Sunday April 24th.....RISE & SHINE!!!

Good Morning. Suppose to be a sunny day. Yesterday was sunny but cool & breezy.

Yesterday was good. My brother Ray went with me to help me doing the concession stand. Because it was cooler, we didn't sell the cold drinks like we did the week before. Sales were down. They finally picked up around supper time. The week before I made TONS of walking tacos and this week was only about half as many. Go figure. We had fun though.

Well today has started off bad. Kathy called around 6:30am and she's been in a car accident...she hit a deer. Her car is totaled, which wouldn't take much because it's old, but it got her around. We are waiting to hear what hospital they are taking her too. Many things are going through my head right now. So much for her starting her new job on Tuesday. She has no health insurance. She's on our car insurance. We had PLANNED to go visit Becca today, but I think that's not going to happen. Just one more thing for Becca to hold over Kathy's head and a reason to resent her. Corky is NONE too happy with her too. Any who has to listen to them all? ME! I'm not happy with her either because of her poor choices, but....

Dang...I was looking forward to seeing Becca. I even made a few of her favorites to take up to her. Who knows, maybe we'll still see her somehow.

Good morning! So sorry to hear about kathy's accident cookie...I hope she isn't hurt to bad....cars can be replaced people can not...

Today is the day my parents come I can't wait to see them...they should be here between 230 and 300 I think...depends on when they get out of church and on the road...I will finish last minute jobs and run to the store while I wait. I think they are staying through Wednesday and coming back on Friday..I have a meeting with my people on Friday and I want my mom there if she is able..

I don't know how much my mom and I will get to do...

I had a bit of excitement here yesterday....late yesterday afternoon my sister called to let me know she was coming to cut the grass and she asked me to get the mower out..I tried but couldn't reach the latch..anyways I went back around to the front of the house..while we were in the house our neighbors dog ended up coming for a visit..the only thing we can figure out is that she jumped the fence..so I had to track down her owners and return her home..I couldn't get into their fence.

This evening my parents and I will go to church with my sister and her family....and then out for ice cream...a great way to start their visit.!

Boff, my back can't scream any louder, but I have to get all this work done. I know when I see my spine specialist Tuesday, I'll have to stop my work for a while.

Got a call from my S-I-L yesterday just as I got in my car to leave the Lake saying that "they" think my brother had a stroke Friday night as she was putting him to bed. The paramedics didn't take him to the hospital because he had "come back around" and said he didn't want to go. Now who or what kind of paramedics is that? I know my S-I-L was very panic when she couldn't get him to respond to her, but at least was able to control her composer to call 911. But not to take him to the hospital so the Dr. could check him is unheard of.

Bought my camper yesterday, but can't put it on the site until a rotten tree comes down. Can't even move my shed over there because of that darn tree. The "club" is responsible to take the tree down so I guess they are taking their sweet time since they already have my money.

Time to get off here and get ready for S. and C. including fixing my breakfast.

Good Morning, the sun is shining brightly and hubby is still sleeping, so it gives me a few minutes alone with coffee and computer...he isn't feeling the greatest, says everyone at work has been sick and now he feels he is getting it also...he says, "everyone coming to work sick", I say, "you do the same thing when you are sick"!! Just stay away from me, Clorox wipes will be getting a workout, also washing of the hands more and keeping them away from my face..

Donna, hope that Kathy will be okay, good thing is she is an adult and you are not responsible for her debt...I do feel bad for you and Becca, it seems no matter what Kathy has a way of messing things up but hitting a deer is an act of God and she can't be blamed for that, hopefully Becca is mature enough to understand that. also Cork...From a Mom's point of view I understand that no matter what age, they are still your children..

Jostoy, if your brother said NO then there is not anything anyone can say that will make them take him anyways...sad but true...he must be a stubborn one, must run in the family, LOL Do hope you get some relief from the back problems, keep it up and you will need to move into a condo...

Beth enjoy the visit from your Mom & Dad, hope your Mom doesn't get to tired...

