As you all know I am not a walmart fan and shop there as seldom as possible. This morning I had a lot of running so for convenience sake I shopped at walmart. My cart was piled high and I ask the cashier to scan the soda, milk, water, orange juice in the cart because they were to heavy to constantly be picking them up. Leaving the store a manager came up behind me and we walked toward my car chatting. She stopped at my truck and unloaded all my groceries! She heard me say how heavy stuff was to haul off shelves and she followed me out to help. I am not frail, just maybe a little weak. I am not a slow moving elderly lady although I did miss the last few steps this morning and am limping a bit on my not so healed anymore ankle. Granted, the store was not busy but still that was a big act of kindness that I appreciated. Now the heavy stuff is in the trunk waiting for my son to carry in and I can save the back trauma for cookie baking. I know I am a critic of walmart and am still not sold on the corp. but the employees of my local walmart are doing all they can to promote good will. I wish I had taken her name.

Wow! sassy, that is something!
maxie, the only place we have to shop is WM, so being critical of it makes no sense to those around here. We just are grateful we have one.
However, I have many friends and even former students who work at ours, and all you have to do is ask for help and someone helps. It may not happen immediately, but there is always someone to help.
I'm glad you had a good experience today.

what a cheery way to start my morning ... I too was at Walmart yesterday... and I never hesitate to ask anyone with an employee tag to help... direct to something I don't have the time to hunt and hunt for. and always get help.. also , things that are top shelves are beyond my reach these day.. and any tall gentleman near gets ask very politely if they would help reach for me..
Maxie.. I got the same treatment at Staples.. lots of time helping me chose printer. carried to car. etc... yes, it makes you want to go back there.
Take it one Day , one step, at a time.. cause that's all we really have.

Not a fan of WM either.. We seem to have more surly cashiers at ours. Never an offer of assistance, though.
Used to be you didn't have to ask for assistance in a store, they were there for you. Can't say that today.
Any store will provide assistance if you ask. In my experience, though, sometimes the one to assist never shows up.
And unless they're stocking shelves, you don't see workers on the floor. If you ask the stocker, they haven't got a clue. 🙄~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Create a beautiful day wherever you go.

What a great way to start my day, I love hearing good cheer stories, there is a lot of good in the world and it is nice to hear about it..sometimes the evil can take to much space in our world. Thanks to all of you for sharing the stories of good. Start my day with a smile..
Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God

Thanks for sharing, there are good and bad people everywhere, I have found a lot of the "helpfulness" of the workers depends on the manager's attitude. Seems that some managers are more concerned with the work part of the jobs than the service part which makes the workers so afraid to take time to help because they know that if they don't get everything done they are going to be in trouble.
