Morning Aunt Maye. Morning all.

Aunt Maye - I was just reading about Uncle Dave's upcoming surgery. Sending you both my love and keeping you both in my heart. I believe, like everyone else, that he will come through it just fine and will begin feeling better immediately.

We are hosting a small birthday celebration for our former roommate Danny tonight. I have a huge pan of frozen lasagna that I will bake, someone else is bringing salad and garlic bread. I have strawberries and will probably whip up a hot milk cake and throw some whipped cream on top for dessert. I am also going to bake Danny some peanut butter cookies - he's a single guy and doesn't get home-cooked meals a lot.

Also, Erin and I have hair cut appointments for 1pm this afternoon. A friend owns a beauty school and we have discovered it's WAY cheaper to go there than any salon in town. It's a bonus, because the students learn and the instructor is right there every step of the way making sure they are doing things correctly. They also offer nail services and facials - so may get a pedicure (for $10!) while I'm there.

But first I gotta make a grocery run - Chris ASSURED me we have peanut butter, but NO. I could choke him

Good morning all. Only thing on my agenda today is trying to get my new computer set up. Need to call tech support. It's suppose to rain this afternoon, turn to snow leaving us 2 - 4". Everyone have a great day!

Good morning everyone.

My plans are to stay around the condo all day. Presently it is raining, but weather weenies say it is to stop by noon and be sunny. Since it is to be 70, think I will sit outside in my new lawn chair that I bought yesterday. Think the grass area in the courtyard area will be a bit wet so will probably sit outside my door under the coverage of the second floor walkway area.

Yesterday, maintenance power washed all the second floor stairways and got my door all dirty. I had washed it last week, so guess I'll wash it again when they finish washing the sidewalks. I must say the stairways do look so much better with all that moldy black looking stuff off of them.

Good SUNNY Morning! Not sure how long the sun will be out, but I'm going to soak it in while it's here. Yesterday was dreary all day. Blah!

Yesterday was semi productive. I started off by going to the assistance office and turning in the required paperwork for insurance. The Market Place wants us to apply for a medical card first because Cork isn't earning enough to qualify for regular insurance. I want regular insurance. I hate this having different insurances 3x a year. It confuses things when you go to the doctors. WHEN he gets back to his regular job, we'll have regular insurance. We can't afford the cobra plan they are offering. It would take almost all of what Corky's earning for a month at this temp job, so I'll swallow my pride and take what we can get. Came home and baked a 3 layer cake for a customer's order for today. Got it decorated too. My cousin Missy and her family came for a short visit so the boys could play together. I had a pot of chicken rice soup simmering supper. I sent her home with some. My Aunt P called & invited us over to play cards for the evening. Becca wasn't feeling good when she got home, so we called my Mom's friend Dorothy to be our 4th. Had a nice evening playing cards with those ladies. They had me out past my bedtime!

This morning I'm making a lemon meringue pie for Missy to pick up on their way back to Hagerstown, MD. It's her favorite & even though she's an executive chef, she's not a baker & LM is her favorite, so she ordered one to go...LOL! I feel honored! Blaise just informed me that today is the day was are going to start building his Lego set that he got from Santa. This will be interesting since he opened most of the packets and dumped them together. Pray for me! LOL!

Good Morning...just had my breakfast, got up in the mood for some southern comfort, biscuits and gravy with my homemade sausage patties...even though I can't eat much of it, it was so delicious..hubby just got up, his is in the microwave to warm up...he has been having a heck of a time with his back...so I let him sleep in this morning.

No real plans here today either, just a wet day out there for now..always have housekeeping to do but just don't always want to do it..jostoy, hopefully the rain will stop and you can enjoy those 70 degree temps, after all that is why you are there..

Have to go read and find out what is going on with Dave and what surgery he will have..It seems that this has been the week for Dr. appts., phonecalls and visits, and grocery shopping, I really do need to catch up with things.

Hats off to everyone involved in getting us back together here..

Pat beauty school is the way to go, I use to be one of those students, patrons and lots of them help so much, more experience..and like you say, the instructors are right there..and we also were allowed tips..

A cold, but SUNNY day ahead. We.did get more rain than expected yesterday, and after 5 days of overcast weather (no matter how precious the rain is), it'll be nice to see the sun shining again.
Am thinking of making E a blueberry tart today. Just because.
Otherwise, no particular plans for today.
My hair could use a cut or trim, but I'm holding off for a while. My hair seems thinner lately, and I wonder if maybe it has become "too layered".
This month is filling up with appointments and events quickly. On E's birthday, midmonth, our granddaughter's Baby Shower is taking place.

Sassy, I absolutely love today's kitten! Both the sentiment, and the fact that I had a cat that looked like that! Thank you for today's smile.

Raining but baking happening here. Orange oatmeal raisin pecan cookies = that's a big accomplishment for me. Taking them to church if John and the nephews don't interfere.

Good morning....trying to finish my project for my sister is stressing me a little bit...I can't get my printer to print in color so all the pictures her friend sent this morning are in black and white..but I think they look ok. Still waiting on some more to come...

My bother in law didn't write for the book or seem to want to write...so I have a really great picture of the 2 of them...and will title a page to Special for words...and add their wedding date...

Will clean up my mess from that project and then clean floors and my parents bath room...other plans for today are to just plain relax...I am still feeling kinda yucky...can't shake the cough or chest pain.

The day is almost over, but could not pass up reading about everyone.
I cleared the kitchen counter yesterday. I have had a basket filled with fake flowers and green and an antique scale for a long time. I just decided I want something different there . I gained about 2 square feet of counter space!
Rainy here. And that is the forecast for the week.
I am making chicken tortilla soup for tomorrow. I have never made it, but found a yummy looking picture of one. Becky volunteers at the shelter from 4:00-8:00 so I am taking my mom to a Chinese restaurant. She likes it and Becky doesn't. Easy fix.

The house got chilly --- for me --- so that tart I was going to make? How do you lose a can of pie filling??? Well, it'll reappear next time I don't need it. Today, instead, a jar of mincemeat filling winked at me from the pantry. I used a pint jar of SD's "apple jelly", which is far more like pie filling. I used it as a middle layer in the mincemeat. Sure smells good. I can hardly wait to have it cool off enough to cut. I've gotten to where I don't use top crusts. Whatever bottom crust is still sticking up, gets folded over the filling. You know what? There's no pie filling leakage to make a mess. I think I'll stick with this method from now on. Also, I wet the folded over part of the crust lightly (water, milk, your choice) and sprinkle vanilla sugar or colored sugar on just the crust. Today I used cinnamon sugar because it was handiest. I don't like to eat dry crust edges, but this I like.

Mostly I'm off my feet today. Grumbling for having to wear my support hose. I couldn't believe the swelling in my feet today. E will have to pull the socks off my feet tonight. I nearly took scissors to them one night, til E came in and saved their miserable little lives!
