  • WEDNESDAY ~ ~ TWELVE/SIXTEEN

    Good Morning!

It's late. Where are you early birds?

Oh my! More rain overnight. Not too bad, however. I think we are clear today.

Not too much to report. In fact, nothing to report. LOL

Hope this is a very good day for everyone.

    Hugs ~ ~

    Good morning.....
No way am I going out to get the paper! It's 28° out, up from 24°. It's supposed to get to about 50° today, but back to 28 again tonight. Definitely winter here.
Am trying to put together a schedule of who we can see and when; of the 4 kids, two have given us days & times that will work for them, but 2 have yet to get back with me/us. At any age, some kids don't make things easy. (One girl, at the age of 5, told me to give the other kids away, because she wanted to be an only child. She wanted "everything"! ---- where do kids get that stuff? Took a while to remove that notion.).
Phoenix is also having its cold spell right now. They're hardly much warmer than Tucson.
It's time I consider what to pack for 10 days. Also need to call Fed Ex about a package en route that I need them to hold for me.

Not much else going on. I have to dig up some Ho-ho-ho somewhere. I am lacking in Christmas spirit dreadfully this year.

Have a wonderful day, folks. 🎄

Good Morning Elaine..I have not been getting up as early, been putting my earplugs in so I can get some sleep since I have not been feeling too well. Yesterday was better, today so far so good. It has left me with a feeling like I use to have when I had my gallbladder, rather tender and such in that area.

I am hoping today to get the cookies frosted I made last week, those gingerbread men will not look like gingerbread men without some stripes and red dots.

The stress of Christmas has begun, my Mother in law a few years ago decided that she was setting her date for a get together the first Saturday after Christmas, well this year that will be the very next day after Christmas day. My daughter who comes from GA has many families to try and please, since she is from a 'divorced' family she has two plus her hubby's family to try and please..well this year since all of his sibs work in hospitals it is a little hard to get them all together until after the month of Dec. scheduling comes out, this year it worked out that the 26th would be a day they could all be together, well my Mother in law sent her a message and ask if that was the day they had it every year or what, she said that she thought that when she set her date a few years back that everyone would make sure to be there..Well Mom in law, hubby's family takes first over you!! That woman is so demanding at times..feel bad for my daughter, but my 'angry' button and fingers were dying to get ahold of her yesterday!!

I have done this to remove any stress from my kids and their obligations, I am having Christmas Eve and Christmas Day as I did years ago, if you can be here that is great, if not, let me know when you can be here or not, and I will make sure to have a brunch, dinner or whatever...Our youngest son only has us to celebrate with and I be darned if I am going to let him sit back by himself just to make everyone else happy. In years past, as a divorced family, we always split the time, half the day on Christmas Eve, half the day on Christmas Day....well the new Mrs. so and so does not like that so she has put demands on the two older kids for something different...

Wow this should have been in the rant department...

Josoty, feeling better today, still hurting a bit in the gallbladder area, and still not really hungry, and not running to the bathroom as much...just taking it easy...kind of put a crimp in my Christmas planning..

Well I have written my book(rant) sorry. But hubby didn't want to listen to me so I came here to you guys, LOL

Hello to all that have been typing while I was, or that will pass this way today..Have a wonderful day, hard to believe here in NW Ohio that is 43 degrees in the middle of December...I want some snow..

Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God

        Good Morning. I NEED SUNSHINE!!!!!

Yesterday was super productive. Hit Aldi's first then came home & mixed up a bunch of different cookie doughs. Baked them all off. One customer called & ask if it was too late to order these 4 different kinds of cookies (the one you met when here Aunt J) and I had made all 4 kinds yesterday....including the choc cookie w/o the German choc topping. She was one happy lady. The day ended on a very sad note. One of my childhood friends/neighbors son died unexpectedly yesterday. He was only 23. He was her "Kathy" in their family. Went to bed with a very heavy heart. Elaine & I keep up with each other regularly.

