  • THURSDAY 12 NOVEMBER

Good morning to each one of you. I cant tell what the weather will be today. Right now, it is DARK! I think that it is supposed to be clear today. It seems like the days are getting chillier and chillier. I would heck my phone to see the icon, but my phone is at my friend's house. It fell out of my pocket in her car! will get it tonight. I HATE not having my cell phone!!

I want to thank you for your prayers, good thoughts, support and wise words. Tuesday was horrific. I know I needed to be at Don's sentencing, but I hated it. The judge was a good man. I was really impressed. He is very "by the book," but he is fair and just. He cares about the victim(s) and the criminal and he really had done his "homework." He made sure that he was doing everything right. Several times, he asked questions about the guidelines for sentencing and the parameters he had to go by. It was really painful to have to listen to his reasons for imposing the sentence he gave Don. He sentenced him to 38 years, lifetime supervision and $176, 000 in restitution. (That made me laugh.) I did find out that he can be sent to any prison in the United States. I doubt he will be in SC, but it will be a while before he gets assigned to a permanent facility. His lawyer is no longer representing him, but told me that he will be available if I need anything! He was the best attorney that either of my kids ever had. So, it is "one down and one to go." Stewart was supposed to have a jury trial, but may not have to go through that now.

I need to pick up my meds at Publix and do a little bit of Christmas shopping. I will also go to Mass tonight. Today would be my parent's 77th wedding anniversary and the Mass will be for them. I really want to get a pedicure and a manicure, but I don't know if I will get to do that today.

Elaine - I hope John is better!
Pat - I can relate to the pj's and the keys! I hope Erin is feeling better!
Bethina - I am glad your folks stayed with you. How far away do they live?
Janet - I should say I am sorry about the "C" word but I am not!

I still have not found the lost lens and doubt that I ever will. I am being VERY careful not to lose or break my only pair of glasses.

I can't get my brain in gear and can't think of what I wanted to post. (This getting old is for the birds!)

    Enjoy the day!

    Good Morning 😊

Val, your post said 2:44. Are you staying up all night?

Thanks for your good wishes about John. He is still hacking, but the worst is behind us.

Wish I had something amazing to discuss, but without kids and grandkids, life is uneventful. I will say that our niece, Sally, had a double hip replacement Tuesday. They did not put her to sleep. She called about an hour after. Still not believing this.

Well, have a good day. 😘

      Morning all

YAY! The new cleaning people start today! I don't have to do laundry today! My shoulders & left arm are killing me from folding and lifting.

I gotta make the coffee still.

      Y'all have a good 'un!

The only person you should try to be better than is the person you were yesterday.

Volunteering gives me something to look forward too...I am not sure what my afternoon will bring other than riding a bag of trash to my sisters house....I know that tommarow I have to get up a little bit early and get to the bus stop...not sure what I will do once I am on the bus just yet...I haven't totally decided other than finally going to get my missouri and another adult coloring book..

            Ditto Ladyebug.

Back to Vincennces to get another "bumble bee sting".

              Good morning, everyone.
Apparently were had freeze warnings last night. I don't think it happened, but it's too dark out to see anything outside.
Nonetheless, the forecast puts us at 76° today....and rising for the next couple of days. So int think it happened around here, anyway. Yesterday was in the low 60's, and E even felt chilly and turned on the furnace. That felt really nice!

No particular plans today, just the usual. Maybe a bit of laundry.

Sassy girl, I absolutely love this cat!
Elaine, I'm glad to hear John is past the worst of it.
Val, so sorry about your son. I'm glad he had a nice judge, anyway. I imagine that the stress has kept you awake last night. 😟 Try to relax, please.
Pat, am glad you got your cleaning people! We are kind of paranoid about that kind of help, but sure could use that these days. We have had various things go mysteriously missing....scientific calculators, computer things, electronic gadgets. You can't prove they took them, and having to stay and watch those people seems ridiculous. Even yard workers have taken away some of our personal yard tools.

Speaking of yards, I still need to do stuff in our yard.

Have a great day, everyone! ☀️🎶

Good DREARY Morning. We did have a little bit of sunshine yesterday, but not enough for me. At least it's not cold, just very cool.

Yesterday was different w/o Corky around all day to talk to & help out with Blaise. I miss him. I puttered around & cooked most of the day. Tried to take Blaise to the library, but it was closed for the holiday when we got there. After Karen picked up her dinner, we took a plate of food to our beautician. Got shocking news from her (don't tell anyone Aunt J)...her husband (who I graduated with) got a job down in SC. Now I move, but nobody else is allowed to move. I'm so sad. We've really started to become friends and now she's going to leave. At this time of our lives I thought we were suppose to be moving closer to home, not days away. Anyways, after I got stuff cleaned up, made a pie & plate of cookies, I went to my friend Sandy's for a jewelry party. She knew I wasn't going to buy anything, but was coming for an evening of being with other ladies.

This morning is Bible study. Coming home to ice the carrot cake I made yesterday and to bake a couple of pies for a local restaurant who I'm trying to get to order from me. We'll see. Blaise has a 2pm haircut appt.

                Have a good one all!

((((Val)))) Life with wayward children is tough.
                Bethina...so you're riding trash bags now...for me it's brooms....LOL!
Pat...glad you are getting relief! It is tough getting older and doing simple things can make muscles hurt.
Elaine...glad John is feeling a bit better...I was worried about him.

                Tootles!

Elaine, it was probably 1:44 AM when I was posting because of the time difference. I did get a couple of hours sleep so I feel halfway decent right now. I'm happy to hear that John is feeling somewhat better.

