Happy Easter! It's suppose to be a sunny and very warm day here. Perfect!

We've already been to sunrise service in the cemetery at the church I grew up in. My brother Ray found us and stood with us. Nice. Came home and slice a bit of the ham that is roasting and had it with some scrambled eggs & toast. Blaise found his basket quickly. I thought I had it hid pretty hard. I have a few food items still to make. We are having dinner at my brother Tom's at 1pm and we'll spend the entire day there. Kathy called and wants Blaise at 1pm...right when we are to be eating. She'll have him back by 4pm. Guess she isn't joining us. We'll have to hold off the egg hunt until he comes back. She always wants to play super mom at prime time.

Have a blessed day all! He is Risen!

          Happy Easter one and all!

It is STILL pouring rain here and has been since Friday. We got 6 inches of rain yesterday. All egg hunts have been cancelled due to the weather.

We have no plans other than I'm baking a pound cake and taking sweetened sliced strawberries to Chris's sister-in-law's house later this evening.

Yesterday I finally got around to baking the coconut cake I've been craving for over a week. I made the fluffy marshmallow frosting for it and doubled the recipe so I now have filling to make chocolate whoopie pies (which I will make today also).

Erin spent the night with granny last night - first time in a couple of months that she even wanted to. She colored eggs with her younger siblings and was having a good time the last time I checked on her. Wouldn't it be so great if her dad finally straightened up? I told Erin that is ALL I ever wanted - for him to man up and be a DAD.

So I'm gonna have one more cup of coffee and then head to the kitchen to start baking. Y'all have a beautiful Easter!
The only person you should try to be better than is the person you were yesterday.

Good Morning to all, and yes, Happy Easter, remember the reason we celebrate...I do believe it was a much more fun and interesting day when there were children involved. So since it is just me and hubby, we will give thanks and have our usual quiet Sunday. Will probably find something in the freezer to throw on the grill later...Went to a wedding last night, and as the night progressed and the drinks kept flowing, I was an observer and told hubby, "think it is about to get rowdy" so let's get going..he wondered how I knew and I told him 'body language' and sure enough it started. Alcohol has a way of doing that to some people..until then it was a very nice wedding, and the catered food was taco's, chicken and beef with all the trimmings, salsa and chips for the appetizers.

Nothing planned for us today except maybe to open both slides on the motorhome and air it out a bit, do some dusting and mopping of the floors, and start getting it ready...I am so ready for camping season...hope to stay healthy enough to enjoy it..

Donna, I think Kathy needs to observe your schedule and not ruing things for Blaise and hold up the day that you have planned. She does like to play 'Mother' when it benefits her, showtime..Enjoy your day with your family..

Continued thoughts and prayers for JoG, sure life is a little different now, so many things to learn and adjust to.

Well time to get this day started, don't want to waste my time I get with the hubby...otherwise it is by myself all day long during the week..from 7:00 a.m. to usually 6:00 p.m. so I try not to waste the time we have on weekends.

Have a great day one and all as we celebrate what the good Lord has made possible for us.

Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God

Happy Easter! Looks like rain but my brother has plenty of room for all of us. Jon is working, Andrew at his uncles farm for a big egg hunt and dinner, Sierra not joining us as I expected but still was disappointed, so just me and Scott heading out later this morning. We did make it to the cemetery last evening and the boys and I Set flowers on their dad's grave. Normally the 5 of us go, me, the boys and grands but one grand was busy with family things and the other could not be bothered and said so is so many words. Andrew never knew this grandfather and he was gone before Sierra's first birthday but I thought she could have made the effort since it meant something to me and we go together every year. Scott has been doing some family research and we walked around looking for family members. I thought they would be clustered together and they were once we started looking. Scott has also taken a sample of his DNA and sent if off for analysis. A rumor has flown through the family for a long time about my great grandfather being part Indian and I remember him having some features that fit but I also remember he had the bluest eyes that Scott inherited...mine are more washed out blue and we are the only blue eyed family members. We always teased my dad about being indentured convicts and he always said it was a very good possibility and never knew any family history past his blue eyed grandfather. My husbands family was all German so we expect no surprises there. But isn't it interesting? Or a big racket but we will never know if it is unless we try to claim a throne someplace and get dumped on our not so royal fannies. Slept a few hours last night so maybe a romp through the windy cemetery is what I needed. Probably a good therapy session with my sister will not hurt today. Jo so happy to see you continue to heal and that your surprise was beautiful. Sun is pouring in the window through the clouds so maybe it is a sign. Have a wonderful day!

