  • David heart cath day

I was so tired by the time we finally got home yesterday ... I did not post..
David did well. through the test... .. Cardiologist had an emergency which delayed David for almost 2 hours.... but they finally got the procedure done... and the news
was not good.... Besides the valve that needs replaced there are two arteries in the "back' that will need bypassed.. so next Monday surgery will take even longer... but I was impressed with the hospital staff and the two doctors he has... so many people ask him the same set of questions.. they loaded us down with information of what they had done and what will be done....Glad Mike will be here next week.. Iwas so glad Karen was with me all day.. 2 sets of ears are better than one..

however they left out One.... the one heart Dr. as kind of as off the cuff.. o h, hows your teeth.. David saysOK.. the nurse who checked us out
said they generally need a dentist clearance for heart surgery.. to show no infections in mouth.. ... I call both doctors office... and Got a positive
yes,,, will need that, or operation will be cancelled. ...................called his dentist .. and because it was snowing and yckky . they had a cancellation..
I drove him to dentist. he checked him out . mouth ,gums teeth no sign of any infection. He wrote out his slip . and now ,Unless D. catches cold or something ... the surgery for the valve and double bypass will be early next monday...

I'm so tired.of making decisions, making arrangements. and yelling at David .. no,don't do that. no,, let the snow alone. No. don't lift that.. Drink some more water.. etc etc etc ... hopefully tonight we will get a full nights sleep...

Take it one Day , one step, at a time.. cause that's all we really have.

Well, it's certainly a plus that his teeth are good and that you have that done. Next Monday, shouldn't your son be here and he should be able to drive you to the hospital.

Maye, the decisions and arrangements won't stop for you; in fact you will be doing them until he completely heel so be prepared. Hopefully he will learn not to do what he is not supposed to do. Prayers and thoughts for you, David, and your family.

      Wish I was there to help you out. But I'll have to settle for a big old cyber-hug. {{{{{{{{Aunt Maye}}}}}}}}
The only person you should try to be better than is the person you were yesterday.

Sounds like he basically has a very good start on this. The surgery should go well.
Maye, don't get over-worried about things.
I'm glad Mike will be there. You need the moral support as much as David does.

Maye, try not to give David your cold. Do you have those disposable masks to wear?. You can get them at the drug stores.

I know you have a long, tough road to travel for a while, but you are much stronger than you give yourself credit for. David will have t learn to stop being such a typical male!

You have been n my prayers for years and years! I will pray especially harder for a successful surgery. Nay God guide the surgeon's hands and grant compassion and competence to all the members of the medical team who will care for David. And may God filly you with peace and hope!

"God loves us so much, He gave us friends!" Amen! http://roundersonline.org/core/images/smilies/smile.png
