. We ALL had a good time. We celebrated my SIL Sherry's BD and Blaise's BD along with Mothers Day. We brought along Blaise's Uno Attack game that her got for his BD earlier in the week and we had a good time playing that. The guys went out to check out my brother's new used car he got that week.

    Not sure what today will bring though I know I want to bake off the cookies and need to do some cleaning...again...it's NEVER ending.

    Elaine...it's like this every 3 years. I choose not to watch the news, otherwise my blood boils and I yell at the TV.

    Have a good one all!

      Good Morning, it is looking like rain out there pretty soon, they are predicting thunderstorms...I have to take our vehicle back to the place that wired it for the brake and put the wrong plug on...why me? LOL I sure hope it doesn't take that long because I do not feel good at all, this nasty crap hubby passed on to me is getting me down, keeps me from getting a good nights sleep etc. After the vehicle is finished I am coming home, putting on my flannels and hibernating...I have some Lean Cuisines to eat, works for me..

      Elaine, hope John gets some good news on the blood work...I am with you on the political climate, we do not have one candidate that is worth a hoot..

      Well time to get moving here, have a great day one and all...may the sun shine on you today and all your troubles be few..

      Hugs to all.

      Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God

        Morning all

        I missed checking in yesterday - so I hope you all had a Happy Mother's Day.

        Chris and I drove over by Pensacola and spent the day with his Granny at the nursing home she's in. All of his uncles and his parents were there - we had a good time.

        I let Erin spend the day with her Granny. BUT she DID send me the following text (which totally makes me know I'm doing okay as a Mom!):

        "Mom, I can't thank you enough for everything you do for me and have done for me. You may not be the perfect mom but you do everything you can for me. When I first moved in with you I was always so angry and I can't apologize enough for how I've treated you sometimes, but I try to be good to you like you are to me. I love you more than words could ever explain and I'm so proud of you for being the good parent I need. You're there for me when I need you and you always help me when I need it. I may be difficult to deal with at times but I'll always love you no matter what. Happy Mother's Day❤️."

        Makes it ALL worthwhile

        I'm off to run this office. Y'all have a good 'un!
        The only person you should try to be better than is the person you were yesterday.

          Pat that was so sweet of Erin, right from the heart, doesn't get any better than that...keep that in your heart and mind when things get rough...

        How sweet Pat! Nice to know you are not always the bad guy in their eyes. I'd print that and stick in in a safe place! We had a very nice day also. The sun came out and it warmed up and turned into a pleasant day. Of course good company and lots of laughter helps plus excellent food and a couple of good drinks. Today I must find a grocery store. I feel guilty that I haven't cooked a decent meal in a while so today will go all out with meat loaf, mashed potatoes and maybe cornbread since Andrew loves cornbread. To top it off I already have the meatloaf in the freezer so only need to pull it out and stick it in the oven. Storms this afternoon again so pray the cable does not go out in the middle of my hockey game. We could win tonight and move up in the playoffs. Hope my Blues shirt is clean...gotta have my shirt on! Sierra has two finals this week then is finished with school. Registered for the fall and ready to enjoy the summer. Andrew has 8 days left and you better beleive he is counting. Have a good one..I am off flying around again.

          Good morning.
          I didn't sleep very well last night at all. Don't know what that was about. Will be glad to get back home today.
          But tomorrow afternoon I finally look forward to start my PT. I still have "tightness" around my shins and ankles, right foot worse than the left.

          Elaine, I really agree with you (and others) on today's politics. It's sickening. I don't watch it on TV.....hearing other people talk about it, and seeing the newspaper and news magazines are more than enough.
          Hope John's blood test is good.

          Cookie, am glad to hear yesterday went so well for you. Hope today does, too.

          Boffler, hope that bug passes quickly! Hugs to you.

          Pat, you got the best Mother's Day gift of all. Isn't it great when a kid recognizes your efforts and love!!!

          Well, gotta repack my stuff, and get ready for breakfast and the trip home.

