    Morning all

Wow - what a drop in temperature from yesterday. About 25 degrees difference this morning. Brrrrr!

So I did a little finagling and talked to my old boss at my last job yesterday. The owner has a condo on Tybee Island just south of Savannah, GA. As an employee, we could stay there 4 days a year free. Well, I never got to go. So I asked yesterday if I might be able to go sometime in February. My old boss is going to ask the owner and says she will convince him to let me go. So it looks like Chris and I might have a little weekend getaway coming up! YAY!

Also - my birth half-sister, Mary, is flying into Gulfport, MS next weekend and we are driving over and staying with her for the weekend. Can't WAIT!

So nice to have something to look forward to!

But for now, coffee. Y'all have a good 'un!

Good Morning, also a very cold morning here...

Pat, I absolutely love Tybee Island also Savannah, GA. River St. in Savannah is awesome, so much to see and do and Tybee Island is so laid back and fun. Lots of good places to eat...Hope it all works out for you..have you met your half sister before? I can't remember...

We are planning a get away this weekend to Frankenmuth, MI it is a wonderful place to visit I hear, very Christmas' taking our son and his SO with us...should be lots of fun.

Today as much as I dread it I must get off of this computer and go grocery shopping, hubby is out of town for the day so no cooking supper if I don't want to..

Have a great day one and all, time to get this day started..

Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God

Sharon, yes, I have met Mary and she's visited several times. When I was in the hospital in 2005, she flew in and stayed at my bedside for a couple of days. We keep in touch, but I haven't seen her since 2005.

Good morning. I think today should jump to 70° or better.
I have some laundry to catch up with today. E sees his doctor this morning, and will be rigged to look like magnets stick to him.......the doc put him on iron pills last time, and E wants to appear like they "really worked". I hope this doc has a good sense of humor; most are very serious people.
While he's out, I'll shower and get ready for tonight's theater show.

Now that I have another appointment to redo my echocardiogram, the doc says my last reading was "normal". I left a note that someone there had me make another appointment, so I am waiting to see what he says. Actually, what my last test read, it didn't sound normal, especially the fluid on the lungs and the heart slightly enlarged and slowly dripping fluid part. The thyroid, I'm not sure of, but slightly calcified doesn't sound good either. 🙄

Pat, the short trips should be fun.

Sharon, Michigan IS a beautiful state. I've been to Frankenmuth several times. The Christmas store is fun and the window displays of Bethlehem are amazing....it was an ongoing work of art. One downside, is that Chicken Dinner restaurant everyone packs to...always crowded. Always was a big disappointed me.....they must measure salt by the handfuls in their foods. From my childhood to adulthood, that never changed, and I could never eat the food. A friend once took me out to the country, and the cider mills were great....we'd get fresh, hot cider and cider donuts! Heavenly!

Well, i need some breakfast, I think. It's been tea and graham crackers lately, as my tummy has been a bit problematic.

Have a great day, everyone. 😊

Good Morning. Friends. Hi Sharon! Hi Jo! Can't wait to hear about the magnets. LOL

Pat, isn't Tybee Island where Betty used to live? I hope you and Chris get to go. Sounds like a beautiful place.

I'm exhausted from hours of listening to the horror in CA.

B12 shot for John. Paying taxes. Returning faulty light bulb. To do list for the day.

          Take care, Everyone.

Good morning, all. having a second cup of tea. I have an 11:00 appointment with the Dr. That would really interfere with my sis' plans for the day so I will call niece, Carla and see if she can do it.
My back is still killing me. Ir hurts whether I stand, sit, or walk. In other words, all the time. I have one pain pill left but a script for more is awaiting me at his office. I'm afraid I need more than a pain pill for this.

My great grandson, Luke, turns 7 today. Really cute pic of him on face book. He read my post himself which made me very happy.

You all making nice trips makes me envious.

Gotta hit the shower. Have a great day.

              Aloha all!

Still dark out. Am doing my laundry and that should be finished soon.

Made the bus trip to the mall yesterday on our bus but now have to go back today and pick up my new glasses. Could of gotten them yesterday but couldn't keep the bus waiting until they are done. Also getting a new pair of dark glasses but they won't be ready for 10 days or so.

Pat so glad you will have such a nice getaway with Chris. How nice that will be.

              Have a good day all!

Good Morning! We woke to a dusting of snow & cold temps. I NEED SUNSHINE!!!!

Yesterday was very productive despite the dreariness. It took me to 11:45pm, but I FINALLY got all the baked sugar cookies iced. When I stopped to make dinner, I had 9 doz cookies let to ice, and after relaxing a bit, I finally got back to icing. Also prepped a pot of stuffed pepper soup.

This morning I finished dumping in the rice & chili sauce into the pot and simmered a pot of stuffed pepper soup. My beautician requested the soup as part of our bartering. Works for me! I then went and had a body wave put into my hair this morning. I can't stand flat hair on me. Now I'm trying to get the kitchen all back in order and then I'll start all over again. Blaise has a dentist appointment at 12:45, and I hope once we get home from that I can start mixing up cookie dough. Need to get my lists organized. I've got people wanting some of their cookies next week already. 3 1/2 weeks from now I'll have me life back...promised Blaise we'd build some puzzles.

Pat...I'm assuming Mary is from your Dad's side, otherwise I figured we'd have been hearing about her when all that drama was happening over your Mom. BTW....do you hear from your brother & sister much? Haven't heard you mention them.

(((Barb))) Hope your doctor is able to help you....quickly!

                Have a good one all!

Donna - nope. I am adopted. Mary is my half-sister from my birth mother.

I have not heard a peep out of my brother or sister in over a year.

                    Good morning.
Cold, rainy (yay) and going to be windy (boo). Yesterday's shooting is just so hard to understand on any level other than the horror and sorrow of so many.
I can't seem to get this finished...
                    Too many interruptions.
Take everyone, and do something to add some goodness to this world!

Yesterday's shooting also took something out of me...thought maybe it was because we are so overly sensitive to adversity here but happy to know others are also overwhelmed by it. I do not understand the gun thing. Or how in the world can you go in and just start shooting at innocent people living their own lives. I could go on and on but won't. I understand hate but do not understand the violence. Sierra was by for her meal between classes last night and acted normal and nice but I do not let my guard down for fear of being accused of not playing nice when the evening is repeated. Need to start wrapping but need to finish shopping also. Tonight is Drew's Christmas program. The boy hates to dress up but I sent his shirt home all nice and pressed and hope his mother can work some magic. If he puts the shirt on is one thing....tucking it in is another! Sierra just texted she will go to program with me tonight and could we do dinner out first. Whew! Jon is burning his lunch in the oven so better go salvage that. Fish..is anything worse than burnt fish? The stench will live on all afternoon..

                          Hello, people.....I'm back.
E got home from his appointment with the Doctor. He had all the receptionists, nurses, techs, and the doctor really cracking up. He had tin can lids in his pockets and taped to his tummy. And put magnets on them to show how well those iron pills worked. The doc was really surprised to not find any Velcro being used. So E broke the monotony of their day...,they all have a story to take home with them.

Two bits of bad news.... (1) After E's next follow-up in May, the doctor is leaving to work in NM; (2) the doctor told E to quit giving platelets. That last one really saddens E, as he has seen some of the children who require platelets on a regular basis.