                  Good Morning ..

already have a half days work done... ...Wanted to get the pies done early...hard to transport warm... Apples pies are out of oven. making a crust now. to fill with choc. pudding.. that is the kids favorite.( with cool whip on top)..
Shawna spent about 2 hours with me yesterday .. as we planned a way for the "grown-up teens" to do an egg hunt. .filled eggs with candy, money &.jelly beans. the beans are going to be used to play another game as they open each egg. following S. and I 's rules. should be fun. ...

Wish I would have the push to make myself go to Easter sunrise service.. I did when I was Donna's age... but the old body , knees in particular ..don't like that much walking ,standing.. (and it was cold this morning)..
.....it is so lovely to watch the sunrise ,,knowing GOD is in CONTROL... if we slaughter,(war,) each other, HE will weep.....then one day we will have a catastrophic "natural "episode.like Hurricanes, earthquakes.,. by them, HE will show us how easy it would be to wipe us all away.. (tongue in cheek this morning) and start over... Happy Easter

better finish up. time sure does fly by fast!

JoG.. hope your Day is a great one!..
Take it one Day , one step, at a time.. cause that's all we really have.

Good Morning, These are the type days I really miss living close to family, The one cousin that was closer than a sister to me growing up, seemed to always get to spend the night with me and we would get to hunt eggs before going to church. Wish I knew what happened to the movie film of her big find the one year. We had ducks and one of them decided that under the copper kettle that was kept leaned against the house was a good place for a nest. Debbie thought she had hit the jack pot and threw a fit when Mom wouldn't let her put the eggs in her basket. This is also the cousin that refused to allow us to cut a cake one year because it was an Easter Bunny. I was so mad at her because I really wanted cake.We always hunted the eggs the Easter Bunny hid before church, then off the the little one room church which was always packed on Easter Sunday. My Aunt was our Sunday School teacher, and the Easter Bunny always left us a small basket on the "class room" table and after service we went out and found that the Easter Bunny had also hidden us eggs around the church yard and grave yard.
When my kids were little Easter was at my Mom's and my handi-capped Uncle lived close enough that we would pick him up the night before. And he would be as excited as the kids to get his basket and then get to go out and hunt eggs.

We will be staying home, no kids around so no Easter Baskets here. Kenny will not touch a hard boiled egg so I don't even bother to color them any more (When James was alive I would color about 6 and he would find them when he fixed his breakfast, would also make him a small basket and sit it on the table for him.

                        Good morning and Happy Easter!
We decided to have homemade strawberry shortcake since the one Becky made for the shelter last night was such a hit with them. One of the "guests" is leaving next week for home in Oklahoma. He has family there and they want him to come home. He had said strawberry shortcake was his favorite dessert so that is why Be key made it. She put it together there and that was part of the appeal. And no one there had ever had anything other than the little store but sponge cakes. I grew up with a mother who baked all the time and we had Bisquick type shortcakes, but this was a re joe from Pinterest. A bit sweeter and more cake like...
Church in just a bit. Then, my mom and Becky and I will eat here. I was going back and forth whether to take the dinner to her house, because of my Lab's senior issues, but we are going to just make it work here.
The birds are chirping away, the sun is shining, and reading your posts make for a wonderful start to the day!
                        Enjoy this day!

                          Aloha and Happy Easter all!

A beautiful day here so all the children will be happy hunting their eggs. There will be a nice lunch here and I have two high school friends coming. They live in the sister facility on Oahu and are taking a round the island cruise of the islands on the Pride of America. It stops over night on Maui so they decided to spend it here at Kalama Heights. I haven't seen them for years so we will have a lot of catching up to do.

Have a wonderful day with family and friends or what ever you do.
