  • Its NOVEMBER 1st already!

Good morning, and good November to you all. Where does the time go?
I've been awake since 3:00a, and don't know why.

Yesterday we gave out well over 200 glow necklaces. Beautiful little girls and boys; no gory costumes this year. Many princesses and Minnie Mouse, ninjas and super heroes. A mix of Hispanic, Asian, Caucasian, Negro, and India-Indian children.
Many thanks of appreciable from parents for keeping the kids safe and cavity free, by handing out what we did. One or two other houses also gave out glow necklaces, but they were very dim and burned out after an hour. Ours were bright, and we know which kids came by twice. They said we were the hottest house in the neighborhood. Wow!
The entire Trick-or-Treat lasted from 6-8. At 8 I was feeling the cold starting to come in, and the groups of kids nearly abated, so we closed it up about then. We may have had 20 or more necklaces that only partially lit up, and the last group grabbed them all to take along and have fun with.

So much for last night. Back to reality today. I've got Heckle & Jevkle, Wendy witch, and other odds and ends filling the living room, all of which get packed away today for next year.
I get to finish the laundry I started yesterday.
When the sun comes up, I'll bring in the paper and read it.

We will be having a sunny day, a bit warmer than yesterday.

Hope you have a great day. Thanksgiving will be here before we know it, right? 😄

Create a beautiful day wherever you go.

On one November 2014, we actually had snow in Aiken, South Carolina! It is going to be different this year. I wore high will be 77°! I love it

I am getting ready to get picked up to go to Adult Ed. I will go to mass tonight.

I hope everybody remembered to turn their clocks back one hour. I changed all my clocks except for the one in the car. I must remember to do that the next time I drive!

I am really bummed because I have not found my glasses yet. And my dining room being flooded wasn't fun. And certainly, slanting my foot into the couch and possibly breaking one of my toes was definitely not fun. All I know, this is been an event full weekend. No, I do not want to relive it!

I hope everybody has a wonderful Sunday and that nothing bad happens. Happy first day of November!

Good Morning, yes it is time to rise-n-shine, got that extra hour so you should be ready to go...I just got finished making sh*t on a shingle and toast...hubby is still sleeping, since he has been traveling so much and working longer hours I am giving him a break this weekend..he can warm it up when he decides to get out of bed...I am a morning person, he is not, I am one of those cheerful people that a lot of people do not like, I just wait until he starts talking.. I still get my good morning kiss from him, but that is all..

No great plans for today except to relax, sew on my quilt, and watch the races, Will probably throw something on the grill for supper..the sun is coming out, looks like we had rain overnight...no trick or treaters in this area, houses to far apart..I do miss seeing the little ones and passing out candy.

Went furniture shopping yesterday, got some ideas and measurements, now doing some research, will make a decision in a few weeks..
Hope you find your glasses Val..
Well hubby is up now time to get my day started..
        Happiness for all.

Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God

Good morning, all. The clock may say it isn't breakfast time but my tummy says it is.

            Good morning everyone.

A bit froggy out this morning. A lot of leaves fell overnight and looks like I didn't pick any up Thursday. If they dry out a little today, will pick up what has fallen for the pickup by the city tomorrow.

Today is church. Cooked Bar-B-Q meat balls, baked beans, and coleslaw for my lunch today. Not a good meal for the acid reflux people, so I won't offer any to them.

Have a good day and enjoy whatever you do.
Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured.

Hooray for Sundays !! Just finshed with the super tasty breakfast WR fixed ( Sundays are his for KP ). We had fried potatoes, scrambled eggs and sausage w/cheese biscuits. He could get a job at Denny's as good as he cooks breakfast.

Raining again here.....makes it a great day to stay in by the fire. Well.....almost. The gas fireplace here still needs to be hooked up to a propane tank and serviced before usable. Nov. 19 they say they'll be here to do that. Won't hold my breath. Nobody gets in a hurry in these parts. One more thing for this silly ol' northern woman to adapt to......and the list grows and grows.

Okey dokey - onward & upward. Enjoy !

Good morning...Plans for my Sunday...small group Bible Study with my group from church...I am really to the place that Sunday mornings are one of my favorite parts of the week..this afternoon more than likely just gonna hang out under the covers watching tv after I put the kitchen back together...I don't usually see my sis on Sundays...between her schedule and mine we both are busy on Sundays...we tend to see more of each other when my parents are here..we do get together about once a week for lunch and she takes me places I need to go...I think that I am going to ride my bike to her place in the morning to get my weekly money then I am going on the bus...