Ummmm - what is an uneventful day? I don't know what that means! LOL

I am having issues with Bob so it's hard to relax. After all these years he's acting like a real jerk. I had to get a lawyer and things just a really tough. It's just hard to believe that he's acting the way he's acting.

Sassy girl, The graphic is hilarious. I love it!

I envy you, Pat. I'd love to have a cleaning crew come in every once in a while especially to do laundry. I have problems vacuuming and dusting also. Reading directions on the back itches is also tough. I don't do a lot of cooking or baking anymore.

Today is wisdom tooth extraction day for Sierra but first she has to run back home and have her TB test read at the lab and medical form for school signed by the doctor so there is early moving around here. Last night was a night of 'much ado about nothing' with the weather. We got some wind and rain but nothing like the horrible storms we had been threatened with for days and days. Why do the weather guys scare you to death for a week in advance? I think life was much easier when you woke up and looked out and saw rain or snow. Guess everyone needs to make a living but these weather guys do not seem to be earning their pay checks. Drew has early dismissal today and will be here this afternoon. He requested chili when he left Sunday so will get a pot on soon. Did some more cyber shopping yesterday. It is fast but maybe to easy...while I'm ordering this I find myself looking at that and I do not need a weather man to tell me how hot my credit card is! Believe it or not it is the little boy that I am having a problem shopping for. Sierra fell right into place and the boys are getting gift cards...nieces and nephews also get gift cards and I love shopping for those little ones but Drew is giving me a problem. I do not match cost but go by gift count for the grands and he is the hard one this year. I only have 2 weeks to go for my official end of shopping self imposed goal. Sun is peeking out and the trees are swaying..looks like the wind stripped them of their leaves. Gotta go start the day...have a great one all.

Good morning, all. Another Frosty morning again. Oddly enough I'm enjoying it except for the aches it brings along.

I ran out of Meloxicam, an anti-inflammatory. I didn't really realize how well it was working until my provider removed it from the list of things that were available to me.
Went to my Dr. appointment yesterday. Found I had written the wrong date on my calendar. At least I got some grocery shopping done but still need a Walmart trip. Ada is taking me tomorrow as she was going anyway.

I also need to go to Ross. About a month ago I bought a 10-inch Cuisinart skillet because my old one was about to lose the non-stick finish. It's a great pan. Now I see my small egg skillet is shot and I want to go back and see if I can get another Cuisinart. The price was amazing compared to what they were asking at Kohl's.

Don't know if you folks in the east have Ross stores but they do have some very good deals.

Val, I'm sure that it's painful to see what's going on with your sons. Add Bob being a butt and it's no wonder you have trouble sleeping.

Right now the time says it's 2:47. Still can't find how to set it as it's actually 6:47.?????
                        Everyone take care.

                          Good mid morning .

been up. coffee. pick up , make bed, wash up dishes. fold that basket of clothes from dryer...

what I think Pat Meant was the cleaning crew arrived for the business .. keeping the 'motel rooms ,beds clean'.. not her own house.. am I right Pat?.
having cleaning people in your home would be nice. but.. you have to have everything picked up and put out of sight .. before they get there.. the only help I would like is the major stuff. wipe down walls. curtains, windows. scrub carpets. etc etc... not the everyday dusting, bathrooms... I manage that .. not all in one day or all in a row.. I may be cleaning the bathroom after I shower at 10 pm... I dust in bedrooms , with David's t-shirt. .I like clean floors. so I did sweeper, and mop. .. right now I need to call the carpet cleaners.. but waste of money until after C. and company have been through...

so glad to hear John is a little better... yes, worried about him.. he is not a kid any longer.. ( but, like David, won't admit to being "older").

                          SassyG. another giggler!.... thanks

Val.... ahhhh,,, dear friend, my heart aches for you ..if what the judge said and did was just... then Don got himself into this mess.
and so has Stewart... please don't take any of this on yourself. except to feel sad.and let us hug you ((((((((Val)))))))

and Hi to the rest of you folks.. I'll be back later.
Take it one Day , one step, at a time.. cause that's all we really have.

                            Morning....

It's just simply beautiful outside here today....Finally !! So much rain for so long a time plays on a person's good nature.

Took the last 2 days and did nothing but run around. One day, did all the "must do" stuff then yesterday, we just went exploring. Since I've not been cleared to drive still yet.....WR is the official chauffeur. Sometimes that's good then other times.......uh - not so much.

Today will be some honey-do's outdoors for the both of us. Roast is in the crockpot for supper so I don't have to stop early in the afternoon to start the meal. I like that.

Alrighty then......take care. Thinking about all of you and your situations.

Pat - I should have known that it wasn't for your personal use. Oh well, we can dream, can't we?

I am now trying to deal with Bob ad getting him to allow me to get into the house. He has been avoiding me for more than a year and refusing to bring me the things I need (want.) I believe it will get nasty because I think he will try and keep me from going into the house and let me into the garage only because I bet "she" will be there - which is a violation of my lawyer's directive to him. I am so sorry to whine and complain, but you guys are my port in the storm. Much of what I can share with y'all, I cannot tell anyone else.

Janet - I really am not taking responsibility for my kids or husband's actions. They are all where they are because of decisions they made! It is just sad and frustrating because I a affected by those choices and I see the pain and suffering they are causing themselves and others!

On a positive note: My friend brought me my cell phone. I thought I was going to have to wait till Mass tonight! YAY!!!!!