This morning my niece is coming to help put the finishing touches on at least 6 of the kinds of cookies I made yesterday and I also want us to take an inventory of all the extra cookies I've got made for trays. I need to know where I stand....if I need to make more or if I can quit and if I've got enough to let others order trays in the next week. If I need to make more cookies, I've got 3 more kinds pulled out to do.

Speaking of Kathy. She's been in OH for over a week & I have no idea where or when she's coming home. Since she doesn't have a phone, it makes it hard to keep up with her. I don't want to check in on her, but it would be nice to know she's alive. That's all. I thought she'd be home on Monday, but obviously not. Whatever. I'm just worried she's going to blow getting this job that she was offered. I thought she should be starting it later this week.

Time to head to the kitchen. Have a good one all!

Cookie you asked about my adventures on the red bus...I didn't get to go...I ended up having meetings and such. I will go exploring on Friday...it will be something to keep me busy.

Mom and dad should be headed for the hospital now...she was to be there to check in at 8. I don't expect to hear anything until early evening...mom will be in the hospital over night...and has agreed to not leave the hospital until my sister is there to help dad take her home...it makes me feel better that she has atleast asked my sister to come help...she wants me to stay here and meet my obligations..which include volunteering...and going to Saint Louis for my meetings..next week the week of Christmas I have been asked to volunteer on the day of their Christmas party....I agreed to do that..and checked with them in Saint Louis and I don't have to come next week so I can be here to volunteer. I absolutely love volunteering its my favorite part of the week....

The jobs I have been given to help mom...keep tabs on and keep in touch with granny. Dad and kym will mainly focus on mom...I will check in on granny every couple of days atleast for the next couple of weeks...while mom is down..I also have a short list of people to call. The job I have given myself...send mom a card once a week....she says I am the best card picker.

My brother in law and 2 nieces and I will be going over to spend the day Saturday...I will be meeting my bestie for breakfast on Saturday morning...another request mom made of me was to spend some time Lisa....she is going to still be kind of out of it...

I am so greatful for my sis....I think that if I needed to I could step up and do the things she is doing but I am afraid it would make me extremely nervous and I would scared of hurting mom....Just like yesterday we met my parents for lunch..I had gone to get a glass of water and mom was right behind me and I didn't realize it and I turned and hit her in the chest...I felt horrible..she knew it was not on purpose...

            Good Morning ..

took a super strong Ibuprofen pill. ( with a stomach protector in it).. at bedtime,, And slept over 8 hours!!!.. I have to get these knees working!... lots to do ..hoping I can finalize some corners in the house... the tree is up and done. and today I would like to finish the downstairs corners... tidy, neat. etc...Once Mike and Pam get here next Monday. I will be busy, just getting everyday cooking. and such stuff... Pam will be wearing a boot for her broken foot.. so no help from her... Mike and David can do the car runs for forgotten groceries. .but cobwebs and such are mine today.. plus David got up saying he feels like he is catching a cold. agggggggg...

I need sunshine!... my order from internet came!.... I don't buy this way very often and since this was the basic thing for the grandkids.. I am glad it has arrived

Sharon.. aw ,the eternal struggle..I started the Christmas Eve tradition . so the kids could have Christmas Day to go inlaws or just have their own day at home.
We do drop in on them for maybe 1/2 hr. to see tree, gifts. etc. cup of coffee or?. . and please , feel free always to unload on your friends at the RT.... we need you and you need us.
I can see the other Mother in laws side... she set her date ... and in a way it should be honored.... but , she could bend once in a great while!!!

Timer went off.... I put myself on a timer so I can get done what needs to be done ..... before the energy level goes back to the cellar~

            see you all later..
Take it one Day , one step, at a time.. cause that's all we really have.

              Good morning everyone.

Sharon, did the Dr. put you back on the pred. ? I am hoping you stay healthy to enjoy your Christmas and to make that trip to Mi. Don't go and do anything drastic because you know I'll be a long ways from Ohio after Dec. 31.

