Not sleeping in here...Up and ready to head to Illinois for the next few days...I even painted my finger nails! Pink glitter!
Will drive through some place for breakfast on the way for me to catch the train.
Plans for the day spending time with the family...making a blanket with my mom and getting pizza for supper...church with my parents tomarrow..visiting my granny on Monday...will be home Monday or Tuesday.
Sleeping in? What's that? I clocked in at work this morning at 4:40 a.m. - have to make up some hours for taking off early yesterday.
Granny took Erin to the pediatrician for her "migraines". Given the family history (Granny had a brain aneurysm about 20 yrs. ago), they sent Erin immediately to a neurologist - I met them there. We waited for THREE hours to even get into an exam room. Saw the doctor for approx. 10 minutes - we are now awaiting insurance approval for an MRI and will have to go back then. Personally, I suspect Erin has allergies and sinus problems, but if it will shut Granny up about her having brain problems, more the better!
I'm only here until 11am today - then will go home and clean house. Also planning on making BBQ ribs, baked beans, and tater salad for supper.
Y'all have a good 'un!
The only person you should try to be better than is the person you were yesterday.
Pat I have been told that aneurysms can be passed from generation to generation..my father had 2 and his dad had 3 but I have also been told they more likely to be passed from male to male and less likely to be passed to the girls in the family.
Yesterday was good. You should see my nails. Blaise painted them during the Mother's Days Spa Day They are very colorful and many colors and lumpy...LOL! You'd all be jealous! I got to bring him home with me, so we headed into town to Arby's & Aldi's. Once we got home, I took the Kentucky Derby Pie down to the restaurant. He came out & apologies because he wanted another German Choc pie and a Carrot Cake. Well I had rolled out a pie crust for the pie I'm going to make for MD dinner and had an un-iced carrot cake in the freezer because I had made two earlier in the week when they got one. So I was back there in about an hour & a half with their order. Cork came home from work & went out to mow, so it was eat for his own for dinner....sort of. Blaise & I went down to my brother's to see my niece & her friends all decked out for the prom. She was gorgeous & looked so elegant....and not a one of them had a strapless gown.
Today is a busy one. I've got a list of things that need done & I'll do them slowly but surely. Have to finish icing the last 4 doz of sugar cookies, make mac salad and a couple other dishes for tomorrow. Will bake the pie crust today and will make the lemon pie tomorrow. The floors need mopped desperately since a little person tromped in mud & something was dribbled on the kitchen floor. Guess I best get busy.
Good morning all.
I almost slept through the night...woke about 1:30, then slept to 6:30. Guess I woke E when I got up, but he wants to sleep a bit longer.
Yesterday's rain lasted til darkness fell. I loved it! E got caught in it at the grocery store. E didn't get everything, but he got enough. I sleep very well when it rains. This time the forecast changed....the rain came earlier that forecasted, but that means the weekend temps will be a bit higher, too.
So...my happy and sad news: Yesterday I saw my surgeon. Got a quick checkup, she asked a couple of questions. She had read my record and said she was surprised I was doing so well, considering all the "hurdles" I've faced since the surgery. She said that she has been praying for me all along. But that I was healing very well, and my digestive track is doing everything it should. She said that she doesn't need to see me until the oncologist's fix up whatever is going haywire in me.....my whacky, unexplainable blood levels - and straighten that all out. We have a tentative return appt for September, but at the rate the oncologist's are going I'll likely have to move it to later. As it is, on the current schedule, we will be missing my namesake-granddaughter's wedding cruise in October. But maybe I'll end up with a shorter alternative to the proposed chemo. You never know what twists and turns life gives you. We will see what is ahead.
So, today we will be seeing the bulk of our offspring. Busy day ahead.
Looks like you all have a busy day ahead as well. Hope your day/weekend goes well.
Pat, you & Erin are in my thoughts.
Good afternoon, better late than never...I have had such a crazy, busy week...and this morning has been no exception.
I got my new mattress and box spring yesterday, they called at 1:36 and said they would be here around 2:00!!! What!! It seems they thought I had been told it would be delivered, but my phone has been messing up and I did not get that message, so I had to quick unmake the bed, get the washer started and get the mattress covers and such washed to put on the new one...also the blankets, sheets, etc. and with the bed bug thing being so bad they no longer take away the old ones. So I put it on line as free, you take away, absolutely no stains or bedbugs, king size Stearns & Foster Estate low prfile box spring and mattress, it was gone in less than an hour...
Today, hubby was up by six to get on the road to his fishing trip, making sure he didn't forget the coleslaw, potato salad and 14 dozen cookies I made to send with him, got him out the door. My stove was to be delivered between 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., they called it was going to be around 12:30..okay it has been delivered and set up...It has just been one thing after the other and making due without a stove since Tuesday. also have a nasty cold or something, my lungs feel like they are on fire, and I am coughing up some nasty thick greenish yellow stuff which means infection, so I guess Monday if not better, call the Dr.
My thoughts and prayers are with Jostoy!
Well ladies and gents I am worn out, I am going to kick back and take it easy the rest of the day, not one more thing do I need to do, things I can do, but don't have to do.
Blessings to all Mother's out here..