          To everyone, have a great day.
          ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
          Create a beautiful day wherever you go.
          Oh my gosh, Pat, that made me cry! I can only imagine how you felt when you read that! Best text ever!
          Elaine, I totally agree with you about the political mess. And to think this is the election I said I would really follow to decide my vote...ugh. I will vote. And I am really looking at my local Congressional race. That will probably be the closest I get to having a voice/ interest in Washington.
          I didn't check in to this thread but did post about JoS' Facebook news.
          I see her and Val on Facebook to keep up.
          Drizzly here, but knowing our water history, it doesn't bother me...it will turn really hot soon enough and things will dry out.
          Right in the middle of dinner yesterday I remembered I have an insurance agent coming to my house for a blood draw and weigh in for my life insurance. Kind of killed my dinner mood!
          So, no baking anything for me until I do that weigh in. The red velvet bars Becky made were so good. My mother didn't protest at all when I said we were leaving a plateful with her.
          It took me all Saturday to get her gifts, but all's well, and we are good until her birthday in August.
          Hope you all have a good day!
          Maxie, I love cornbread and your dinner sounds great!
            Good morning, all.
            Sunny and high in the mid 70s today. I think winter may be done with us and by October we will all be praying for rain again. I think by now you all know that it rarely if ever rains from May to October here.
            Had a lovely Mothers Day. Rebecca and Michael came from Santa Cruz Saturday evening bring me copious amounts of Thai food because they know how much I like it. Then they took me to brunch yesterday and I had Eggs Benedict and a fresh fruit cup.
            Ross brought Kait and her boyfriend down and she helped with some of the cleaning that I have a hard time with while Bex did my laundry and the boys cleaned up out in front. Best present they could have given me.
            Kait did give me a cute set of chopsticks because she knows I do collect them. the sticks are a dark brown with the Japanese chrysanthemum emblem and the chop stick rests are ducks.
            I have to agree with you all that the political atmosphere in our country is totally embarrassing. I don't have TV which is probably good as I would probably throw a shoe through the screen.
            Gotta go shopping and then rearrange my PT schedule so I can go in the afternoon. The allergies are always worse in the morning although they aren't bad this AM. I did use the inhaler and took Benadryl first thing. Yesterday I tried Zyryec and that doesn't do much about the drippy nose and itchy eyes but later I realized I was really fumbling for word and I think the Zyrtec caused.
            Good PT office just called to check on me.
            Gotta go get ready to go to town as Sis, Ada, will be picking me up shortly.
            P.S. My newest great grandson is due on the 18th. Of course I won't see him soon as he will be a Texan by birth. Hi, ladyebug. Erika did say they were planning to come out here sometime this summer.
              good Evening..
              I was sure I had posted on here this morning .... but.... must have foggier brain cells ..was a good Mothers day for me.. Call from Colorado son. and seen the other two sons. and spent time , soccer game and supper out .with Daughter.Karen.family... flowers ... and volunteered help for the boys...
              made need one of them to do a quick ,emergency drive to see Davids sister.. in hospital.. she will is having a heart cath this evening .. she is having major water retention problems.. Diabetes. low functioning kidneys and now a heart problem .. does not sound good.. and she doesn't get better ,she slowly is getting worse.. sigh...
              Pat. copy that text off from Erin .. keep it somewhere safe... to be read in darker moments... what so sweet of her ..
              politics ..... hardly ever changes.... I hated Ronald Reagan ,,Jack Kennedy.. the only pleasant election in my memory was Eisenhower.. he was a hero ..
              ....wasn't the greatest president .. but he was probably one of the worlds most respected one.. this years.... sigh.... will live in infamy as the craziest of them all.... now,,how and if the country can survive either one of them is the question..
              get ready to watch DWTSs. got my choices made ... and I like to pick who is going home .... so I don't waste a vote on them..
              Paula. lots of votes for 1.Ginger/Val....2.Nyle, and Peta..... 3.Paige and Mark......... think Jodie will go. off .. and one of the other guys... probably Antonia.
              Take it one Day , one step, at a time.. cause that's all we really have.
                Aloha all!
                Ahhh, that was so sweet of Erin to send that. Brought tears to my eyes too.
                I don't watch any election news either. What a mell of a hess it all is.
                Had a nice Mother's day here. A very good luncheon and they gave all moms, grandmoms, and all ladies a pretty scarf or shawl in different colors. It was very nice. Heard from all of my family and that is the nicest of all.
                No rain yet today, but it might. Rained most of the day yesterday which I guess ruined a lot of peoples plans for outdoor picnics and bbqs.
                Have a good day all!
