could have been here at 4am.. but set and read instead..

I missed seeing Mickie post yesterday!!!.. glad to see you and hear about the family ... and I can sympathize with aching knees... have almost reached the time to see a Dr. about mine too..

yesterday was a none stop kind of day... student in the morning , walmart trip and lunch for next 3-4 hours. 2 more students... these are senior type students and we work mostly 45 min..to an hour lesson.. but will have no more until next year now.. finally got set down.. and make many phone calls.

so hope today is a wee bit slower. but don't think it will be. I want to get most of my deep cleaning done before Mikes get here Monday.. can leave gift wrapping until next week. downstairs looking good.. now for some work upstairs.. however . girls are making cookies so no use to clean kitchen until they are done..

I think the Christmas Spirit has just hit me. I have this insane desire to make fudge and divinity! Think I'll have to stop at the store and pick up the ingredients!

Our Christmas luncheon is today and gift exchange too. Catered by Sonny's BBQ - should be GREAT.

I'm about to get dressed and pack just a couple more things in my tote. Seems the weekend will be about 70°, though nights are still way too cold. But a lighter long sleeve top might be in order, for one day.

Maye, don't overdo or you won't be able to enjoy the holidays with family..

Pat, I had that same bug hit me this year, but have decided it will be the last year that it does, LOL

I put a call into my Dr. yesterday, after having the stomach bug whatever it was it kicked the Crohn's in gear/my rear, and I knew that within a few days I would be in major trouble and it would be a weekend, so they called in the Prednisone, which I have only been off of two weeks but they know and I know at this point it is the only thing that gets it under control fast...I told them I wanted to enjoy my holiday, this time his nurse (the one that I got in trouble) called me personally and we talked, she was very friendly and called it in immediately..none of the bull she put me through in Aug./Sept. ( I know Jostoy will be glad to see this) I didn't want her to have to worry about me while she was basking in warm weather)

I did get the 3 doz. cookies frosted and decorated, thought about Donna, you would really have to love it to do it all the time, I am slower than molasses at it..and they are not that pretty...

I am going to make up a few different candies this morning, then I will be done with that, then I can make some goody boxes up tomorrow for giving out to some people.

Also need to make a list, check it twice and get my butt to the grocery store...as long as I don't eat maybe I can accomplish some of this "stuff". If I eat I will be homebound for hours..

Nothing new here. Have not put out one decoration. Still not sure if I will. I told John yesterday I had decided not to drag out stuff. He thanked me, but this morning I opened the
Christmas closet doors and I am getting the urge.

Good morning..I don't have to be up early this morning but woke up...thinking that I am going to crawl back into my bed...will call after 8 to see if all 4 bus routes are running today...Yesterday I had my brother in law drop me off at walmart after I after I was done volunteering...not knowing that they had to cut the green bus route for the day...well I live just off the green route...the driver that came to walmart was a blue bus and he told me to get on and he would make sure that I got home. It took 2 hours but I got home...it was a longgggggggggg ride but not horrible. I am not sure just exactly where I am going on the bus yet...maybe walmart if they call and tell me my new glasses are here. Maybe goodwill...

Will have all my stuff together and leave with my brother in law and nieces tonight after my oldest nieces volleyball game...we are headed to my parents for the day...we all want to see mom...she is still continuing to do really good....she had to go back into the the OR yesterday for another procedure...a blood clot had formed in one of the drain tubes so they had to go back in and clear that out...the doctor said they could have left it but by cleaning it that she will heal better and faster.

I am also very excited I am getting together with my best friend for breakfast on Saturday morning...we decided before I moved that we would not get Christmas gifts for each other...instead we would take the money we would spend and go out for a meal. I probably won't see her again until sometime in January.

Good Morning Rounders.....hope all is well with everyone.. Have been having help from daughter Monica and Hannah.......baking cookies and making cookie dough....I had some doughs made that they baked yesterday......Hannah decorated them.....they were cutout cookies. Have 5 doughs made in fridge.....may get to them today......will see.

Was so nice having Monica and Hannah here yesterday......After they made the cookies.....they wrapped some of the presents I bought. Really starting to look like Christmas having all those gifts under the tree.

My knees are still giving me pain. Marianne wants me to see a doctor in January......one she knows and feels he is the best one for me to see. Will get an appointment set up. She or Monica will come with me....which seems like they are doing as of late.

Not only that.....we are accumulating beautiful bouquets of flowers. Hope they stay nice til the holiday.

Hope all rounders are well. We stilll have not seen any Snow...but it is cold.... Was thinking of shopping today.....but changed my mind... Before Marianne left for work...she said she would like to go shopping tonight.....and wanted me to go with her.

Good Morning!! Another dreary day, but too much to do for it to drag me down.

