      Good Morning.

It's hard to believe that we used to think Pearl Harbor was the worst thing that could happen to Americans. And now some 70 plus years later the entire world is under attack. God help us.

Well on that note, I will wish you each a good day and get on with rounding up flowers and a trip to the cemetery.

          Good morning.
Yes, "This is a day that will live in infamy!" And how many wars since? Will people ever learn to get along?
This morning I woke to the tune of winds blowing over the house. We seem to have more strong winds lately. It's made a mess of the cover and cages in my garden; the plants were not protected from the nights freezing temps a couple nights ago. Might as well go and cut them down. Yesterday was not a very good day for me. Stomach cramps. I still feel them this morning, so I'll ask E to pick up another bottle of mylanta. I'm nearly out, and have a prescription ready for pickup.

Nothing new here, so I guess I'll close. I have chores to catch up with anyway.
Have a great day, everyone. 😃

Good SUNNY Morning! Cold, yes...but as long as the sun is shining, I can handle it.

Yes, last night was fun. Now we did laugh that much playing cards at our Thanksgiving meal. We don't need alcohol...we are just naturally crazy. My husband's family never laughed...sad. I thought all families were like ours until I got out into the world. Very sad.

Baked & baked some more yesterday. Today more the same. Canceled cooking dinner for my cousin. May cancel Wednesday too. I just want to get these cookies done, so that I can relax & enjoy.

            Have a good one all!!!

Good Morning....I see the sun trying to come through...we sure had some nasty freezing fog days...we went away Saturday morning early and came back yesterday, we went to Frakenmuth, MI a Christmas wonderland, home of Bronner's so many Christmas ornaments and lots of other things..Santa was there so lots of children there also..ate at an authentic dutch/german restaurant, pretty good..but oh wow, so much traffic through the town, which have houses of that ethnicity..also a great outlet mall, we walked more than I though I could, our son and his SO went with us, we picked them up on our way. We treated them to a weekend also.

This morning got up and sliced my meat and have it in a marinade so I can put it in the dehydrator later for beef jerky, also have some shopping to get done today, I will be doing some baking this week...have a busy week ahead of me and lots to get done.

JoG, do you take probiotics? When my stomach was so messed up from antibiotics and Crohn's they had me start them, been taking them every since, I think they have helped me more than anything with stomach issues..

Maye, so glad you had some 'cackling' fun with the ladies, now back to your real world, LOL..

Well y'all I need to get my day going before I lose my get up and go...

Have a great day one and all..

Good morning, all. Cloudy this morning but no rain predicted until Thursday.

I have to go for an X-ray on my back this morning because I hurt badly enough to make me feel like I needed to see a Dr. He checked reflexes and said since I didn't have leg pain that it probably wasn't serious.
First time this Dr. hugged me. I like that in a Dr.

Also have to go to Walmart for paper products, etc. I know I don't need any paper products but I have a small list of assorted things. Want to look at coffee makers as mine is an old one that Joy had when she was a photographer and traveled weekly. It's a one cup one and the coffee isn't very hot.
When we made tamales on Saturday, the managers had set out their Keurig and the coffee was good and very hot. Since I rarely have more that one cup a day if that it would work for me but it does take up a lot of space.

December 7th, Pearl Harbor Day always reminds me of my Uncle Frank. He was a young Seaman 2 and on a mine sweeper when it happened. H survived and went up through the ranks until he made Commander. During the war a man could be promoted without OTS if he qualified. Frank was very intelligent so he made it.

Well, I guess that's all for now. Everyone have a great day.

[Quote: JoG, do you take probiotics? When my stomach was so messed up from antibiotics and Crohn's they had me start them, been taking them every since, I think they have helped me more than anything with stomach issues..]

Sharon, yes I do take probiotics. The new doc at the beginning of this year had me switch brands to "Cultural", which doesn't seem to work as well.....I was taking Bio- something brand before. The problem, I believe, stems from the drastic cut it my main medication in November of last year. The result then was like c-diff. Stomach gasses increased also. I've tried gas-X products, Imodium (which is overkill), reduced doses of liquid Imodium....none of which really help for long. There's a new chewable Alka-seltzer pill out I tried several weeks ago. Once started, I needed fewer doses for control.
But I've got a flare-up now of the original distress. I started back on the Alka-seltzer stuff. Today there's less pressure. So I guess I'll take one daily again. That might do the trick. What I want is the least amount of meds necessary.

The doc who changed my probiotics, she has nothing to do with the other meds I take (6 in the morning, 4 at night).
My niece suggested I contact the nurse advocate about the doctor I'd like to drop, but need. (The doctor who was supposed to transfer here from m TX, whom I thought would be more like my original Doctor there, never did materialize.)
But this doc I have there is one who snickers at my problems....and has had no advice or anything useful to offer thus far.
I've talked to our niece, a nurse, about how to change doctors. She can only suggest seeing the nurse advocate; and interviewing my next doctor before I drop the doctor/specialist that I currently have. For that I'll wait till after the first of the year. Too much other stuff going on right now. Wrong time of year for all this. (Come to think of it, it all began at this time of year, 36 years ago, and have made quite a bit of progress, albeit slowly, since then.)

Good morning!! I am beginning to feel like myself again. All the wrapping is finished and Jon had to come up and help with some of the bigger boxes, which he did willingly. We also replaced a screen in the back door and that is the first project where no one was threatened with death. Even the simpliest projects seem to be ordeals around here but not yesterday. Andrew left with his mother to pick out a Christmas tree still talking! My aching ears!! No more hiding the Elf until Wednesday. He is 9 and a little more sophisticated than hiding it from a 4 year old...I can only climb so high and stretch so far to find a good hiding place. No one here missed my birthday...I doubt I ever told anyone. I started coming here shortly after my husband died and I was still very private about personal info. Probably most anyone knew of me came from Tinker at that time. Boy I still miss that lady! And I will be widowed 20 years this summer...how can that be? But we weather all types of things in life and move on and I am thinking it is time to move into the Christmas Season. Need to find a cookie baking date . Maye, I do not envy your doing all the driving. What a chore when you just want to stay home. Cookie wish you were closer and I could just buy cookies. All Drew wants is a couple dozen uniced cutouts! He will create the masterpieces himself! Well, off to clean up my gift wrapping central and call that for the season. and this my very first of the season.... HO HO HO!

Sassygirl, mother neighborhood cat decided I needed a new alarm...0400 that cat started meowing near my window and woke a dog who would not shut up.
                          So, Good morning, Everyone!
Our trip to Pearl Harbor last summer was as much and more than I expected. The same reverent, sacred feeling that I felt at Arlington. And information I had not heard or read before. The "first hand" reports from diaries and military historians were very sobering. And as Elaine said, look where we are now. My mother and I looked at every name listed on every plaque or wall. It seemed like the right thing to do.
I have more cookie dough chilling. Thumbprints are next on the list. My niece said she does not do cookies well and I want to send some to them. They live in MN.
I love to bake. I hate to mail packages. And yet, I remember being so excited to receive packages when we lived far away from family.
Maxie, I have seen different friends on Facebook posting their elf antics. So glad I didn't have that to contend with when my kids were at home. God bless you all!
It is a wet, chilly morning. Just the kind to bake if I were off, but hopefully, I will feel like baking after work.
                          Monday on, Rounders!
Hello to all and thanks for sharing!