Last night I went to a halloween party at one of my sister's best friends...it was a lot fun..

I am doing the best I can, Maye. Which is a whole lot better than 2 weeks ago. Thanks for asking.

I sure dislike the time change. I always want to be doing something at a wrong hour. Starving at the moment but have to wait!

                    Have a good day all.

Good Morning, November! Elaine, I love that poem. I am going to copy it off!
It is raining here and that makes it just that much better a day. I have a pretty umbrella and not afraid to use it.
I had lots of pretty Princesses and Super Heroes, too. And almost everybody said Thank you! I was glad when it really dwindled down because I needed to get away from the candy. Little tiny individual Snickers, Twix and Three Musketeers, but too many can be hard on a diet. Anyway, I gave everyone a sucker, a Twizzler (licorice) and a couple of the candy bars bites and they all seemed happy.
Yesterday was a little too busy for my personal liking and certainly nothing would do every Saturday. (I wonder what I just hit to make the font change?)
Today I have only church and then it is my choice! I did get all my laundry done yesterday in between the errands and all the shopping done, so the week is set.
To day is the opening day of the shelter. Yesterday Becky helped fill hygiene kits with shampoo, soap, deorderant, etc. then moved all the suppies out of storage and into the truck that will take the different churches that host the shelter.
Well, I have gone on long enough and need to get my hair and makeup done. and dig out the umbrella!
Have a great day! Hope things are much better today, Val!
Maye, that is so nice to fix things up for the feral cat!

Good Morning! Loved the sleep in. I needed it.

Yesterday was good. We went over to my Mom's and finished up the leaf raking job. My shoulder was so sore from the raking on Friday but believe it or not I raked more yesterday and it no longer hurts. Guess I worked the kinks out of it. Came home and just puttered around doing little jobs. Made an apple pie to take over to my Mom's. When I got home yesterday my SIL texted me & ask if I was doing anything during the evening. Kathy was taking Blaise T&T with some friend of hers. So my SIL & I went to my Mom's, handed out the goodies, and played cards until 10pm.

This morning was church and now I'm trying to figure out what I need to do to prep for tomorrow's cooking day. Think I'll bake my empty shells for the lemon pies I'm making and make the spaghetti sauce for the lasagna. Tonight's card night was planned last week and we are meeting again at my Mom's My cousin Karen is joining us tonight to make our foursome. My SIL is picking up the pizza on her way. I'm going to make a nice salad to go with it since my cousin can't eat pizza currently on her diet.

Think I'll give Mickie a call again to see how she is doing.

                        Have a good one all!

Laid in bed and watched a Hallmark movie this morning so I am really late. No matter since Sierra is working, Drew not here and son still sleeping in. Yesterday we finished the living room. Now just need my new homemade table delivered. It is to heavy and big for our vehicles so my sister will deliver some weekend when can get together. Today I need to give the kitchen door another coat of paint and then finish up the hall touch up. Rain is finally gone and it is sunny and bright and by the feel of this house cool. Found a spaghetti sauce frozen so that is supper tonight. Tomorrow is leftovers and Tues is back to normal...vacation over and I have a derma appointment then meeting my sister to shop. Can you beleive we are in the month for Thanksgiving? This year is flying by at an amazing clip and normally I don't care until I realize that is my life whizzing by.... Think I need to clean up my act and be nicer more often. Hope everyone has a sunny Sunday to enjoy.

                            Hi everyone.
I forgot to mention our new Halloween decoration...a "guitar playing" skeleton wearing a sombrero and serapè, and it plays "La Bamba". We call him Señor Pedro. It's eyes are motion detectors, so whenever kids/parents approached, it automatically started playing. We had kids and parents dancing in the driveway. For the little kids, it wasn't scary and they had fun.
Apparently one house down the street had flashing lights and played "The Monster Mash", speakers focused on base, which really drowns out conversation and rattles Windows. Little ones didn't like it.
After an hour or so they just turned it all off. I wouldn't be surprised if the closer neighbor's complained.
That feature was new to the neighborhood, really unexpected.

I went back to bed at 5 this morning. Too chilly to sit in the Living room. And I'm not dealing with this Halloween mess by myself. I slept 3 more hours.
And....we don't deal with time change here. However, we have to make note of it when it comes to contacting family.

Cookie, please let us know how Mickie is.

Have a great November day, everyone! 😀

Just talked to Mickie & she's fine. Marianne is going back to work on Tuesday after a month off for chemo. Radiation treatments will be starting in the near future. Mickie says she's been here reading, but can't post. She's tried registering again, but has had no luck. Can anyone help her?