Yesterday was productive, but not a single cookie was baked or iced. The morning was spent making a few pumpkin & choc rolls. Then I worked on finishing up making the pot of chicken rice soup so that I could take it to my friend Elaine's house and then onto the funeral home. We just sobbed on each other's shoulders. You know how you are fine & the strength for many people & then you see a certain person and all bets are off....that was us yesterday. But we shared a few laughs telling her oldest son a couple of our stories. When I met her husband, he's like....OH....you are Donna! Now that I know where she lives, I'm ready to go visit her. Came home & made the mini carrot cakes and rolled out all the pie shells for today. Just spent the evening watching TV and chatting with Becca....nice!

This morning is pie baking and icing the mini carrot cakes. These will all be delivered to the restaurant later. Not sure what the rest of the day will hold. I don't have any customers coming that I know of. There are a couple more kinds of cookies I would like to make & there is laundry to be done. Corky's been sort of helping with the laundry, but I hate the way he takes care of things once they come out of the dryer. I fold, sort into piles, and put in the proper drawers. He just dumps into the basket & you are lucky to find what you are looking for. LOL!!!! I feel out of control with this method, so I'll do it my way today. Maybe we'll pull the Christmas decorations out of the attic since Becca is here to help.

Last outside door to be installed today. I will not get the family room cleaned for this weekend but at least the new door will look so much better. Cookie baking went wonderfully. Sierra was full of remember whens and Andrew was just into it with both hands and a foot or two. I made the dough to sticky, Sierra rolled to thick and Andrew thought we needed to use every bit of icing and sprinkles but our masterpieces are finished. Appears I was the only one who ate way to many cookies because they wanted to go out for breakfast and we did and then Sierra said she would take Andrew home and come back to watch the hockey game. OMG! We curled up in bed like we used to do and watched the game! I know one day does not mean it is over but to have the old Sierra back was so nice. Now I need to clean the kitchen, pick up the cookies I ordered and do the last minute groceries...change beds, do laundry, maybe do some advance cooking for our Christmas Day on Sunday. Andrew is coming after school and wants to stay the night even though his mother is picking him up at 11:00 tomorrow and then bringing him back later in the day so Santa can come. Jon is staying over after work for his Union Christmas party so he will not see his dad at all and I am hoping he changes his mind about staying tonight. Well, talking of what I have to do will not get it done.

Pat, the 2 years that I wintered in Florida, I went to Sonny's several times. Loved their BBQ. It wasn't too hot for my liking.

Sharon, so glad that you got back on the pred. so you can enjoy your Christmas with the family this year. Let's just hope you won't have to be on it still when you see the Dr.s in Mi.

Ladyebug, I won't be putting up my tree, even though it only takes maybe a 1/2 hour to decorate my mantel. I am trying to get thing together to leave the 31st, And there is a lot of last minute packing and phone calling to do to mess with the Christmas decorating. Where I'm going for Christmas, there will be a huge tree, and our church is decorated pretty with a tree and poinsettas, so it's not like I don't have the Christmas spirit, I just don't have time to do everything.

Cookie, I'm sure that you and Becca will have a lot of fun and memories to talk about while putting up your tree. And I'll bet Blaise's eyes will make the whole decorating worth while.

Maye and Schmitty, if you're both needing knee replacements, after the ordeal is over, you'll wonder why you waited so long to get rid of that pain.

Maxie, don't let yourself get built up about Sierra only to be hurt again. I know how deep those kinds of hurts can cut.

Everyone is talking baking and things of that nature. I will be taking a trip on our bus to Lahaina for the day. We are to have lunch there and then a bit of shopping or just looking around or maybe sitting under the big banyan tree and people watch. I might do that.

The central heat got fixed yesterday and not as high as the estimate!
Raining here and cold, but no space heaters needed!
Today is Becky's birthday and the last day of the semester. She has all A's and deserves a break! And I will enjoy a break from proof reading papers...
I have one school girl today. She goes to a county school and they took one extra day...I let her mix cookie dough (she is 10) and it is chilling. One cookie each for kids and then I will let her take them home. Monday will start my other big kid schedule.
Have a good trip, good candy making, good decorating and good whatever is on your schedule! Nalani, I will sit with you!

Hey Im back..... get to read all you posts... enjoy that so much...... well.. Sharon, I did end up moving much slower... David and I are both sniffing and feeling achy.. he is running low -grade temp.. I DO NOT NEED to get down with a cold..... I did get to the local. fancy Restaurant and get
gift certicates picked up for the 3 couples who live here. they can have a "date-night".. and with that said ... I think ,,, yes, I am done gift shopping ,, ... and now comes the wrapping .. should not be too much of a problem this year.... will tackle that tomorrow...

I don't do very much decorating... besides the little tree. I put out some pretty knickknacks that the Rounders have sent,,,. my Nativity scene I have had for 63 years...some pretty towels, and tea towels.. a few candles. .
