    Good Morning, Friends.

Well, the transfusion went well. 2 units took about 5 hours. John did fine. I nearly froze to death sitting in a chair. Had my jacket, John's coat, a blanket and was still shivering.

Funny thing happened. Nephew Johnny sat with us for a couple of hours. When it was time to leave, John went into the bathroom and Johnny and I stood waiting. One nurse came over and said, "Oh your color is so much better. ". Johnny said, "I came in here with this color. I am not the man who was in the bed". Another nurse came over and said, "Mr. Thomas, it is ok for you to leave. We are all finished." Again, Johnny said, "My name is Thomas, but I am not the patient!" John and Johnny are 5 years apart, and when they were in their 30's and 40's they looked like twins. But today they look nothing alike. Weird. Guess those nurses are too busy to look at people's faces.

So we don't have a diagnosis and won't know anything for another week, but John is definitely not making blood cells. The transfusion is a band aid to make him feel better and get some strength. I will let you all know when we know.

God bless each of you for your kind words.

Good Morning! There is a dusting of snow out there this morning, so I guess it's back to being cold.

Yesterday was good. Love grocery shopping...I know...weird...loved getting great bargains. Spent the afternoon baking & making a big mess. Made 2 German choc pies & 2 choc PB rolls. Fortunately I had filling already made & in the refrig for the PB logs, so I didn't have to make that mess. Leftover soups for dinner. Finished another puzzle last night.

This morning Becca is going on her first airplane ride...that she remembers. We took them to Arizona when they were babies, so they have no memory of being on a plane. She's going to a national conference for her sorority since she's on the Board. It's all paid for and it's in Florida. She should be in the air now.

Not sure what today will bring. I need to ice the carrot cake & then deliver all the goodies to the restaurant. Need to go pick up a Rx. Feeling good so far today. Think I'll start going through the mountain of cooking magazines I have. Maybe I'll find something new to make for supper.

        (((Elaine & John))) How scary.

Good Morning, really hoping to get this typed and submitted before any "error" messages of any kind hit...
Elaine, John and you will be in my prayers, such a scary time for all of you, I have felt for awhile now that something more was going on with John...funny story with the nurses.
Maye really good news about David, so glad he is healing and getting stronger each day.
As much as I love winter this one has been a disappointment and it is usually about this time I am ready for spring, so since Easter will be in March this year, that is my cue that spring will be early and for that I am happy.
Not much happening in my world today, last week I ordered a new sectional for the livingroom/family room. Can't believe how long it takes to get something you order, and will order the Lazyboy recliner that hubby liked, just can't believe you have to pay extra $100 if you order a different material. Oh well, tried all the other dealers around this area and it is a Lazyboy thing..
Need to decide something for supper..
Donna, sure hope you are doing better, you do worry me..
JoG hope you are feeling better today.
Maxie, hope Sierra comes to realize she doesn't have to chose sides, she can love her Mom & her Dad and just stop anyone from bad mouthing the other...
Pat, putting Erin first always, showing her and letting her know always how much you love her and how proud you are of her can go a long way...My childrens needs always came before mine...after they graduated and left home became MY time..different set of rules in different parent homes gets them confused also..makes for a chip on the shoulder..
Time for coffee and newspaper, so everyone have a wonderful day, hope some sun shines in your life today.

Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God

Good morning coming through late this morning...been up for a while but busy working on my room....my parents will be here in a few hours I have a doctors appointment...we are having supper with my sister and her family....they will have pork loin...dad and I will have hamburger...I ate enough nasty pork loin while I worked at the work shop that I don't like it at all any more. I am hoping there is time for my mother and I to go get me a new pair of tennis shoes but I doubt it...IF mom feels up to it we all will go to my oldest nieces vollyball game and then get ice cream.

A friend told me they saw my mom out in the community yesterday..they didn't see her and if they didn't know she was battling cancer there was no evidence and her wig looks excellent so I am anxious to see it and form my own opinion.

Good Friday morning! Still gathering, adding and grouping tax info but it will get done. On time and then I just wait to see what the difference will be in filing a single return as opposed to a joint return. This is the year that happens.
No big plans for baking until, after my appointment stress is over.
My friend going through radiation and starting chemo is not doing well. The doctors were hoping to give her a year...her husband just asked if the church could volunteer some dinners. I am taking it in on Monday.
I have a few minutes to group a few more receipts...
Tomorrow, or today, Spencer will be flying to Maryland for 2 weeks training in his new position. First time he is flying first class, upgraded from business. He will have lots more leg room and hopefully, able to rest. I fall asleep as soon as the plane takes off, but he doesn't. I am excited to hear what will be going on and how he likes MD. I used to live in Frederick, not too far from Hanover, where he will be. A community outside of Baltimore...
Hope your day has sun and rising temperatures. Next week we are to start getting warmer!
Prayers and hugs for recovery to all who need it!

Really late this morning although I have been up for a very long time. Fixed Sierra breakfast before she left and that threw my morning off. I am a creature of habit and breakfast is breaking a morning habit of coffee and leave me alone. The new dishwasher is nor working correctly and since we hooked it up ourselves guess we have to trouble shoot and find the problem ourselves. Hoping it just a matter of a crimped water line...but it will be tomorrow before it gets looked at. Andrew gets out early today and I am thinking leftovers for supper. I cannot tell you how this every night cooking is wearing on me...I just hate to cook. If we did not have kids in and out most nights I would just give my son a bowl of cereal and he wouldn't complain. Glad David keeps improving and hope for good news for John. Funny about the nurses not recognizing faces...although they may be seeing a resemblance you have long gotten to used to seeing. No plans for today but should get out for weekend groceries. Both kids will be in and out all weekend and I should at least have bread and some junk food. If I fill them with junk maybe they won't expect a meal...

                  Good morning, everyone.

I slept in this morning. I was awake at 2:30 this morning, and it wasn't easy getting back to sleep. Don't know what disturbed me.
Yesterday didn't make it out of the 50°'s, but today's forecast says 63°. We will see. (Didn't they used to do a better job of forecasting before all the technology came in?) 🙄
So... Yesterday's eye exams took a while. The doctor doesn't think I have glaucoma. He did my 2nd cataract surgery 14 years ago, and says my eyes looked exactly the same then. He can remember that? But I have to schedule one more test with him to be absolutely sure. Today I will be on the phone scheduling a few different appointments that need to be made for this month.

Elaine, I'm so glad John's infusion went well. Those nurses should have paid better attention to who the patient is. It's funny, but it's a more serious thing in that it's how hospital mistakes can be made. I hope they can fix his blood cell problem.
Maye, it's good to hear that David has improved.
                  Donna, don't overdo.
Hi Sharon. I'm hanging in there.
Yeah, I always put my kids first, too. My girls seemed to understand we couldn't afford everything, but my son not so much. I explained I had gone without food, things I needed , so they'd have their needs met. He said, "Well, that's your job!" Well, that was tough to get through, but we finally got to an understanding. Kids can all be difficult, in different ways.

Hi Beth, Sassygirl, and all who follow.
                  Have a great day.
                  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
                  Create a beautiful day wherever you go.