Not much on my agenda for today. Have my bedding in the washer, and have to make more calls today to stop services for the next 3 months. Tomorrow is another injection then on to Terre Haute for a little Christmas shopping. So that will be a long day. Friday the car goes back to the garage to have a new seal put in the right front axel, so I'll be able to get some rest without a vehichle. Then it will be ready to hit the road for my winter home.

Ladyebug, that is one unique quilt. Has such bright colors as well as some of their journey sites in it.

Everyone have a great day and enjoy whatever you do. Life is getting shorter.
Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured.

Good morning, all. Sorry for the absence. On Monday morning I bent down to put on my longies so I could take Lily out without freezing and somebody hit my lower back with a baseball bat. Well, that's what it felt like anyway. It's getting better but it's taking it's time. It hurts to sit down and then it hurts to stand.
I didn't call the Dr. because when this happened a week or so ago he told me to rest. I can do that by myself.

Anyhow I'm feeling more productive today as all I did yesterday was wash the dishes and sweep up the mess Lily made with her dog food. She gets Kibbles and Bits but she picks out the red ones and leaves them on the floor.
Anyway, I turned on the oven first thing to toast my almonds a bit for the Mexican Wedding cakes for the potluck tomorrow. Also set out the butter to soften.

Must go catch up a bit so everyone have a lovely getting ready for Christmas day.

                  Morning all

Late checking in, but have been busy all morning. We finally got our color printer hooked up to the network and then we found out we can upload all kinds of documents to it and save them so we can print them whenever we need them. So I got started scanning in forms this morning so I don't have to worry about them in the future.

Just now got around to having a bite of breakfast and fresh coffee. Stomach isn't feeling too sporty today, so am taking it easy.

Sharon - I feel for you, girl. Seems like you never catch a break. Hope today finds you better.

I'm off to scan more forms and save them. Y'all have a good 'un.
The only person you should try to be better than is the person you were yesterday.

Good garbage day! The Sun is shining but it is cold! Space heaters help, but nothing like having central heat going.
I have chicken baking and will turn some of it into chicken and rice for lunch.
I am still working on the music for Sunday. People calling who have a part who now will not be here. Solo parts are quickly becoming group parts.
I am off to,turn the chicken!
Donna, lots of thoughts for your friend and her family. I hope she can find comfort.

In laws and holidays! Andrew's mother has always been very cooperative and generous with holiday time. She and Jon work together and both make the effort to see that no one takes advantage. Sierra's mother has always been a witch over holidays and thought only she should have them. Even if they fell on Jon;s weekend off she took the holiday anyway. And since it put the kid in the middle he backed down and took the leftovers....now that the kid is old enough to make a choice well, lets just say there is a large streak of mommy dearest showing in Sierra right now. No one from here is going to change our plans to appease Sierra. Had dinner out last evening with a dear friend and it was a wonderful night. We have a tell all/no secrets relationship and the darndest things come out in conversation. Came home to watch the last period of the hockey game (way to go Blues!) and went to bed early. Jon has switched shifts and will start days at the beginning of the year. It will be good for Andrew to have his father around evenings. Now they can take off after school and Drew isn't stuck with grandma. Besides he is beginning to beat me in cards...should never have taught him to play rummy. Got a late call that he is coming today and tomorrow we will bake cookies so looks like I will have Andrew the rest of the week. I do not mind when I get last minute calls from his mom but just hearing the other mother's name makes my teeth gnash. Going to make meatballs today and then Saturday all I have to do is unthaw them and cook sauce. A nice festive meal for our Christmas Eve. Need to dig out the Christmas china too. It is a beautiful morning..hello sun!

                          Aloha all!

Running late. Hope every one gets accomplished what they need to get done without too much stress. Bim and I will have a quite Christmas along with everyone else here who won't have family with them for some reason. Patty and Walt are flying back to Ohio next week to be with their daughters and families. Would love to go to but do not want to make that long airline trip again in my life.

                          Have a good day all!