Nothing much planned here today, hope it gets warm enough that I can get outside and plant a few bulbs that I have...need to decide on something for supper, and of course watch the Nascar race...yesterday got my grocery shopping done with hubby's help.

Wow, so much going on there. Nothing going on here today. My breakfast right now is a protein drink. Will probably grab an Eggo later.

Am finishing a book on Pope Joan. I read one years ago, but the story differs quite a bit.
Cookie I'm glad Kathy's accident wasn't worse. Are her injuries bad enough to keep her from her new job?

Good morning, all. Another nice morning, rain possible this evening. Pretty typical Ca spring time in the foothills of the Sierra.
The experts say our drought isn't completely over but last year was really scary. things would have bee awful if it had stayed that way. Good old Nino did it again.

Sorry to see that Kathy was in an accident. Deer jumped in front of Joy's truck once. Didn't total it, though but plenty of repairs to door and side panel.

Buttermilk pancakes for breakfast today. May make a couple of little Buttermilk Pies with leftover buttermilk.

A beautiful sunny and going to warm up morning here. Blues lost again and have one more change to beat the Hawks. I just do not like the Chicago teams and hate that we have blown the series lead. Tomorrow is final game so someone will win the series. Cardinals rallied and won. All the plants were planted last night and the back steps will be put in tomorrow. It will be so nice to have something stationary and not those wobbly blocks we are using as steps. But before I put the blocks down he just had a big step. These people must have been giants by the size of the steps they put in. Going to plan a weeks meals and shop today. It has to be cheaper than deciding spur of the moment what I want to cook and then searching the store for ingredients I might already have. Last night I had a peanut butter sandwich and a box of ginger snap cookies dunked in coffee. Now that is the meal of champions! So I am a dunker...drives my kids crazy. Sorry about Kathy and her car...hope she wasn;t hurt. Hitting deer is a way of life around here. Need to do a load of laundry and run the vac. Jon went in at 3:00AM and will work 12 hours and he will be tired but is off tomorrow. It isn't the hours he put in but the time he left this morning if his shift started at 3:00. Bet he did not sleep at all. Wonder how long it will take me to plan five meals? I am not a meal planner but can do a lot with a bunch of meatballs so lots of hamburger will go on the list. Aw... Kathy just can't get her life to line up ...she screws it up most of the time ,but like Sharon said. anyone and lots of folks are having deer accidents now..
hope she is not hurt tho'.

Jostoy , agree with Sharon,, if the BIL said No.. which is what my husband would have done too... they can't just take him... SIL might have been allowed to sign him to go if he would have been unconscious or confused .. and I see you are making sure your back is in terrible shape by the time you get to your appointment ... ( you sound my hubby!).

MAXIE. what a great supper. the peanut butter sandwich is a standby with me.. but I have never added ginger snaps... yes!!!!. ( I don't like to cook UNLESS it is the super duper kind ,like thanksgiving .)

Had a great talking visit with Val,, (Punkin)... in spite of all her physical problems.. which are many. and emotional ones. which are many .. this lady has the greatest sense of humor....we laughed more than we cried.. I told her she was missed ..she misses all of you..... so a big HELLO from her.

better get moving .. need to do something with this head of hair... so thin anymore..

Ginger snaps have been added to my grocery list..they are a favorite of mine that I don't always think about getting...I loved them dunked in cold milk! The last 2 I have been busy getting stuff done around here and ended my day with a peanut butter and grape jelly sandwich! I could live on Peanut butter and Jelly

Me too, Beth, but we were out of jelly...believe it or not my son uses jelly in his bbq sauce and it is delic...Sierra always ask for her dad's sauce!

Hope Kathy is ok. Deer have a way of jumping out at you when you least expect it. I hit one on I 25 years ago and had to hit it or I would of caused a major accident. It just dented our bumper but the deer I don't believe would make it. It was badly injured. And a deer ran unto Buddy and I one time and didn't hit the truck, but the hauling trailer we were towing. Keep us posted about Kathy.

I've heard of putting red current jelly in sauces, in fact I have done that in the past. Makes a good sauce.

Nothing much going on here today, but it is a beautiful warm day.
